This Brand-New Sanlorenzo Is Open for Charter

Fraser has just welcomed the 187-foot Sanlorenzo Virtuosity to the charter fleet. This is a brand-new, 2023 build that will make its charter debut this winter in the Caribbean.

Virtuosity is one of Sanlorenzo’s 57Steel models with design by Zuccon International Project. The owner’s stateroom is on the upper deck with a private terrace and a hot tub. There are accommodations for another 10 guests in addition to the master, with several of the guest staterooms able to convert from twin- to double-berth setups.

Onboard amenities include a glass-bottom, heated swimming pool with jets; a beach club and gymnasium with foldout doors to port and starboard; a hammam and a sauna; a bridge-deck DJ booth near the bar and lounging area; and a custom-made inflatable platform as one of the watertoys.

After the yacht’s debut season this winter in the Caribbean, it’s expected to charter in the Mediterranean during summer 2024.

Mike Busacca appointed USA Commercial Director of Fraser Yachts

Lisa Peck at Fraser Yachts sends word that Mike Busacca has been appointed as its new Commercial Director for the USA, based in the Fort Lauderdale office.

Busacca will oversee all phases of sales and charter in North America, reporting directly to Luc Khaldoun, Worldwide Commercial Director of Fraser Yachts.

Mike began his career in yachting in 1983 at Broward Marine where he quickly rose through the ranks to become General Manager. In 1996 he joined Allied Richard Bertram Marine Group, where after various managerial roles he was appointed Executive Vice President until 2009, when he was promoted to President of their ‘Platinum Yacht Collection’ division.

‘We are very pleased to have Mike joining our team,’ says Luc Khaldoun. ‘He has an outstanding managerial background, and a long history in the yachting industry spanning over 25 years. Mike is a quality driven executive who I am confident will contribute significantly to Fraser’s continued growth and success in North America.’

Ann Avery – Northrop & Johnson – Yacht Broker

Charlie Birkett – Y.CO – Yacht Broker 

Charlie Birkett is a leading yacht broker and co-founder and CEO of Y.CO , based in Monaco. He started his career aged 16 when he left school to follow his passion for sailing. Hydrogen propulsion still has a ways to go in the marine industry, but don’t tell that to Fraser Yachts . The yachting company, which handles everything from chartering to new builds, has just unveiled a new catamaran powered by the eco-friendly fuel alternative.

Meet Aquon One . The futuristic new multihull, which is set for delivery in 2023, is designed to be an environmentally friendly boat that combines modern comforts with innovative green technologies for sustainable cruising sans noise and emissions.

Penned by Christian Grande , the “pocket superyacht” will be fitted with just shy of 700 square feet of solar panels on the flybridge roof. This will allow the cat to harness its own renewable energy, which will then be used to create hydrogen via fuel cells to power the two electric motors and the onboard amenities. Small lithium-ion batteries can store electricity in the short term, while carbon tanks can hold it long term.

Fraser says the 64-footer, which has an estimated top speed of 16 knots, will be able to cruise off-grid for several days. She’ll also have a virtually unlimited range, giving those aboard unprecedented independence at sea.

The eco-friendly ethos also carries through to the interior. Spread across more than 1,000 square feet, the upscale living quarters showcase a range of sustainable materials, such as light bamboo and recycled leather. It’s a smart yacht, too, meaning all the LED lights can be controlled from your phone.

As for the layout, the main deck is home to a large living area and dining room, while the lower deck is dedicated to the guest cabins. With space for up to eight seafarers, you can opt for two, three or four staterooms that can be customized with different sized beds and ensuites.

Outdoors, meanwhile, the terrace to the aft offers a dining table, sun lounge and direct access to the ocean. At the other end, the foredeck sports another sizable lounge for entertaining. Above, the flybridge comes equipped with a dining area for 12, along with a bar and grill.

Aquon One will be built by Latitude Yachts . According to Fraser, the full-service shipyard, which is behind some of the world’s largest luxury trimarans, will ensure the cat is finished within two years. The hydrogen-powered vessel is priced at €6 million (about $7 million at current exchange).
