If you’ve got a hole in your TV schedule where Selling Sunset used to be, and you’re all caught up on the latest Below Deck drama, Hot Yachts: Miami might be the show for you.

The new reality series is setting sail on Paramount+, taking passengers into the seriously glamorous world of super-yacht brokering.

Of course, there will be some choppy waters ahead as agents do battle to get their customers the biggest boats in the marina, and will stop at nothing to make them happy.

Even if that means chartering a plane just for one loaf of bread.

Yes, seriously.

Chatting to Metro.co.uk ahead of the UK release, the cast – including Katya Hall, Vika Avramchuk and Fotis Geranios – lifted the lid on some of the wildest requests they have been given, and just how luxurious the industry really is.

Hot Yachts: Miami cast

Spilling the beans on demands from customers, Katya, aka the ‘queen of super yachts’, told us: ‘We all have plenty… From having to fly provisions to chartering a plane to put a loaf of bread on it and fly it to the Caribbean…

‘I had a client calling me saying, “I’m heading to an airport – when I land I expect a 70m yacht and I want to charter it for three weeks, ready to go.”

‘We’re talking about a multimillion-dollar charter and he said, “I’m going to be unavailable for 10 hours as I’m flying. When I land, I sure hope you have a yacht for me to go on.” Things like this do happen, this is real, and we manage.

‘We get it done every time. Sometimes it seems like a miracle, but we pull them off.’

Katya sounds like someone we need to have on speed dial immediately.

Hot Yachts: Miami Katya

Many have dubbed Hot Yachts: Miami a mix of Selling Sunset and Below Deck, with the latter showing the inner workings – and scandals – of the crew as they aim to please very rich charter guests.

Kaile Justine, who worked on boats herself for years before making the switch to brokering, shared how the programs are lifting the curtain on very different subjects.

‘People who work on the boats, they’re more like a family,’ she said. ‘It’s not drama like that.

‘But being able to put lines on the boat, really stressful situations, when you have wind hitting you and the people on deck don’t know what they’re doing. Of course, that is definitely realistic, because I’ve seen it.

‘We see boats crash in Miami Beach Marina all the time, so definitely that’s realistic.’

Hot Yachts: Miami Kalie

‘I think the idea has been around for such a long time to do a TV show on the world of super yacht brokers,’ Katya continued. ‘Obviously [it’s] very glamorous, especially on the outside.

‘Sometimes [there are] dirty engine rooms and loud noisy shipyards on the inside, but it appears very bright and shiny from the outside, and that’s what we aim to do.

‘We want our clients to only have bright and shiny experiences and we’ll deal with the noisy, dirty shipyards on our end.’

The Below Deck cast have been vocal about the negative reaction they got from their fellow yachting colleagues before joining the show, with Captain Lee Rosbach admitting that he was told his ‘career was over’ for taking part .

After the program – and the spin-offs – grew in popularity, many changed their tune and jumped to get in on the action.

Hot Yachts: Miami cast

When asked about whether they had a similar reaction from their industry colleagues regarding Hot Yachts: Miami, Katya added: ‘Fotis and I have got mixed reviews, the vast majority of people love it, they think it’s a funny show.

’It is good to shed some some light on what we do, and when we introduce more people to yachting. Statistics say that only 5% of people that can afford to buy a charter yacht actually do. So for us, exposure is good, PR is good.

‘Then we had a couple of people saying, “We’re a lot more serious and we’re a lot more corporate than it looks”.

‘Sure, that’s true. But do we want to film boardroom meetings and sitting in front of a computer writing long emails? Of course not. It’s a juggling act.’

hot yachts show

Soak up the glamour and romance, together with and a good dose of bitching, backstabbing and drama as some of the biggest characters in Miami’s luxury yachting scene go to any lengths to make the biggest deals!

Miami’s not just a millionaires’ playground… it’s a BILLIONAIRE’S playground! If you’ve got the mansion, the super car and the private jet already - there’s only one thing you need… a Super Yacht - and Miami is the best place to snap one up!

Born in Siberia, Katya is now living the American Dream. One of the top brokers at an exclusive, luxury international yachting firm she says she’s not a yacht broker but a SUPER YACHT broker. She is often referred to as the ‘Queen of Super Yachts’. The boats she sells can go for up to $100,000,000, with her client base including celebs and royals!

