Maldives yacht charter
As a dream destination for newly-wedded and a place to savor incomparable tropical luxury, the Maldives has an abundance of remarkable escapades. The Maldives has been a prime pioneer in catering innovative and extravagant travel journeys, ranging from underwater restaurants to over the water villas.
Why charter a yacht in Maldives?
The Maldives is a beautiful archipelago in the Indian Ocean that opens doors to iconic and memorable cruising experiences. The most exclusive way to explore its white sandy beaches, pristine waters, coral gardens, lagoons, and marine life is to charter a yacht. Onboard your chartered yacht, you may sample the most exquisite food available, undertake water-based activities, degust premium seafood, and admire the breath-taking scenery. Chartering a yacht in the Maldives allows you to navigate between islands and discover the hidden and faraway spots while taking pleasure in the luxury feeling of being at home.
The Maldives is a green paradise and a truly tropical exploration as you sail around and enjoy adventures. The most popular yacht chartering option in the Maldives has been catamarans and luxury yachts. The Maldives possess multiple private anchorages, and you could easily keep your privacy on board of your ship since only 200 of the 1200 islands are populated. With your private chef's assistance, you may enjoy a discrete picnic and a relaxing moment on the beach. The crew of sailors will confidently take the helm of your yacht, and gently sail through the waves, from snorkeling sites to see manta rays or a stop-over at world-class spa resorts for a self-care treatment to finally visit unique fishing villages to grasp the local life.
What are yacht charter prices in Maldives?
In Maldives, chartering a catamaran is an opportunity to hop from island to island and placed at the client's disposal, navigate the reefs, or find a beach to anchor. Yacht charter prices in Maldives vary between approximately $8,700 to $22,000 per week for three cabins catamarans. Motor yacht prices vary depending on your chosen provider. You can quickly secure catamaran for $2,300 a day for sixteen people, or $7,000 a day for eight people or more and up to $53,000 a week for eight people.
When is the yachting season in Maldives?
Located very close to the equator, where the sun shines right above, The Maldives promise exotic and tropical yacht charter season. As such, international adventurers may appreciate the warm and sunny feeling on their skin all year round. However, the east coast is the most humid region, and during the rainy season, cyclones may form between February and March. The two monsoons are milder than the neighboring countries. From May to October, there would be moderate rainfall and wind due to the southwest monsoon. The period between November and April is the most advised season for a yacht charter in the Maldives, right in the middle of the northeast monsoon when the climate will be dry and with little wind. This dry and hot environment is when cruisers may be pleased by the gentle breeze of the sea on the yacht. The busiest months for yacht charters in the Maldives are usually December and January.

