A yacht charter in the Mediterranean is a great way to delve into the wonders of this breathtaking region, where endless summer sunsets await and a rich tapestry of culture beckons at every turn.
Knowing the true price of a yacht charter in the Mediterranean isn’t always as simple as it should be. The region is made out of different countries with different rules, VAT and costs of living, and the same yacht can be chartered at a very different price depending on several variables that you should be aware of.
Here is a breakdown of the prices to expect if you want to rent a boat in the Mediterranean, along with some insider tips from us if you want to sail in the region “on a budget”.
It’s important to know the different factors that can influence the price of a yacht charter in the Mediterranean region. With all the variables clearly laid out, you will be able to make more informed decisions and play with one variable over the other to adjust your yacht charter to your budget .
The yacht you are going to charter is the variable that will likely influence the most the total cost of your yacht charter.
The Mediterranean region has a very broad selection of yacht available for rental, and the price range is simply huge: from 700€ a week for the cheapest bareboat rentals up to more than 1,000,000€ a week for the biggest superyachts.
In most cases in the Mediterranean, the bigger the yacht, the higher the price . Longer yachts have more crew to operate them, use more fuel and are generally more high maintenance than the smaller ones. The APA of a yacht rental is directly proportional to its base-fee, so be prepared to have a higher APA with a bigger yacht.
The demand for specific yachts can also significantly increase the price of the yacht. This is especially true for bigger / historical yachts that have their followers, and less the case for bareboat rentals.
Where you are going to sail your yacht has a big influence on the total cost of your charter. It would be a mistake to think of the Mediterranean region as a place where prices are more or less unified.
There are big price differences between Mediterranean countries due to various reasons:
So, even if you spend most of your time onboard your chartered yacht, the rental price of the same boat in different countries can vary quite significantly as moorings, taxes, staff and on-land activities in general won’t necessarily cost the same.
The base fee of a yacht charter usually only covers the cost of chartering the yacht itself. You need to add the Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) on top of it to cover the variable costs.
The APA is directly proportional to your yacht (so usually the bigger the yacht the higher the APA), but also to how luxurious you want your charter to be.
If you want to eat luxurious food and high-end alcohol during your yacht rental, expect to pay a little more than if you go for simplicity.
To know more about the price of chartering luxury yachts, we highly recommend you to read “ How much does it cost to rent a yacht? “, or to use our calculator below to get a free estimate based on a yacht you’ve seen and/or your budget.
The Mediterranean is a very seasonal region , and the yacht rental market isn’t an exception.
The Summer season is by far the most popular time to discover the Mediterranean area. In consequence, people come from all over the world to travel to the France Riviera, Italy, Greece or the Balearics during that time of the year. Most prices are at their highest during Summer: hotels, plane tickets, but also yacht rentals.
The shoulder season , which is from April to June and September to October, is also a popular choice. The weather is usually pleasant, the crowds on the lower end, and prices are more budget-friendly. A good “budget vs weather” compromise.
Winter in Europe is by far the lowest season in the Mediterranean, and the best one to enjoy the biggest deals if you are not hunting for the hottest temperatures and sunniest weather.
The below example with Greece is a great illustration of weather, season and hence price variability of yachts charters in the Mediterranean.
The Mediterranean region has the same issue as most yachting hotspots in the world: the boats available for rental are in limited numbers . On top of it, as we previously mentioned, the season is much shorter in the Mediterranean than in other regions such as the Caribbean.
It can therefore be wise to book a lot in advance of a yacht charter in high season if she is usually in demand, as the chances of her being booked at your dates are high.
On the other hand, last minute bookings are also a way to enjoy good deals with the boats that haven’t been booked or that got cancelled. You sacrifice being picky on the boat you rent and on planning in advance your trip, but you might save up a little in return.
Now that we have the variables out of the way, here are some of the minimum prices you can expect for yacht charters in the Mediterranean region. The prices below do not include expenses and APA.
If you have the qualifications to sail a boat yourself without a skipper, you can start renting a yacht from 1200€ / week in the Mediterranean region.
At this price, you usually have a simple sailboat for up to 6 passengers, and you are more likely to be in the Eastern regions of the Mediterranean, such as Croatia or Turkey, although you can still find great deals at very similar costs in more expensive countries such as France.
If you need an experienced skipper to safely sail your yacht during your charter, the minimum price is around the 2,500€ / week throughout the Mediterranean region.
The price of the skipper can vary significantly depending on the country and the season you are sailing. Some Mediterranean countries may have cheapear labour costs than others, but the demand can influence the price both up and down.
For a luxury yacht with a full crew in the Mediterranean region, the low end price is around the 8,000€ mark per week for sailing yacht and sailing catamarans.
Above 15,000€ / week , you start to be in luxury yacht charters territory, with longer yachts and/or more staff to add luxury to your experience.
The cost to charter superyachts in the Mediterranean starts at around 50,000€ / week with no upper limit.
If you want to know the price ranges of a yacht charter in the Mediterranean, here is the full breakdown based on the type of yacht, its size and including the usual variable costs (Food & Beverage, APA, VAT, taxes etc…)
Keep in mind: these are ranges. You will find a lot more yachts available for rental in the middle of these price ranges rather than at their extremities.

There are several ways to decrease the total cost of your yacht charter in the Mediterranean region. Here are some tips.
The cost of living can influence the total budget of your sailing holidays. It can therefore be smarter to pick one of the cheap Mediterranean countries for your yacht charter, especially if you plan on spending a lot of time on-land, which can increase your mooring fees and activities prices.
Here is a list of regions where the cost of living is lower and/or that are less popular than most famous Mediterranean yachting hotspots:
The following regions in the Mediterranean tend to be the most expensive, which can get even worse in the highest season:
A great way to save money but still enjoy the wonders of the Mediterranean region is to rent a yacht during the shoulder season.
The further you are from the main summer months (July-August) and the likelier you are to find big discounts. Keep an eye on our exlusive offers if you are looking for a good deal.
Many yachts are simply never rented out during winter and the months around it, and so their owners are willing to discount their prices drastically for the adventurous sailor.
The shoulder season in the Mediterranean, especially May-June and September-October, is a time where the weather is still very nice, most tourists are gone and the price much more affordable. You do need to sacrifice a bit of heat and sun, but the gamble usually pays off!
If you want to charter a yacht on a budget, do not feel shy to go towards smaller yachts.
