The Vagabond 23 is the successor to the Serpentaire 22, the famous winner of the first Mini_Transat. The Vagabond 23 retain the virtues of the old design: offshore capable, well balanced fast hull that is easy on her crew, seaworthiness and strength but we were able to blend those qualities with better speed, more room, easier building and more strength.

If you want to sail in the Micro Class, the boat can be shortened 2" with a very simple change at the bow. We will include that modification in the plans on request. The Vagabond 18 is an excellent first boat: simple lines, easy to build and to sail but elegant. A 3HP outboard will push her at hull speed but anything larger than 6 HP is overkill.

The plans show two hull versions: with or without the hull extensions (skirt). The Vagabond and Vagabond Plus are basically the same boat except for the last two feet (60cm). This explains why some of the drawings do not show the "skirt": the part of the hull that extends behind the cockpit. You can built the boat with or without the skirt hull

I'm looking to build a wooden trailer sailer. The boat will sit on a trailer unless it is in the water being sailed, so I can't use traditional construction.
