Upon arrival, our skipper will show you the boat and provide you with instructions to ensure your comfort and safety. Once the perfect scenario has been set, the skipper will retire, leaving you to enjoy an intimate evening with your partner. Every detail, from the menu to the decoration, is designed for a perfect evening.

Upon arrival at the yacht, you will be welcomed by the skipper, who will give you a brief tour of the boat, showing you the facilities and all the amenities available. Once familiarized, the skipper will leave you to enjoy the privacy and romantic atmosphere that has been specially prepared for you.

21:30-9:30 Dinner + Romantic night

You will have an exquisite dinner consisting of fresh sushi, accompanied by a fruity white wine. All this on the deck of the yacht, under the starry sky of Barcelona, creating a magical and intimate atmosphere. You will be able to use the cabin, equipped with all the amenities you need, including a set of sheets and towels in case you wish to take a shower. It is an intimate space where you can chat, relax and enjoy each other's company in total privacy.

No, the romantic dining experience takes place with the yacht quietly moored in the harbor, offering an intimate and private atmosphere. This ensures that you can enjoy the dinner and the surroundings without worrying about the movement of the boat or the need to have crew on the boat.

Are there any restrictions on food or beverages that we can bring on board?

The experience already includes a sushi dinner, fruity white wine and dessert. However, if you have any special requests or wish to bring something additional, please let us know in advance to make sure we can accommodate your wishes.

I went to the BBQ boat with friends last week, it was super hot and the boat made a swimming stop when we were just on the water 🙂 that was very nice to cool down. Going to the beach? Don't forget your towel! And definitely don't get stuck waiting for it to dry. These quick dry towels keep away the worst part of the beach (sand) and make it easy to store them when you're back in your hotel. Plus, they're super compact and light weight.

Hear me out - you'll be walking a lot while you're in Barcelona. In fact, you'll probably have to walk through one of Barcelona's neighborhoods to get to your sunset cruise. You could take an e-bike walking isn't your jam.

The titular sea stretches between three continents and touches over 20 countries, each with its own distinct food identity. And yet, we get asked about the topic every day. So the next time your friend demands hummus or maybe some roast lamb in the presence of a belly dancer, go to these places. In the interest of keeping this guide under 100 restaurants, we’re sticking to our favorite Philly spots that fit into the cuisine buckets of Israel, Greece, Spain, Morocco, Turkey, Tunisia, and Lebanon. This Israeli spot in Old City has had nonstop hype since opening in 2008 thanks to its diverse and expansive tasting menu . The flow of the meal is upscale but never stiff, and the experience feels special whether it’s a random Tuesday at the bar or a big deal date night. From the phyllo-wrapped haloumi and layered salatim to the silky hummus and unbelievably tender pomegranate lamb shoulder, it’s all worth the struggle for the reservation .

Middle Eastern

Kensington’s Laser Wolf isn’t just one of our favorites for a Mediterranean feast—it’s one of the top restaurants in the neighborhood , period. The laidback Israeli grill is great for groups, date night, or eating by yourself at the bar, thanks to the all-you-can-eat salatim, and other shareables, like chicken skewers and juicy tuna covered in a green chili sauce. Bottom line—everything they put to the flame here is exceptional. The bill can stack up, so you’ll want to be strategic about when you come for a celebratory, pineapple rum-heavy meal (especially since there’s nothing on the menu you’ll say no to). Be sure to make a reservation ahead of time.

Mediterranean

Suraya is an all-day Lebanese restaurant in Fishtown that works for nearly any situation, whether you want to grab a chai latte and green cardamom kouign amann on your way to work, or you're trying to satisfy a hummus and kawarma craving on a special date night. The restaurant and market is chic, and when it’s nice outside, there’s nowhere in the city as transportive as their tree-lined garden.  

