The Ultimate Guide to The Yacht Week Croatia

The Ultimate Guide to The Yacht Week Croatia

The route that rules them all! Where do I begin? I have a soft spot for The Yacht Week Croatia route as it was my first experience on The Yacht Week and I obviously had such a good time that I came back… 4 more times.

Because of the massive interest in this route, they now have a black and red route that runs the same route but starting and ending in opposite directions.

There’s also the Croatia ULTRA route that takes place during the ULTRA Music Festival. I have done both the “normal” route and the ULTRA route and I personally prefer the normal route. While I had a blast, the ULTRA route had a completely different vibe than what I feel The Yacht Week is all about. You sort of lose the magic of the experience being all about the sailing and the destination because it’s centered around a music festival.

For that reason, I’ve included information below that highlights the red & black routes on The Yacht Week Croatia!

yacht week croatia 2023 reddit

Rated on a Scale of 1 (low) – 5 (high)

Nightlife: 5.

The parties can’t be beat- whether it’s the Fort George “party in a castle” or the world-famous parties on Hvar island.

If you want a once-in-a-lifetime party experience, then nothing compares to the Croatia route. If you aren’t a huge “partier” and are more interested in a cultural travel and sailing experience, I’d suggest one of the other routes.

Day Parties: 5

Some of the best day parties are also on the Croatia route. Whether it’s a massive raft party (where the boats are tied up in a big circle) or Carpe Diem club on Hvar, this route definitely takes the cake.

The final regatta is also best on the Croatia route where the crews of each boat dress up and race for eternal glory.

(Well, more like bottle service at Club Vanilla but who’s counting?)

TYW Croatia

Activities: 3

Most of The Yacht Week routes offer daytime activities to explore the destination but Croatia doesn’t offer too much outside of the organized parties. However, the routes now offer daily yoga and paddle boarding, which is a big plus. I highly suggest coming to Croatia a few days early or staying a few days after to, at the very least, see nearby  Krka National Park .

Local Culture: 2

The Croatia route is 110% about partying, so this route kind of misses any real interaction with Croatian culture unless you go seeking it. While it is about having a great time, there’s a level of sophistication that has been upheld by TYW and its guests that has kept it an amazing experience and not a trashy version of MTV’s Spring Break Cancun.

Because of the massive amount of tourism on the Croatian coast and islands (on and off of TYW) do your best to be a respectable visitor to this region. Party tourism is a touchy subject, so do your best not to be a drunk asshole outside of the party environment.

TYW Croatia

Sailing Experience: 3

Since this route is more focused on the partying I highly suggest getting a skipper — even if you sail and it’s your passion. If you want to sail yourself for the sailing experience, consider another route. You don’t want to leave the party early or sail drunk.

The Croatian coast is known for its incredible beauty, but there aren’t many days where you actually sail. Meaning you’ll have to motor because of lack of wind or the need to get to the next destination quickly. The sailing days can be short, which is a good or a bad thing depending on how you look at it (or how hungover you are).

Size of Route: 5

Approx. 50 boats per route (2 route options)

This route is the most well known and draws a LOT of people from around the world. I loved that in the course of the week I made friends from over 10 different nations. Most of whom I still remain close friends with years later.  There is no big difference between the Red and Black routes – they visit the same islands, just on different days.

Extra Costs: 5

While grocery shopping isn’t too expensive in general in Croatia, this route can rack up some serious extra costs. Port fees can cost more than $100 a night, parties can be expensive (especially if you’re buying bottle service), and you will burn through some fuel.

TYW Croatia

Pros of The Yacht Week Croatia:

  • Original and biggest route
  • Best nightlife
  • SIZE OF ROUTE
  • Great day parties
  • Lost of FUN!

Cons of The Yacht Week Croatia:

  • High additional costs along the route
  • Low emphasis on local culture
  • Weather can be unpredictable

Before You Go

Finding a crew.

Whether you have a group of friends ready to book the trip of a lifetime or not, there are a few key ingredients to putting together a crew. First off, you want a group of open-minded, fun-loving people (with at the very least, a mild sense of responsibility).

