Yacht Club Highlights:

  • Great location! The Yacht Club is walking distance to Epcot and Hollywood Studios (which is also easily accessible by boat or Skyliner.)
  • Stormalong Bay! This gorgeous water complex includes a sand bottom pool, pirate slide, and lazy river.
  • A diner’s paradise! In addition to two theme parks, the Yacht Club is also walking distance to the Beach Club, Boardwalk Inn, and Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin. Being so close to four additional deluxe resorts provides extensive dining and entertainment options.

What is the Yacht Club like?

The Yacht Club (YC) is a five-story, 630 room resort, slightly larger than its sister resort, the Beach Club (BC), located along the shore of Crescent Lake, opposite the Boardwalk Resort . Themed after seaside New England hotels of the late 1800s, the Yacht Club has a stately, nautical look and feel; hardwood floors and brass accents enhance this feeling. Guests staying at both the Yacht Club and Beach Club have the exclusive use of Stormalong Bay, a 750,000 gallon pool/mini-water park complete with water slide, sandy bottom, whirlpools, and water currents.

Why stay at the Yacht Club?

Three very important reasons: Location, Location, Location. The Yacht Club is one of the most conveniently located resorts on Disney’s property. The Yacht Club is within walking distance of Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Boardwalk, the Swan, and the Dolphin hotels. If you don’t feel like walking you can choose a short boat ride to any of these places instead.

yacht club laundry

If you like fine dining, you will be in the center of it all. Not only do the Yacht Club, Beach Club, and Boardwalk all have terrific choices, you are also just minutes away from the international flavor of Epcot’s World Showcase. If you like to swim, one of the best hotel pools, Stormalong Bay, is right under your nose. There are several other recreational activities available at the Yacht Club (described below).

Transportation – How do I get there from here?

  • EPCOT – EPCOT can be easily reached by foot via a short 10-minute walk along the water way leading to Epcot’s International Gateway. If walking isn’t for you, there is a boat to ferry guests from all the Epcot resorts (Swan, Dolphin, Boardwalk, Yacht Club, and Beach Club) to the International Gateway, but the walk is faster and a bit more scenic. To board the boat, simply exit the lobby on the rear side of the hotel and walk straight down to the dock – just look for the lighthouse. Be sure you’re in the Epcot line (left side facing the water), not Disney’s Hollywood Studios line (right side facing the water) line.Epcot resort guests CAN use the International Gateway entrance to Epcot even though World Showcase may not yet be open for the day. Cast members will help usher you toward Future World in Epcot. The International Gateway also offers full-service ticketing and purchasing of annual passes. The guest services window usually opens 30 minutes prior to park opening.

yacht club laundry

  • You can take a leisurely 15 to 20 minute one-mile stroll along the path that follows the waterway connecting the Epcot resort area with the Hollywood Studios.
  • Take the Friendship boat f rom the right side of the boat dock. You can meet the boat at the dock just as you would the boat for Epcot, by exiting the rear of the hotel and walking straight down to the lighthouse. Again, make sure you catch the right boat. The CMs will surely let you know which boat you’re getting on. The boat usually stops by the Swan and Dolphin and Boardwalk via the Studios. The trip takes about 20 minutes.
  • Take the Disney Skyliner. Walk to International Gateway and climb aboard the most Magical Flight on Earth! You will need to transfer to the Disney’s Hollywood Studios at the Caribbean Beach Station.

yacht club laundry

  • Magic Kingdom – The Magic Kingdom can be reached by taking a bus from the front of the hotel. Another longer, but more scenic, journey is to take the monorail from Epcot’s front entrance, transfer at the TTC, and then continue to the MK. Traveling this way does take some time and some walking, but you get to see a little bit more, and it lends to resort hopping if the mood strikes. Keep in mind this route will likely taste at least an hour.
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom – Disney’s Animal Kingdom can be reached by taking a bus from the front of the hotel.

yacht club laundry

  • Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach, and Disney Springs – Buses take you directly from the hotel to these locations after picking up passengers from the Beach Club and Boardwalk Inn. Travel times vary to each of these locations, but many of these attractions are relatively close to the Yacht Club, so you never have to wait too long.

Note that when using the buses, they will usually stop at the Beach Club; however sometimes it will also stop at the Boardwalk, the Swan and the Dolphin resorts. The tends to happen during the middle of the day or during low crowd times.