Queen Village

Marrakesh has quietly been serving an epic Moroccan experience in Queen Village for over 40 years (or not so quiet, if you come on a night when there are belly dancers). Everything from the colorful pillows and shimmering brass food trays to the staff washing your hands in a rose water bath is pure escapism. And they have a $30 tasting menu we’d happily travel for any night of the week. Park your group in a cushiony booth and wait for the procession of tangy veggies, gingery, citrusy chicken, and fresh fruit and mint tea to come your way. 

Casablanca Mediterranean Grill

Passyunk Square

So, no, Casablanca near Passyunk Avenue is not brought to you by the people behind Marrakesh. There are similar tasting menus, the same warm, dinner party-like atmosphere, and they both look like they were designed by someone who went to interior design school in North Africa. But only at Casablanca can you go for their vegetable salad, spicy chicken, and sweet baklava $30 tasting menu and throw in extras like creamy hummus and chicken shawarma over rice. The large menu gives the Mediterranean restaurant the versatility to work for a lunch with friends and an exciting date where you’ll share a couple bottles and want to order everything in sight (you should). Plus, the marketplace area means you can take unique spices to go. 

Sofi Corner Cafe

Washington Square West

In a sea of Center City drab, this French-Moroccan cafe is a  charming life raft. If you like lamb, come for dinner Thursday through Saturday, when Sofi serves a three-course tasting menu that features the best lamb shank tagine in town (don’t forget to BYOB ). But during all-day brunch on Saturdays and Sundays, you’ll find people eating massive slices of quiche lorraine and moist walnut and date cake, and sipping on mint tea out of an engraved silver teapot. It’s all delicious—the gyrating belly dancers are just a bonus.

Zorba's Tavern

This Greek restaurant in Fairmount is as quintessential to Philly as the Rocky statue. The servers treat everyone like regulars, the cozy space is filled with paintings of the Parthenon, and if the lamb fourno doesn’t wow you, the flaming cheese saganaki definitely will. They also have flavorful dips with warm housemade pita, smoky grilled souvlaki, and mussels in a drinkable red wine and feta sauce.

Stina Pizzeria

South Philly

West Passyunk’s Stina makes consistent, reasonably priced Mediterranean food, but it's also just a really fun place to hang out. Everyone walking in is excited and carrying their favorite bottle of wine, so the BYOB feels like a dinner party at a friend’s place. Although it’s technically a pizzeria, almost everything else coming out of Stina’s wood-burning oven works better than their pies . Go for an enormous, boat-shaped pide. They make three different kinds, and while they’re all incredible, the one filled with merguez, mozzarella, and tabbouleh is the one we’d take home to meet our parents. 

Barcelona Wine Bar

East Passyunk

There’s a lot to like about Barcelona Wine Bar. The food is good, the wine list is better, and their massive outdoor patio sets it apart from most other restaurants on East Passyunk . They serve the best tapas in town—like eggplant caponata, patatas bravas, and steak paillard covered in a peppery vinaigrette, which makes it a perfect spot to go with a bigger group of people. Stop by for a glass of wine before diving into some beautifully cooked seafood or spread out on their massive patio with a group and bond over your love of paella. 

Isot Turkish Cuisine

Bella Vista

Sure, Isot is where you go when you want incredible Turkish food or can’t get into Zahav . But this cozy spot is also where you should walk in with a few friends or come for a solo meal and happily live off of grilled chicken, lamb kebabs, and five different Mediterranean salads every day of the week. The portions are massive, so you can reheat the rest the next night and further delay cooking that salmon filet that’s been in your freezer for the past two weeks.

Northeast Philly

Bishos in Fox Chase is a Middle Eastern shop that’s as good for a casual meal with friends as it is for a solo lunch of lamb pita. At this counter-service spot, you'll find groups hanging out in black booths, solo diners sitting at stools near the open windows, and rotating, meat-glistening shawarmas to salivate over by the kitchen. The menu is what you’d expect: herby falafel on a bed of garlic rice, wraps, meaty skewers, and chicken with toasty za'atar saj bread—almost all cooked on the grill. And while it’s a restaurant full of familiar dishes, the housemade garlic sauces, spices, and tahini taste special every time. 

