This trip feels like rip-off. We booked it to actually see some fish, but the glass bottom on our boat was no way close to the pictures you see on the website. There were only two rows of tiny ~40x70cm windows that appear to have been cleaned a long time ago. When asking about the situation, the answer was ‘we changed the boat, we have more than one – either you take or leave it…’ quite an option with kids that are excited for a boat ride -.-
So I certainly don’t recommend to book it, if you intend to use the glass bottom.
If you just want to go on a boat ride, it’s okay. But be aware, that if the 2 hours ride, ~40 minutes are spent picking up other passengers along the coast.
Amazing views and swimming stops. Me and my 10 year old son really enjoyed. The crew was happy and friendly, they really made the trip so wonderful!

Marvel at the untouched natural beauty of Mallorca aboard your catamaran rental and cruise along more than 300 nautical miles of coastline.
Mallorca is an ideal place for a catamaran rental! This is not only due to the beautiful landscapes and awe-inspiring sights, but also thanks to the island’s accessibility. The airport in Palma is easy to reach from all major airports, as well as regional airports. This makes Mallorca a popular holiday destination all year round.
Palma de Mallorca, the capital of the Balearic Islands, is a popular choice amongst sailors from all over the world. Mallorca’s most populous city is home to Son San Juan Airport. If you fly into this airport, you will be able to access the port very easily. Palma is an immensely popular starting point for catamaran rentals in Mallorca, and additionally offers many gorgeous historical sites as well as a host of restaurants, bars and shopping opportunities.
Whilst a large number of charter bases are found in Palma, it is also possible for you to start your journey in Porto Colom (located on the south coast) or in Pollensa (in the north).
Although Mallorca and the rest of the Balearic Islands belong to Spain, they are administered by an autonomous government. This government has designated some stretches of coastline as marine protected areas, where diving or fishing is only allowed with a permit.
The climate on the Mallorcan coast is pleasantly subtropical, with temperatures often between 24 °C and 30 °C onland in the summer months. Mallorca boasts approximately 300 days of sun a year. Precipitation is most frequent in the autumn months as the island sometimes experiences short but heavy downpours.
Water depths and tides on the coast of mallorca.
Unlike other less exposed areas of the Mediterranean, the swell can be particularly high around the Balearic Islands. Between March and June, the north wind Tramontana causes the swell to become high and steep. Even when there is no wind, a wind-based, old swell can occur.
If you are planning to rent a catamaran in Mallorca, it is important to be aware that the winds often change, depending on the time of year. Between March and June, you will encounter either the north wind Tramontana or the north-east wind Mistral. However, in July and August, you will find easterly to south-easterly winds instead. Following this, in September and October, Mistral and Tramontana become dominant once again. Winter, on the other hand, is mostly windless.
Due to the ever-changing nature of the wind, you will experience the best wind conditions for a catamaran charter from June to September. The prevailing summer wind is from the east-southeast, which normally starts around noon and measures from three to six BFT. This then dies down as evening approaches.
La seu, palma’s gothic cathedral.
The construction of the cathedral began in 1230, but it was not until the 16th/17th century that it was completed. However, it is due to the work of Antoni Gaudi that the cathedral appears in its present form.
This palace is a former Arab fortress and boasts beautiful gardens which are perfect for long walks or for relaxing.
Visit Mallorca’s most beautiful and best-known beach and enjoy a day of ultimate relaxation as you splash around in the sea and chill out on the sand. To access this beach during your catamaran rental, anchor at Ses Covetes.
Located near the harbour, the museum was built in a modern style and incorporates the walls of the 16th century San Pere fortress. The café and restaurant can be found on the battlements of the bastion and feature stunning panoramic views over the port of Palma.
Don’t miss out on a trip Palma’s largest and most centrally located indoor market which is situated on Placa Olivar. The Santa Catalina market (in the former fishermen’s quarter) is known for its tapas and also for its bodegas which offer wine straight from the barrel.
