ABOUT SABRE

SABRE is a 78-foot Ocean-Voyager sailing catamaran, the first of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. South Sea Cruises, who own and operate South Sea Sailing, commissioned this vessel after seeing a gap in the Fiji market for a comfortable, modern-day cruise vessel that actually sails. Being a catamaran, this is the perfect vessel for those that are not used to the sea as it doesn’t heel over and offers a smooth, comfortable ride for people to not only enjoy the sailing and the view but the onboard food and beverage experience at the same time.  Think of this as your floating paradise!

SEATING OPTIONS

There are plenty of seating options onboard including booths around the outer edge of the main deck area which seat up to 6 people, additional booths in the central decking area, two forward-facing daybeds, and bean bags suspended above the water on the ‘trampoline’ area up the front of the boat. The large canopy covering most of the boat offers shade for those that want it or head up the front of the boat to bask in the glorious Fiji sunshine.

There are also four reserved booths that seat up to 5 or 6 people which can be booked ahead of time and come with a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine.

Enjoy a full day sailing experience with South Sea Sailing around Fiji’s Mamanuca Islands onboard our brand new sailing catamaran, Sabre.

Cruise through the Mamanuca Islands with the day’s itinerary dependent on the warm tropical breezes and sea conditions, creating a one-off experience every day.

SABRE has large shaded canopies with a range of seating options from bean bags to booths, there is plenty of room to enjoy the idyllic islands and atolls of these beautiful islands. Enjoy an experience like no other on Fiji’s newest day trip.

The Mamanuca Islands of Fiji are situated just off the coast of Nadi and are within easy access of Port Denarau. On this day sailing experience, you will sail around this beautiful group of islands stopping to swim and relax on the sand as well as stopping to snorkel at abundant tropical reefs. With snorkelling gear provided and easy access off the front of SABRE via stairs or a slide, this is the best way to see these islands and take home memories to last a lifetime.

• We have a secure payment page with payment options of either Credit Card, Western Union or Bank to Bank transfer .All payment is in FJD (Fijian dollars)
• Please note that you`ll pay (approx.2% to 4%) surcharge on credit card payments on the remaining balance but you can avoid that if you prefer to pay cash.
• As you book with us we'll send you an " Order Pending " email to inform we have received this. We then book your tour as fast as possible and send you a second " Booking Confirmed " email with all the relevant details. You can keep the soft or hard copy of this voucher to present it to the reservation.

Enjoy the Romance of a Fijian Sunset with a tropical BBQ Dinner

Welcome aboard the Fiji One, Fiji’s most prestigious charter vessel and one of the largest sailing catamarans in the Southern Hemisphere. From 5:30pm it's time to sit back and relax with a complimentary welcome drink and take in the spectacular views, while our team of local chefs prepare a sumptuous tropical buffet feast from fresh local ingredients. As we cruise amongst the magnificent Mamanuca Islands, you’ll be treated to traditional Fijian cultural entertainment, including the song and dance Fijians are famous for and dine on a superb buffet dinner, which includes the option to upgrade to whole lobster if desired (pre-bookings required). A typical dinner cruise menu would include a choice of steak, chicken and fish of the day, accompanied by vegetables and salads and followed up with a mouth watering tropical dessert. Our chefs are also able to cater for most diets and food allergies, providing plenty of notice is given prior to the cruise.

The Mamanuca Islands are a stunning volcanic archipelago west of Nadi comprising around 20 palm fringed islands which contain some of Fiji’s most well known resorts. Their crystal clear waters, pristine coral reefs and white sandy beaches form the perfect backdrop for our idyllic evening on the water. Our Sunset Dinner Cruise is 3 hours and departs between 5 pm and returns 8 pm (seasonal) from Tuesday to Sunday and the cost includes complimentary transfers from Nadi and Denarau hotels. So if you’re staying at a local hotel or resort and would like to experience the beauty of Fiji from the water, this romantic sunset cruise is not to be missed.To make it even easier to decide, the cruise can be booked open dated and there is no charge for date changes up to 12 hours prior, so you can choose when you’d like to go. Where are the Mamanuca Islands?

Situated on the island of Viti Levu, Nadi International Airport is the main gateway to Fiji for the majority of visitors and the Mamanuca Islands are just off the west coast of Viti Levu, within clear sight of the mainland. This close proximity makes them easily accessible by small boat, ferry or chartered seaplane or helicopter. As well as being the closest island group to Nadi, the Mamanuca Islands are also arguably the most beautiful, with their palm fringed white sand beaches and crystal clear waters making them the logical choice of location for some of Fiji’s most popular resorts.

What is included in the menu?

The fresh, tropical buffet dinner on our Fiji Sunset Dinner Cruise is prepared on-board by a team of local chefs using fresh local ingredients to be enjoyed buffet-style in Fiji One’s air-conditioned dining room in front of a stunning sunset backdrop. The menu will typically consist of a choice of chicken, steak and fish of the day, accompanied by salads and fresh vegetables and followed by a delicious tropical dessert. Or for an additional cost, you can upgrade your culinary experience to a whole lobster (pre-bookings required). Our chefs can also cater for most special diets and food allergies, as long as they receive enough notice.

