Entirely recreated in 2020 by Dutch masters Royal Huisman, her Feadship pedigree shines on. Enveloped in smart navy and white livery, she offers a private ocean playground for laughter and serenity. Broadwater is the ultimate ocean vacation. Languish in her Beach Club and watch the waves sparkle, jump out and delight in the latest watercraft, take in spectacular sunsets from the upper deck, or discover pristine underwater landscapes in hidden coves. Advertised by DMA Yachting, the majestic charter yacht BROADWATER is a 182 ft motor yacht featuring a hot tub. BROADWATER spends the winter season in the Bahamas. She was delivered by the ship builder Feadship in 2020. An elegant refit was finalized in 1994. The expansive yacht layout features 6 cozy cabins and comfortably accommodates a maximum of 12 guests.

BROADWATER is classified as a superyacht. The key part of the yacht, the aft deck, elegantly connects to the well-equipped and inviting main saloon. The main saloon is a gathering space to spend time when the weather is not ideal and boasts a number of entertainment options. 6 comfortable cabins are laid out to allow for comfortable access and private setting.

Jacob's professionalism always provides guests with an exceptional and safe experience. Captain (rotational)| Stuart Honeywill | Bournemouth, UK Stuart has been with the BROADWATER team since 2020. He started onboard as an exceptionally qualified First Officer and Relief Captain. Stuart has a vast array of expertise and yachting experience to share with his guests onboard. He enjoys being at sea, navigating to new places, and offers first-hand knowledge on a multitude of charter destinations around the world. First Officer | James Harris | Hampshire, UK James started out as a sailing instructor in the UK. His love for being on the water brought him to yachting where he has built a career working on exceptional yachts.   He is an advanced PADI diver, working toward his dive Master. James is always exploring new places and looking around the corner for the next special spot to impress guests. Chief Stewardess (rotational) | Chantal De Bruin | South Africa Chantal started her life in the corporate industry straight out of school before finally succumbing to her love of the sea. She has a natural wanderlust and after traveling all over the world for the pleasure she finally settled into the yachting industry. When she is not giving the best service possible, Chantal loves to travel, explore new places and enjoy her time outdoors. Chief Stewardess (rotational) | Clare Draper | Chichester, UK Clare comes from a background in Sailing. Her love for adventure, being creative and organized naturally lead her into the yachting industry. Her outgoing bubbly personality and passion for travel keep her enthusiasm for work in full bloom. Clare is committed to exceeding guest expectations with her interior team by her side. Second Stewardess | Andrea Bio | Baja California, Mexico Andrea’s hunger for adventure made her switch up her sedentary job for the yachting industry. She enjoys the excitement of traveling and meeting new people. Her amazing eye for detail ensures housekeeping and the guest's experience is always up to the ultimate standard. Stewardess | Ana Tesic | Croatia Ana’s always been passionate about working at sea. She has a degree in physiotherapy which is how she got her foot in the industry onboard cruise ships and she quickly transitioned into yachts. She is a very active and attentive character which makes guests feel taken care of while they enjoy their time onboard. Stewardess | Tagan Cole | United Kingdom Tagan grew up on the water whilst boating in the Isles of Scillies, she enjoys traveling and the chase for an adventure which led her to yachting. She has a lovely and joyful personality that makes guests feel welcomed and at home. When Tagan is not on board, she enjoys pursuing her passion for photography. Bosun | Jean Niemann | South Africa Jean lives in a beach house in a coastal town in South Africa. If he is not busy with yachting, He’s always surfing and looking for new spots along with scuba diving, wakeboarding, and camp trips. This is his 6th year in yachting and he is close to completing his officer ticket. Jean is always up for an unexpected adventure and a laugh and he enjoys taking guests out for watersports and sunset cruises. He is also the resident karaoke king! Lead Deckhand | Elani Botes | South Africa Elani worked as a Sports Psychologist before starting her yachting career. She has completed her OOW and is now working towards her Master's license. Deckhand | Will Clifford | United Kingdom Will joined yachting after studying English Literature in London. Chief Engineer | Will Smith | Southmead, UK Will worked on cruise ships for several years until he transitioned into yachting. He loves the variety of work, constant learning and being able to travel to extraordinary places. Will has been with the Broadwater program for three years now and is currently working towards his class 1 unlimited engineering license. Second Engineer | Sandro Rodriguez Perez | Spessart, Germany German Sandro comes from a Navy background where he worked as Cadet and graduated as a ship mechanic in 2017. Feadship Yachts BROADWATER For Sale