These stalactite caves are located approximately two kilometres from the harbour. A visit to the caves will take about an hour and includes a classical concert and a boat trip across Lake Martel.
Board the historic railway and travel through the middle of the Serra de Tramunta to Sollér. After this, take the old tram to the Puerto de Sollér port and spend the day relaxing in one of the many cafés and restaurants or strolling along the wondrous harbour. You can also anchor your catamaran here and take a trip from the port to Palma.
In order to operate a catamaran in the Balearic Islands, you need the International Certificate of Competence for Inland and Coastal Waters or the Sport-coastal Ship-licence (SKS/BR).
From the airport it is a 20 minute drive to the port in Palma. It takes a little longer to get to Pollensa (45 minutes) and Porto Colom (60 minutes).
Tip: Before you leave, check that you have all the necessary documents so that your trip can be as easy as possible!

Very nice boat just refurbished , great size for 2 families. Very accomodating crew. We were a bit disappointed by the southern coast of Mallorca overbuilt and overcrowded. Mike and the crew made it an enjoyable experience overall.
Fantastic experience, everything went perfectly smooth except for the fact that we were forced to return the boat early while the guy next to us returned at his preferred time, but that's life I guess

“My group and I had an incredible bachelorette party in Palma thanks to this excursion to the coves on a sailboat. The boss Alberto made us all fall in love. The spectacular scenery and the unique experience at sea made it an unforgettable day for all of us. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and memorable send-off. Thank you for creating a special moment for us!”
“My night on the catamaran in Palma with sunset and a party with a DJ was one of the best experiences of my life. Watching the sunset from the sea was just amazing, and the live music and party on the boat were the icing on the cake. The team was very professional and friendly, and they did everything possible to make us feel comfortable and enjoy ourselves to the fullest. The patron is also a love. I would recommend it to anyone who wants an unforgettable night on the islands! Thanks for creating a memorable experience!”
“We were a group of 50 people, two exclusive catamarans in Pollensa, and a pneumatic to make trips and bring people. Joaquin’s organizational work was impressive. We had a wonderful day all day. The catamarans were spacious and comfortable, and the crew on board was very friendly and helpful. We were in Pollensa, a nearby cove that I don’t remember, but relaxing and swimming in the crystalline sea was very top. The food and drinks on board were excellent, and the music from the DJ was amazing. In short, they made everything special. I would recommend it to any group, party or company that wants to have a fun and memorable beach day. Regards LM.”
“As a travel agency, we love offering boat excursions to our clients, we have been working with Joaquin for 3 years. The excursion to the coves of Palma has been one of our most popular options since we are in Palma, customers ask us here. Clients always return with positive comments about how well they behave, the coves they see, the beaches and above all the comfort of the sailboat. In addition, it is a unique experience that combines relaxation, adventure and fun at sea, last year 2022 we even did a yoga course on the same sailboat. In short, we are delighted to continue offering this excursion to our clients and to continue creating unforgettable memories for them. Thank you Sailing Trips!”

Excellent charter - I recommend them!
Strategically positioned on ancient trading routs between Europe and Africa, these islands got their fair share of invaders: Greeks, Romans, Turks, etc. Christian kings, Arab rulers and Jewish merchants have all left their mark there. With a yacht charter in Mallorca you can easily explore its diverse architectural heritage, in colorful fiestas, ceremonies and cuisine.
Like mainland of Spain, the Balearics Islands have been inhabited since pre-historic times. So many invaders laid claim to them at various points in history. Both Catalan and Castilian Spanish are spoken in the Balearics Islands, which has been an autonomous region since 1983.
One of the Balearic Islands yacht charter bases is located in Mallorca, a beautiful mountainous island, with rolling hills, sandy beaches and stalagmite caves. It's landscape, culture and entertainment offers a wide range of experiences during your sailing vacation. And it is also by far the most culturally rich.