Vika is a socialite and ex-model. Although she doesn’t have her brokerage license yet, she is working under Katya as an associate, a position she managed to get due to her connections and personality (Katya knows Vika’s mother also). Vika is learning from the best in the business but although she knows a lot of potential wealthy clients, she has yet to make a sale.

Sassy, beautiful and highly driven, Kaile has been in the yachting world for the last four years and has high ambitions to become the most successful female yacht broker in Florida.

Known as ‘Mr Yachts’ in the industry, a name he has trademarked for himself, Nick is both the most loved and hated yacht broker in Florida. Everyone knows him. His larger-than-life personality, good looks and charm are in equal measure to his arrogance and desire to win. N

Liliana, 42

Liliana is of Cuban descent but is Miami born and bred! Boating has been her lifelong passion, which is why she chose to make a career out of it. And she’s made a huge success of working on the charter side of the yacht business, currently managing fifteen active yachts, with an annual charter sales revenue of around $16million.

Jack is an under-30 entrepreneur who runs his own luxury concierge business, Coppola Concierge. As a formally trained butler, at The British Butler Institute in London, Jack has the highest level of service expertise that he uses to create bespoke experiences for each of his clients.

Juno is a well-known broker in Florida and has a high sales success rate. Known in the industry as ‘Juno The Boat Guy,’ he is a regular on the south Florida yachting and night life scene and says his favourite day of the week is ‘The Day I Close A Deal’. Juno says he’s one of the few Black yacht brokers working in the industry and is proud of his Haitian heritage. He admits the industry is male dominated and would love to see more women as yacht brokers.

HOT YACHTS: MIAMI welcomes viewers on board the most luxurious boats in the world and into the insanely instagrammable lives of the people who sell them, from Thursday 3 July.

Katya Hall and the Launch of Hot Yachts Miami

Meet Katya Hall, a seasoned engineer turned superyacht broker with over 15 years of experience in the industry. With a stellar track record and numerous accolades to her name, Katya has established herself as one of the few successful female brokers in the business. Her expertise and passion for yachts have allowed her to accomplish remarkable feats throughout her career.

Katya's journey in the superyacht industry began as a yacht management and new construction specialist. She showcased her skills by overseeing the construction of a magnificent 72m Feadship PREDATOR. This early success paved the way for her future accomplishments.

Katya explains that throughout her career at IYC (International Yacht Company), she achieved remarkable sales and facilitated numerous million-dollar charters on iconic yachts like ANASTASIA/WHEELS, ALFA NERO, DREAM, and many more. Her notable sales include the 55m Hessen M/Y SERENITY, 55m Turquoise M/Y TURQOIUSE, 50m Christensen M/Y SILVER LINING, 46m Baltic Yachts S/Y PINK GIN and 40m CHIQUI among many others. Her expertise in the industry has earned her multiple IYC Broker of the Year Awards, solidifying her reputation as a trusted and successful broker.

Ahoy Club Team

Joining Ahoy Club and the Paramount Connection with Hot Yachts Miami

Katya's decision to join Ahoy Club was driven by the company's exceptional culture and commitment to innovation. It was during her first encounter with Ahoy Club at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2022 that she noticed their standout qualities. Impressed by their team spirit, innovation, and unmatched customer service, Katya knew that Ahoy Club was a place where she belonged.

Furthermore, the connection between Ahoy Club and Paramount+ added another layer of excitement to her decision. Ahoy Club graciously allowed the Hot Yachts Miami/Paramount+ production team to film the series' first episode onboard the impressive 73m (238ft) Lürssen, CORAL OCEAN during the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. This fortunate collaboration not only showcased CORAL OCEAN as the largest yacht at the show but also highlighted Ahoy Club's gracious hospitality and accommodating nature.

Future Vision and Influence

Katya is thrilled about the future at Ahoy Club. Filming Season 2 of Hot Yachts Miami at Ahoy Club's brand-new Miami office alongside her beloved team members is a source of immense excitement. The palpable energy and camaraderie within the team are infectious, and Katya eagerly anticipates sharing this dynamic experience with viewers.

At Ahoy Club, the vision is clear - to become the most forward-thinking, modern, and tech-savvy yacht brokerage worldwide. To achieve this, CEO Ellie Malouf has brought together a group of exceptional individuals who possess not only brilliant minds but also unique personalities. Working alongside these like-minded colleagues, Katya is excited to contribute her expertise and passion to elevate Ahoy Club's brand and services.