Bigger yachts aren’t always the answer to everything. Sure, they are usually more comfortable and more luxurious than the smaller ones, but that doesn’t mean you should sleep on shorter boats.
The sailing feelings can be very thrilling and sometimes even more intense on a smaller yacht than on bigger ones. A small group of friends or family members and an experienced skipper is usually more than enough to be a guarantee to have the time of your life during a yacht charter around the Mediterranean.
There is no “one size fits all” budget when it comes to yacht charters prices in the Mediterranean. The Mediterranean is a huge sailing playground covering several countries with different regulations and levels of popularity and exclusivity.
One sure is certain though, the Mediterranean doesn’t have any shortage in terms of areas that can be explored on a yacht! With all the kind of yachts available for rental in the region, you are sure to find one that suits your need and your budget.

Most luxury boat rentals have five or six staterooms or cabins in various configurations, including twins, double, queen, and king beds. On most charter yachts, you can customize the configuration of the cabins dependent on the number of guests. This will allow you to take between six and 12 charter guests. Depending on the charter vessel, staterooms may include ensuite bathrooms, state-of-the-art entertainment systems, private study areas, and walk-in wardrobes. Larger mega yachts may have additional cabins for staff members like nannies, security, or personal butlers.
It depends on the yacht. For example, you could ask for a master cabin that is separate from your yacht charter guests if you want enhanced levels of privacy. If you are one big family, you can request a yacht with cabins closer together. If sleeping arrangements, including the placement of cabins, are an important consideration, then let your charter broker know.
Of course, kids are welcome aboard a yacht charter in the Mediterranean. Most yachts welcome nannies, too, with some larger superyachts having additional staff rooms specifically for nannies. A yacht charter offers a wonderful family vacation. Onboard amenities, including swimming pools and cinema rooms, are guaranteed to keep youngsters entertained, as too are the water toys, such as snorkeling gear, inflatables, fishing gear, and kayaks. The crew quarters are separate from guests. Charter crew are highly professional and are trained to provide exceptional service levels with the utmost discretion. They will be as visible as you want them to be.

This time 12 Knots invites you to discover the most traveled part of the world – a glorious journey around the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.
It is a long, lively, occasionally challenging and endlessly fascinating trip off from Gibraltar, one of the fabled Pillars of Hercules, up the coast of Spain, along the Riviera, to the islands of Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily, then Croatia, the Greek islands and way-way to Istanbul in Turkey.
Sailing along the coastlines as wild and diverse as anything you encounter before will give you a real insight in this world – while probing through layers of traditions and culture, ancient and modern, rich and poor, fake and authentic.
Be open to surprise and serendipity, be willing to get lost and appreciate each routine’s uniqueness.
The Mediterranean Sea is an intercontinental one that separates Europe from Africa. The Strait of Gibraltar connects it to the Atlantic Ocean on the west; the Dardanelles and the Bosporus – to the Black Sea on the east; and long man-made Suez Canal – to the Red Sea in the south-east.
Renting a yacht in the Mediterranean is a great alternative to a standard cruise on a liner – this way you will feel the true freedom and get unique experience as a real traveler! Spain, Croatia, Italy, France, Montenegro, Turkey, Greece, Malta - wherever you want to go, 12 Knots will help you to charter a yacht that will definitely meet your needs, type of vacation and budget. "The cradle of civilization" offers a huge number of attractions. Secluded bays with paradise beaches and lively cities, fishing villages with colorful boats and modern marinas filled with premium yachts. There is no other part of the world where you may find such a great gastronomic, architectural and nature diversity.
Renting a yacht in the Mediterranean Sea will give you chance to see many countries of this area in a different perspective. Instead of visiting standard touristic places you’ll be able to visit wide variety of little-known places far from the standard routes. For example, the Cote d'Azur is not only the luxurious ports of Saint-Tropez, Monaco and Nice with luxury restaurants, casinos and a great concentration of mega yachts. Here you may also find little fishing villages, where in a family restaurant you can dine on freshly caught fish with white or rose wine. Spain is not only Ibiza discos and beaches of the Costa Brava, full of tourists and pareo vendors, but also quiet harbors with amazingly clear water, where you can enjoy unusual solitude.
Mediterranean yacht charters is the opportunity to do what you want. Every day you can taste local versions of Mediterranean dishes that differ in terms of cooking method, spices and sauces. Without any haste, you may stroll among the ancient ruins and climb the walls of beautifully preserved ancient fortresses, offering spectacular views on the sea - exactly the same as hundreds of years ago.
Your vacations will be much more interesting if you choose to rent a yacht. The Mediterranean coast length is over 40 thousand km, 21 countries and three continents with different coastal relief. Here you can find almost everything: volcanos, starch-white and coal-black lava sand, pebbles and shell rocks.
For photographers, video bloggers and movie lovers, renting a yacht in the Mediterranean also gives the opportunity to see a lot of interesting things – in a quite unique way. Among the places that must be visited is the Italian town of Portofino, where Antonioni / Wenders shot one of the episodes of the romantic drama “Behind the Clouds”. Also don’t miss the Amalfi Coast, which is often served as a backdrop for films about beautiful life. One of the most scenic views here is Positano village with its colorful houses that cascade down right to the blue water.
Those who love nature and silence should include in the list one of the secluded Greek islands with bicycles and boats. You can rest peacefully on some beaches of the eastern coast of Sicily, and find a great combination of warm turquoise of the sea and white fine soft sand. If you are getting bored with peace and tranquility, you may always get off the anchor and set up sails to the place where life is in full swing - like Ibiza, in Barcelona, ??Monaco.
One of the main features of the Mediterranean region is its relative compactness and high dencity of different attractions. History and architecture, museums, nature, beach attractions and water sports, shops, amusement parks - all of these can be in just one sailing vacation.
Mediterranean bareboat yacht charter gives you a chance to visit places that are almost inaccessible from land, because they have neither a parking lot nor a safe trail to the sea. You may find plenty of secluded coves in rocky shores of Turkey and Greece, where every spot can be your personal secret place, whit not risk of finding another company.
Dazzling white streets of the small coastal towns in Greece or red tiled roofs of Montenegro, contrasting with the huge mountains. Malta’s cultural microcosm, where European, Arab and African intertwined, and where, in addition to the magnificent Gothic and Baroque buildings, there are prehistoric sanctuaries, the secrets of which have not yet been solved. Turkey, with places not touched by resorts, where you can clearly feel the breath of antiquity. All this can be points of interest during your yacht charter in the Mediterranean Sea!