TYW is all about having a good time, but keep in mind that carrying your own weight on costs, clean up on the boat throughout the week and planning is essential for all crew members. Also, keep in mind that TYW has a “gender ratio” on most routes- meaning you’ve gotta bring some girls.

Nobody wants a bro fest.

If you don’t have a big enough group of friends to fill your boat, The Yacht Week crew finder is the best resource for putting together a crew. If you’re looking to join a crew, or are looking to fill your boat, you can find awesome people there to complete your tribe.

TYW Croatia

Booking a Boat

Once you’re ready to book, the process is pretty straightforward. The Croatia route now has 7 different weeks to choose from throughout July, August and September.

It is important to remember that most of the boats don’t have A/C or fans in the cabins, so bring your own battery-powered fans!

Getting travel insurance.

I know. I know. Nobody likes to talk about this stuff. But, what do you get when you mix cocktails, sunscreen, and a boat deck? A blonde and a broken arm. A broken arm on a remote island means a first-class helicopter ride and thousands of dollars in medical bills. Get travel insurance.

You can read more about why you need travel insurance , but consider it a small price to pay for the reassurance of a great trip.  One person in your crew should also pack a First-Aid kit. Cuts and boo-boos happen all the time.

What to Pack

Packing for The Yacht Week is pretty much the same whether you’re going to Croatia or the BVIs. Be sure to read my complete packing guide “ How to Pack for The Yacht Week in a Carry On ,” but here is a list of the essentials:

First things first, do everything in your power to pack in a soft duffle bag . If everyone arrives with big, hard suitcases there is nowhere to store them and they will lay on top of your beds or in the living room.

It’s the worst .

Most cabins have mini-closets so you’re able to unpack most of your things and roll the duffle bag up to store completely out of your way.

  • Duffle bag for your carry-on
  • Small cross body-bag for everyday use

Props & Toys

  • Country flag for your crew
  • Inflatable rafts & floaties

Miscellaneous

  • Auxiliary-cord
  • CD’s- Each boat has a different sound system setup. To be safe, I always bring an auxiliary-cord and make a handful of CD’s as well. Throw some 90’s songs on there just for nostalgia.
  • LifeProof Waterproof iPhone Case
  • GoPro with Floaty Back
  • Selfie Stick – I know they don’t make you look cool, but this is one trip you’ll want one
  • Multi-port charger
  • Floating key chain (optional)
  • Dry-bag (optional) – if you are bringing a camera or any electronic that is not waterproof
  • Battery powered fan for your cabin (optional) – some boats have A/C, some have fans… and some do not

Getting to The Yacht Week Croatia

The Yacht Week works with various marinas in Croatia and they are all located relatively close to Split Airport . The marina you will depart from and return back to depends on the yacht you choose. The marina is specified on yacht cards and in your booking.

Arrival Day and Time

Everyone arrives at different times on Saturday but it’s best to arrive that day by 1 pm to take care of check-in, grab a cocktail with your crew, then do your grocery shopping.

The yachts normally set sail between 4-6pm.

Departure Day and Time

You will get back to the marina on Friday afternoon and have to check out and leave the yacht before 9 am on Saturday morning. Remember the big closing party is Friday night, so pack up and get organized before you head out for the night (you may not come back to the boat until sunrise!)

Extra Costs on The Yacht Week

In addition to the cost of the yacht, meals and transportation costs, you will also have to pay for the fuel and port fees during the week that you sail. I’ve included the different prices from The Yacht Week website in the list below.

The prices you see below are calculated on a Bavaria 45, which is a yacht with 10 beds. The prices will vary depending on what size of boat you choose.