The great Polish composer Frederic Chopin stayed at the monastery of Valldemossa with his lover Aurora Dupin, better known as the French novelist George Sand, in the winter of 1838, where he composed his 24 preludes. The English poet Robert Graves hosted Pablo Picasso and actors Alec Guiness and Peter Ustinov at his house. The painter and sculptor Joan Miro also found his home here. His works are on display in the Fundacio Pilar i Joan Miro, on the outskirts of Palma.
Yacht charter Mallorca is incredibly diverse in its landscape, architecture, culture or just entertainment. There is so much to enjoy in Palma during a sailing vacation: from stunning nature reserves and charming fishing villages to picturesque ruins and impressive country estates. With bareboat or skippered charter you'll get whatever you want here: wonderful beaches and vibrant nightlife with dancing and music, or rural retreats with sedate and peaceful atmosphere.
The climate is mild, typically Mediterranean, with dry and sunny summer. During July and August, average temperature raises to 75 – 85 F with stable light winds from 5 to 15 knots. The winds are predominantly southeast on the west part of the island and northwest on the eat part. July marks the beginning of the peak sailing season, which will last till the end of September. Cold winters are very rare in this area, with average temperature around 60 F, Palma boat rentals are available the year round. Nights are cold, but days are mostly sunny with partial clouds. The highest rainfall is usually between October and December. All in all, the weather is very pleasant and mild all year around.
The average temperature in December-January in navigation area near Balearic Islands is mild. The average max temperature is 18 C and the minimum temperature 13 C. But it’s quite frequent to have a few days with 20 C or above.
It’s necessary to be equipped with warm clothes and waterproof jackets, but don’t be afraid it is just a precaution and if sunny and on land, you will have chance to wear T-shirt.
All boats are supplied with bed linen and warm blankets; additional heaters are also available to make the main saloon and cabins warm and toasty in almost any conditions.
Nevertheless you should keep in mind that it is better to bring all staff in soft bags or backpacks because space on the boat is limited. Take the most comfortable clothes (wool socks, wool sweater, waterproof jackets, water resistant shoes, wool hats), sunglasses, and protective sun cream, personal medicines, toilette accessories and gloves.
The island's north-west coast is especially scenic, with its terraced cliff sides and hidden coves. Once you venture away from crowds, this area will give you a pleasant sense of isolation. It's craggy coast is dotted with watch towers, ancient monasteries and churches and picturesque idyllic villages.
Sun Marroig, estate of 18th century, has been converted into a museum with a great collection of pottery and paintings.
Mirador del Ses Animes, the former defense tower, standing on a steep rock, is visible from far away.
Port d'Andratx, used to be a small fishing port, now harbors expensive yachts for the rich and famous. The cute town, with its white shuttered houses and cobbled streets, lies in a valley, while the old watch towers are formidably standing on the hill above it.
Another popular attraction is the pearl factory at nearby Manacor.
On the island's east coast, near the fishing port of Porto Cristo, are the Caves of Drach, which contain one of the world's largest underground lakes.
Caves in Mallorca are formed out of limestone rocks. Some are the size of a cathedral with dripstones that form fantastic forms and are illuminated for better impression. Once they provided shelter for early settlers or hiding places for pirates. Although Mallorca has about 200 caves, only a few of them are open to public. And it's worth taking a tour! There is a number of caves with underground lakes. They have great acoustics and concerts can be performed by the musicians seated in boats.
Mallorca has about 80 beaches. The best are around Badia de Palma. Some of the beaches include restaurants, fun parks, water sports and beachside bars. But it is still possible to find secluded beaches: however they may have quite a few facilities and could be difficult to reach.
Palma over the years has transformed itself from a provincial town into a metropolis. With a quarter of a million residents, it is Mallorca's main city and the capital of Baleares province. It captivates you by the evident signs of its rich history: dominant cathedrals, grand public buildings, exquisite private mansions.
