Located on the beautiful Mission Bay waterfront, The Dana Marina offers 140 slips on five separate docks and can accommodate boats ranging from 20 - 70 feet,. In the heart of the world-famous Mission Bay Aquatic Park, the marina is only one mile from the open Pacific Ocean. Sharing the lush tropical atmosphere of the hotel, the Dana Marina is quiet and family-friendly. Marina boat owners can also enjoy resort amenities , including our two outdoor pools and Firefly Eatery & Bar.

A launch ramp, fuel dock, market/tackle shop, and boating supplies store are conveniently located next door to The Dana on Mission Bay.  With our beautiful setting and conscientious service, the Dana Marina is truly unique among San Diego marinas.

The Dana Marina has the following conventional slip sizes:

  • 25 Feet - $406.00 base monthly rate
  • 30 Feet - $562.25 base monthly rate
  • 35 Feet - $710.00 base monthly rate
  • 40 Feet and larger-- uniquely priced depending on size

Additional options:

  • Unique side-ties and end-ties accommodating larger boats, from 36 to 70 feet (monthly fees from $740 to $1300, depending on size).
  • Limited number of slips smaller than 25 feet (fees vary and are uniquely priced, according to size and access).
  • Utility fees are additional.

All Dana Marina monthly slip rates are subject to change and availability and are based on an automatic payment plan.

Daily Guest Slips

For the convenience of our visiting boaters, we offer daily 25-foot guest slips exclusively to Dana hotel guests. Due to a limited quantity of spaces, advance reservations are required. For further information or to visit the Dana Marina, call Dockmaster Ted Bremer at 619-225-2141. The marina office is open Monday through Saturday.

Membership Categories at Mission Bay Yacht Club

Mission Bay Yacht Club (MBYC) offers a range of membership categories tailored to different needs and interests within the boating community. Each category is designed to provide specific privileges and responsibilities, ensuring members can enjoy the club’s facilities and activities in a way that best suits their lifestyle. Here’s an overview of the various membership options available:

Flag Member

  • Eligibility : Must own a boat, which qualifies under the club’s By-Laws. Co-owners must both/all be members.
  • Responsibilities : Required to pay all applicable dues and fees.
  • Privileges : Full membership benefits including voting rights and eligibility for elective office.

Social Member

  • Eligibility : Does not need to own a boat.
  • Privileges : Can participate in club activities but without voting rights or eligibility for elective office. May upgrade to Flag or Junior Flag status upon acquiring a qualifying boat.

Non-Resident

  • Eligibility : Must initially join as either a Flag or Social Member and reside outside the County of San Diego.
  • Privileges : Enjoy all the privileges of Flag Members except for voting and elective privileges.

Junior Flag Member

  • Eligibility : Ages 18 to under 30, and a boat owner with all co-owners also being members.
  • Privileges : No voting or elective office privileges. Eligible to apply for Flag membership after five years of active participation before age 35, with no additional fee.

Military Member

  • Privileges : Membership is extended for no more than three years with no voting or elective office privileges, designed specifically for military personnel.

Junior Member

  • Eligibility : Aged 12 to 21.
  • Responsibilities : Must re-apply each January and pay all applicable dues and fees.
  • Privileges : No guest privileges; participation in junior activities.

Sandpiper Member

  • Eligibility : Aged 7 to 11.
  • Privileges : No guest privileges; participation in youth activities.

Slip Reservations at our San Diego Marina

Reserve a permanent slip.

Rates range from $28 to $60 per foot based on boat length over all (LOA) or slip LOA (whichever is longer). Water and garbage service are included and electricity is based on current price per kilowatt from San Diego Gas & Electric. Deposits include two months’ slip fees, $50 per gate key, $50 per parking key, and $50 per parking placard. All slips are month-to-month.

*BEFORE YOU APPLY Please note, there is a $50 non-refundable application fee. We suggest you email the Marina Staff an inquiry with the make, year, LOA, and some current photos of the vessel before you apply to ensure that the boat meets our standards. Boats are selected based on what will safely occupy an available space as well as the value and condition of the vessel in order to reduce overall liability for the property. That being said, wait times may vary greatly, and the Marina is not liable for extended wait times or the denial of an application.

Reserve a temporary slip

The rate is $5/ft per day and it is a three day minimum stay. Boat owner must provide registration/documentation, proof of insurance with $500,000 minimum liability, and a recent photo of the boat.