NAME   MARINA BUOY ANCHOR TAXI SERVICE
Split   $105 none none none
Vis   $95 $27 $22 included
Komiza   $75 $22 none $11
Hvar   $100 $33 $33 $16
Palmizana   $100 none none $16
Natural Bay   none none $27 none

TOTAL PER YACHT (In USD)

COUNTRY  WATER FUEL TAXI PORT FEES TOTAL
Croatia $90 $290 $290-300 $780-800  About $1,500

And last, but not least, don’t forget to tip your “skip” at the end of your trip. (They’re not just there as eye-candy. That’s just a huge bonus.)

Grocery Shopping Yacht Week Croatia

Grocery Shopping Guide

I’ve consistently found that grocery shopping for a boat of 10 people costs between $1000-$1500 for the entire week. So, assume approximately $120 minimum needs to be pooled from each crew member.

NOTE: Consider your skipper an extra head to count when doing your food and booze shopping for the boat. A well-fed skipper is a happy skipper.

Both times I have done the Croatia route, I sailed from different marinas, so it’s best to wait for your Arrival Document for information on where is closest to your marina to shop.

Yogurt and granola with fresh fruit is pretty much my go-to breakfast on sailing trips. But, eggs also keep really well! Buy bagels and the fixings and some fresh bread so you can make egg sandwiches or toast. Don’t forget instant coffee if you are a morning coffee drinker!

In Croatia, you can’t go wrong stocking up with supplies to make a giant salad every day for lunch. Buy lots of tomatoes, onion, cucumbers, romaine lettuce, olives, mozzarella cheese balls and balsamic & olive oil. It’s easy to prepare a big portion for everyone to share, then each person can make whatever else they feel like: canned tuna, a sandwich, pasta, etc.

You can plan to eat out for most dinners — and, in Croatia, you’ll find most meals organized by The Yacht Week are worth attending!

NOTE : All boats have stovetops and small refrigerators, and most catamarans have a BBQ on the back, but double check before you head to the store.

Don’t forget to buy lots of snacks! Stick to your senses- something salty, sweet, savory and sour! Lots of chips, some gummy candies, fresh fruit, dry meats & cheeses with crackers, etc. Hard boiling eggs and keeping them in a ziplock in the fridge is also a great idea for a quick protein packed snack.

Buy lots of water. The rule of thumb is 1.5 liters per person per day. Best tip is that everyone brings their own refillable water bottle, then buy water in gallon jugs. As for alcohol- buy twice as much as you think you need! A few bottles of wine for meals, lots of champagne, rosé, beer, hard alcohol, and mixers!

There might be salt and pepper on the boat, but don’t count on it. You’ll need to buy your own spices, sauces, mayonnaise, ketchup, etc.

Don’t forget things like paper towels, toilet paper, garbage bags and ziplock bags! For grilling, the charcoal bricks make life really easy.

Croatian yacht island hopping is the best and costliest but worthy. Not many choose to go more up the coast from Dalmatia to islands like Rab and Krk, and they’re very “yachty” with more sandy beaches.. Perhaps there’s just too many islands .. Glad you liked it in Croatia!

The Yacht Week Croatia Review: Know Before Your Go

Perhaps you've heard to rumours, the stories, and the legends about the Yacht Week. It sounds awesome. But so did the Taco Bell Cheese Roll-Up burrito . It is all hype, or is it the real deal? This Yacht Week Croatia review has the answers.

In the interest of educating the masses, I sacrificed myself. From Aug 9-17 ten buddies and I embarked on the Yacht Week Croatia in search of the truth.

We found it.

My Yacht Week Croatia review summary is that it's awesome…  b ut   i t's not for everyone.  And there are definitely some things you should know in advance. Here are some key figures to shed light into the inner workings of the mayhem and help you prepare for your own experience:

And for those of you who don’t know what the Yacht Week is, watch this video:

The Yacht Week Croatia Review by the Numbers:

Number of nationalities represented at Yacht Week.Somewhat surprisingly there was nobody from Russia, the Middle East (not even Israel), or Asia. Nevertheless, the chance to cavort with and befriend people like you from around the world was definitely a highlight of the Yacht Week.

Number of nationalities representing 80% of the yacht weekers: American, Australian, Brazilian, Spanish, and German. In other words, while the Yacht Week Croatia draws a worldwide clientele, it's not THAT diverse.