For active travelers who value independence versus staying in one spot, decision to rent a boat in the Mediterranean Sea is definitely a solution. If you plan an ordinary trip with an accuracy of one day and hotels bookings in advance, then yacht gives you a chance to improvise and change your plan. Renting a yacht is two in one option: accommodation and transportation at the same time.
It is not surprising that Mediterranean yacht charters are in great demand and one of the most popular sailing destinations offered by 12 knots. Sailing in this region is a dream for many people, while we make it a reality. We offer bareboat and crewed yachts for charter from classic Turkish gulets to modern sailing boats and premium yachts. Our manager will give detailed information each boat so that you can make the right choice.
Above all we also can help with itinerary and destination ideal for your needs and time of the year. For example, if you are looking for diving or other waters sports, we will tell you the best spots for underwater attractions and the best way to get there. Where to find the most beautiful views? Which cities should go to catch spectacular holidays? Where are the best water parks, shopping centers, casinos, discos? Answers to all these questions will help create a unique roadmap.

Tucked between the Cote d’Azur and Tuscany, this narrow strip of land is home to famous locales such as Portofino, Cinque Terre, Bordighera, San Remo, and Genoa. The old-world flair, colorful buildings, and quaint fishing villages exude style and charm; it’s no wonder this is such a popular charter destination.
Also known as the French Riviera, the Cote d’Azur is a hub of new superyachts and private yacht charters. Mediterranean cities and towns such as Saint-Tropez, Cannes, Nice, Antibes, and the principality of Monaco have become world-renowned, with this sun-drenched area acting as the playground of the rich and famous. This beautiful stretch of coastline was one of the first destinations to be considered a “resort area” due to its great weather and idyllic landscapes.
Located approximately 160 km from the French mainland, this island’s culture is an amalgamation of the various foreign nations that have occupied Corsica over the years. The capital of Corsica is the city of Ajaccio, the birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte, perhaps Corsica’s most infamous son. Corsica has about 1000 km of coastline, much of it accessible only by boat making it perfect for luxury yacht charter . Mediterranean cliffs and mountains cover much of the island and deliver scenery you will not soon forget.
The island of Sardinia is the second largest in the Med and a very popular destination for luxury yacht charter. Mediterranean Costa Smeralda, translated to mean the Emerald Coast, is world-renowned for it’s turquoise seas, rugged landscape, and exclusive resorts and hotels. With its beautiful beaches, stunning scenery, fantastic nightlife, and secret grottos to explore, Sardinia is certainly a yachter’s paradise.
The fabled land of Persephone and Aphrodite, Sicily has been enchanting visitors with its natural beauty for centuries. Located in the center of the Mediterranean, directly off the tip of the boot of Italy, this island has been host to the Greeks, Romans, Spanish, Arabs, Normans, and finally the Italians. This has left an indelible imprint not only on the architecture of the region, but on its people as well. With such a varied and rich history, culture, and scenery, Sicily is not to be missed.
The Mediterranean coast of Spain and it’s Balearic islands offer a fantastic blend of old world culture, thriving nightlife, picturesque scenery, and fabulous cuisine for those on a private yacht charter. Mediterranean cruising will take you down to the islands of Ibiza, Mallorca, and Menorca for sunshine, hidden bays, old world charm, and secluded beaches. Best to stay off the beaten path to truly experience the essence of these islands. Discover ancient fishing villages for mouthwatering tapas and seafood.

The Mediterranean yacht rate structure in a contract to charter a boat is as follows. First, there is a fixed base rate for the boat and the crew. Second, there is a “variable” part which is called the APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance).
This is, essentially, an “advance” that you are making to the Captain of the vessel to cover expenses that are unknown at this point. For example the fuel, and yes, sailing vessels actually use fuel too, for the generators and main engines if used – fuel is dependent on the itinerary and the itinerary is unknown at this point because you, as the charterer of the vessel can legally ask the captain to visit different places and ports when you are on board, also the weather can change and if you have the wind against you the vessel may consume more fuel than if you were running down-wind.
All of these items are collectively grouped into this “variable” part of the rate that is covered by the APA. Now, to make things easier for the charterer (you) we, as booking agents, tend to assign a percentage of the base rate to cover the APA. In the case of Greece, for example, we tend to give you an approximate figure that ranges from 25% to 30% of the base rate for sailing vessels and 30% – 35% of the base rate for motor yachts.
So, as an example, if your base charter rate is E5,000 a day, and we assign 30% extra so it becomes E5,000 + E1,500 for the APA, or E6,500 a day plus VAT (European Value Added Tax) on the base rate. The European VAT can change depending on the flag of the vessel and the port of departure and the certification of the vessel. There have been some discussion recently in various EU governments about the taxation of domestic and foreign yachts, so the VAT is and will continue to be, a moving target.
At the end of your charter, the captain will reconcile the actual expenditures vs. the APA with actual receipts, so you know where the money has gone and he will give you periodic updates as to where you stand with the APA.
5% to 7% of the base charter rate is a good rule of thumb, depending on service, of course. The gratuity should be given to the captain so he can distribute it to the other crew members.
All this sounds a little complicated but it has developed naturally over the years as a protection for the client as well as the ship-owner. All inclusive packages sound great but you’ll usually be over-paying for something. The “plus- expenses” system protects you because you only pay for what is actually spent.

I like the picture man. Mediterranean is a perfect place for yacht charter. There are a lot of green places to see there. If you dont bother about budget, i will recommend people to make atleast one week commitment for this tour to enjoy it. If you have more money, then go for 2 weeks tour. 🙂

Yacht Reviews
By Katia Damborsky Last Updated: 21 March 2023
The Mediterranean is calling, and to help you have the best yacht charter vacation this summer, we've rounded up all the insider secrets, stand-out itineraries and hand-picked recommendations across all the most popular charter destinations for 2024.
From the golden beaches of the Balearics to the glamorous shores of Italy , the Mediterranean is home to a treasure trove of popular superyacht spots. If you're looking to book a yacht charter vacation in the Mediterranean for 2024, it can be daunting to know where to begin.
But with the help of brokers and yachting experts, we've put together our ultimate edit of the top destinations to visit by superyacht in the Mediterranean . Packed with tips and first-hand recommendations, our guide will give you the complete low-down to ensure you get the most from your vacation.
The hedonistic hotspot of Ibiza has had a shakeup in the last few years. Sure, you can still go for the epic nightlife and parties, but dedicate a few days of your superyacht vacation to exploring the burgeoning health and wellness scene that’s sweeping the White Isle.