Center City

Estia is a sprawling, upscale, semi-sceney Greek restaurant in Center City that wouldn’t be out of place at a Disney theme park. Heavy-handed decor aside, Estia’s service is always attentive, it’s warm and welcoming for groups of all sizes, and if you’re prepared to splurge (mains start around 50 bucks a pop), it works well for expertly cooked lamb chops, savory lobster linguine, and lettuce-free horiatiki salad that should be on every table.

Renata's Kitchen

University City

All-day spots require a lot of upkeep: consistent service no matter the hour, and food people want to eat no matter the meal. Renata’s Kitchen in University City has both. It’s open in the mornings when students, local families, and doctors come in with a mission for the spinach omelet and falafel wrap to get them through the day.  On the weekends, it’s slower paced, and ideal for peppery shakshuka and comforting lentil soups. From the smoky merguez topped with Moroccan salsa to the  slow-braised lamb shoulder in a barberry jus, the food has flair whenever you’re there. 

Saad's Halal Restaurant

West Philadelphia

There are many reasons to fall in love with West Philly’s Saad’s Halal. The sizable restaurant has falafel platters, beef kabobs,  fish wraps, and other dishes that could inspire an impromptu 2,000 word ramble on the joys of Middle Eastern food. They also have pastries—like the $2 baklava—that taste like chocolate and pistachios made a sweet, delicious baby. Like most baklava, they’re flaky, syrupy, subtly sweet, and don’t require a small loan to eat a bunch. Whether you come in for a quick grilled chicken salad or spinach pie with feta, the massive menu at the casual spot inspires tried and true satisfaction.

Bon Kif Grill

South Street

If you find yourself on South Street and want to catch up with your friends for at least 30 minutes before diving into a feast of Tunisian dishes, Bon Kif Grill will do the trick. The casual Tunisian restaurant takes hospitality as seriously as its kabobs, shawarma, and luscious garlic spread—the owner greets every table with just-from-the-oven bread, is happy for you to linger over your shish kofta, and insists you drink his freshly brewed mint tea before heading out. Come with a casual date, or bring your entire family (they even have a toddler-sized Mercedes for tiny diners to tool around in), and relax with a spread of Middle Eastern comfort food.

I Loved Tudor’s Sailing Watch Even More While Aboard an Actual Racing Yacht

The weather report in Barcelona wasn’t looking particularly promising last month as I boarded a vessel on the Mediterranean. Leaving the Spanish coast behind me, storm clouds gathered overhead as the Swiss and French teams geared up to face off in the 37th edition of the America’s Cup. Then again, I was reminded, a bit of wind was a welcome sensation—without it, this regatta couldn’t get underway.

If you’ve never been buzzed by an AC75, the class of racing yacht used during the current America’s Cup , it can be difficult to imagine the sensation. I no longer had to imagine as the Alinghi Red Bull team’s AC75 reached its top speed of 50 knots (58 mph) and seemed to be nearly levitating as it lifted out of the water. And if it’s flying in anything resembling your general direction, this can be quite unnerving.

Even if you’re not a sailor, you’re likely familiar with America’s Cup anyway because of how frequently it intersects with the watch world. Tudor , Omega , and Panerai have all gotten in on the action, the logos of their storied brands featured prominently on mainsheets attached to each vessel’s 26.5-meter mast. For each edition of the Cup in which one of these maisons is sponsoring a team, said company will often debut a special watch, sometimes with a dedicated sailing complication such as a regatta timer. Two of the most compelling of these watches were introduced just last year: Tudor’s Pelagos FXD and FXD Chrono Alinghi Red Bull Racing Edition . As I discovered earlier this month, they become even more compelling aboard the actual yacht they’re inspired by.

