Known in the shipyard as Project 1601, Norn ’s interior by Dölker + Voges carries on the exterior motifs seen in the exterior, according to a press release. The Hamburg-based firm has also helped design other superyachts like Octopus, Pelorus, Eclipse , Aquijo , and the world’s largest superyacht, Azzam .
Norn ’s special features include zero-speed stabilizers for comfort at anchor, as well as an outside cinema. The pool has a lifting floor with special lighting that transforms it into a dance floor. As with most gigayachts now coming on the market, Norn has dynamic positioning that allows it into areas that are prohibited to most conventional yachts. The boat can hold its position electronically (no anchor or chains dragging along the sea bottom) so it can cruise in sensitive environmental areas or marine sanctuaries.
Norn ’s project manager was Cornelsen and Partner, which also oversaw the build of Project Celerius, a 388-footer by Abeking & Rasmussen that hit the water for the first time in December 2022.

Introducing NORN: A Pioneering 90m Superyacht by Lürssen
German shipbuilding titan, Lürssen, has once again pushed the boundaries of yacht design and engineering with its latest delivery, NORN. This remarkable 90-meter superyacht embarked on her maiden voyage on April 29, 2023, after a successful construction period under the watchful eye of Cornelsen & Partner as the Project Manager.
NORN, previously known as Project 1601, was commissioned by a seasoned owning couple who had enjoyed the luxury and performance of their 70-meter Lürssen yacht for over two decades. With their desire for unparalleled design, engineering, and comfort for their family, they turned to renowned yacht designer Espen Oeino for the exterior. Oeino delivered a masterpiece that features flat surfaces, straight lines, and angular corners, exuding a sense of geometrical precision that is evident in every aspect of the yacht.
The vessel's interior, designed by Dölker + Voges, complements the crispness of the exterior styling, reflecting the same design themes throughout. In line with the Lürssen tradition, NORN is outfitted with state-of-the-art technology and engineering systems. Among the standout features are zero-speed stabilizers, an outdoor cinema, and a liftable pool floor with dance floor illumination.
In addition, NORN is equipped with a dynamic positioning system that allows for electronic anchoring in sensitive and remote locations. This innovative feature safeguards the seabed while providing secure mooring, regardless of water depth.

Lürssen’s 90m expedition yacht NORN delivered

By Steph Loseby 5 May 2023
Following her launch in February earlier this year, the highly secretive 90m (295 ft) superyacht NORN , formerly known as Project 1601, has been delivered by iconic German builder Lürssen and has since left the facilities to embark on her maiden voyage.
The specifications and amenities for superyacht NORN have been kept a closely guarded secret since her construction began in 2018. However, we know her distinct, geometrical exterior was helmed by Norwegian designer and naval architect Espen Oeino whilst her yet-to-be-revealed interiors are the works of Dölker+Voges Design and are expected to mirror the yacht’s exterior design.
The brief required a superyacht that excels in design and engineering whilst also catering to maximum comfort onboard. Described by the shipyard as a project with “striking design" and "extraordinary features”, superyacht NORN has a utilitarian character, with an oblique reverse bow, narrow rectangular windows, planar surfaces and angular corners.
Built for a repeat owner, superyacht NORN is a replacement vessel for the iconic 70m (232ft) yacht SKAT , which was delivered in 2002.
Sharing similar design cues, we can expect that brand new superyacht NORN may follow an alike minimalist interior approach with a variety of light, bright and airy social spaces onboard. There is also expected to be a signature panoramic sky lounge, an additional area onboard where guests can soak up the superyacht lifestyle.
The brief required a superyacht that excels in design and engineering to provide seagoing comfort for the family.
As a custom-built 3,600 GT explorer yacht , NORN is guaranteed to have a helipad, closing the bridge between land and sea for guests onboard. She also features zero-speed stabilizers, an exterior cinema and a liftable pool floor with dancefloor illumination to allow a unique and memorable cruising experience for her guests. Electronic anchoring in sensitive and remote areas is made easy thanks to the use of a dynamic positioning system, ensuring that the seabed is protected regardless of water depth.
Norn was one of two yachts launched by the German shipyard in February following the grand reveal of the 145m (475ft) Project Luminance , which is the eighth largest yacht to be built by Lürssen and has just successfully finished her sea trials last week.
With over 10 projects in-build currently, Lürssen is expected to deliver the 122m (400ft) superyacht PROJECT JAG later this year whilst the 114 (378ft) superyacht PROJECT COSMOS will be completed in 2024.
It is not believed that superyacht NORN will be available to charter upon delivery. If you’re looking for a private yacht charter for your next vacation and you'd like to rent a superyacht of a similar calibre, you can view and compare all Lürssen superyachts for charter .

