Whats the best 26' drop keel?
Re: Whats the best 26\' drop keel? you mean the Evo 25 (12k). The Evo 26 (10k) is a racer with restricted headroom, minimal interior, outboard motor, 750kg (!) less ballast. Same hull, and lift keel (hydraulic) different deck. Good sailing caravan, once slept 11 on mine. Evo 26 also has taller rig, both fractional.

S# first appeared (that we know of) in TellTales, April 1988, "On a Scale of One to Ten" by A.P. Brooks . The equation incorporates SA/Disp (100% fore triangle) and Disp/length ratios to create a guide to probable boat performance vs. other boats of comparable size. For boats of the same length, generally the higher the S#, the lower the PHRF.

The immersion rate is defined as the weight required to sink the boat a certain level. The immersion rate for Evolution 26 is about 118 kg/cm, alternatively 665 lbs/inch. Meaning: if you load 118 kg cargo on the boat then it will sink 1 cm. Alternatively, if you load 665 lbs cargo on the boat it will sink 1 inch.