Nationalities we had on our boat, “The Love Boat”: German, Swedish, Swiss, Canadian, Portuguese, South African, and Namibian. This definitely played to our advantage in drawing the attention of other boats.

Estimated age of the average yacht weeker. The youngest were 22 and oldest closing on forty, but most were in the late 20s to early 30s range.

Average age of the skippers, who are supposed to keep everything in control. No wonder chaos ensued.

This may be crude, but no Yacht Week Croatia review would be complete without sharing how much sex goes on. Fifteen is the number of girls the eight single guys in our crew “got intimate” with during the week. Just under two girls per guy might not seem like a lot, but most of our crew settled on “Yacht Week girlfriends”, meaning they hooked up with the same girl each night. If getting laid is one of your objectives at Yacht Week Croatia, you're in luck. It is very easy.

Percentage of yacht weekers who were female. At least. If anything, there were more girls than guys. Everyone—guys and girls—seemed to agree it was an ideal ratio.

Yacht Week Croatia circle raft

Estimated total number of hours we were actually at sea. And some of that was early in the morning while we were sleeping. The vast majority of our time was spent anchored or at harbor. The Yacht Week is not about boating; it's all about partying.

Hours we actually had the sails up. We only put our sails up twice in the whole trip.

Estimated average sleep quality score, out of 100 during the trip. The cabins get unbearably hot at night. This forces you to sleep on deck, which is not designed for sleeping. And sleeping outside leads to an inevitable early wake up as soon as the sun comes up. I’d recommend following the skippers’ lead: bring a hammock and something to cover your eyes.

Number of full meals we ate per day. With the exception of one egg salad, that meal was always pasta. Other than that, for sustenance we snacked on fruit, cereal, pizza, sausages, bread, and booze.

eating at Yacht Week Croatia

Boats doing the same route as us, the Yacht Week Croatia Black Route. At the same time, 46 other boats were doing the Red Route, which is the same route but in the other direction. That’s a lot of boats and a lot of partiers.

$850 (4900 kuna)

Total spent on groceries at the Getro by the marina before sailing off for the first time. We ate it all and then some.

$35 (200 kuna)

Amount we were extorted into paying for the 250 meter taxi ride to bring our haul of groceries from the Getro supermarket to the Marina Kastela. Bring some dollies or carts from the marina so you can push the stuff back yourselves and avoid being ripped off.

$10, $1, $0.5

Approximate cost of a bottle of vodka, a can of beer, and a kilogram of bananas respectively at the supermarket by the marina where we started our trip.

$30, $2.50, $3

Cost of the same vodka, beer, and bananas at the harbor by Hvar where we spent two nights. Buy as much as you can at the begging in order to save money.

$260 (1500 kuna)

Amount each of the eleven in our crew contributed to the pot, which was used to pay for joint expenses like groceries, gas, and harbor fees.

$4.50 (25 kuna)

Typical cost of a can of beer at the Yacht Week parties. If you’re a cheap-ass like me, be sure to pre-drink, or make a party mix that you can stash nearby.

$350-$900 (2000 to 5000 kuna)

Cost of getting tables at the parties. Don’t get tables. The parties are free-for-alls and you won’t be spending much time at your table anyways. If you want drinks, buy them individually or take advantage of other people’s tables.

Number of skippers (the guys we paid to captain our boats for us) who said Yacht Week Croatia is their favorite. Without exception, they said they thought the Yacht Weeks in Greece and the US Virgin Islands were better. That’s not to say Croatia is bad at all – it’s awesome – but food for thought for those considering signing up and deciding where to go.

Number of times in my life I will do the Yacht Week. It was an even better time than I expected, but it's the polar opposite of the type of traveling I prefer (blending in) and I’m not sure my body could survive another. Plus, it’s expensive and there are plenty of other experiences and parties to be had in life. I recommend everyone do it once at least. And if you’re crazy, you’ll be back for more.

