Chuck Grice

  President and Owner, grew up in Maryland, boating on the Chesapeake. His parents inspired his love of the water with his first boat at age five - an 8ft dinghy with a 3.5hp Johnson Sea Horse - and a full run of the 12 mile Magothy River. Chuck graduated from Villanova University with a B.S. in Marketing and started in the boating business in 1981. After being sales manager for a Viking Yacht dealer in Annapolis, MD and a Viking-Hatteras dealer in Hampton, VA he opened Virginia Yacht Brokers in 1989. For over 30 years he has concentrated on the most effective marketing of brokerage boats, representing both buyers and sellers with great success. His outstanding reputation for honesty and integrity in the industry is well-known - ask anyone on the water! Chuck lives in Virginia Beach with his wife Kelsey, and Golden Retriever, Emma Divine. Their daughter McKenzie attends PA school in North Carolina, and son Parker also works for Virginia Yacht Broker, which he joined in 2015. Kelsey Grice

  Kelsey was born in Tokyo, went to elementary school in Djakarta, high school in Madrid, college in Virginia and traveled throughout the world in between. Her undergraduate degree is from Sweet Briar College, and attended graduate business school at the University of Pennsylvania. She has a strong marketing background developed from experience in the United States Senate and AT&T, and a love of art & design. Parker Griffo

  Parker grew up down the road in Virginia Beach, boating on the Chesapeake. His first boat, at age 9, was a 13' Boston Whaler with a 40hp Yamaha, boating out of Norfolk Yacht Club on the Elizabeth River. Parker graduated from High Point University in 2012 with a B.S. in Marketing, as well as  the Chapman's School of Seamanship for Small Craft and Yacht Surveying in 2019. He is ABYC Standards certified, and a previous board member of the Virginia Marine Trades Association. Atlantic Yacht Basin does not take advanced reservations and is a first come first serve marina for transients. The family owned business for three generations has been attracting discerning captains and yacht owners from all over the world since 1936. The boatyard is one of the finest facilities on the waterway and a perfect home for your boat. AYB has a well established reputation for quality work including carpentry, electrical, engine and generator repair, spar storage, paint & refinishing, rigging & hauling, plumbing, bottom cleaning, and transport preparation. We also install bow thruster and stabilizer systems and perform power conversions. Our skilled team of craftsmen welcome custom orders and special projects.

2018 Rates:Daily dockage: $1.50 per foot per day

This marina does not require a credit card to hold the slip or any type of deposit. As a courtesy please notify the marina if you need to cancel your reservation at least 24 hours in advance.

The Atlantic 43 is a custom built fast ''blue water cruiser'' built by one of the better aluminum yards in Holland, famous for quality and craftsmanship. This Dick Zaal design excels in performance and sea keeping characteristics. Her shallow draft centerboard gives limitless cruising possibilities and the fixed doghouse makes for comfortable cruising. The custom built interior provides headroom, comfort and storage space. This beautiful Atlantic 43 is lying in Hindeloopen and can be visit 7 days a week.

Flag blue Airex cored fiberglass hull, gray decks and white  deck-houses; long skeg keel with fully supported rudder. She is a raised pilot-house design. The pilot-house has ‘Dutch’ access doors port and starboard; heavy rub-rails; asymmetric cabin arrangement with fore-and aft covered side deck on the port side. The deep cockpit is partially covered by the boat deck.  Welded stainless steel rails forward of the pilot house. The fore deck has a substantial (carbon fiber sheathing over wood) mast with lifting boom and riding sail; Wesmar 10 HP, 24 volt, electric bow thruster (1999); Naiad active fin stabilizers (1996 w/ updates); hydraulic steering; emergency tiller; 10 bronze ports (2007).

She has 6’6” headroom and 5 berths.

The pilothouse has an amidships helm, settee and anthwartships watch berth. Three steps down and aft is the main salon with a horseshoe seating arrangement and drop-leaf table. The galley is forward to starboard.  The master stateroom is amidships to port with a head opposite to starboard. A large open stateroom with bunks port and starboard is forward with another head in the forepeak. These berths can convert to settees for day use. There is a stand-up portion of the engine room with a work-bench; and there is a small deep cockpit aft of the salon.

The fully equipped galley has a Force 10 - 3 burner LPG stove with oven (2010); microwave oven; Isotherm 12/110 volt refrigerator and freezer. There is a separate Norcold freezer in the forward stateroom.

The yacht has hot and cold pressure water to the two heads and the galley. She has one electric and one manual marine toilet. Each head has a sink and vanity; one has a shower.

The yacht has a Herreshoff style interior with painted bulkheads teak and mahogany trim, teak and holly sole; vinyl headliner; beige fabric upholstery in the main salon. She has 3 Cruisaire air-conditioning units (16,000 BTW each) plus a bus-type heater which runs off of the engine. 

 2 black-Iron fuel tanks with a total capacity of 500 gallons. There are sighting glasses for each tank. There is a 200 gallon water capacity in fiberglass tanks; and 100 gallon holding tank capacity in a fiberglass tank. The water and holding tanks have a Groco tank monitoring system. The holding tank may be evacuated dock-side or over board. There are 2 – 10 lb. LPG tanks.