On a hill overlooking the port there is Bellver Castle, a fine example of the 14th century military architecture. Caiman Forum Palma, built in 1902, the most impressive 20th century building, now serves as a cultural center. Palau Reial de I'Almudaina, the former royal residence built in 1309, is now turned into a museum. And here is the Gothic Cathedral, built of golden sandstone, is one of the most breathtaking buildings in Spain. Palma Cathedral is one of the best-sited cathedrals anywhere - it is positioned high on the sea wall towering over the harbor. The construction began in 1230 and finished in 1601. At the beginning of the century Antonio Gaudi remodeled most of its interior.
Among other structures of interest are Arab Baths of the 10th century, Church of San Francisco of the 13th century and The Forn Teatro (Theater Bakery), well-known for its impressive facade and it's delicious pastries.
Spanish cuisine is as varied as the country itself. Good quality local cuisine is always available. Most of the Balearic dishes are Catalan in origin: ensaimadas - spiral pastries dusted with icing sugar or sobrasadas - spicy pork pates.
But the influence of each occupying force over the centuries - Arabs, French or British – also has left its mark on the local cuisine, as well. Sobrasada - a sausage-meat spread. Embutits – cured meats. Surrounded by water, there is no wonder that seafood (especially lobster and cray fish) predominates here. Caldereta de llagosta (lobster stue), once a simple fishermen's dish is now a delicacy. The classic Mallorcan dish is Pa Amb Oli, a slice of toasted bread rubbed with garlic and drizzled with local olive oil. Tapas are popular bite-sized snacks, often served hot with chilled wine or beer.

La Luna is now in Puerto Alcudia. | Isaac Hernández Rubio
La Luna , the yacht that hit the fishing boat off Cala Bona two weeks ago, killing 20-year-old Guiem Comamala, was moved from Porto Cristo to Puerto Alcudia on Thursday.
In dry dock at the Alcudiamar marina, the Guardia Civil started a thorough inspection of the hull and propeller on Friday. A series of dents and damage near the propeller and on the bow were examined and a photographic report made.
More related news.
Prior to the transfer to Alcudia, data related to the yacht's movement and stored in the 'black box' were analysed in Porto Cristo on Wednesday.
These inspections require the assistance of specialists. They come at a price, and it is understood that the yacht's owner, Klaus Viehof, has offered to pay the costs .
His son, Dennis, who was skippering La Luna on the night of August 23, is under formal investigation for possible manslaughter and failure to assist . He and others who were on board the yacht have told investigators that they were unaware of the collision with the fishing boat.

Police have found a body in the search for a British man missing in a mountainous area of Majorca where a 26-year-old British woman was found dead earlier this week.
Both are believed to have been swept away in a flash flood on the Spanish island, which was hit with torrential rains and stong winds this week.
Spain’s Civil Guard said both people were on a trail that leads through a small canyon to the sea when the storm hit the Mediterranean island on Tuesday.
Emergency services have been searching the area near the Torrent de Pareis canyon in the Tramuntana mountains since Wednesday.
The man’s body was found on Friday, the Civil Guard told Reuters.
The force said earlier this week that it had rescued 10 people who became trapped in the canyon by a torrent of water.
The Civil Guard said on Thursday: “Officers were able to save the lives of 10 people who were trapped, without protective clothing, and completely soaked. They were transferred to safety using guides to assist them.
“Once they reached a safe spot the rescued walkers, two Spaniards and the rest French, German and British, told us two members of a group of five who were among those assisted had been swept away by a torrent of water and they had been unable to do anything to save them and didn’t know where they were.
“A separate search and rescue operation was mobilised until nightfall which began again today with assistance from firefighters.”
The dramatic gorge which leads to a hidden beach is often flooded from autumn until spring, and has no easy exits because of its sheer cliffs, according to a local tourism website.
The Balearic Islands and a large area of Spain’s eastern coast were under alert for strong winds and heavy rains earlier in the week.
Thunderstorms over Barcelona led the organisers of the America’s Cup sailing event to postpone racing, after lightning struck near a yacht on Tuesday, forcing a race to be abandoned.
