Delivered in 1993 by world-renowned yacht builder Feadship-De Vries and now for the first time offered for sale. This 51m 817 GT motor yacht Double Haven is an extraordinary expression of a bespoke designed superyacht.

The design vision and principles behind Double Haven were for her to be a state-of-the-art Superyacht capable of crossing any ocean and to be self-reliant, with sufficient fuel, storage and water to be independent of shore services for up to six months.

With her bespoke tenders, she is free to visit the most isolated atols, bays and islands. Her full beam superstructure maximises the interior spaces with natural light provided through the large windows designed to blend in nicely with the yacht’s profile.

Double Haven is a powerfull statement with her luxurious private residence, a fully functional business office, a well equipped entertainment and watersports center. The graceful exterior lines marry form and function in a creation of dutch excellence.

51m SUPERYACHT - DOUBLE HAVEN

A Floating Haven

Double Haven is a stunning 51m Feadship superyacht, currently moored at Sentosa Cove, Singapore. She was custom-built and launched with triumph in 1992 after sea trials and some finishing touches, then delivered to the owner in 1993. Since then, she has undergone refits in 2001 and 2006.

This majestic steel ship was built at their Aalsmeer shipyard in the Netherlands, and reflects the Feadship characteristics. Her design is the complete package having been conceived by Glade Johnson Design, De Voogt Naval Architects, Gerhard Gilgenast and Richard Hein, who are all individually responsible for many luxury superyachts.

Her hull is made from steel and the superstructure above is aluminium. She is pretty deep with a 3.2m draught, and a total beam of 9.3m, providing a large volume of space on board. There’s ample room to accommodate 14 guests who can relax in style and comfort. They can enjoy the views from the huge sun deck, or whilst alfresco dining. Both the interior and exterior are elegant and sophisticated and she’s immaculately maintained.

A highly-skilled crew of 16 provides an unrivalled service, taking the guests across a range of 7,644 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 14 knots. Her 817 GT moves at a top speed is 16 knots, propelled by screw propellers and twin Caterpillar diesel engines, but with low vibration and noise. She can sail in all weather conditions and has Vosper stabilisers installed, giving her complete seakeeping ability.

From eye-level you cannot see, but she has a helipad which is currently cordoned within the railings on the top deck.

There has been lots of speculation over the years as to who the owner is. Some rumours say she is owned by Jean Claude Van Damme? Some say a middle-eastern man with ties to the oil industry owns it and sometimes charters it out to businessmen from Asia? Some believe 89-year-old Alberto Bailleres (the 2 nd richest man in Mexico) is the owner? But we do believe that at some point she has been owned by Merle A. Hinrichs, founder of the Hong Kong based media company, Global Sources. Unfortunately, we cannot confirm whether or not Hinrichs is still the current owner.

With sightings in the Caribbean Islands, Alaska, the Philippines, Bora Bora, Hong Kong, Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand and many more, it’s safe to say that Double Haven really has travelled the world. We believe she was named after the protected bay in Hong Kong waters, known as Yan Chau Tong Marine Park (Double Haven).

The 51m/167'4" motor yacht 'Double Haven' was built by Feadship in the Netherlands at their Aalsmeer shipyard. Her interior is styled by design house Glade Johnson Design and she was completed in 1993. This luxury vessel's exterior design is the work of Glade Johnson Design and she was last refitted in 2024.

Double Haven has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests in 6 suites. She is also capable of carrying up to 16 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Double Haven is built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, with teak decks. Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (3512 DITA) 1,430hp engines, she comfortably cruises at 10 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 16 knots with a range of up to 7,644 nautical miles from her 127,950 litre fuel tanks at 10 knots. Her water tanks store around 37,750 Litres of fresh water. She was built to Lloyds Register classification society rules.

Motor Yacht

The 51 metre (167’3”ft) custom-built Double Haven yacht was launched in 1992 by Dutch shipyard Feadship and features a sophisticated exterior style by Glade Johnson Design, Richard Hein and Gerhard Gilgenast, with naval architecture and layout on board drawn by De Voogt Naval Architects; creating a complete package of comfortable living.

The Glade Johnson interior flows through the layout offering ample accommodation for 8 guests in both style and comfort. Double Haven, built with steel hull and aluminium superstructure, is an immaculately maintained, stable, superyacht with a highly-skilled staff of 11 yacht crew adding the dimension of unrivalled service for those on board.

Refitted in 2001, the contemporary exterior reflects the unbridled elegance on board, offering distinctive Feadship style wrapped around large volumes thanks to a beam of 9.30 metres (30’6”ft). Underway, guests can enjoy al-fresco dining and relaxation on the sun deck across the huge exterior spaces as well as true day-to-day comfort within for longer crossings. Capable of travelling at a top speed of 16 knots in complete comfort in all weather conditions, Double Haven can take those on board across ranges of 7644 nautical miles with low noise, vibration and total seakeeping ability.

De Voogt Naval Architects was the naval architect involved in the technical nautical design work for DOUBLE HAVEN. Her interior design was completed by Glade Johnson. De Voogt Naval Architects and Richard Hein and Glade Johnson and Gerhard Gilgenast is also associated with the yacht general design work for this boat. In 1993 she was actually launched with triumph in Aalsmeer and post sea trials and finishing touches was thereafter delivered to the owner. The Feadship De Vries Shipyard completed their new build motor yacht in the Netherlands. A spacious proportion is brought about with a total beam (width) of 9.3 metres or 30.5 ft. With a 3.2m (10.5ft) draught (maximum depth) she is fairly deep. The material steel was used in the building of the hull of the motor yacht. Her superstructure over the hull is built out of aluminium. In 2001 further refit work and modernisation was additionally finished.