How many passengers are on board the dinner cruise and is it suitable for kids?

Fiji One is one of the largest sailing catamarans in the Southern Hemisphere and has a maximum capacity of 220 passengers, although, on our dinner cruises, around 100 guests seated at tables is a more typical number as each group has their own table. It is fully air-conditioned and boasts an upper deck,  main deck dining saloon and spacious foredeck with outdoor seating and viewing area. Along with our Tivua Island Day cruise, the dinner cruise is suitable for children, although no kids activities are provided due to its more relaxed, laid back nature. While onboard, children must be under the supervision of an adult at all times.

What is included in a dinner cruise?

Our Fiji Sunset Dinner Cruise includes a complimentary welcome drink when you board our luxury catamaran, Fiji One. Also included in the price is a delicious tropical buffet dinner prepared from fresh local ingredients by our team of local chefs and Fijian cultural entertainment, including the wonderful singing and dancing that Fijians are famous for. Our dinner cruise also includes complimentary transfers from your Nadi or Denarau hotel plus the ultimate inclusion, some of the most beautiful sunsets in the world. For an additional cost, you can also upgrade your dinner experience to include a lobster main course, although you will need to pre-book ahead of time.

What are the key differences between a day cruise and a dinner cruise?

The difference between our Fiji Sunset Dinner Cruise and our Tivua Island Day Cruise is that our dinner cruise is all about relaxation, great food and stunning views, while our day cruise is about fun water based activities such as snorkelling, stand up paddleboarding, kayaking and glass bottom boat tours. While both cruises include a sumptuous buffet meal and plenty of our famous Fijian hospitality, our day cruise is particularly family-friendly, with a Captain’s Kids Club on Tivua Island. The main thing they both have in common though is that whichever cruise you choose, a wonderful time is guaranteed.

What time and duration is the Sunset Dinner Cruise?

The Sunset Dinner cruise departs at 5.30pm for 3 hours. May to September the departure is 5pm due to an earlier sunset.

Castaway Island Fiji

Island resort day trip.

Spend the day at one of Fiji’s most beautiful and popular resorts boasting two pools. Lunch and snorkelling gear are included.

• Description

Cruise out to Castaway Island on our high-speed catamaran, as we drop off/pick up passengers from other resorts enroute, then see the beauty of the resort stretching before you as you’re welcomed ashore. With 5 hours on the island, there is plenty of time to laze in the sun beneath swaying palms at one of their two beaches and enjoy snorkelling in the crystal-clear waters over coral reefs straight off the beach. A limit of 20 passengers per day means an exclusive small group trip complete with a day trip escort/host.

Activities The resort facilities include two fresh-water swimming pools, multiple bars, resort boutique, island massage, and a range of water sports equipment (note that a refundable deposit is required). Kids Club and motorised water sports are also available at an additional cost.

Food and Drinks A delicious two-course à la carte or buffet lunch is included in your day trip and drinks can be purchased at the resort. If you require a vegetarian option, please specify in the ‘special requirements’ box when you go through the booking process Timetable

Passengers travel from/to Port Denarau with the following schedule:

• Return pre-booked coach transfers to/from Port Denarau to/from most Nadi, Denarau, and Wailoaloa hotels/resorts. Check the coach timetable  here  for times
• Return vessel transfers from/to Port Denarau on our high-speed catamaran
• Two-course à la carte or buffet lunch (drinks are additional)
• Full use of Castaway Island Fiji facilities and 5 hours on the island
• Use of snorkelling gear, kayaks, paddle boards, and sailing (a refundable deposit is taken)
• Exclusive small group trip with day cruise escort/host
• Two pools, one with a swim-up bar
• Optional kids club (3 – 12 years, additional cost payable at the resort)

What to bring:

• Cash or credit/debit card for optional purchases
• Swimwear and towel
• Sunscreen and hat

*Children are aged 5 – 15 years inclusive. Infants 4 and under are free of charge however their meals are additional and can be purchased directly from the resort. All pricing is in FJD, includes taxes, and is valid for travel until 31 March 2025. Bookings paid by credit card or international debit card will incur a 2.5-3% non-refundable administration fee.

One of the best experiences I've had in a long time. The island was beautiful, super friendly staff always ready to help. Snorkeling and kayak equipment were complimentary. The food was great, and the infinity pool was something I'd never experienced. Highly recommended!

Best day trip in Fiji! Lots of activities, easy access to bus transfers and wonderful staff – very open and accommodating. If you're in Fiji it is a must do trip!

It was an amazing cruise with a delicious lunch and wine. We got to snorkel with colourful fish. We then spent the afternoon island hopping seeing other places we could stay. The Fijian show was excellent. We had a wonderful day.
