Providenciales Sailing Charters

It’s refreshing to enjoy the incredible marine environment and crystal-clear turquoise water of the Turks and Caicos without the distraction of engine noise.

Sailing adventures are great for the whole family. There’s plenty to occupy kids, from beachcombing for seashells to spotting JoJo the Dolphin .

Activities and Destinations

As is the case with many of the boat tours in Providenciales, most sailing tours visit the exquisite and uninhabited cays between Providenciales and North Caicos. This archipelago includes the iguana sanctuary of Little Water Cay , the exquisite Half Moon Bay , Water Cay , Pine Cay , and Fort George Cay , where 1700s cannons can still be seen in the shallow water.

The Turks and Caicos Rock Iguana is a feature of many boat cruises from Providenciales. This docile large lizard is found on small of the uninhabited islands in our archipelago, and often greets visitors to Little Water Cay and adjacent Half Moon Bay. The visitor’s center on Little Water Cay offers the rare opportunity to easily and responsibly see an endangered animal in its natural environment!

There are some great snorkeling reefs in the area as well. The Caicos barrier reef is found close off the cays, and is home to an incredible collection of corals, sea fans, colorful fish, turtles , stingrays, and nurse sharks .

The shallow barrier reef is a really beautiful environment, with a complex system of coral formations. There are gullies, majestic coral arches, and small caves. The surface of the reef often supports beds of yellow sea fans, which wave back and forth with the gentle ocean swell.

Most cruises will stop at least one snorkel spot, and many visit several so you’ll be able to see underwater settings ranging from the sheltered interior reefs to the awe-inspiring deep blue off the wall.

Beach Hopping and BBQs

Most sailing excursions either serve food and snacks on board, or will stop at a secluded beach for lunch. This can range from sandwiches to a BBQ feast cooked fresh on the beach.

Many popular dishes in the Turks and Caicos incorporate the queen conch , a giant sea snail that can be found in the seagrass beds that surround the Turks and Caicos. During the conch season, which typically is from late October to early July, guests are often able to dive for their own conch—a fascinating experience. Conch salad, where diced raw conch is combined with acidic fruit and vegetables, is a very common way to serve conch when out on the water.

Drinks are typically complimentary on charters throughout the day, including soft drinks, bottled water, and rum punch.

Sunset Cruises

The Turks and Caicos is an amazing place to watch the sunset , and there’s no better setting than on the water. You’ll never know quite what display you’ll get. Some days it’ll simply be a tranquil setting in a golden sky, other days can offer breaking colors.

If the weather conditions are just right, you may see the elusive green flash. This astronomic effect is observed as a brilliant spark of green light just as the sun sets.

Private Sailing Charters

Many of the sailing vessels at Providenciales can be chartered for private tours, which is great for groups, large families, and those seeking additional tranquility and privacy.

Private trips will typically give you greater control over the destinations, activities, and catering choices as well.

Special Events and Weddings

Many charter companies are happy to accommodate weddings or other special events, and have quite a bit of experience catering to these important occasions.

It can take quite a bit of time and planning to ensure that arrange all aspects, so we advise contacting potential charters and making reservations well in advance of your event.

The Turks and Caicos has several excellent and creative photographers and videographers , who beautifully preserve the memories of your day on the water. It’s possible to have amazing underwater and drone shots taken, which can really exemplify your event in the Beautiful by Nature Turks and Caicos.

Bookings and Reservations

The Turks and Caicos doesn’t quite have as wide a selection of sailing charter vessels as it does motorized options, and for this reason, we advise booking well in advance of your planned visit.

Many tour companies offer 2-3 public cruises per week, with the remainder being private excursions. Often, this is one or two public sunset cruises and one snorkeling trip. The public cruises are often competitively priced compared to motorized tours.

Cancellations

It’s important to be aware of cancellations policies before booking. Due to the local business’s inability to rebook with short notice, all or a large percentage of the excursion cost is charged if the booking is canceled within a few days of the departure date.

In the case of adverse weather conditions , the tour company will typically work with guests to reschedule at no additional cost. Nearly all tour sailboat vessels in the Turks and Caicos are equipped with engines in the case of the wind not cooperating, so the weather usually doesn’t interfere with trips!

A unique bow ladder, a.k.a "staircase to the sea" allows you to easily enter and exit the warm waters and there's a bathroom/head on board as well. The catamaran also features two large trampolines that make incredibly comfortable sunning nets as well as ample deck space for lounging and letting the relaxation and good vibes of your tour set you into a state of peace and bliss. Captain Tim

Tim built and sailed Beluga to the Turks and Caicos Islands in 1985. Ask him about “the old days” and he’ll share some of the history of Provo with you. (We call our home Provo because Providenciales is such a mouth full!)

Captain Nik

Nik has been sailing Beluga in the Turks and Caicos since 2011 and is now her full time captain. After learning to sail with his father before he can even remember, Nik found his way to the Greek Islands where he led a flotilla of sailboats through the Mediterranean for 4 years.

Mate Michael

Michael is a first mate on Sail Beluga and an avid lover of sailing and snorkeling. With a deep passion for exploring the open waters, he finds great joy in teaching others how to snorkel and introducing them to the beauty of the Turks and Caicos barrier reef. Michael’s extensive knowledge of the sea and its inhabitants, coupled with his patience and enthusiasm, make him an excellent teacher and guide. He takes great pride in his work and is committed to ensuring that his guests have an unforgettable experience on the water.

Half-Day Catamaran Sailing and Snorkel Adventure

One of our Day Charter Catamarans glides up to the beach and comes to rest in front of you, a large stairway lowers down to the waters edge and you casually walk up and are greeted by a big smile and a warm welcome aboard. You store your towels and bags away and get comfortable on the bow nets as the Catamaran glides away from the shoreline, sails are raised and you glide effortlessly along the coastline as Bob Marley in the background sings “Don’t Worry about a thing, cause every little thing is going to be alright”. You relax on the bow nets, with a rum punch in hand, snack on fresh fruits, chips and salsa as the wind whistles through the sails overhead and the scenic grace bay glides by. You have entered the Ocean Vibes half day sail and snorkel adventure.

If you are on Providenciales or coming for a visit and want to experience a bit of the islands but not spend an entire day doing it, then the Ocean Vibes Half Day Sail and Snorkel Adventure is just what you need. Get picked up at your beachside hotel or meet us at a designated pick up point if you are staying at a property not on the Grace Bay beach strip.

Prices in US dollars and do not include gratuities and a 12% government tax.

Please note that your tour price DOES NOT cover the entrance fee for the National Trust nature reserve. (A fee of $40 per person is charged to access Iguana Island and goes to the Turks and Caicos National Trust, which was established to protect the endangered species of the Turks and Caicos and preserve their natural habitat.). This is an optional stop.

Cancellation policy: -a 100%* refund for cancellations made at least 24 hours in advance of the start date of the experience. -Cancellations made within 24 hours of the start date of the experience will receive no refund. Ocean Vibes reserves the right to cancel a customer’s booking for a full refund in the case of: -bad weather -not enough travellers