  • Disney’s Boardwalk – The Boardwalk faces the Yacht and Beach Clubs on the opposite side of Crescent Lake. There are two foot bridges, one in the direction of the Swan/Dolphin hotels, and one in the direction of Epcot, allowing you to walk to this entertainment complex and hotel.
  • For all other locations, including Fort Wilderness , and resort hotels, buses to Disney Springs will allow you to connect with other transportation to your final destination. You can also take the monorail from the Future World side of Epcot to reach the TTC. Travel times vary widely here. You can time it just right and have a short, efficient trip, or have a trip lasting over  an hour. Hope for the best! Hint: When in a hurry, it usually takes only 5 minutes to get a taxi. Go to the valet station at the front of the Yacht Club and they will call a taxi for you. Trips to destinations on property range in cost from $16 to $24. For example, the typical taxi fare from the Yacht Club to the Grand Floridian costs about $20 (not including tip). It’s usually significantly cheaper to take a Rideshare such as an Uber or Lyft from the front of the Yacht Club to anywhere on property.

What are the rooms like?

Most rooms feature two queen-size beds, a table and chairs, color TV w/remote, a ceiling fan, double sinks in the dressing area, and refrigerator. Some rooms have a daybed that will accommodate the maximum 5 guests allowed per room at the Yacht Club. There are also pet friendly rooms. Of the 539 regular guest rooms at the Yacht Club, 483 rooms have queen-sized beds, 56 rooms have king-sized beds, and there are 10 disabled access rooms. Most rooms have a balcony that have a table and two chairs. Standard Rooms are for all guests, including Concierge Club. Deluxe rooms are larger and are only available on the Concierge level.

yacht club laundry

The rooms at the Yacht Club have been thoughtfully stocked with many extras. Rooms have a small safe, located in the closet, in which you can store your valuables such as jewelry, airline tickets, passports, travelers’ checks, etc. For bigger items, storage facilities may be available at the front desk.

Another nice feature is having the bathtub/toilet separated from the rest of the room. The double sinks are located outside the true “bathroom.” In the vanity area, you will find a hair dryer, as well as a make-up mirror mounted on the wall.

yacht club laundry

The Yacht Club does have a Club Level and club-level/service rooms. All Club Level rooms are located on the hotel’s 5th floor, which requires your Magic Band to gain entry from the elevator. There are 71 concierge suites and 20 “true” suites in a variety of sizes. See the Concierge page for more information about the concierge level.

Walt Disney World Resort has complimentary Wi-Fi service available in all of its hotels and parks. See our Internet Access page for details.

A room with a view, but which one?

There are three views available: The Standard view, the Garden or Woods view, and the Lagoon or pool view.

Standard view rooms overlook the garden, rooftop or parking areas around the hotel. Garden or Woods view rooms typically overlook the slightly nicer areas around the quiet pool, or even the wedding gazebo. Lagoon or pool view rooms have a direct view of Crescent Lake and the Boardwalk. Some of the Lagoon or Pool view rooms are located just above Stormalong Bay and may be a bit noisy during the day. Note also that not all Lagoon or Pool view rooms offer a direct view of the lake and the Boardwalk. Many are at right angles to the lake, making it often difficult or impossible to see the Boardwalk. If you should book a Lagoon or Pool view room, don’t be disappointed if you don’t have a direct view of the lake.

Can I Bring My Pet to Stay at the Yacht Club?

Walt Disney World has four hotels pet-friendly, one of which is Disney’s Yacht Club. Read our page on Pet-Friendly Hotel Rooms for more details.

Pets may also be boarded at the Best Friends Pet Care kennel across from Port Orleans Riverside.

Are there smoking and nonsmoking rooms?

All Disney resorts and guest rooms are smoke free . There are designated outdoor smoking areas. Check the resort map or with a Cast Member for locations.

yacht club laundry

What are the prices for a room?

The Yacht Club is considered a “Deluxe” resort hotel, and its prices are among the more expensive offered at Disney. These are regular rate prices and do not include the Florida Sales Tax nor the county resort tax. Most rooms have a maximum five-person occupancy per room. Prices are per room, and there is an additional adult charge of $25 per adult per night for more than two adults in a room.

Walt Disney World Resort rates vary by season (there are nine seasons now), and also by day of the week. The holiday season is the most expensive time of the year. It runs from mid-December to early January as well as during Easter Week.

The rates for a: — Standard View Room range from $443 – $762 — Garden or Woods View Room range from $484 – $787                                     — Lagoon or Pool View Room range from $561 – $851 — Club Level Standard View Room range from $661 – $1,052 — Club Level Garden View Room range from $676 – $1,075 — Club Level Pool or Lagoon View room range from $771 – $1,197 — Suites range from $1,863 – $3,071

Is there a fee to park at the Yacht Club?