Weather in the Maldives
The Maldives is a state consisting of almost 1,200 coral islands stretching from north to south. It gained it’s independence in 1968. The climate is subequatorial, hot, the maximum temperature of water and air is about 30 ° C. The best time for chartering the boat is from November to March, when the northeast monsoons prevail. The rainy season lasts all summer.
Great plus of this destination is well-established air traffic: most European countries to the archipelago have direct flights almost every day.
The flight from Europe to the Maldivian Hulule Airport takes about 10 hours. Some tourists may need to have a visa, but it is usually automatically stamped at the airport upon presentation of a voucher issued by a travel or charter company.
Sailing in the Maldives
The Maldives is one of the most spectacular places in the world. A lot of photos with snow-white coral sand and shallow turquoise waters that you may see in calendars and desktops are made there. The islands are a mountain range that has sunk under the water and protrudes slightly above the surface of the sea. This is the “lowest” country in the world: the average height above sea level is only 1.5 meters.
The archipelago has a reputation of a paradise, which is preferred by lovers and newlyweds, however, serene romance is far from the only format available for tourists. If you want to fully enjoy the beauty and diversity of the “flower of India”, we recommend renting a yacht in the Maldives. This is an unforgettable experience that will allow you to see many amazingly beautiful places - both above and below the surface of the water. To rent a yacht in the Maldives means to get impressions inaccessible to ordinary "beach" tourists and to take not only beautiful, but also interesting pictures.
The Maldives is famous for the fact that each island is either one luxury hotel with fantastic white beaches and bungalows, or an uninhabited island with amazing flora and fauna. Several islands, including the only island city of Male, are inhabited by locals. There is also a marina where you can rent a yacht. Most popular in the Maldives is the rental of a catamaran or premium yacht. A catamaran with less draft allows you to walk as close to reefs as possible. In general, given the large number of reefs, it is better to rent a yacht in the Maldives with a captain or if you have sufficient yachting experience.
Cuisine in the Maldives
Sailing yacht or catamaran charter actually gives travelers the ability to move around in a floating mini-hotel. You may hire a cook who will be happy to prepare traditional local dishes for you. Cuisine in the Maldives stands on three pillars: seafood, fruits and coconut milk. The main dish of the archipelago is tuna with rice, which is served with various seasonings and sauces. Smoked tuna “maskhuni” with coconut pulp, lime juice and spices is also popular. If you decide to rent a yacht in the Maldives and go on a cruise around the islands, you will have a chance to try these and other dishes in their many variations.
In addition to the natural beauties and gastronomic delights, the Maldives is distinguished by a distinctive culture, in which Arabian, African and Asian influences are distinctly traced. For an active traveler seeking not only to relax in a hammock under palm trees, but also to get acquainted with real life, a yacht charter in the Maldives is a very attractive option.
Interestingly, in the Maldives, the main transport are sailing and motor boats. Most of the transportation is carried out by boats and seaplanes. Land public transport does not exist, since only two islands have roads. Any island can be crossed in 1.5-2 hours. Between the islands "dons" constantly transport people and goods. Large Vedis boats are used for long voyages to distant atolls.
However, those who choose a yacht charter will use all these means of transportation only out of curiosity, because they will always have at their disposal a comfortable vessel that meets all requests and wishes.
Fans of diving and snorkeling will especially appreciate this option: renting a yacht in the Maldives will give them a chance to easily reach distant atolls, where the purity of the water provides fantastic visibility and the underwater world amazes with paradise colors and bizarre shapes. The Maldives is an excellent place for diving, and few tourists avoid the temptation to plunge into the bright waters of the Indian Ocean with a mask or scuba diving at least once. In addition to coral reefs, you can look at caves, the remains of sunken ships and other attractions.
Another adventure worth renting a yacht in the Maldives is fishing. Popular fishing species are sailboat, barracuda, swordfish, tuna, blue and black marlin, sea bass. Despite the fact that many resorts organize morning, evening and night fishing expeditions on speed boats and sailboats, yacht rental gives in this sense much more freedom. We recommend anglers to take an experienced guide to help: fishing in these waters has its own characteristics. For example, due to the fact that the fish is often characterized by large size and strength, it may take considerable effort and dexterity to pull you out, and tackle can require remarkable strength. So if fishing is adrenaline for you, and not meditation, your option is to rent a yacht with a team experienced in this sport. Also note that the law prohibits fishing in places that have the status of protected areas (this can be any coral reef near the hotel), therefore it is better to deal with it under the guidance of a local expert. An imposing fine is imposed for poaching, even unintentionally.
Renting a boat
And of course, you can always rent a yacht in the Maldives for a romantic trip, a spectacular wedding or other celebration. 12 knots will find the right boat for your sailing vacation.
So, if you decide to rent a yacht in the Maldives, then you are either a fan of underwater beauty or who wants to visit the most amazing beaches of the Indian Ocean. For those and other Maldives - just a fabulous paradise with an abundance of all kinds of diving centers and beautiful hotels. Seekers of peace and solitude are recommended to visit uninhabited islands, for landing on which you must obtain permission in advance. Yacht parking on these islands is usually free.
Yacht charters in the Maldives will allow you to see unique places like: Fulhadhu Beach with palm trees and a sand scythe leaning towards the water, Maadhu Beach, where you can taste local dishes right by the water. Taking a yacht on a charter, you will not be attached to one hotel, but you will be able to see different islands and take away with you a lot of unforgettable impressions.