Drop anchor at Playa d’en Bossa, then head to Beachouse for a sunrise yoga session on the sand. Lunch calls for a trip to ROTO in the marina, offering stunning views of the motor yachts in the harbour, and out over the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Dalt Vila.
Dedicate a few days of your Ibiza superyacht vacation to exploring the burgeoning health and wellness scene
Spend the afternoon cruising around the rocky island outcrop of Es Vedra to experience its magnetic lure, then round off the day at Blue Marlin for a dose of Balearic beats. And of course, you’d be remiss not to add Beso Beach to your itinerary; this beach bar-restaurant is an Ibizan staple that sits just a stone’s throw from Ses Illetes in Formentera. Expect nothing but good vibes and cool crowds.
Our Favourite Ibiza Itineraries:
Don’t miss: The Mojito Man, who can be summoned to your anchored yacht via a quick Instagram message armed with ingredients to make you a mojito on deck. Clientele includes Cristiano Ronaldo, Leonardo DiCaprio and Wayne Rooney. If it’s good enough for them…
The French Riviera has no shortage of trendy outposts, but St Tropez glitters with particular cosmopolitan brilliance.
After a morning exploring its pink streets, cruise over to Pampelonne in time for lunch. Be sure to book ahead for Club 55 , the most iconic venue in the Cote d’Azur, and try and reserve a coveted table in the later lunchtime slot if you’re looking to rub shoulders with Hollywood heavyweights and the A-list elite.
For some post-lunch entertainment, head to Verde Beach . Expect blast-from-the-past beats and dancing on the tables, as the St Tropez in-crowd transform Verde Beach into the most happening party in Pampelonne. Head back to the main port for dinner- L’Opera has got the ‘the dinner and a show’ concept down to an art.
Our Favourite St Tropez Itineraries:
Don’t miss: The Sunday morning market in Place des Lices . As well as fresh Provencal produce ranging from fruits and vegetables to meats and cheeses, you can also find antiques and vintage fashion pieces. Have a cafe creme in the square after the stalls are packed up, and watch the locals enjoy a game of boules.
Synonymous with romance, culture and rustic charm, the Amalfi Coast is one of the darlings of the Mediterranean. This region is worth a visit for those in search of timeless beauty, proper Italian dining and UNESCO-listed heritage.
Evening aperitifs are best enjoyed at Le Sirenuse
Begin on the south side of the coast with a trip inland to Ravello, a medieval village that sits at dizzying heights above the sea- take a walk around the gardens of Villa Rufolo , then enjoy a meal at Palazzo Avino overlooking the mountains and the sea.
Evening aperitifs are best enjoyed at Le Sirenuse , a chic hotel in Positano decked out in colourful majolica tiles with a terrace that offers unbeatable views over the town. Then, be sure to head down to the commune of Nerano to dine at one of two celebrity-approved restaurants; Lo Scoglio da Tommaso and La Conca del Sogno .
Our Favourite Amalfi Itineraries:
Don’t miss: A cruise to Capri. This little island is steeped in beauty and history, with plenty of villas which you can visit and natural attractions such as the Blue Grotto and La Faraglioni .
Best time to visit: june-october.
Scattered across the Mediterranean, the islands of Greece are ideal for exploring by boat. Set course for the Cyclades, where gems like Santorini and Mykonos are as alluring as ever.
If you’ve only got one day to spend in Santorini, we recommend a trip to Akrotiri for a look at an ancient Greek settlement, and Santo Wines , for a taste of the region’s finest vino overlooking the famous caldera.
Mykonos is set to be equally popular this summer, with the beach clubs buzzing and the picturesque bays studded with shiny superyachts. Head to Nammos for beachside dining, luxury shopping and partying among celebrities. If you're looking to spend a day on shore, Cavo Tagoo is the place to be: caves carved into the chalky cliffs create a remarkably pretty setting.
Afterward, you should head over to Delos to take in the sights of these wondrous archeological ruins, which date back to 300 BC. Rich in mythological significance, this UNESCO-listed island offers a fascinating insight into the country's history and culture.
Our Favourite Greek Itineraries:
Don't miss: A trip to the island of Milos, just 85 nautical miles outside of Santorini. An up-and-coming hotspot, visitors have gone wild for the island's flourishing food scene, volcanic beach and clear blue sea.
You’d be forgiven for mistaking Sardinia ’s sugar sand and pellucid blue sea for a slice of Caribbean paradise. Set adrift from the Italian mainland, this island has it all; come for the luxury retail, stay for the swimming, snorkelling and beachside bliss.
The eastern coast is where you'll find most of the island's famous beaches
Visiting superyachts make a beeline for Hotel Cala di Volpe , a celebrity-approved hotel on the waterfront with private moorings available for the ultimate convenience. Enjoy a relaxed lunch on the terrace or an evening meal alfresco; the service is slick, the staff are friendly, and if you choose to spend a night on shore they’ll be more than happy to accommodate you.
Down the eastern coast of the island is where you'll find most of the island's famed beaches. Consistently voted among the best in Europe, they're all simple and straightforward to access from your yacht, and promise a relaxing day of swimming and soaking up the sunshine. Among the best is Cala Goloritze .
Our Favourite Sardinian Itineraries:
Don’t miss: For a beach party with a difference, Phi Beach is still the destination of choice for the SuperyachtSet. Take a tender straight up to the shore and while away the day drinking, dancing and dining.
Sitting on the eastern tip of Croatia's coast, Dubrovnik is ideal for those looking to take some time out to recharge and enjoy the delights of discovering a new city. Bordered by sparkling Adriatic water, Dubrovnik is known for its Gothic architecture, dramatic terrain and buildings capped by baked clay-red rooves.
The pace of life is slower in the city, so be sure to take some time to walk the stone streets and soak up the charms of Croatia . Trees grow everywhere, infusing the air with the scent of sweet figs and bitter oranges, for which Dubrovnik is renowned.
If you're visiting during summer, you'd be remiss not to check out the Dubrovnik Summer Festival . This celebration of classical musical sees the city come to life with music and art, with plenty of concerts and recitals on the schedule.
Our Favourite Dubrovnik Itineraries:
Don't miss: A trip to Mljet , a small island just a short cruise north of Dubrovnik. Ask your yacht crew to get the water toys out, and spend an afternoon kayaking and paddleboarding in the clear waters.