There is a fee for overnight self-parking at Walt Disney World Resort hotels. Click HERE for current pricing and other parking-related information.

Are there any discounts?

There are many ways to save a few dollars on your accommodations at WDW. Disney offers several resort “seasons” throughout the year including a Value Season. Annual Passholders can save by visiting during annual Passholder specials. Florida residents get a break for living in the same state as the Mouse. Don’t forget holidays are the most expensive time to visit, along with most of the summer. Generally, planning your trip during the off-season can save you money right off the bat.

Please visit our Discount Summary Page for more information.

I hear that there are no more room key cards at Disney resort hotels. How do I get into my room?

Walt Disney World has converted their room keys and admission tickets from plastic cards to MagicBands, flexible plastic wristbands, resembling a watch or bracelet, that use Radio Frequency (RF) technology. Your MagicBand is linked to your My Disney Experience (MDE) account and acts as your Disney resort room key. Simply touch the Mickey symbol on your MagicBand to the RFID reader near your room door to gain entry. Read about using MagicBands for park admission, FastPass+ and more.

Additionally, room service is available 24 hours a day.

What are Rapid Fill Mugs?

The Rapid Fill beverage program allows Disney Resort guests to buy (or receive as part of the Disney Dining Plan) a resort mug that can be refilled for a certain period of time as designated at time of purchase. These mugs are enhanced by an RFID bar code that enables the mug to deactivate when the designated time is complete.

I want to swim!

The Yacht Club has one of the best, if not the best swimming pools (at a hotel) in all of Walt Disney World. Stormalong Bay is a three-acre water playground shared between the Yacht Club and the Beach Club. It’s a great place to have fun or just relax. Stormalong Bay has many different sections that encompass its 750,000 gallons of water. There are shallow wading areas for the younger ones, complete with sand bottoms. There are also larger and deeper areas, some with sand, some without.

yacht club laundry

A “shipwreck” on the shore of Crescent Lake provides the entrance to an exciting water slide for the adventurous folks. There is a circular area in Stormalong Bay with water jets that create a current. All you have to do is float. the water will move you along! All around Stormalong Bay are lounge chairs where you can relax and catch some rays. Among other things, you’ll find a waterfall and a couple of hot tubs hidden amongst the scenery. Note, however, that life jackets cannot be worn when using the water slide. The water slide includes an enclosed tube and a child with a life jacket can get stuck. If your child requires the use of a life jacket, you can request to use the pool and slide at the Boardwalk Inn.

yacht club laundry

There is a quiet pool at the Yacht Club, found on the far end of the hotel away from the noise and excitement. The pool is located on the front/side of the hotel farthest from the Beach Club and closest to the Swan/Dolphin. There is also a hot tub in the same area as the quiet pool. These facilities are open 24 hours, as long as you are quiet! You can also use the quiet pool/hot tub on the Beach Club side of things. This pool is located on the back side of the Beach Club, closest to Epcot. You may see this area if you walk the path to Epcot. There is a third pool (and hot tub) located at the Beach Club Villas; guests of the Yacht Club are welcome to use it as well.

What other recreation is available at the Yacht Club?

Be sure to request the Recreational Activities flyer . There may be activities like Water Volleyball, Campfire Sing-along, or Movie Under the Stars.

yacht club laundry

If swimming isn’t for you, there are plenty of other activities available at the Yacht Club. Tennis is available on a lit court located by the Admiral Pool. I need to shop! OR — I forgot to pack something real important!

The Yacht Club’s all-purpose store is The Market at Ale and Compass.   This store offers a small but comprehensive collection of clothing, character merchandise, and sundries.

Need your clothes cleaned?

If you need to wash your clothes during your stay at the Yacht Club, laundry facilities are located adjacent to the quiet pool area located on the far front side of the hotel, closer to the Swan/Dolphin hotels. Likewise there are laundry facilities at the quiet pool of the Beach Club.

If you need something dry cleaned or pressed, you’ll find a card detailing services and costs in your room upon check-in. An iron and ironing board are located in most guest rooms. If your room does not have these items, they can be obtained free of charge by contacting housekeeping.

Babysitting, Childcare, Children’s Programs

There is no child care activity center at this resort. For child care alternatives, visit our Child Care FAQ.

