LURSSEN YACHTS was founded in 1875 and is a family-owned German shipbuilding company. The yard is known for building some of the largest luxury yachts in the world, and its fleet ranges in size from 131′ to over 656′ (40m to over 200m). Lurssen owns and operates multiple shipyards with expertise in building private yachts, naval ships and other custom yachts, and in some cases, highly classified specialized yachts.

World-class yacht construction by Lurssen yachts includes the 377′ (115m) PELORUS, the 512′ (156m) DILBAR, the 591′ (180m) AZZAM and more, with design by some of the top interior and exterior stylists from around the world, including Tim Heywood , Espen Øino, Alberto Pinto and others, to create a yacht with thoughtful precision and detail to the client’s liking.

The German company Lürssen founded in 1985, is based in Bremen-Vegesack. It can be fairly considered one of the most important shipbuilder of private and charter mega yachts in the whole world. The company owns several shipyards that are very busy constructing and selling luxurious motor yachts of unlimited length.

In order to answer the customer’s most unique requirements, Lürssen has a team of more than hundred naval architects and engineers, who cooperate with leading world-famous designers to find the creative solutions and create a megayacht masterpiece.

For example, the famous charter yacht CAPRI, 60 meters, is believed to be one of the largest super yachts on the market, however, Lürssen considers her quite small, because its new constructions include such giants as PELORUS (115m) for Roman Abramovitch and OCTOPUS (125 m) for Paul Allen, the co-owner of Microsoft.

Many of the yachts built at Lürssen are known as the most “wanted” on the sale and charter market.

Instead of planing hulls, Otto Lürßen relies on a rounded hull and powerful engines. At high speeds, these hulls partially emerge from the water.

Lürssen develops and builds the world’s first remote-controlled boat

The HAVEL is 13 metres long and is remotely steered with the aid of a wire.

Lürssen is the first to use a Voith Schneider propeller

Lürssen builds its first experimental boat with a Voith Schneider propeller.

Lürssen speedboat sets world record

Lürssen is the first to reach a speed of of 68.2 km/h, or around 37 knots, with a speedboat. Gert Lürßen himself sets the record on the Weser River.

Lürssen builds the world’s fastest motor yacht

SHERGAR is powered by two MTU diesel engines and two Allison gas turbines with an overall output of 16,100 hp, which take her to speeds of up to 45 knots.

Lürssen develops the world’s first common mounting of drive and energy systems

Main engines, gearbox and generators are mounted on a large common frame, thereby achieving extremely low noise and vibration levels.

Lürssen pioneers research into underwater exhaust systems for yachts

The findings form the basis for optimum positioning of the exhaust system to minimise backpressure, noise and emissions.

Lürssen is the first to use a common rail engine for a displacement yacht

A common rail engine as the main engine enables SKAT to reduce her emissions and fuel consumption to a minimum.

Lürssen builds the world’s first yacht with a pod drive

Lürssen builds the 90-metres ICE with a pod drive. The benefits: extremely high level of maneouverability, low noise level, reduced fuel consumption.

Lürssen delivers the world’s largest private sailing yacht

EOS has an overall length of 93 metres.To reduce noise levels in the interior when running the engine, she also incorporates the first active engine mounting system in a yacht.

Lürssen is the first shipyard to use process heating on a yacht

Lürssen is the first shipyard to harness process heat on a large scale in a yacht. On board the 156-metres AL SAID, process heat from the engines is used to help desalinate seawater for drinking.

AZZAM world’s longest private yacht

Lürssen delivers Azzam the longest yacht in the world. She not only sets a record with regard to her length of 180 metres and a speed of more than 30 knots – but also her building time of less than three years is record-breaking.

DILBAR world’s biggest private yacht by GT

Lürssen delivers the 156-metres yacht Dilbar – the biggest motor yacht in the world by gross tonnage. Without a doubt Dilbar is one of the most complex and challenging yachts that has ever been built, both in terms of dimension and technology. With a gross tonnage of 15,917 t, Dilbar provides spaces in the interior which have never been seen on a yacht before. The impressive project was finished in an astonishing 52 months.

Friedrich Lürßen founded our shipyard in 1875

Friedrich was not the first member of the Lürssen family to build boats – his father Lüder, born in 1805, was a boat-builder and had founded his own shipyard in the 1830s. Many of Lüder’s ancestors were also seafarers or boat-builders.

Bilgin Yachts has announced the forthcoming global debut of luxury charter yacht ETERNAL SPARK at the 2024 Monaco Yacht Show . As a flagship model in the Bilgin 163 series, this meticulously crafted charter yacht promises to set new standards in luxury yachting. 

The unveiling of luxury yacht rental ETERNAL SPARK represents a landmark event for both Bilgin Yachts and the global yachting community. Alongside her, two more exceptional yachts from Bilgin Yachts will also be featured at the Monaco Yacht Show; 155.10ft (47.5m) motor yacht charter STARBURST III , and 137.6ft (41.9m)  superyacht KASIF  will further elevate the exhibition.

An epitome of luxury with unparalleled attention to detail, ETERNAL SPARK's exterior and naval architecture by Unique Yacht Design showcases sleek, sporty lines complemented by expansive open decks and modern functionality. Emrecan Özgün, CEO of Unique Yacht Design, highlights the focus on "expansive, sheltered open decks," creating beautifully interconnected areas like the grand beach club and stunning sundeck. These features ensure all Mediterranean yacht charter guests enjoy seamless sea access and ultimate comfort on board.

The intricate furniture and spacious living areas reflect Bilgin’s dedication to luxury and comfort. We employed the latest technologies to ensure Eternal Spark delivers peak performance and safety. Halil Uzunbabalar, Senior Project Manager

Key highlights of the motor yacht charter include outdoor and indoor cinemas, a 5,000-liter Jacuzzi pool on the sundeck, and a spacious beach club with a sauna. The transformer swim platform provides easy access to the sea for action-packed watersports yacht charters . 

Keeping all charter guests busy, the toy garage onboard luxury yacht charter ETERNAL SPARK includes: 

• 2 x Seadoo Jet Skis
• 2 x F5 SR SEABOBs
• 2 x Foil boards
