Just a gentle reminder, or do you keep your up until next Christmas?

http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/Christmas-decorations/story-28455063-detail/story.html

Just done mine, wish that they went up as they easily as they came down!

Ours were back in the attic yesterday !!

Trying to get back to normality now,,,,,,,,  i,e, countdown to this year's Broads holiday !!!

Like

Ours came down this morning, like you Peter much quicker than they went up

As above. It was very unusual for other half to agree to them coming down before 12th night.

SPEEDTRIPLE

Same here, but they came down on Saturday, and went in the loft on Saturday. All boxed up, batteries removed, and wrapped up so they don`t go mouldy.

Never put any up....

Hylander

Ours came down New Year's day ,   I think once Christmas is over they just don't look right somehow.   As said previously a darn sight quicker to put away than to put up that took us about 3 days.    To me Christmas is all about the anticipation than anything else.

Baitrunner

Sunday the 3rd - down and boxed (apart from the outside lights as i didn't fancy getting soaked - they are turned off though).

Would have been Saturday, but had stuff to do.

It's also easier getting the tree out (chopped up and in a bin bag to take out to the brown bin). Here's a tip for you though for next year - if you buy a real tree (even if it's wrapped in that mesh stuff) put it in an old quilt cover before you put it in the car and bring it in the house - keeps the pesky green bits in one place at least.

Being unwell this Christmas  we only had a tree all be it a very nice real one it came down Sunday.Years ago we went to Canada  in early January. The rep said they tend to keep there decorations up longer (we were there about the eighth  for 10 days).Sure enough when we went to the falls the edges believe  it or not were iced. Now that's what I call winter.

ranworthbreeze

ranworthbreeze

I switched off all of our timers on Sunday night. Tan took down all of the inside decorations, I might be able to take them down outside at the weekend weather permitting and then into the loft.

It looks very bare in the house now. Back at work yesterday was a trial, with emails to delete and contacting any inquiries that came in over Christmas period.

SteveO

Ours came down Sunday and are now boxed up and back in the loft. 3 section artificial remote controlled pre-lit tree makes it very easy.

I've had to try and curtail my drooling Iain. Seems flooded workshops are not acceptable and the thought of a cadburys cream egg is enough to float me!

But I do have my nice new NBN calender hanging over the bench. Its a real treat to see places I love pictured so well.

Plenty more celebrations before then Iain - Working for a global company and having a team across the world I am happy to celebrate ALL national holidays - obviously just to prove my internationalness!! My boss hasn't signed up to this yet though.

So, lets go off topic - anyone else know of a really random and unusual public holiday we should celebrate as international boaters?

My boss hasn't signed up to this yet though. The 18th Jan is Martin Luther King Day and the 21st is Errol Barrow day in Barbados!! Yes a random one that, but my brother lives there and it's a national holiday for them. It's also the only way he remembers my birthday!!!! pm me if you would my bank details to transfer birthday funds - dont worry you wont be able to get anything out of it So, lets go off topic - anyone else know of a really random and unusual public holiday we should celebrate as international boaters?

If only I had a day off for each of those Iain.

4 days apart - we are almost twins!!!!

Mine is the 10th, so let's see what pressies I get on Sunday.

6 minutes ago, Dajen said: Iain my ex is Russian when my Son was younger it was great fun to have 2 Christmas's and even better fun (for the adults) to have 2 New Years.   Dave

The downside being, of course, no mooring spots, people moaning about engines at ungodly hours, the fisher people not moving for boats coming into moor, boats hitting bridges, lord help us at Ludham, absolute chaos everywhere, hang on, that's just a normal August on the Broads isn't it? lol

"I was sure Grace would ask about Moscow"

I do believe Moscow is....... a major political, economic, cultural and scientific centre of Russia and Eastern Europe, is the capital and the largest city of Russia.

12.2 million residents within the city limits and 16.8 million within the urban area.

The best golf clubs in moscow: luxury, exclusivity, and entertainment.

By Walter Raymond

  • The Best Golf Clubs in…

In Russia, the western concept of building architecturally beautiful golf courses filled with modern and luxurious amenities has found fertile ground. What was considered a frivolous pastime during the time of the Soviets has become the latest trend for the stylish set. These days, there are countless options around Moscow to practice golf, polo, ski, yachting, and other sports alongside 5-star hotels, luxurious country houses, and magnificent villas.

The game of golf is a sport that requires passion and expertise. It is also part of a culture that considers this pastime a synonym of social prestige and exclusivity. In recent years, the new Russian elite has turned to golf as a vehicle of integration in the era of globalization. Golf courses are also meeting and socializing spaces where Muscovite tycoons can relax and also seal business deals.

Golf Courses in Russia

The Moscow Country Club, Pestovo Golf & Yacht Club, Tseleevo Golf & Polo Club, and Zavidovo Golf Club, PGA National Russia are some of the most exclusive and elegant golf courses in Russia. Some of them have made it to the list of Top 15 golf clubs in the world, a source of great prestige for the country.

The first 18-hole golf course built in Russia, Moscow Country Club, hosts the exclusive PGA European Tour. Located just eight miles from the city center, this luxurious facility was created by architect Robert Trent Jones Jr . The design takes advantage of a typical Russian birch and spruce forest to provide a natural environment of extraordinary beauty.

The Pestovo Golf & Yacht Club is 18 miles from the heart of Moscow, close to historical monuments from the 17th and 18th centuries. Designed by famed architects Paul and Dave Thomas , this 18-hole course is part of a complex that includes a yacht club, an equestrian center, and a health and wellness facility. Pestovo Golf & Yacht Club is Russia’s version of a classic country club with multiple attractions.

This park is among the best in Eastern Europe and was awarded the 2014 World Golf Award as the best golf course in Russia. Located 25 miles from Moscow, it is part of a vast complex featuring an 18-hole golf course, designed by Jack Nicklaus , a polo club and a mountain ski club with four tracks. The design combines classic Scottish, Alpine, and English features in a dreamy landscape.

Less than 60 miles from Moscow, this golf course with a definite Scottish design is the only one in Russia recognized as a PGA (Professional Golfers’ Association) from Britain and Ireland. Located in an ecologically pristine area on the banks of the Volga River, the Zavidovo Golf Club embodies the spirit and appearance of the legendary Scottish golf courses. Its many springs and streams, hills, forests, swamps and lakes justify its reputation as a very demanding circuit. Last year, it entered the exclusive club of the 15 best golf courses in the world.   ■