Disclosure: Whenever possible, we use links that earn us a cut if you pay for stuff we recommend. It costs you nothing, so we'd be crazy not to. Read our affiliate policy .

Just did The Yacht Week Croatia. Wish I read this before going there to be a little bit more prepared. Really liked your article and all the numbers – especially the cost for taxi and food supply. Actually, all the numbers were quite accurate and interesting!

SUPER HELPFUL, thank you!

Glad to hear it, Alexandra! Enjoy the summer

All the guys and girls are so shredded and ripped. Does this mean that the less attractive bodies don’t get a fair chance to get laid ?

Hi Kamlesh. I'd say it's no different from the non Yacht-week world.

Thanks for sharing! Was searching info for the yacht week and found this article helpful.

You're welcome. This post is getting old, so hopefully some of the info in it remains reasonably accurate.

Hi, two things:

1.Im planning to travel in July, should I opt for an AC yacht or non AC one? is the heat really unbearable? 2. A bit embarrassing but I am a snob in these How well equipped are the toilets of the yacht like?

THANK YOU FOR THESE GREAT TIPS. The company emailed my friends and I that our boat is no longer available. Im hearing the ac yacht is not worth it. Some nights the boat ran out of fuel and they didnt have ac until later that morning. What is your opinion?

What do you think? (Leave a Comment.) Cancel reply

The Truth About Going on a Yacht Week in Croatia

yacht week croatia 2023 reddit

It’s rare I take vacations with friends these days, but the stars aligned and four (very busy and hard to plan) girls from across the US met up for Yacht Week Croatia, sailing from Dubrovnik to Split across the dazzling Adriatic Sea. In short, it was one of the best weeks of my life and a perfect ending to an amazing summer of adventure.

yacht week croatia 2023 reddit

Here’s an Unfiltered Look at the Experience:

First, it’s important to understand I did not say I went on THE Yacht Week, which is the company most people are familiar with. Their branding is incredibly well known and reaches all corners of the globe (who wouldn’t want to bask under the sun with those hotties in the promo video ?). The truth is, there are many competitors to Yacht Week Croatia – sailing companies that offer week on a yacht for a set fee so if you’re considering Sail Week vs Yacht Week, make sure you consider all your options and read the reviews. We did our homework and chose to embark with the Sail Week Croatia for a number of reasons – and I’m pleased to report our expectations were far exceeded.

Why We Chose Sail Week  Croatia over the Yacht Week: Itinerary and Price

The Itinerary: A lot of the companies we researched (ahem: The Yacht Week Croatia) looked extraordinarily spring breaky, promising young 20-somethings the perfect girl to guy ratio and Europe’s hottest nightclubs. They offer Party Weeks, Ultra Week (to the huge music fest), and basically a week of binge drinking. That would’ve been great 10 years ago, but when you’re in your 30s, you usually want to remember the experience. Sail Week has that kind of trip too, but what caught our eye was Adventure Week . The route was completely different than the party cruise (so we wouldn’t run into them) and each port offered a different activity like hiking, biking, kayaking, and SUPing. Full disclosure, it was a bit more soft adventure than I would’ve liked, but it was still actively exploring instead of wasting the day sleeping off a hangover.

The Price: We spent a week on a yacht (included was 7 nights accommodation, breakfast and lunches) for less than $800. Yes, you read that right. Essentially the same program as The Yacht Week for a fraction of the price. With the Yacht Week Croatia, you can choose how big of a boat you want (there’s a joke there), but you’re still paying for the brand name. They also try to upsell you on their food and drink packages, which start at about $915. Ouch. On Sail Week Croatia, you simply buy your own snacks and alcohol at each marina. Always do your homework if you’re looking to save money on travel.

yacht week croatia 2023 reddit

The Setup: Each boat held eight guests plus the skipper; so half our boat was my friends. The other two were couples on their honeymoon (great humans, but a little weird due to the lack of privacy…we’ll get to that later). There were three other boats in our bevy so about 35 people total. The number of boats varies each week by demand (they operate every week of summer).

