The 76.6m/251'4" expedition yacht 'Yersin' by shipyard Piriou offers flexible accommodation for up to 12 guests in 8 cabins and features interior styling by Owner.

For adventures off the beaten track, Expedition yacht Yersin has all the bells and whistles, designed to offer a sublime combination of luxury and convivial spaces that serve to welcome you from the moment you step onboard. She is equipped with a beauty salon, spa, elevator and gym.

Guest Accommodation

Built in 2015, Yersin offers guest accommodation for up to 12 guests in 8 suites comprising a master suite, one VIP cabin, two double cabins and four twin cabins. The supremely spacious full beam master suite incorporates its own study and dressing room. There are 12 beds in total, including 1 king, 3 doubles and 8 singles. There are up to twenty-two crew members on board to provide outstanding service on your charter.

Onboard Comfort & Entertainment

Keeping comfortable and entertained on Yersin is easy thanks to the available amenities, notably a state-of-the-art movie theatre for movie nights. Yersin is home to a beauty salon, where guests can enjoy a number of beauty treatments and in addition for the ultimate relaxation experience, she plays host to a luxury spa. Take a plunge in the pool under the sun or a gym with all the latest equipment is available for a good work out. Sit back with a glass of champagne in the deck jacuzzi.

Yersin benefits from some excellent features to improve your charter, notably an elevator, making any part of the yacht quickly and easily accessible. For those needing to take care of work at sea, conference facilities are available to make business on board that much easier and in addition take advantage of the on board Wi-Fi and stay connected at all times. You can stay comfortable on board whatever the weather, with air conditioning during your charter.

Performance & Range

Yersin is built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure. Powered by twin Caterpillar engines, she comfortably cruises at 11 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 15 knots with a range of up to 12,000 nautical miles from her 402,000 litre fuel tanks at cruising speed. An advanced stabilisation system on board reduces the side-to-side roll of the yacht and promises guests exceptional comfort levels at anchor or when underway.

When not cruising Yersin has onboard an incredible selection of water toys and accessories for you and your guests to connect with the waters around you. Principle among these is a Tiwal sailboat to bring out the explorer in you. Another excellent feature are towable toys offering fun and adventure. Additionally, there are waterskis that are hugely entertaining whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro. If that isn't enough Yersin also features wakeboards, kayaks, scuba diving equipment, paddleboards and snorkelling equipment. Yersin features four tenders, but leading the pack is a 7.5m/24'7" Zodiac RIB to transport you in style.

She can access the world’s most remote destinations and ice covered areas with her reinforced hull. In addition to her explorer capabilities, the vessel integrates clean technologies to ensure a minimal impact on the ocean.

Designed for long-range transoceanic sailing in extreme conditions (-20 C°, + 50 C°), she has a high degree of reliability in all weather and seas. Conceived as a true explorer, she features a range of multi-function tenders, research laboratories, a classroom/conference room, media room, hospital and professional diving facility.

YERSIN’s interior is designed with the highest possible comfort levels in mind. The owner suite is large with an office, comfortable seating area and a spacious ensuite. The guests suites are located in the vessels “calm zone” to experience the highest possible comfort and low noise level at sea and they can be reconfigured from a single to a double queen size, all featuring a large ensuite.

The lower deck is dedicated to wellbeing and is composed of a large fitness area with a treadmill, dance bar, weights, resistance bands and yoga mats. Yersin has a remarkable fuel efficiency. At a cruising speed of 11 knots, her electric propulsion gives the ship a consumption rate of 360-litres of fuel per hour, at nine knots, the consumption drops to 180-litres per hour. Her biological treatment plant recycles all waste-water. Some UV lights eradicate the remaining bacteria, this water can be used to ballast or wash the deck. A waste-water ballast are preferred instead of seawater in order to prevent the spread of invasive species across the ocean. Yersin engines exhaust circulates through Particle filters to prevent 99.8% of the soot from entering the atmosphere.

Yersin uses artificial teak, a greener and hardier alternative to traditional teak wood on deck, an endangered species, traditionally used on yachts decks. A GPS positioning system keeps the yacht in position avoiding to drop an anchor on a fragile marine ecosystems.

YERSIN interior is inspired by the 1930’s passenger ships with the highest possible comfort. The noise and vibration levels underway and at anchor are significantly low. Yersin interior Design is elegant combining modern lines with classic elements like Perzel light fixture, famous designer of the cruise liner Normandie. Most of the furniture and art pieces relates to the cruise liners spirit.