Built by pedigree shipbuilder, Feadship Yachts, BROADWATER is the epitome of luxury yachting with her clean lines, comfortable cruising, and expansive layout. The extensive refit of this Feadship Yachts build took place at the Huisfit premises of Dutch Yacht Masters Royal Huisman in Amsterdam and included a 13’ (4m) stern extension which involved a new swim platform, beach club facilities, effortless access to the water, and easy tender operations. Additionally, the sundeck has been completely rebuilt, featuring a new composite mast with a sun awning.

The interior of this Dutch Yacht has been completely re-styled in the refit along with modifications to the owner’s / guest + crew areas. The interior consists of deliciously tactile cashmere, silks, wools, leathers, and linens in closely curated palettes which all impart an ethos of quiet serenity and discerning finish. Additionally, board systems required for a classification change have turned this luxury yacht from one for “private use” to “commercial use.” Finally, BROADWATER received new teak and furniture on the main and bridge decks along with a freshly painted superstructure and hull. Feadship Yachts built this luxury yacht with a striking design, and classic lines that make this yacht a true masterpiece. The exterior contrast of navy and white exudes both luxury and class from every angle.

Accommodations include 6 staterooms sleeping 12 guests with 7 cabins for 14 crew including a Captain’s quarters. The owner’s suite boasts an all-new design with double ensuites, connected by a glass shower. Her exterior has a completely revised deck space with a large spa pool, bar area, and day head. Superyacht Owner Matt Voorhees Shares Details of Broadwater Refit

Serial superyacht owner Matt Voorhees discusses his love of refitting classic Feadships in the latest edition of our lockdown series, At Home with BOAT.

Voorhees' 56 metre Feadship Broadwater is currently undergoing a major refit at Royal Huisman and will be "on the water starting to cruise" by "late July to mid August" of this year.

As well as refitting the interior, Voorhees has added a stern extension to the yacht to incorporate a beach club, he told editor-in-chief Stewart Campbell in episode 15 of the interview series.

"What was needed most clearly for me was a stern extension that modernised and opened that very lovely boat to the sea […] So we have extended the boat," he said, adding that the new feature will also help attract charter clients.

Although the refit meant that Voorhees was not able to isolate on board as he would have liked, the Broadwater owner reasoned that "in some ways the boat will be more prepared for me and for our [charter] customers ", as the lockdown period has provided the Royal Huisman shipyard with extra time to work on the yacht.

As Broadwater is Voorhees’ third Feadship in 10 years, the superyacht owner also explained why he loves the brand, and what exactly makes these yachts "a very special breed of boat".

Finally, Voorhees discusses how he balances personal use with the charter season on board  Broadwater , as well as advice for owners undertaking their first refit – namely suggesting that a "pedigree yard" is the best place to have such work done.

Following her recent sale, it has been confirmed that BROADWATER will re-enter the charter market as the 50m/163ft motor yacht BLU 470 .

Delivered from Feadship in 1990 and regularly updated before undergoing a significant refit in 2014, BLU 470 is certainly a motor yacht committed to the best of luxury living. Indeed, from her contemporary interior to her generously proportioned exterior not a single amenity has been overlooked.

Family top of mind for yachties rescued in wicked seas

Debilitating sea sickness and being subject of a daring rescue in "quite horrendous" seas won't stop one yachtswoman returning to the water almost immediately.

Lisa, 48, and Brett, 60, returned to dry land on Tuesday night more than 24 hours after mechanical failures left them at the mercy of the sea 160km off the NSW south coast.

Police and navy vessels battled gale-force winds and six-metre waves to reach the stricken Spirit of Mateship, which had by that stage drifted another 140km offshore.

After thanking her rescuers, Lisa said she was looking forward to reuniting with her family including her two children on Wednesday.

But the situation hadn't turned her away from the water, even for a week.

"I'm going back out Thursday," she told reporters.