  • The thought “life is hard” will run through your head often. You will regularly wonder what you did to deserve this terrible life cruising Baller Bay with the beautiful people.
  • There’s plenty of downtime (which I sometimes need forced up on me). Actually getting to catch up on reading for fun was a whole new world and a necessary reset.
  • You will feel like you have this whole amazing corner of the world to yourself. There are hours of blue expanses where you won’t see another vessel or another human.
  • The water is unlike any shade of blue you’ve ever seen (and you’ll take more pictures of it than you ever dreamed possible).
  • The skipper made the trip. The glue that ties the group together, Zoran was a fantastic human (and it didn’t hurt that he looked like a cross between Paul Walker and Ryan Gosling).
  • We went in early August and had perfect weather. Or at least perfect weather for tanning. There was not a cloud in the sky, and no wind either so not a whole lot of actual sailing happened, It was more motorboat week (bad joke).
  • Our skipper was a world class BSer and liked to mess with us so it was hard to know what was true. Much to our surprise, a few of the stops did in fact have floating markets which would deliver breakfast to your boat, or even better, mojitos from the floating bar.
  • Can we talk about how solid the WIFI was in the middle of nowhere? We were rarely without Snapchat or Instagram.

yacht week croatia 2023 reddit

  • This isn’t the mega yacht you’re picturing having seen Below Deck . There’s no maid or crew. Just one lone (albeit fantastic) skipper who does everything from steering to cleaning and cooking.
  • Quarters are tight, but you will get over the fact that there is no possible way you can sleep in a space that small. As soon as you accept you’ll be on top of each other, you’ll learn to stay out of each other’s way. The good news is, aside from sleeping you’ll rarely spend time in your cabin.
  • The bathrooms are another story. You will quickly get used to hearing everything. You’ll get extraordinarily close to your bunkmates joking about who’s turn it is to take the toilet paper bag out (no flushing of paper allowed). Let’s just say life on the boat doesn’t leave much to the imagination.
  • Showers on the boat are interesting also. You have to ration the water between port stops and not every marina has facilities (you’ll appreciate the ones that do even more).
  • You will come home with random bruises all over your body with no idea how you got them. It’s inevitable.
  • At some of the ports, we had to dock via anchor away from land, which made coordinating dingy runs to use the potty interesting.
  • Omg the bees. They were everywhere!

What Surprised Me:

I wasn’t sure I’d like this type of vacation because I get bored at the beach in about two seconds. After lying out for an hour I’m usually antsy and wondering what we’re going to do next. I typically only spend 2-3 fast-paced days in each country before moving on, which each day packed to the gills with active adventures. This was basically doing the same thing for a week straight – a deep dive into one country.

Thankfully, my worries were completely unfounded. We quickly eased into the routine of 1-3 hours of sailing in the morning, stopping at unique swimming coves, and exploring each new port at night, which broke the day up and kept us on the move. The cities were remarkably different from each other, bustling historic gems like Dubrovnik (do the Game of Thrones tour even if you’ve never seen the show) and Korcula (Marco Polo’s hometown) to happenin’ Split and Hvar and completely remote spots you’d never think to visit (some without a single bar).

Synopsis: What are you waiting for? Go!

I would recommend Sail Week Croatia to anyone in their 20s or 30s looking for a unique vacation (older folks, charter a private boat). It was ridiculously affordable (especially if you use miles for flights) and CNN just said Croatia rules the Rivieras. The country is poised to blow up in the next few years; get there while it’s still under the radar and a hidden gem. I personally can’t wait to get back. We were extremely happy that we did our homework and did not just go with the Yacht Week because it was the first company we saw: we crossed paths with their ships along the route and it looked like we were having an even better experience for a fraction of the cost (while getting our adventure on).