The owner suite is large with an office on starboard side and a settee on port. A super king size bed is leaning against the dressing located at entrance next to a kitchenette. A large bathroom with a wide shower and a tub complete this extremely comfortable suite. The guests suites are located in the vessel “calm zone” to experience the highest possible comfort and low noise level at sea; their beds are modulable and can be organised from a single to a double queen size. A large ensuite bathroom with ample shower complements this cabin.

The lower deck is dedicated to wellbeing and is composed of a large sport section with a treadmill and a runner. For the one preferring a different sport activity, dance bar with an espalier gymnastic are available. A bench with a set of weights, resistance bands and Yoga mats completes this fitness room. Next to it, a relaxing zone with a lounge-bed, a massage room, a Jacuzzi, an Hammam and a large shower complete the SPA. A guest elevator will take you from the Spa to the sun 6 decks above where you will enjoy an all-around panoramic view. There you will share the friendly atmosphere over teppanyaki treats and a good drink whilst looking at the midnight sun comfortably installed in sofas.

Dr. Yersin, the evidence

The name of the boat had to resonate with the project, a name that “sticks” to the words Adventure, Science, Education. The name of Yersin was imposed by himself. Dr. Alexandre Yersin (1863 – 1943) is little known from the public. Yet we owe much to him. He worked with the famous doctors Pasteur, Roux and Calmette. He was doctor of the Méssageries Maritime and discovered Indochina where he will live fifty years. He founded the Pasteur Institute of Nha Trang and the Medical School of Hanoi (1902). His fame is due to his research on diphtheria toxin and his discovery of the plague bacillus (1894). He acclimates the rubber tree (one of the current greatest resources of Vietnam) and the Quinine tree. From 1902 to his death he devoted himself to the local populations of Vietnam. He also discovered the Dalat which became a climatic station.

Exterior Design & Engineering

YERSIN yacht is unlike any other. Commissioned by an experienced yacht owner & designed by PJ Kubis, YERSIN's dark hull demonstrates a distinctive aesthetic, complementing her robust exterior design engineered to navigate through extreme conditions.

This vessel's defining characteristics lie in her ability to venture into remote and unspoiled environments in waters from -20°C to +50°C. Equipped with a dynamic positioning technology, she adheres to a protocol of no anchoring to prevent seabed damage. Her underwater hull coating with silicon “non-biocide” antifouling enables access to maritime protected regions. With her azipods enhancing manoeuvrability, YERSIN is well-equipped to navigate diverse waterways, from open seas to inland lakes and rivers.

YERSIN’s Schottel diesel electric propulsion system provides economical fuel consumption with an autonomy of 12,000 nm, and is paired with a 99.8% exhaust filtration system. Onboard she has advanced water treatment and recycling solutions with an oversized dry and cold food storage and garbage treatment facility allowing for extended self-sufficient cruising. YERSIN’s autonomy is also obtained by an extensive spare parts stock and a fully equipped engineering department allowing to carry on most maintenance and repairs onboard.

YERSIN’s interior features a guest elevator serving all six decks, expansive living spaces and class certified furnishings.

The main deck offers a spacious and comfortable environment for extended stays with large groups. This space comprises a dining area which can also be used for projection and has all connections for video conferencing, a welcome area and a fully equipped bar.

The upper deck offers a well-positioned meridian sofa which enjoys scenic views through the large windows and is complemented with a dining area, bar and sushi bar. On the same deck, there is a library and a cinema with 4K projection.

The pool deck features a sheltered lounging space and is equipped with a teppanyaki galley along with two large sun pads. The outdoor living spaces have been designed to resist the most extreme weather conditions while allowing guests to appreciate uninterrupted viewing points.

On the lower deck, there is a wellness area including a gym, massage room, hair salon, jacuzzi and hammam. Meanwhile the aft swimming platform provides tender access through to the diving station.

YERSIN’s true attraction lies in research features such as a laboratory, and a versatile classroom. A section is designated for cleaning of outdoor equipment, all essential for extended exploration voyages, as is the presence of a hospital.

Interior Design

The interior of YERSIN yacht has been meticulously thought through by the Owner together with PJ Kubis and interior outfitting by Agencement Paul Champs. Her decoration recalls the great era of upscale passenger ships such as Le France, featuring Maison Lalique crafts and les Messageries Maritimes de La Ciotat art work. Her walls are decorated with varying wood grains and inventive light. Furniture is dressed in a range of textures and earthy tones, creating a calm environment to spend time onboard.

YERSIN yacht for sale has accommodation for up to 18 guests across eight cabins. Her Owner's suite is equipped with a private pantry, a walk-in wardrobe, king size bed, two private terraces, an office and two salons.
