“People that have decided to buy a yacht will now have to consider if their vessel of choice can also dive down to 200 meters,” U-Boat Worx chairman and founder Bert Houtman said in a statement.
The superyacht submarine will be able to stay underwater for up to four days, but can only cruise underwater for six hours at a time. As an added bonus, the Nautilus can make a quick escape in the face of choppy waters.
“If the sea becomes too rough, you simply dive and continue your voyage in comfort,” Houtman adds. “With the Nautilus, the yachting market will never be the same again.”
The luxurious interior offers all the comforts of a superyacht and can be fully customized by the client. As standard, the layout comprises a combined lounge and dining area of 538 square feet, along with a fully equipped galley, one owner’s suite, four staterooms and sleeping quarters for up to six crew. You’ll have some pretty incredible underwater views, too, thanks to the large circular windows throughout.
When above the water, seafarers can make use of the massive sundeck, which is equipped with a freshwater pool, a bar and an alfresco dining table. This area is neatly retracted before the sub slips below sea level, of course. The Nautilus is also fitted with a new, pressure-resistant electric tender called the Aronnax that can transport up to five seafarers to underwater dive spots. The tender is stowed under the aft deck and stays outside while the Nautilus is diving.

By Nina Done 11 October 2022
Dutch builder U-Boat Worx presented their thrilling new 37.5m (123ft) underwater superyacht concept to lucky visitors at the Monaco Yacht Show 2022 .
Dubbed Nautilus , the 1,250-ton diesel-electric vessel is a new class of hybrid submarine coupled with superyacht luxury with a range of on-board facilities. Capable of depths of up to 200m, the superyacht submarine will be able to remain underwater for up to 4 days.
With a series of 4-meter wide circular windows for spectacular underwater vistas, the proposed design features 50 sq. m of lounge and dining space, with acommodation comprising a master bedroom and 4 staterooms, plus sleeping quarters for up to 6 crew. This layout can be fully customisable by the client.
With the Nautilus, the yachting market will never be the same again.
Capable of functioning as a yacht, Nautilus will also feature a retractable sundeck when afloat, replete with a pool, bar and dining option, offering guests an alfresco haven in which to relax and socialise while taking in the beautiful water-level views of their surroundings.
As an added bonus, the superyacht sub easily combats seasickness. “If the sea becomes too rough,” says U-Boat Worx Chairman and Founder Bert Houtman, “you simply dive and continue your voyage in comfort. With the Nautilus, the yachting market will never be the same again.”
The yacht submarine will also contain a pressure-resistant electrical tender for transporting up to 5 scuba divers underwater to their intended dive spot. When not in use, this tender can be stowed under the vessel’s aft deck.
Nautilus will have a surface cruise speed of 9 knots, with an underwater speed of 4 knots. At cruise speed, the underwater endurance is 6 hours. Her 6.5-meter draft will also allow her to be docked quayside when not in use.
U-Boat Worx also confirmed an impressive delivery time of within 30 months from the client's initial order.

A Superyacht Submarine Debuts in Monaco
- By Yachting Staff
- November 10, 2022
At the Monaco Yacht Show , U-Boat Worx unveiled its Nautilus design, a 123-foot, 1,250-ton vessel that the company says can function as a yacht or a submersible that uses diesel-electric power down to about 650 feet below sea level.
Cruising speed is projected to be 9 knots for the Nautilus, with an underwater speed of 4 knots.
Guest spaces include a bar, pool, lounge, dining room, five guest staterooms, quarters for six crew and a galley. The entire sundeck gets retracted before the vessel goes into submersible mode. The design also includes 10 windows, each more than 13 feet wide, for views of the underwater world.
A pressure-resistant tender, the Aronnax, can be used to take as many as five divers to a scuba location away from the mothership.
According to U-Boat Worx, this “superyacht submarine” will be able to stay underwater for as long as four days. At cruise speed, it can stay underwater for six hours.
What’s the asking price to build the first Nautilus? It’s about $24.5 million. U-Boat Worx says it can deliver the Nautilus within 30 months of a contract being signed.

