Tommy Hilfiger ‘s Spring 2025 collection was unveiled on the iconic MV John F. Kennedy, the vessel once known as the Staten Island Ferry, which anchored the event with a strong nautical theme that’s been a signature of the brand since its inception in 1985. This season, Hilfiger revisited these maritime inspirations, refreshing them with a modern twist that blends the classic with the contemporary.

The show’s setting—a nod to New York City’s maritime history—complemented the collection’s updated aesthetic. Breton and Ithaca stripes, hallmarks of sailing apparel, adorned shirts and tops, while archival regatta jackets and utility pants were reimagined in lightweight sail-cloth nylons and crinkled cottons, emphasizing fluidity and movement.

Women’s wear featured a selection of Capri pants in solid colors and checks, paired with oversized fisherman knits, offering a relaxed yet sophisticated summer look. The men’s collection included varsity jackets that fused linen with leather and chinos featuring yacht-inspired turn-ups. Double-pleated shorts and deconstructed trench coats spoke to the collection’s casual yet refined ethos.

Accessories were integral to the ensemble, with neck-tie bandanas, hand-woven coastal slippers, and baseball caps adorned with a chunky rope TH Monogram, crafting what Hilfiger describes as the “New American Prep” wardrobe—a fusion of Ivy League elegance and coastal practicality.

Front-row celebrities included K-pop icons Felix and Lee Know of Stray Kids, actress Jisoo, and actor Damson Idris, highlighting the show’s high-profile appeal. The runway also saw Abby Champion, celebrated for her work in Hilfiger’s Fall ’24 campaign, with support from her fiancé, Patrick Schwarzenegger.

The evening concluded with a dynamic performance from Staten Island’s own Wu-Tang Clan, featuring Ghostface Killah, Method Man, and Raekwon, underscoring the brand’s deep ties with the music industry. Questlove curated the event’s soundtrack, adding to the ambiance.

Tommy Hilfiger’s choice of NYC landmarks as show venues continued to draw attention, with this season’s guests experiencing the unique setting of Pier 17, South Street Seaport. The event not only bid farewell to the ferry’s past but also celebrated its future transformation into a comedy club, a project spearheaded by comedians Pete Davidson and Colin Jost.

As Tommy Hilfiger evolves, the brand remains deeply rooted in themes that resonate with a broad audience, from traditional nautical aesthetics to contemporary urban style, making its collections a timeless yet timely statement in the world of fashion.

Tommy hilfiger presents nautical with a twist at new york fashion week.

AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS (SEPTEMBER 2024) – Tommy Hilfiger, which is part of PVH Corp. [NYSE: PVH], was all aboard at New York Fashion Week, presenting the Spring ‘25 collection on Sunday, September 8 th . Set on the decommissioned MV John F. Kennedy, previously the Staten Island Ferry, the show celebrated Tommy’s love for nautical lifestyle, energized with bold maritime codes in the brand’s signature red, white, and blue. 

“We're revisiting the nautical and maritime inspirations that have defined our signature look since 1985,” said Tommy Hilfiger. “Today, it’s updated and remixed for 2025: the look has the ease of effortless summer style, but with a confidence that feels ready to step off the ferry and back into the city.”

The collection features Breton and Ithaca shirting stripes inspired by sailing heritage. Archival regatta jackets and utility pants are designed to be light and fluid, crafted from sail-cloth nylons and crinkled cottons. Women’s capri pants are cut in an array of solids and checks and paired back to oversized fisherman knits. Classic prep is refreshed with varsity jackets in an interplay of linen and leather, chinos with deck-inspired turn-ups, and double-pleated yacht shorts. Inspired by the comfort of the captain’s quarters, soft tailoring lends a sartorial feel to sporty club blazers, hand-knitted polos, and deconstructed trench coats. The look is completed with neck-tie bandanas, hand-woven coastal slippers, and a new chunky rope  TH Monogram  on raffia baseball caps. It’s the New American Prep wardrobe, fusing vibrant Ivy League style with everyday coastal functionality.  

Stray Kids’ Felix and Lee Know, Jisoo and Damson Idris were seated in the front row, while Abby Champion, the face of the Fall '24 Campaign, graced the runway with cheers from her fiancé, Patrick Schwarzenegger. The show's finale was electrified by Staten Island's own Wu-Tang Clan members Ghostface Killah, Method Man, and Raekwon, with Questlove returning to curate the soundtrack. Special guests included musical talents like Tinashe, Quavo, Doechii, Ayra Starr, and the Japanese rock band Mrs. Green Apple, alongside global cultural icons such as Canadian actor Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and T-Wave stars Pond, Phuwin, Fourth, and Gemini.

After last February's show at Grand Central’s Oyster Bar, Mr. Tommy Hilfiger continues to revive NYC landmarks as show venues. This season, cultural shapers boarded the decommissioned vessel at Pier 17, South Street Seaport, and enjoyed an evening of Hilfiger hospitality with stunning views of the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges. With its original interiors still intact, the show marked a farewell to the vessel’s past role while celebrating its upcoming transformation into a comedy club, under the new ownership of Pete Davidson and Colin Jost.