Turkey's Turquoise Riviera has long been popular among private yachts, but recently we've seen an upswing in the demand for yacht charters in the region as well. Fethiye is one of the most popular spots to charter , as it provides access to tiny islands too small to name, sky-blue lagoons and secret coves where you drop anchor and swim straight up to the shore for lunch.
Fethiye is one of the most popular spots to charter in Turkey
Speaking of food, you should pay a visit to Lebessos Winehouse during your trip. Housed in a 400-year old stone cottage in the town of Kayakoy (which has been deserted since 1923) this restaurant is the gourmet dining leader of Fethiye. The venue earns extra points for its taxi service, saving you the hassle of booking a transfer.
The service is friendly and accommodating and the local cuisine is authentic and perfectly-prepared- opt for tender lamb kleftiko, levissi chicken with chilli yogurt or honey-drenched figs. Plus, the restaurant has its own wine cellar where you can sample the local wines of Turkey.
Our Favourite Fethiye Itineraries:
Don't miss: The Blue Lagoon of Oludeniz , where you can relax in the sand or spend some time playing with water toys.

Yachts in your shortlist
From luxury yacht charter costs to crew tipping etiquette, ensuring you're well-versed in the intricacies of yacht charters will make your experience all the more enjoyable. Before you set sail on this exclusive adventure, let's dive into the details of yacht charter costs so you know what to expect.
What influences the cost of chartering a yacht, types of yacht charters: understanding your options, seasonality and its impact on rental rates, charter fees explained: what's included and what's not, size matters: how yacht size influences charter costs.
Setting sail on a yacht isn't just about the base charter fee. Lo and behold, there's a whole treasure trove of additional expenses to consider, and understanding what influences the cost of chartering a yacht for a week is like navigating the high seas – it’s essential.
First off, there’s the base charter fee – that’s the hire cost of the yacht itself, complete with crew, equipment, and insurance. You also need to factor in additional expenses, like the Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), Value Added Tax (VAT), and tips for the crew .
The overall price tag can vary wildly based on factors like yacht size, luxury level, travel season, and destination. As prices vary even among seemingly similar yachts, it is important to understand the factors that affect the weekly charter price. First and foremost, the size of the yacht and whether you are chartering in high or low season. After that, several factors are taken into consideration: the builder and the build year, the number of cabins and layout, the number of crew, the yacht’s reputation, water toys, amenities and equipment.
All of this can seem overwhelming if you are new to the world of luxury yacht charters, but don’t worry — that’s where our expert charter brokers come in! They’ll handpick a selection of yachts tailor-made for your ideal getaway. Each option includes detailed specs, lists of water toys for fun in the sun, and highlights of all the amenities onboard. Plus, we’ll even introduce you to the crew and give you a taste of the culinary delights that await with a sample menu.
Bareboat - If the boat is listed as a bareboat, that means you are only paying for boat rental. You are in charge of hiring the crew, or you take on the role of the captain, with a proper license. None of the expenses are included in the price so you’re obliged to cover the service fee (transit log), fuel, dockage, food and drinks for your charter party, etc. Furthermore, the security deposit is a standard for bareboat charters and usually payable in cash or credit card.
Skippered - Skippered boats or yachts come with a captain/skipper, a licensed professional who is responsible for navigating the vessel. The captain can provide you with useful insights, suggest what to do and where to go, he/she has extensive knowledge of the cruising area and knows the ins and outs of the vessel. Their rate is included in the charter price, but all other expenses are covered by you.
Crewed - Crewed yacht is an umbrella term that includes a wide range of yachts, varying in crew size and yacht size. If you take a look at our crewed yacht charter fleet, you can choose from 21.46m M/Y BAZINGA with captain and stewardess on board, all the way to 55M superyacht TALEYA with the crew of 12, both of these yachts are crewed, but the difference is obvious. Having a crew on board guarantees all your needs are met and your safety is ensured.
When it comes to the cost of renting a yacht for a week, the season can make all the difference. From the vibrant culture of Croatia to the irresistible charm of the French Riviera and the scenic beauty of Italy , the Mediterranean offers delights for every type of traveler. The charter season typically runs from April to October, with each month offering its unique charm. April to June and September to October are considered the low season, marked by reduced charter rates. Plus, the weather in those months is still pleasant, making it the perfect time for exploring the destination without the crowd.
On the flip side, July and August are the high season, with demand – and rates – reaching their peak. Most yacht owners set sail during these months, so if you're planning to cruise in high season months, be sure to book early. Our charter brokers recommend setting your dates at least 6-9 months in advance to secure your vessel. Remember, the best yachts always get booked first.
Charter fees can seem like a maze of expenses, but fear not – we're here to guide you. The main idea behind luxury yacht charters is customization, tailoring a vacation to fit your needs specifically. This is not a one-size-fits-all business and it is not easy to have a single price.
What’s included in the charter fee?
Charter yachts above 20m in the Mediterranean usually operate under MYBA terms, which is the case with the Yacht IN charter fleet . MYBA charter terms can be described as a “plus all expenses” charter. The base charter rate refers to the cost of the yacht itself, inclusive of all equipment in working order, tenders, water toys, basic consumables for the galley and cabins, yacht laundry, crew wages and food, and yacht insurance. All other operational costs incurred during the charter are charged to the charterer separately and in addition to the yacht’s charter rate.
Other expenses that will be charged to the charterer in addition to the yacht’s charter rate under MYBA terms:
VAT - short for “Value Added Tax '' is applied on top of the yacht’s charter rate and the amount is determined by the VAT rate of the EU country in which the charter begins. Current (May 2024) VAT rates across Mediterranean countries are:
For charters commencing in a non-EU country, but passing-by or ending in an EU country, VAT will be applicable for the number of days spent in the EU country’s territorial waters. For example, If you start your charter in Montenegro (Non-EU country) and stay there for 1 or more nights before entering Croatian waters where you'll disembark, you will pay less VAT, i.e. 13% of VAT will apply only on days spent in Croatia.
APA - short for Advance Provisioning Allowance, is an amount usually ranging between 25% - 40% of the yacht’s charter rate, which you’ll pay in advance to cover all operational expenses during your charter period, referring to: food and all beverages for you and your charter guests; berthing dues and other harbor charges, local taxes, divers’ fees, customs formalities and any charges for waste disposal, charges for water and electricity taken from shore; personal laundry; Charter Party communications and internet use (if not included already in the yacht’s rate); and hire or purchase costs of any special equipment placed on board at your request.