At the Monaco Yacht Show 2022, Dutch shipyard U-Boat Worx unveiled ready-to-construct concept designs for a 37.5m/123ft luxury submarine yacht: ‘NAUTILUS’.
Luxury submarine yacht Nautilus Blue 3qrt Back Tender
Submersible yacht concepts have been created before, however, none have made the leap from an idea into reality. U-Boat Worx intends to be the first, using the company’s experience in creating small submersibles to engineer and launch a fully certified submersible with all the comfort and indulgences expected aboard a yacht.
Luxury submersible yacht NAUTILUS top view
Submersible motor yacht NAUTILUS runs on diesel-electric power and can reach a depth of up to 200m/656ft, with 10 windows 4m/13ft wide giving a unique view of the underwater world – perfect for guests who cannot dive into such depths yet still want to see the wonders of destinations such as the Red Sea , the South Pacific and the Caribbean .
Nautilus Luxury submersible yacht profile
An added advantage of underwater capabilities means no more seasickness: In rough seas, NAUTILUS can simply dive below the surface and continue the journey in comfort. The NAUTILUS has a surface speed of 9 knots and an underwater speed of 4 knots. She can stay under the waves for up to four days, or for a total of six hours while cruising.
Above water, guests have access to alfresco facilities including a sundeck, bar, pool, dining, lounging and sunbathing facilities. All of this is retracted before going underwater.
Nautilus – Luxury submersible yacht
A pressure-resistant electrical tender (named ‘ARONNAX’) is stored under the aft deck and will remain outside while diving. ARONNAX can be used for transporting up to five Scuba divers underwater, to and from their destination.
The interior layout is fully customisable; however, the standard layout offers a 50m²/538ft² lounge and dining area, galley, plus guest accommodation over 5 cabins: 1 Master suite and 4 further guest cabins. The crew accommodation provides for 6.
The price for a NAUTILUS of your own starts at €25 million, and once commissioned, her Owner can expect to receive her within 30 months.

half-yacht, half-submarine 'nautilus' by u-boat worx exudes lush living above & under the sea
U-boat worx designs diesel-electric superyacht ‘nautilus’.
There’s a new opulent water vehicle in town and it goes by the name ‘Nautilus’. Maker U-Boat Worx takes a step toward luxury above and underwater with the design of its diesel-electric superyacht . Half-steeped in the sea, the upper deck remains open and roomy for sightseeing far from land.
Heading down, the submerged body of the vessel enjoys large round windows that afford the view of the marine species and oceanic life. Amidst these wonders gracing the design, Nautilus seems to hone in on exquisite affluence, drawn from the interior of the superyacht that revels in a five-star-hotel atmosphere.
Exploring Nautilus with Officina Armare
Working with design studio Officina Armare for visualization and interior design, U-Boat Worx canopies its passengers in a cavernous part-residential, part-watercraft expedition. Two-level decks separate the sunken vessel with the main deck taking its influence from the chalets found in the Alps.
The area is designed to offer cozy spaces regardless of the time of the year with comfortable low-profile seating that provides a good view for observation and lounging also with groups of people. The seating itself may already be turned into bed spaces with its influx of curved and bent shapes that allow for quick naps.
The second level, named Maindeck Sunken Lounge, is designed 25 centimeters lower than the main deck level. Lounge mattresses are placed in front of the round window structures to instill a sense of natural entertainment right before the passengers’ very own eyes (although a pop-up TV screen is present in this space, nestled between the windows). In the observation mode, the TV is hidden and courtesy lights are synchronized with life underwater.
Nautilus carves its own observatory under the sea. Inside the Mezzanine Observation Lounge, U-Boat Worx and Officina Armare hammer out a circular, flowy glass above and in front of the passengers’ heads that peer through the scenic seascape outside. A C-shaped sofa brushing against a couple of leather armchairs gathers people together to bear witness to the marine life unfolding outside and the lap of luxury being served inside.
The sleeping areas are holed up on the lower foredeck and accessed from the grand staircase. Here, rich colors converge with the refined, glossy visuals of the surroundings, starting with the golden light that the rods by the headboard emit. The floor is only half-covered in a silky white carpet to make way for the glass areas. The Master cabin has an en suite bathroom with a bathtub and walk-in wardrobe directly accessed from inside the cabin.
Inspired by Jules Verne’s classic novel
As U-Boat Worx states, Nautilus is rooted in Jules Verne’s classic novel, ‘Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea’ where Captain Nemo and his submarine, the Nautilus, embark on a journey beneath the seas. While its conception is still yet to unravel, the submersible superyacht is foreseen to have a depth rating of 200 meters, with a surface cruise speed of 9 knots and an underwater speed of 4 knots.
When functioning as a yacht, the part that is not steeped in the sea, the Nautilus offers a massive sundeck equipped with a freshwater pool, a bar, and a luxurious dining table. The privately-operated submarine hopes to carry up to 10 passengers, excluding crew, in a fully conditioned environment to a depth of 150 meters, and thanks to the abundant power supply, the Nautilus can stay submerged for up to 18 hours with 10 guests.