Other Things to Note:

  • Sail Week lets you sign-up as a solo traveler without a single supplement. The Yacht Week has a Facebook page to help connect you to people looking to fill open yacht spots, but doesn’t technically let you sign-up solo.
  • There are plenty of other providers that offer similar sailing experiences in Croatia so do your homework. You can even charter a yacht and captain it yourself if you’re confident in your skills.
  • Spend a day or two before or after your cruise exploring inland Croatia — Plitvice Lakes and Krka are both incredible national parks with waterfalls for days.

Like It? Pin It!

Yacht Week in Croatia is a glamorous way to cruise the Baltic, but is the cost worth it? Is it a party scene the whole time? What's the sailing like? Will I be bored on the boat? Sail boats, water, summer fun, beautiful people. I'll dish on that, life on board, a suggested packing list, themes, and a travel review and pictures of this dream trip for future vacation inspiration. Girls trip, anyone? #yachtweek #sailweek #travel #trip #croatia

This is the official app for Yacht Week which can be downloaded via the app store on Iphone or Android. The app is a platform where you will meet everyone who will be on your week; you can share pictures, find your itinerary,  interactive map and location pins, direct messaging and information on the community.

This will be the only way for you to contact your skipper and host (if you have one included) and for them to contact you.

Crew Finder . 👫

Do you need help filling your yacht? Crew Finder is the way forward! 🙌

This is a platform on our website where you can advertise your yacht to people who are traveling in 2s, groups of 4 guests or are traveling solo! You can post an advert and people will reach out to you via email. This is an excellent way to get your yacht full, you will find where to do this on your booking  profile and you have a template to fill out so you're not left completely in the dark!

Upgrades. 👍

If you have been chatting to your friends, comparing your yachts and realized that they have a bigger yacht then you…! My advice to you would be to reach out to our team and get yourself an even bigger and better one and then call them right back!! You can email us to arrange this, [email protected] for further information.

Your skipper and host. 👫

Your skipper and host (if you have included one!) will become your best friends by the end of your week! Your skippers are your navigators for the week taking you to the best swim spots on the islands and your host will be your mum; cooking, keeping your yacht clean and making sure your week is seamless!

Tipping is customary in the maritime industry. It is entirely up to the crew to judge whether your host and skipper services warrant a tip. Please feel free to tip at your own discretion.

On some nights you will eat out to give your host some nights off, these are nights where you could invite your skipper and host out for dinner with you and your crew. It is custom that you pay for their dinners and make sure there is enough food for them on board the yacht. Our Ethos . ♻️

We are an open-minded community of friends. One that respects the environment and are incredibly lucky to experience some of the world’s most beautiful locations. We are committed to keeping them that way, so we expect our guests to follow 4 simples principles:

Respect the Local Community - We ask you to treat the local community with respect and decency, we are here to have fun but in other words: Keep it classy.

Respect the Environment - Be cautious of the amount of plastic bottle water you use, stay dehydrated but we advise you to bring your own water bottles to prevent this. Try and sail as such as you can, you are on a yacht in the middle of the ocean! Plus the silence of sailing beats the humdrum of a motor any day. Lastly, nothing should be thrown overboard and all rubbish should go into a rubbish bin immediately to avoid it blowing into the sea!

Respect Each Other - The Yacht Week is full of wonderful people from all over the world, which makes our community so special - we advise you to embrace it!

Respect the Yachts - We charter the newest yachts available, therefore we ask you to look after your floating home, never jump off a moving yacht, don’t attempt to drive it unless the skipper says, only use the fenders to fend off the yacht never use your body and most importantly  listen to the skipper as they are in charge of the yacht and your safety!

yacht week

Are you a party animal in search of an unforgettable experience? Look no further than The Yacht Week in Croatia! This week-long extravaganza is held annually in the beautiful and underrated destination of Croatia. But here's the twist - all the parties take place on yachts! If you're ready for an adventure filled with epic parties, stunning scenery, and lifelong memories, then The Yacht Week is the place to be.

What is The Yacht Week?

Choosing your route, booking your yacht week experience, accommodations on the yachts, exploring the islands, the parties - the highlight of each day, dining on the yacht week, budgeting for the yacht week, the importance of your crew, arrival and departure.