After this time Islam became the dominant religion after the islands' garnered interest from Arab traders, with coir ropes made from the husks of coconut shells being the dominant export from the 12th Century onwards.
Due to their strategic location on the major shipping routes of the Indian Ocean , the islands have been respectively governed by the Portuguese, Dutch and British over the centuries. In 1965, the Maldives gained their independence and today remain a presidential democracy. The islands’ also have strong cultural influences from Sri Lanka and India which can be seen in their music, dance, customs and local dishes.

It's not surprising that yachts are flocking to this country, with its glorious endless garlands of reefs, secluded aquamarine lagoons and deep-water anchorages, making it the ultimate yacht charter vacation.

Many people visit the Central Atolls for diving, which is a truly transcendent experience. You will find excellent dive sites around the Rasdhoo Atoll , where you can swim amongst parrotfish, dolphins, blacktip reef sharks and hammerheads.
Some of the best-recommended dive sites can be found in the Ari Atolls, which includes Ulkulhas Thila in North Ari Atoll , a fantastic place to witness the majestic manta rays, as well as Kuda Tah Thila in the South Ari Atoll , teeming with masses of rainbow-colored reef fish – an unforgettable experience that will stay with you forever.
Southern Atolls
The Southern Atolls are renowned for their romantic secluded beauty popular with honeymooners and epitomized by the heart-shaped picture-perfect image of Addu Atoll , used in thousands of holiday brochures to sell the glorious dream of a Maldives getaway.
Addu Atoll is located in the extreme south of the Maldives, extending past the equator into the Southern Hemisphere. Once a British Naval base, there are numerous sheltered lagoons to anchor in. The Atoll is naturally protected from storms by its heart-shaped barrier reef, providing the area with a rich abundance of tropical marine flora and fauna, making it a superb spot to snorkel in the calm turquoise waters. To the west lies the populated Addu City , as well as a number of luxury resorts.
Gan island , located in the southern end of the Atoll, has its own international airport with regular flights from the capital, Malé.
Many islands in the Southern Atolls are uninhabited, filling you with a sense of peace and tranquility as you decide on which exquisite white sandbar to set up your picnic.
The Maldives is an increasingly popular destination for yachts, however, the selection of yachts is not as comprehensive as for the Mediterranean, therefore it would be wise to book your yacht charter well in advance of your trip to ensure you secure your perfect yacht and itinerary. There tends to be a fair amount of red tape when cruising the Maldives, such as permits and various local taxes, therefore it is essential your yacht charter broker is familiar with the country's rules and regulations around the various islands.
There are so many amazing places to see and experience, an experienced broker can help you choose the perfect itinerary to make your dream yacht charter vacation become a reality.

Maldives Yacht Charter Q&A
There should be ample yachts for charter in the Maldives, so you can be sure to find an option that suits both you and your budget, although we do recommend booking early to ensure you secure your perfect yacht around your preferred dates and itinerary.
Before you book, you should factor in additional costs that aren't covered in the base rate, such as berthing, fuel, local taxes, food and drink and crew tips.
Most yacht charters in the Maldives start off from its bustling capital Malé, located on North Malé Atoll. With its central location, international airport and yacht marina, it makes Malé the ideal gateway to the Maldives.
Alternatively, for yacht charters cruising the southern atolls Gan is a popular choice, with its own international airport serving regular flights from the capital it is the ideal jumping off point for yacht charters around these spectacular reefs, including the much-photographed heart-shaped Addu Atoll, as well as the stunning Feydoo, Maradoo and Hithadoo islands.
To discover your perfect yacht, please browse our site for a comprehensive catalogue of yachts available to charter around the Maldives. If you make an enquiry, a yacht charter broker will contact you with a customised yacht charter proposal based on your requirements.
Alternatively, you can reach out to your preferred yacht charter broker , and they will help you find your ideal yacht and preferred dates for you and your charter party.
With its proximity to the equator, the Maldives enjoys year-round balmy temperatures. The best time to visit is in the dry season which occurs during the Northeast Monsoon between November and April, coinciding neatly with the Northern Hemisphere winter.
Here are some things to consider;
- The northern Baa Atoll (UNESCO Biosphere reserve) – the area is strictly regulated with an 80-person capacity at any time. Therefore, it is essential to book ahead to ensure you don't miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
- Some deep anchorages, plus shallow access to some of the reefs can prove problematic.