The captain is in charge of handling the APA budget on your behalf and will keep a record of all expenses during your charter. The balance will be returned to you at the end of the charter. If more funds are needed during the charter period, the captain will alert you in time.
Delivery/redelivery fee - Delivery fees may apply if you require your charter to start/end in a port other than the homeport of the chosen yacht. You will be charged for the fuel used to relocate the yacht to the port of your choice. In some cases, the owner may charge you “empty run” days for the distance and time required to deliver the yacht to compensate for revenue lost due to delivery.
When chartering a yacht, size does matter. The size of your vessel should be determined by a few key factors: the number of guests you'll be cruising with and the level of comfort you desire. Most luxury charter yachts can accommodate anywhere from 6 to 12 guests, though there are exceptions to every rule. Whether you're planning an intimate gathering or a lively party at sea, there's a yacht size to suit your needs.
But it's not just about headcount – you'll also want to consider the type of yacht that best fits your style. Are you drawn to the sleek lines of a motor yacht, the spacious layout of a catamaran, or the timeless elegance of a sailing vessel? And let's not forget about the grandeur of a superyacht for those seeking the ultimate luxury experience. When thinking about the average price to rent a yacht, keep in mind that superyachts will traditionally be the most expensive when calculating yacht charter costs, while smaller vessels may be more affordable.
The following explanation applies to motor yachts exclusively as sailing yachts and catamarans fall under a different, usually less expensive category.
Motor yachts under 20m I price range €15,000 - € 35,000
In this size range, you will usually find the most affordable options, with 2 to 3 cabin yachts that accommodate 4 to 6 people. These yachts are chartered bareboat or with 1 crew member, a skipper.
Example I Skippered yacht Azimut S6 LEDA
Motor yachts between 20m - 24m I Price range €18,000 - € 45,000
Yachts in this range usually have 3 luxury cabins for 6 people, but some yachts have 4 cabins for 8 people. As the size grows, so does the number of crew and these yachts usually have 2 to 3 crew members (a captain, a chef, and/or a hostess). You can read here about the benefits of chartering a yacht up to 24 metres .
Example I Princess Y72 ELIZABETH
Motor yachts between 24m - 30m I Price range €35,000 - €100,000
This size range offers a variety of choices, from fast open yachts to more comfortable and stable displacement, two-deck yachts. These are usually 4 cabin yachts that accommodate 8 guests, but some exceptions have a fifth cabin. A crew from 2 to 4 members is on board. Prices vary significantly as these yachts differ in age, size, amenities, selection of water toys, etc.
Example I Ferreti Custom Line Navetta 26 FRIEND'S BOAT
Superyachts between 30m - 40m I Price range €50,000 - €160,000
There is a big gap between 30 and 40 meters, which is reflected in the price range. More luxurious yachts are common in this category as features are more exclusive: jacuzzis, spacious social areas, comfortable staterooms, a bigger selection of water toys, and more equipment in general. A bigger size means more space, which means more comfort and stability. Yachts with 5 stateroom cabins for 10 people are prevalent in this size range. In some cases, the master suite is located on the main deck which is an attractive feature. These yachts run with 4 to 7 crew members, meaning the service provided is more tailored and the stay is more luxurious than on smaller yachts, as expected.
Example I Sanlorenzo SD118 ANDIAMO
Superyachts between 40m - 50m I Price range €80,000 - €330,000
Full beam master suites, upper deck VIP stateroom, offices, huge bathrooms, three decks with dining and social areas, sundeck Jacuzzis, and the list goes on. All of this becomes a standard on yachts in this size range. These yachts have up to 6 staterooms that accommodate up to 12 guests. The crew size grows to up to 12 people and the provided service is second to none.
Example I Benetti HAPPY ME
Superyachts +50m I Price range + €250,000 - Million
The prices skyrocket within this category and whatever you imagine as the pinnacle of exclusivity is found on these superyachts and megayachts. The possibilities here are endless; gyms, beach clubs, private owners' decks, spas, helipads, cinemas, pools, and high-performance tenders are just some of the features in this size range.
Example I TALEYA (ex Rarity)
Chartering a yacht in Croatia offers a range of options to fit various budgets and preferences. The cost of renting a yacht for a week can vary depending on factors like the size and luxury level of the yacht, the duration of the charter, and the time of year. On average, chartering a yacht in Croatia can range from around 15.000 EUR per week for smaller vessels, while larger luxury yachts or superyachts can cost upwards of 100-300.000 EUR per week plus expenses.
No, they are not. Value Added Tax, commonly known as VAT, isn't factored into the entire charter fee; rather, it's determined by the VAT rate applicable in the country where the charter commences. VAT rates across the Mediterranean range from 5.2% in Greece to 22% in Italy.
How much should you tip the hardworking crew who have made your maritime dreams come true? The average tip typically ranges from 5-15% of the base charter fee, but ultimately, the choice is yours. Whether you opt for a modest gratuity or a more generous gesture, remember to show appreciation for the crew's hard work and dedication throughout your charter. Million-dollar bashes: a peek inside the 1%'s favorite party destinations.
Yachts, villas, and private performances in lavish destinations are all the makings of a party for ... [+] the wealthy.
When it comes to throwing a party, the wealthy don't just settle for a local venue—they go all out with destination celebrations that are as extravagant as they are unforgettable. And it's not just about destination weddings anymore. From milestone birthdays to exclusive events, these high-profile parties are taking place in some of the most luxurious and remote locations across the globe. Steve Einzig, CEO of BookingEntertainment.com , who has booked events on every continent—except Antarctica—says it best:
“The locations are a huge part of the experience of the party as it becomes part of the uniqueness of seeing an A-list act in such an intimate setting. Not only are the guests having a once in a lifetime concert experience, it’s happening in an incredible location that is not usually used for concerts (a private villa, a yacht or an estate for example). If we can time the sunset with the time of the concert, that can also bring another incredible dimension to the experience as well.”
With that in mind, here are some incredible locations where Einzig and his team have helped clients book entertainment for some of the most over-the-top bashes.
Imagine this: A two-night private party for 75 guests, held behind a $25 million villa at the prestigious Amanyara resort in Turks & Caicos. The first night? The Wailers. The second night? Earth, Wind & Fire. Yes, you read that right.