90m Lürssen yacht Norn arrives in London
The 90-metre Lürssen Norn has arrived in London following delivery from the yard in Germany. According to BOATPro , the 3,600 GT superyacht left Rendsburg in early May and touched into the waters of Sweden, stopping in the port of Helsingborg on 9 June. She then began the journey to London and has since anchored in front of Tower Bridge.
The yacht's military styling could have her mistaken for a navy vessel, but Espen Øino has purposefully penned the yacht with her characteristic hard lines, sharp angles and greenhouse-style glazing along the amidships section of the superstructure. This is the second Øino and Lürssen crossover to sport this distinctive style, after 70.7-metre Skat in 2002.
It's likely that Norn was built for the same owner who commissioned Skat, a s Lürssen has previously said that Norn was built for an experienced owner. The word "Skat" is a Danish pet name meaning "treasure", while "Norn" translates to "fate".
The yacht's interior is by Dölker + Voges and follows the same concept as the exterior. Features include an aft deck helipad on the upper deck and a main deck pool with a transparent rim and changeable depth, meaning she can be drained of water and the floor can be raised to form a dancefloor or entertainment space. There is a second dip pool on the upper deck forward.
There are several other yachts in London as of June 12, including 54.3-metre Revelry and 56-metre Australia .

Exiled russian oligarch’s 257’ superyacht amaryllis seen towed through palm beach.
The Amaryllis being towed past the former mansion of Henry Flagler, built in 1902
By John Jannarone and Alan Hatfield
The 257’ superyacht Amaryllis apparently owned by exiled Russian oligarch Andrey Borodin was towed past Palm Beach, FL on Friday morning, according to a visual account by CorpGov .
The yacht, whose owner is frequently cited as Mr. Borodin by enthusiast publications, moved slowly through the Lake Worth lagoon where bridges were raised for its passage. A towboat with flashing lights about 150 feet ahead pulled the Amaryllis , built by German shipyard Abeking & Rasmussen in 2011.
While CorpGov could not officially confirm Mr. Borodin as the owner of the vessel, his wife, socialite Tatiana Korsakova, has posted dozens of Instagram photos and videos aboard the Amaryllis. A yacht broker interviewed by CorpGov confirmed that Ms. Korsakova is indeed aboard the Amaryllis in the photos and videos.
View this post on Instagram A post shared by Tatiana Korsakova (@tati_vk)
The sighting comes as billions of dollars in Russian-owned yachts have been seized around the world as a result of international sanctions. CNN has published an extensive list of seized vessels, which were taken in harbor cities including Mallorca, Spain and London.
However, it is unclear if the Amaryllis was being seized or voluntarily towed. Very large yachts often choose to be towed because bridges are required to raise for them, according to the yacht broker.
The former Bank of Moscow chief was granted political asylum in the UK in February 2013 after fleeing what he alleged to be politically-motivated fraud and embezzlement charges. Mr. Borodin would go on to be tried and convicted in abstentia in Russian Court in 2018, but not before managing to enlist a number of prominent American lawmakers to lobby Washington for a U.S. visa. Despite Russian extradition requests to the UK government, Borodin’s controversial attempts to make large donations to the NHS, and the uncovering of an assassination plot against his life, the fugitive banker remains overseas, having been granted access to his Swiss bank accounts and having made several notable London real estate purchases during his time in exile.
Mr. Borodin is widely listed as a billionaire, but his total wealth remains difficult to confirm accurately, with the governments of Switzerland and the Bahamas having been asked to help the Russian government in its legal case. In 2012, Borodin purchased the UK’s then-most expensive home, an 80-hectare 18th-century estate in Oxfordshire, for upwards of $217 million. In 2017 he was granted access to personal Swiss accounts holding a reported $378 million. The Amaryllis was purchased for a reported $120 million.
Mr. Borodin did not immediately respond to an emailed query from CorpGov , while the FBI declined to comment. An emailed query to The Department of Homeland Security was not returned.