Exciting Ventures Ahead

One of the most thrilling prospects for Katya is the opening of Ahoy Club's first US office in Miami. As a resident of South Florida and having filmed Hot Yachts Miami there, she is eager to capitalize on the city's booming tech industry and introduce potential clients to the exhilarating world of superyachts.

Katya's decision to join Ahoy Club was influenced by their exceptional culture, innovation, and the exciting connection with Paramount+. Her passion for yachts, coupled with Ahoy Club's dynamic vision, positions her to make a lasting impact on the superyacht industry. With the upcoming opening of Ahoy Club's Miami office and the prospect of filming Hot Yachts Miami Season 2, Katya is well-positioned to contribute her expertise and shape the future of Ahoy Club's success.

Reality estate-agents series Selling Sunset meets fly-on-the-wall luxury boat hit Below Deck in Hot Yachts: Miami, a deliciously OTT new show set in the high-stakes world of Florida ’s superyacht market.

It’s uber-glamorous, the wealth is phenomenal, everyone looks like a supermodel... and tensions run so high that one yacht broker is moved to call a rival a prostitute.

Against a backdrop of swanky parties, sumptuous dinners and beachside penthouses, the brokers will stop at nothing as they compete to sell superyachts to the super-rich.

But they always want more – more money, more sex, more power – and their showdowns are often spectacular.

The stakes are incredibly high. One sale could make the brokers millionaires themselves thanks to commissions of up to ten per cent, and one deal organising a yacht’s charter for $1 million (£775,000) a week could make them more than most people make in a year.

If you’re after a dose of filthy-rich, beautiful people doing battle beneath the Florida sun, get on board Hot Yachts: Miami

The eight-part series on Paramount+ introduces us to some memorable characters whose job it is to sell the super-rich their dream of sailing off into the sunset. At the centre of it are rivals Nick Cardoza and Katya Hall.

Charming and handsome, Nick calls himself ‘Mr Yachts’. Forbes magazine called him ‘The guy celebrities go to for yachts’, and he likes to play as hard as he works – his hobbies seem to be partying and womanising.

By comparison, Siberian-born Katya is the ice queen; she’s a top broker at international yacht agency IYC, her clients include Prince Albert of Monaco, and the boats she sells can go for £200 million.

But having worked her way up the ladder, Katya is desperate to stay there. The one chink in her armour is her protégée Viktoriya Avramchuk, known as Vika. An impossibly leggy former model, like Katya she’s an immigrant.

Born in Kyiv, she moved to Prague when she was 14 and then on to the US at 16. Katya gave her the job as a favour to Vika’s mother Zhanna, who’s very good at getting her own way.

Vika’s been with Katya for 18 months and is yet to make a sale – though she’s very good at flirting with clients. When she turns her attention to Nick, however, Katya is furious and warns Vika that he may not be all he seems.

Meanwhile, a third broker, Kaile, also has reason to be furious with both Vika and her mother. While she’s showing two clients around some yachts, Vika swoops in and tries to steal one of them away.

Kaile isn’t impressed to find a flirtatious Vika and Zhanna drinking champagne with her client, who seems to be revelling in having two brokers fighting over him.

Enjoying all this drama is Vika’s camp colleague Fotis, who believes trying to steal a client from under a rival’s nose is bad behaviour and is determined to bring Vika and Kaile together so he can watch the fur fly.

Monaco Yacht Show 2024: The Biggest, Boldest and Most Expensive Superyachts To See

Even in its 33rd year, Monaco Yacht Show continues to break its own milestones.

By Ellys Woodhouse and Toby Louch

hot yachts show

The principality of Monaco has a calendar that’s filled with major events. While the financial benefits of this little tax haven ensure its population remains fairly well stocked with super-rich and socialites year-round, it’s these events that truly bring the masses. April calls for the tennis at The Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters; in May it’s time for the Formula One Grand Prix ; June brings the world-famous car show Top Marques ; and summer draws to a close with perhaps the most glam of the bunch, the Monaco Yacht Show, which this year falls on September 25 – 28.

For those interested in gazing upon some of the finest yachts that can be found anywhere in the world, Monaco ’s Port Hercules is a pretty good spot year-round, but for the weekend of the Monaco Yacht Show, things enter a different league.

The Monaco Yacht Show is essentially a gathering of the global superyacht community. From owners to innovators, manufacturers and brokers, all head to the principality. Each year, builders and brokers present around 120 superyachts and 60 luxury tenders , with many of these reflecting current industry trends and revealing the potential future direction of the industry. These vessels boast an average length of around 160 ft, with a sprinkling of superyachts that top the 320 ft mark – with this year’s headliner clocking in at 400 ft.