For those familiar with Amanyara, it's an extraordinary collection of private villas set along the ocean on the remote side of the island. Each villa is its own oasis, complete with a private chef, guest houses, pools, and a pristine beach. Hosting a concert under the stars on the private beach of one of these lavish villas is nothing short of magical. The ocean waves, the Caribbean breeze, and iconic music legends—this is the ultimate party venue.
Trump vs. harris 2024 polls: harris leads trump in latest post-dnc surveys, today’s nyt mini crossword clues and answers for wednesday, august 28th, yacht in porto santo stefano – a mediterranean surprise.
Take a 257-foot yacht, anchor it off the coast of Porto Santo Stefano, and surprise your guests with a performance by the Gipsy Kings. Sounds like a dream? Well, it happened.
The yacht was stationed on the Mediterranean coast, just an hour north of Rome, and the surprise element was key. The band was secretly brought on board via a tender and sneaked through an ocean-level door, up the elevator, and into the galley, which had been transformed into a green room. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the birthday boy had no clue what was coming. When the Gipsy Kings started playing, the evening turned into an unforgettable Mediterranean experience, with the stunning backdrop of the Italian coastline.
How about a private concert with Bon Jovi at Mick Jagger's old house in Barbados? This mansion, now owned by the client who hosted the party, sits on a cliff overlooking the ocean, with two levels that create a natural stage for rock legends.
The setup was ideal: a top-level mansion, a staircase leading down to a pool house, a lawn, and a cliff that plunges 200 feet to the ocean below. The bands performed with the ocean as their backdrop under a full moon that reflected perfectly off the water. It was nothing short of spectacular, a rock-and-roll fantasy come to life.
Picture this: A 21st birthday party for the daughter of the Lavazza coffee empire owner, hosted on a private beach in Piombino, Tuscany. The event was an elaborate dinner celebration, capped off with a surprise performance by international DJ Robin Schulz.
The whole event was so grand that news stations covered it from afar. Tuscany's natural beauty, an exclusive beach, and world-class entertainment combined to create a once-in-a-lifetime experience for the guests.
For a more remote yet equally luxurious option, consider hosting a milestone celebration at the ultra-luxurious Amangiri Hotel in Utah. Imagine a custom yurt and stage built in the middle of a canyon, with 150 guests enjoying a surprise performance by Nelly. The unique desert setting, coupled with the hotel's opulent accommodations, made for an unforgettable 50th birthday party that could easily have cost a few million dollars. The lighting setup alone, bouncing off the canyon walls, turned the desert into an ethereal dreamscape.
These destinations prove that when it comes to throwing a truly over-the-top bash, the sky's the limit—and so is the budget. From private islands in the Caribbean to luxury yachts in the Mediterranean and even secluded desert canyons in Utah, each location offers something unique and spectacular. So, if you're planning a milestone birthday, an exclusive event, or just want to throw a party that no one will forget, these destinations are where memories (and possibly a few million dollars) are made. Now, the only question is: Where will you throw your next legendary bash?

Police divers resumed searching Tuesday for six people believed trapped in the hull of a superyacht that sank in deep seas off Sicily, including a British tech magnate who was celebrating his recent acquittal on fraud charges with the people who had defended him at trial.
Civil protection officials said they believed the Bayesian, a 184-foot British-flagged yacht, had been struck by a tornado over the water. The ship had been moored about a half-mile offshore off Porticello near Palermo when a storm rolled and the vessel sank at about 5 a.m. local time on Monday .
Grainy film from closed-circuit cameras from shore, broadcast on the website of the Giornale di Sicilia, showed the majestic, illuminated 246-foot mast of the Bayesian weathering the storm and then disappearing over the course of a minute.
Fifteen of the 22 people aboard survived, including a mother who reported holding her 1-year-old baby over the waves to save her. One body was recovered, identified by officials as the Antiguan-born on-board chef. The rest of the 10-person crew survived, including the captain whom prosecutors reportedly sought to interview.
However, CBS News senior weather producer David Parkinson said Tuesday that it's still too early to determine whether the yacht was hit by a waterspout or a downburst. A waterspout is a meteorological term for a tornado over water, while a downburst consists of powerful winds that descend from a thunderstorm and can often be misinterpreted as a tornado, according to the National Weather Service.
As of now, Parkinson said, it's only safe to say that the yacht was impacted by a severe thunderstorm. Based on satellite imagery, there were strong to violent thunderstorms in the area where the yacht sank, Parkinson said.
That said, early Monday morning conditions were appropriate for either the development of a waterspout or a downburst, Parkinson explained. At around 4 a.m. local time Monday, the winds spiked, with wind gusts above 43 mph in Palermo. About 10 minutes later in the town of Aspra — which is 20 miles from Palermo and three to four miles west of where the boat sank — wind gusts of 51 mph were recorded, and the thunderstorms appeared to intensify as they moved east.
In cases of downbursts, when wind hits the water's surface, it increases the wind speed, Parkinson said. While at the time the boat sank, water temperatures were 84 degrees Fahrenheit, which would be warm enough to support the development of a waterspout, Parkinson said.
"It's a great, great tragedy," said Britain's ambassador to Italy, Edward Llewellyn, who visited Porticello on Tuesday. Britain sent four investigators to the scene, given the disaster involved a British-flagged ship and British citizens were among the missing.
Fire rescue officials have said the six other passengers will be considered missing until they are located in the wreckage. They include tycoon Mike Lynch , who was once hailed as Britain's king of technology and was cleared in June of fraud and conspiracy charges in a U.S. federal trial related to Hewlett Packard's $11 billion takeover of his company, Autonomy Corp.
Also unaccounted for are Christopher Morvillo, one of Lynch's lawyers, and Jonathan Bloomer, a chairman at Morgan Stanley International and the former head of the Autonomy audit committee who testified in Lynch's defense.
The wreckage of the luxury craft is some 164 feet underwater — far deeper than most recreational divers are certified for and a depth that requires special precautions. Recovery crews could only stay for 12-minute shifts, a measure that slowed their efforts to reach the cramped inside of the wreck.
Karsten Borner, the captain of the Sir Robert Baden Powell, which rescued the 15 survivors who managed to get into a lifeboat, said he was close enough to be able to see the Bayesian as the storm came in.
"A moment later, she was gone," he said. "They said they went flat on the water and were sunk in two minutes," Borner added, quoting the survivors.
The rotating search teams, each made up of two specialized cave divers, worked Tuesday to open up access points to get inside the wreck. They were using a remote-controlled underwater vehicle, or ROV, to help in the search.