What an amazing fishing trip ! The team is very professional with a top quality service. Not counting hours and doing the outmost to help you target your dream fish. Just book Leekan, a very recent boat in very good condition, sit back and relax. The captain is super welcoming and planned everything, food, drinks is and towels I will definitely recommend to book.
For everybody who love sea and adventuress, who would like to have romantic trip with loving person, this is the right choice. Additional pluses are that you can do in the same day, a plenty of different things. We are staying in resort, where can you arrange always only one thing, for example only trip to the sandbank or only trip to snorkeling or trip to big game fishing. My decision was, that I don’t wont to spend a lot of money only driving with the boat to sandbank. I find on the google Get My Boat and Siren of the Sea was my first choice, because is perfect balance between the price and service . I send them very simple wishes “ We would like fishing and in the middle time go to sandbank to swiming and snorkeling”. We get much more than that. They come to pick up us on the minute, first we started trolling on the reef and we catch two fishes, one tuna and one huge blu fin fish, than we go to sandbank, where the crew left us and there was really unbelievable feeling as you are alone in the ocean, 100% privat, and guys one thing more what I did there !!! I ask my girl if she will marry with me!!! And she said YES!!! Then we spend a really special moments together, it takes two ours. After that the crew pick us and we go to try Popping and Jigging. On the way back we once again trolling and we catch one more fish. The crew is professional, they give you everything on the highest level, all the best I can say for Carmi, Abo and the rest of the crew, I will choose them again 😎👏👍
Abdulla, Carmii and the rest of the crew are amazing, incredibly nice and flexible, always looking after our safety and making sure we had the best experience. We went swimming with sharks and to a couple of amazing sand banks and had lunch at a local island. Completely recommend them!
We hired Siren of the Sea for a snorkeling experience in the Maldives in October 2019. They picked-us from our hotel, the boat was very good, as in the pictures, there were snacks and refreshments on board and the crew was very friendly. The only remark is that the crew did not speak good English and the communication was therefore limited. I highly recommend Siren of the Sea, we had a great experience and the snorkeling was great.
We had a great time on Siren of the Seas. The crew really looked after us. The boat and equipment were well maintained. And the fishing was great
We used Siren Of The Sea four times in the Maldives. Mostly for surfing. They took us to the best spots and give outstanding service.

Go here to see a selection of charter yachts in the Maldives but contact us for the full latest list .
The Maldives is a beautiful collection of islands in the Indian Ocean which is growing quickly as a popular luxury yacht charter destination. Maldives yacht charters take place in the northern hemisphere’s winter, at the same time as the Caribbean, and create a very interesting and exotic alternative to this traditional location.
The Maldives provides yacht charter holiday makers with a wonderful climate, superb beaches (some say the best in the world), and amazing coves and lagoons. The Maldives is an archipelago consisting of 1,190 coral islands. Accordingly, there is exceptional scenery and natural beauty for the abundance of recreational activities and adventures. What better way to explore this paradise than onboard a luxury crewed yacht?
The Maldives archipelago contains groups of 26 atolls in completely natural formation. They stretch across the equatorial band in a rainbow of luxurious jade green tropical vegetation and pristine soft white sands. Out on a Maldives yacht charter you will experience every possible shade of aqua and turquoise, and a world of dazzling coral gardens.
If you are interested in nature and marine life and diving then this is the place for you. This area of the world is characterised by an amazingly unique underwater life and ecology. This is due to the remote and unspoiled Indian Ocean location currents as well as the year-round tropical climate.
The Maldives offers direct flights from Europe and parts of Asia and represents a unique tourist attraction to those looking for exceptional yacht charter vacation, whether relaxing on a motor or sailing yacht, diving & snorkeling, or soaking up the sunshine and natural beauty. The Maldives provides vacationers a relatively sound infrastructure and some very notable luxury resorts. There are almost always one or two world class luxury superyachts visiting the archipelago that are available for charter, as well as some local yachts too. Please contact CharterWorld for your luxury yacht charter vacation.