Aside from the yachts themselves, visitors can expect countless designers improving yacht interiors and engineers working to ensure the industry becomes more sustainable. There’s sure to be a lot going on.

So ahead of this year’s event, Elite Traveler has looked into which yachts will be on display at Port Hercules and curated a list of some of the show’s unmissable vessels. So blow the dust off your Panama hat and add a few zeros to your credit card limit, because these are some of the biggest, boldest and most expensive boats attending the 2024 Monaco Yacht Show.

The undisputed biggest headline of this year’s show – in every sense of the word – Lürssen’s Kismet will be the largest yacht to go on display in Port Hercules. While the previous title holder was another from Lürssen, the 377.6-ft Ahpo, the Kismet takes its victory by a considerable mile, clocking in at 400 ft. Previously known as Project Jag, the Kisamet was handed over to owner Shahid Khan in May 2024, making it one of the show’s newest deliveries, too.

With exterior design by Nuvolari Lenard and naval architecture by Lürssen Yachts along with Reymond Langton Design working on the yacht’s interiors , Kismet is decked out with a helipad, beauty salon, indoor and outdoor cinema, dance floor and gym. Perhaps unsurprising, but all this makes Kisamet one of the most expensive yachts to charter , too, asking for €3m (approx. $3.4m) per week with Cecil Wright & Partners.

Delivered in 2019 by SilverYachts and refitted in 2024, the almost 280-ft, self-described ‘sports activity vessel’ Bold takes center stage at Monaco Yacht Show 2024. Designers Espen Øino created the superyacht’s striking, military-inspired exterior, creating a unique glass-enclosed loft on the upper deck that covers over 3,200 sq-ft of interior space. Meanwhile, Vain Interiors has created an opulent, New York-style loft, which is built to accommodate up to 12 overnight guests in eight luxurious staterooms and can carry up to 96 passengers while cruising.

With a a huge selection of water toys, a vast outdoor entertaining area with a bar and Teppanyaki grill, a cinema, an eight-person hot tub and a lounge surrounding a firepit, it’s no surprise that the Bold is a popular charter yacht, with Holl Robinson asking €875,000 ($972, 800) per week.

Following an extensive, three-year rebuild, the most expensive superyacht on the market has returned to Port Hercules for 2024, complete with a new look – and price tag, too, asking for €295m ($328m). The 344.5 ft Oceanco H3 superyacht has already picked up a handful of international awards for the new look and is expected to impress many fans at Monaco Yacht Show 2024.

In addition to the extra 10 meters that were added to the H3 ’s hull, the rebuild – from the likes of Reymond Langton Design, which worked on both the exterior and interior redesign, and the collaboration between Lateral Naval Architects and Oceanco on its naval architecture – also saw a pool deck, huge spa and wellness area and climate-controlled winter garden added to H3 ’s numerous amenities.

With its distinctive, shark-like exterior design, the 295-ft superyacht DAR will be hard not to miss at Monaco Yacht Show 2024. Built by Oceanco with exteriors designed by Luiz de Basto Design, the glossy black silhouette was inspired by the look of the hammerhead shark, with sinuous lines, wide set wing stations and a mast modeled after a dorsal fin.

Meanwhile, renowned Italy-based studio Nuvolari & Lenard has crafted swooping, contemporary interiors. DAR’s impressive features include a complete owner’s deck, complete with a private salon and jacuzzi, a wellness area, an impressive beach club, and two helipads for private use. Offering grandeur and complete privacy in equal doses, DAR can accommodate up to 14 guests in overnight accommodation, with separate living quarters to host as many as 31 crew members.

Despite only hitting the waters in June this year, the first wallywind110, Galma , is set to make its global debut at Monaco Yacht Show 2024. Measuring almost 110 ft, Galma ’s naval architecture comes from German studio judel/vrolijk & co while interior and exterior lines are designed by Wally in collaboration with Santa Maria Magnolfi. With a design that offers the comfort of a cruising yacht while maintaining the performance of a racing boat, Galma is characterized by the 22.6-ft telescopic keel and an all-carbon hull that has been painted in light metallic blue.

Other highlights of Galma include an 860-sq-ft full-beam cockpit with seating and dining for up to 15 people, as well as an open-plan raised saloon. Galma can accommodate up to eight guests overnight, with five crew members.