The divers hadn't been able to access the below-deck cabins because they were blocked by furniture that had shifted during the violent storm. Rescue crews said they assume the missing six are in those cabins because the storm struck when most would be sleeping, but the teams haven't verified their presence there through portholes.
Luca Cari, a spokesman for the rescue teams, said the search was proceeding much more slowly than another big shipwreck in Italy, the 2012 Costa Concordia cruise ship that flipped on its side off Tuscany's coast, because of the depth of the wreck and the limited space divers have to maneuver.
"That was much simpler. Here everything is more tight," he said.
The outing was intended at least in part as a celebration of Lynch's acquittal and a "looking forward to what was coming next," said Reid Weingarten, a Washington attorney and a member of Lynch's defense team who was not on the yacht.
"A lot of people went, a lot of people were planning to go and then of course this happened," Weingarten said.
Some of the people who stood by Lynch throughout the ordeal were on board, including Morvillo, the lawyer, who Weingarten worked with and said "was like a brother."
Morvillo's wife, Neda, is also missing, according to his law firm Clifford Chance.
Aki Hussain, CEO of international insurer Hiscox Group, where Bloomer, the witness, was chairman, said the company was "deeply shocked and saddened by this tragic event."
"Our thoughts are with all those affected, in particular our Chair, Jonathan Bloomer, and his wife Judy, who are among the missing, and with their family as they await further news from this terrible situation," he added.
Among the survivors, the Emslie family was released from Palermo's pediatric hospital on Tuesday where little Sofia had been kept overnight after her rescue. Her mother, Charlotte Golunski, had reported that she momentarily lost hold of the 1-year-old in the water but then managed to hold her up over the waves until a lifeboat inflated and they were both pulled to safety, doctors said.
The father, identified by ANSA news agency as James Emslie, also survived.
"They don't talk much, primarily because they consider themselves survivors and they don't understand why they survived given what they went through," said Dr. Domenico Cipolla, head of the emergency room at Di Cristina Pediatric Hospital.
Speaking to reporters Tuesday, Cipolla said Golunski had reported that she and the baby were sleeping in the cabin and suddenly found themselves in the water, where they also found Emslie who had been in a different part of the ship. Cipolla said the parents had been in touch with other survivors, who are being housed at a nearby hotel and were waiting for other family members to arrive in Sicily.
The baby slept well overnight and all were released after final checks Tuesday morning, he said according to a videotaped interview posted on Palermo Today, adding that psychologists had been made available.
Among the other survivors was Lynch's wife, Angela Bacares. Hannah Lynch, reportedly the couple's 18-year-old daughter, is among the missing.
The yacht's registered owner is listed as Revtom Ltd., according to online maritime database Equasis. Bacares is listed as Revtom's sole owner, according to corporate registration documents from the Isle of Man.
Its name, Bayesian, may be a reference to "Bayesian Inference," one of the two main approaches to statistical machine learning and the one that was used by Lynch's company.
The yacht, built in 2008 by the Italian firm Perini Navi, was carrying 12 passengers and 10 crew. According to online charter companies, it had been available for charter for about $215,000 a week and was notable for its massive aluminum mast, one of the tallest in the world.
The coast guard said to date there was no trace of fuel leaks from the wreckage.
In an unrelated event, Lynch's co-defendant in the Autonomy trial who was also cleared, Stephen Chamberlain, was killed Sunday when he was hit by a car while running in Cambridgeshire, England, said Chamberlain's lawyer, Gary Lincenberg.
PORTICELLO, Sicily — Divers searching for six missing people from a superyacht which sank off the coast of Sicily told NBC News Wednesday that debris inside the vessel, as well as its depth, were making their job difficult.
As hopes of finding anyone alive dwindled, the divers said that they had managed to force open one of the Bayesian’s access doors but access to the cabins where people could be trapped was being hampered by detritus.
The divers, who were not authorized to speak publicly, added that the depth of the wreck meant they were left with only 10 minutes to search the 184-foot yacht once they reached it. Then they had to return to the surface, they said.
On Wednesday, the dock where they set off from was swarming with vehicles, boats and rescuers. Nearby tourists, reporters and photographers have gathered, eager for news. Helicopters occasionally fly over the area.
British tech tycoon Mike Lynch and five of the 22 other people who were aboard the yacht remain unaccounted for and are believed to be trapped in the Bayesian’s hull, nearly 170 feet underwater.
Lynch's 18-year-old daughter, Hannah; Morgan Stanley International Chairman Jonathan Bloomer and his wife, Judy; and Clifford Chance lawyer Chris Morvillo and his wife, Neda, are also missing.
Officials confirmed Monday that at least one person, the ship’s cook, had died.
Rescuers said Tuesday that there might be people trapped inside the cabins, especially considering the timing of the storm, but that they had so far been unable to check through the ship’s portholes.
“The operations are long and complex,” Italy’s national fire department, whose diving teams have been participating in the search, said on X .
Italy's coast guard also said Tuesday that divers were also using a remotely-operated underwater vehicle to aid in the search.
The Bayesian is owned by a firm linked to Lynch’s wife, Angela Bacares, who was one of the 15 people rescued Monday after it capsized near Sicily’s main city of Palermo in what Italian officials called a “violent storm.”
Built by Italian shipbuilder Perini Navi in 2008, the U.K.-registered Bayesian could carry 12 guests and a crew of up to 10, according to online specialist yacht sites. Its nearly 250-foot mast is the tallest aluminum sailing mast in the world, according to CharterWorld Luxury Yacht Charters.
Lynch, who was regularly described in U.K. media as “Britain’s Bill Gates,” was acquitted by a San Francisco jury of fraud charges stemming from the 2011 sale of his software company Autonomy to Hewlett-Packard for $11 billion.
Prosecutors alleged that Lynch and Autonomy’s vice president for finance, Stephen Chamberlain, had padded the firm’s finances ahead of the sale. Lynch’s lawyers argued that HP was so eager to acquire Autonomy that it failed to adequately check the books .
The Mediterranean sailing vacation was designed to be a celebration for Lynch, who brought Morvillo, one of his U.S. lawyers and Bloomer, who testified in his defense, on the trip.
Bloomer’s twin brother, Jeremy, told the BBC on Tuesday the family was “coping the best we can” and he was hopeful there might still be air pockets inside the hull.
Chamberlain was not aboard the Bayesian.
In what appears to be a tragic coincidence, a car struck and killed Chamberlain on Saturday as he was jogging in a village about 68 miles north of London, local police said.