Does the Yacht Club have a Convention Center?

Yes, the Yacht and Beach Clubs share a convention center that has 73,000 square feet of meeting and function space, that can accommodate both large and small events.

How do I use valet parking?

Simply drive your vehicle to the front of the resort and a Cast Member will park it for you. Valet parking is $33 per car for the day, even if you are staying at the Yacht Club. Don’t forget to tip the valet (both the one who takes your car and the one who brings it back to you – $1-2 is recommended) When you need to retrieve your vehicle, simply give the valet your slip of paper you were given when the car was parked, and your car will be delivered to the front of the hotel. When you are ready to get your car, call the valet stand from your room and ask for your car to be brought around. If you pay for valet at one Disney resort hotel, you can use valet at the other hotels – just tell them you are paying at the Yacht Club. The Disney resorts contract out valet services, so you are dealing with a 3rd party, not Disney employed cast members.

Does the Yacht Club have a Security Gate?

Yes, the Yacht Club complex has a guarded security gate. Upon initial arrival, simply explain to the guard you are checking in. Once you have checked in, your Magic Band will also serve to open the security gates (pull on the right side to activate the guest gate). Be sure to have your Magic Band ready when reentering through the security gate. During busy times ONLY Yacht Club resort guests may be allowed to enter the parking area.

Tips and Tricks: What else you should know about the Yacht Club:

Need a new ‘do, or just a haircut? Ship Shape Spa and Salon is located between the YC and BC, next to the health club, is the place to go. It is open 9 a.m.-7 p.m., daily. Services offered include: hair and nail services, massages and facials. Appointments are strongly recommended, call (407) WDW-SPAS or (407) 939-7727 to book.

Are you a couple on a romantic getaway? Ask for a room overlooking the wedding gazebo (a garden view room). If you’re lucky, from your balcony you’ll be able to hear and see a magical Disney wedding take place. Quite a romantic/reminiscent experience.

Plunk a few quarters in the slots at Lafferty Place Arcade where you’ll find a selection of exciting video games.

Parking – – there is a lot where you park your car. It’s a long walk from your room to the car, unless you want to pay for valet parking.

Doing Laundry at Walt Disney World: FAQ

You’re at Walt Disney World on vacation! It’s time to get away from chores like laundry, right? Well, maybe not.

yacht club laundry

I’m not a fan of doing laundry on vacation, but I’ve done it more than a few times. There are plenty of reasons that people want to do a load (or two or three) of wash while they’re visiting the mouse. Here are a few:

  • You’ve spilled something on a key piece of your travel attire.
  • You have an ill child who soiled some of their clothing
  • You want to avoid luggage fees and are trying to get by with only carry-on-size bags with minimal clothing
  • You’re making a lengthy visit to Walt Disney World and it’s not practical to bring enough outfits for your entire stay
  • You’re on a long vacation with many stops and are sure you won’t have access to laundry later in the trip
  • You have limited time when you get home and want to take post-vacation laundry off your to-do list
  • The weather at WDW was not as predicted, forcing you to re-wear your most climate-appropriate outfit
  • The weather at WDW was as predicted, but you weren’t prepared for how much you would sweat during that weather, so that you can’t re-wear your clothing
  • You want to dry swimsuits before packing them to go home

Okay, now that I know why I might need to do laundry at WDW, tell me what the easiest way to do this is.

The easiest way to conquer laundry at Disney World is to do it using the washer and dryer in your room, IF YOU HAVE ONE.

Whaaaat? There’s a clothes washer in my room?

The standard hotel rooms at Walt Disney World function like standard hotel rooms. However, there are THOUSANDS of rooms at the Walt Disney World hotels that Disney classifies at “villas.” The one-, two-, and three-bedroom villa-style rooms at Walt Disney World include a full-sized washer and dryer in the room.

Where are the villa rooms with washer/dryers?

These rooms are in the Disney Vacation Club resorts. They are most often used by Disney Vacation Club members, but anyone from the general public is also able to reserve a villa room via the Disney website or their travel agent.

The WDW hotels that have villa rooms with washer/dryers are located at: Animal Kingdom Lodge (Jambo House and Kidani Village), Bay Lake Tower (at Disney’s Contemporary Resort), Beach Club, Boardwalk, Grand Floridian, Old Key West, Polynesian Village, Riviera, Saratoga Springs, and Wilderness Lodge (Boulder Ridge and Copper Creek).

So all rooms at those hotels have in-room laundry?