The Yacht Week is a renowned seven-day festival that takes place in six different locations, with Croatia being one of them. It all started back in 2006 when a group of friends from Sweden decided to create their own sailing experience for adventure seekers like themselves. Since then, The Yacht Week has grown to include 70,000 people who love to explore, party, and sail.

When it comes to The Yacht Week in Croatia, there are seven different routes to choose from. Each route offers a unique experience, with varying levels of partying, local exploration, and cultural immersion. The Original Croatia Route is the most popular choice, known for its legendary parties and breathtaking scenery. But if you're looking for something different, you can also opt for routes in Italy, Greece, Montenegro, the Caribbean, or Grenada.

Once you've decided on the route that suits your preferences, it's time to gather your crew and book your yacht or cabin. It's important to book early as the boats per route are limited. You can book directly through the official website of The Yacht Week to secure your spot and start planning for the adventure of a lifetime.

During The Yacht Week, your home will be the yacht itself. While the accommodations may not be lavish, the boats are well-maintained and provide a comfortable space for you and your crew. It's important to note that space on the yachts can be a bit cramped, so be prepared for close quarters. Most boats have multiple bathrooms, but it's essential to be mindful of water usage and follow proper toilet etiquette.

While The Yacht Week is known for its epic parties, it's also an opportunity to explore the stunning islands of Croatia. From secluded bays to charming towns, there's no shortage of beauty to discover. Take the time to go on excursions, rent a Vespa and explore the islands, or simply walk around the towns and indulge in local delicacies. It's all about finding the perfect balance between partying and experiencing the culture and natural wonders of Croatia.

Let's not forget the main attraction - the parties! The Yacht Week Croatia is famous for its legendary parties, and each day offers a unique and unforgettable experience. From the Riviera Chic party in Hvar to the Fort Party in a historic fort, the festivities are non-stop. Snagging a table with bottle service is highly recommended for a more comfortable experience. The Raft Party and Regatta are also highlights not to be missed. It's all about dancing, socializing, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

While onboard, you'll have the option to have your own hostess who will cook breakfast and lunch for you and your crew. Trust us when we say, this is worth every penny. Your hostess will take care of the meals, ensuring that everyone is well-fed and ready to take on the day's adventures. However, there are also plenty of opportunities to eat out at local restaurants and enjoy the delicious cuisine of Croatia. Don't forget to try traditional dishes like Peka, and indulge in some mouthwatering ice cream from local shops.

It's important to be prepared and budget accordingly for The Yacht Week. While the cost will depend on various factors such as the route, yacht type, and group size, it's essential to account for expenses like groceries, port fees, water taxis, bottle service, and group dinners. Splitting costs evenly with your crew is recommended to ensure a fair distribution of expenses. Planning ahead and using apps like Splitwise can help keep track of expenses and settle the bill at the end of the trip.

Your crew plays a significant role in the success of The Yacht Week. It's important to have a group of like-minded individuals who are open-minded, responsible, and ready to have a good time. The Yacht Week places emphasis on the ratio of guys to girls in your group, so it's crucial to ensure a balance. Having a skipper and hostess on board is also highly recommended, as they will provide guidance, take care of logistics, and enhance your overall experience.

Arriving a day before the official check-in time is recommended to avoid any potential travel delays and ensure a smooth start to your Yacht Week adventure. Booking accommodations near the marina allows for a good night's sleep before embarking on your journey. On the departure day, you'll return to the marina, check out, and bid farewell to your yacht and crew. It's a bittersweet moment, but the memories and friendships forged during The Yacht Week will last a lifetime.

The Yacht Week in Croatia is an experience like no other - a perfect blend of adventure, partying, and exploration. From sailing the stunning Croatian coastline to dancing the night away at legendary parties, this week-long extravaganza is sure to be the best week of your life. So gather your crew, book your yacht or cabin, and get ready for an unforgettable adventure that will leave you with memories to last a lifetime. Embark on The Yacht Week in Croatia, and let the party begin!