The racing yacht wasn't the only thing that made me feel like a member of team Alinghi that day. I also got a chance to wear the FXD from Tudor's Pelagos line. The Pelagos collection comprises the brand's most professional diving watch, complete with heavy-duty specs, some military influence, and perhaps a bit more character than the brand’s flagship Black Bay collection. Introduced in 2012, the Pelagos line has seen continuous improvement, culminating in the recent “ FXD .” (The “FXD” is for “fixed,” a design with military provenance that secures a strap to the wrist without possibility of spring bar failure.) The black-dialed FXD immediately stole my heart upon its release late in 2023, when I dove with it in Florida.

I wasn’t the only one wearing this purpose-made FXD. The entire Alinghi Red Bull racing team—from team owner to engineer—was kitted out with them. For me, it’s a cool watch; for the sailing team, it’s essential gear. Timing is everything out on the open water. “We use a watch [the Pelagos FXD] that’s in complete sync with what we do here,” says Jaume Triay, a young engineer on the Alinghi Red Bull team who’s spent the past two years living in Barcelona to prepare for the competition. “It’s a low-weight, high-performance watch, and it’s made out of the same materials [as the AC75]; I think there’s a nice synergy.”

Everything about the Alinghi FXD is made with yacht racing in mind. The watch is made from carbon fiber to mirror the carbon-hulled AC75 yachts, with matte blue-purple dials to match the Alinghi Red Bull livery. The numbers on the bezel are arranged in the reverse orientation from those on a dive watch. Why? On a yacht, one needs to quickly calculate countdowns, which is why the numbers go from 60-0 in a counterclockwise direction, rather than the more common 0-60. I had never spent much time with either of the new FXD watches before, but had the opportunity to wear the time-only version during my time in Barcelona for the 37th edition of the America’s Cup. I’m officially a fan.

The dial is a classic Tudor affair: Done up in matte Alinghi Red Bull blue, it features a snowflake handset and matching white indices, all of which are nicely lumed with plenty of Super-LumiNova. (The indices, hands, and all bezel hashmarks glow ice blue in low light.) A red second hand matches up with red “Pelagos” text—no doubt in a reference to vintage Rolex models and in keeping with other Pelagos watches—and the rehaut, which contains the outer minute track, features the words “ALINGHI RED BULL RACING” in the upper quadrant.

“Timing is important in many aspects [of what the team does],” Triay says. “It’s important in planning, such as how much time we need to train before competing, and how much time we have to design the boat. But then also, you can think about maneuvers: Are we going to do a slow, nicely controlled maneuver, or a sharp turn executed as quickly as possible? What is best, and how do you find replicable timing in order to analyze different strategies?”

Indeed, timing was everything as we sailed out into the open ocean outside Barcelona aboard the yacht in order to watch Alinghi compete against the French team. The Swiss needed to win this particular race, lest it be forced to win three in a row in the double-round robin of the Louis Vuitton Challenger Section Series—or face elimination. I was eager to try aligning my bezel to properly time the race countdown as announced aboard the ship’s television, where the race was being broadcast live.

Stepping out onto the deck in the rain (we picked a poor day for sailing) Alinghi’s AC75 was visible in the distance, tacking hard in the driving wind and water. Its complement of ultra-skilled sailors, however, proved their competence and seamanship, crossing the starting line just as the countdown ended and gaining a significant start on the French team. Roughly 20 minutes of hard sailing later, up and down a course established by remote-controlled buoys to align with the direction of the wind, the Swiss team captured its much-needed victory.

After the win, high-fives were swapped, congratulations were offered, audible sighs of relief were exhaled. As we sailed back into harbor, we passed the AC75 furling its sails, yelling our collective “mazel tov” at the team and chase boat crews. I glanced down at the FXD and thought back to my childhood summer camp experience and the activity I most enjoyed: Sailing small Sunfish dinghies on Plunkett Reservoir. I haven’t sailed in over 20 years, but the thought suddenly crossed my mind: Maybe it’s time to sail again—Pelagos fixed firmly on wrist.