"Not so far out - might just go to Broadwater on the Gold Coast for a little bit."

Brett, who was greeted on dry land by his son and said he hoped to speak to his parents soon, declined to detail exactly what went wrong on the 19-metre yacht to prompt Monday's distress call.

But he said the occupants were tired, seasick and felt they could not continue any further.

"Waiting was all right, the boat is more than seaworthy," he said.

Lisa added: "There were just two of us on there, it was too much to keep going and it could have got worse."

The distress beacon alert was received about midday on Monday but "quite horrendous" conditions forced the boat many kilometres east, plaguing rescue efforts.

"That's how strong the winds were and how fast it was pushing the vessel away," police search and rescue co-ordinator Sergeant Ryan Spong told reporters.

Dramatic footage of the rescue showed a small police recovery vessel next to the yacht as the two boats rose and fell in heaving seas.

The navy's second largest ship, HMAS Canberra, and HMAS Arunta assisted by sheltering the smaller police boats from the high seas.

After landing aboard the police vessel, the yachties each enjoyed a good coffee and a meat pie before crashing into a deep sleep.

Brett, believed to have been living on the boat since January, and his companion set sail from Jervis Bay in recent days.

The yacht, which has entered a number of Sydney to Hobart races, crewed by wounded and injured former defence force personnel to raise money for charity Mates4Mates, has been abandoned.

Authorities said the case highlighted the importance of carrying emergency position indicating radio beacons, or EPIRBs.

"Without the activation of the EPIRB ... it's unlikely we would have been aware of the distress situation," the Australian Maritime Safety Authority's Ben Flight said.

Brett underlined that message.

"Have an EPIRB, it was brilliant," he said.

"Otherwise, who knows where we'd be."

“Cardio drumming” is all the rage — you place an exercise ball in a bucket and whack it with drumsticks to the beat of a song to burn calories, relieve stress , strengthen bones and foster community.

It’s a hit on TikTok, where one recent clip of a group of women cardio drumming to “7 Rings” by Ariana Grande smashed 19.3 million views and garnered nearly 30,000 comments. Some TikTok users seemed stunned that this was a workout.

“This class isn’t just about fitness,” Dr. Tommy Martin, a Boston-based physician who specializes in internal medicine and pediatrics, said in response to that viral video . “You can tell that they have created an incredible community, where all of these women are having an incredible time moving together. And I am sure that this is going to lead to better self-esteem, more motivation and probably impact multiple other areas in their life.”

Writer Ashley Broadwater was surprised at how much anger and frustration she released while cardio drumming to One Direction and Ed Sheeran at a class in Durham, North Carolina.

“When the instructor says ‘two…four…two…two…four’ (for the amount of times to hit the ball in that spot) or ‘front, side, back, side, back, front, top, side’ quickly and in seemingly random order, you really have to concentrate and pay attention,” Broadwater penned Monday for Well+Good .

“Plus, let’s be honest, it’s fun to drum and swing your arms, and having fun is an important part of well-being, too,” she added.

Broadwater reports that the regimen dates back to 2001 when creator Carrie Ekins suffered a hip injury.

Ekins said her doctor reminded her that , “‘You’ve got two hands and two arms — make something out of it.'” She began drumming on cardboard boxes, tables and then exercise balls, which lifted her mood, increased her heart rate and formed the basis of her “Drums Alive” program.

The full-body workout draws participants for different reasons.

They’re drumming to Bob Seger’s “Old Time Rock and Roll” and Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies” at the Foundry Christian Community Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky, where enthusiasts range in age from 3 to 83.

“Physical activity like cardio drumming helps people naturally improve their blood pressure, manage weight and strengthen their heart,” Shawna Wood, chief operating officer and interim director of the Foundry, told the Bowling Green Daily News earlier this year.

Broadwater noted that cardio drumming is not just stick action — you can incorporate light squats or hip movement and walk around the ball as you hit it.

And if you’re not ready to attend a class, videotaped routines and cardio drumming kits are available for at-home rock stars.

“Am I Ringo Starr? No. Am I dripping in sweat? No,” Broadwater reflected for Well+Good. “But maybe that’s a good thing. Sometimes, exercise just needs to be  gentle movement , and movement-centered hobbies just need to be fun.”