Only the one-, two-, and three-bedroom villas. There is no in-room laundry in standard hotel rooms, nor is there in-room laundry in studio-size villas.

For most people, having in-room laundry isn’t the main reason they’d choose a particular Disney hotel, but if you’re on the fence between two different types of rooms, the washer/dryer may be the thing that puts your over the edge.

Got it. I have a villa room with laundry–do I have to bring my own detergent?

The villas with in-room laundry are stocked at check-in with one container (meant for one load of wash) of eco-friendly laundry detergent. If you use the detergent, it will be replenished on your “trash and towel” day (if you’re staying at WDW using Disney Vacation Club points) or daily (if you’re paying cash for your room).

There are no dryer sheets or fabric softener provided in the room. There is a plastic laundry basket provided in the one-, two-, and three-bedroom villas.

I need more detergent. Where can I get it?

Laundry detergent is sold in the gift shops at the WDW hotels. You can also buy detergent in the vending machines at the public laundry rooms at the Disney hotels. There are often boxes of Bounce brand dryer sheets sold in the resort gift shops as well.

What brand of detergent is provided with the Disney World washers?

yacht club laundry

Several years ago, the ubiquitous vended brand was Tide. During a recent visit to WDW where I visited every resort hotel, the only brand of detergent I saw sold in the laundry rooms was powdered Ares Green Preference.

However, small boxes of powdered Tide detergent are available at most of the resorts.

I like the idea of having a washer/dryer in my room, but I’m worried about it being loud.

Honestly, that could be a concern. Some of the older machines are a bit noisy.

The in-room washer/dryers in the DVC villas are located in closets with folding doors, typically near the kitchen area. If you’re sleeping in one of the real bedrooms, you can close the door and will have some insulation from the sound. If you’re sleeping on the pull-out bed or couch in the the living room, you may find the sound distracting if you’re trying to sleep.

The workaround for this is to throw a load in the washer when you head out to the parks in the morning; switch it to the dryer when you pop back to the room for a nap or lunch; and then fold in the evening.

I’m staying in a villa, but it’s a studio. Will I have a washer/dryer in my room?

No. There are, however, laundry rooms at the Disney Vacation Club hotels (listed above) that are available for guests in studio-size rooms. Check your resort map or speak to the front desk at your hotel.

And – Good News! – if you’re staying in a studio villa, there is no charge to use the laundry facilities at your DVC hotel. This is included in the cost of your stay. There is no payment mechanism on the machines in the DVC resort laundry areas.

So can anyone just go in and do free laundry?

yacht club laundry

In order to get into the Disney Vacation Club laundry rooms, you need to scan your MagicBand or room key for access. So, no.

I’m not staying in a villa-style room, and I’m not staying at a Disney Vacation Club resort. Can I do laundry at Walt Disney Disney World?

Absolutely! EVERY DISNEY WORLD HOTEL HAS LAUNDRY ROOMS AVAILABLE FOR GUEST USE.

Cool. Where can I find these?

Most WDW resort laundry rooms are located adjacent to one of the hotels’ pools. This allows you to keep an eye on your clothes while you lounge in the sun or take an afternoon swim.

The locations of the laundry rooms will be marked on the resort map you receive at check-in. Here’s a round-up of laundry room locations if you want to plan ahead:

  • All-Star Movies: Fantasia Pool, Mighty Ducks Pool
  • All-Star Music: Calypso Pool, Piano Pool
  • All-Star Sports: Grand Slam Pool, Surfboard Pool
  • Animal Kingdom Lodge, Jambo House: Kudu Trail 2nd Floor, Zebra Trail 1st Floor
  • Animal Kingdom Lodge, Kidani Village: Samawati Springs Pool

  • Yacht Club: Admiral Pool

What are the laundry rooms like?

yacht club laundry

The hotel laundry rooms are set up like traditional laundromats, only much cleaner. Most laundry rooms have between three and seven each of washers and dryers, allowing you to accomplish several loads at once.

In addition to wash facilities, many of the guest laundry rooms also include a comfortable chair or two and sometimes a television set. There are also hotel phones in the laundry rooms so that you can easily keep in touch with family members in the room or contact housekeeping to report any problems.

How much does doing a load of laundry cost?

A wash cycle and a dry cycle each cost $3.00.

Do I need to bring a roll of quarters?

Nope. The laundry rooms at WDW are no longer coin operated. Payment is by card only at the laundry room. Your regular credit or debit card works perfectly for this.

Signs in the laundry rooms state, “If you prefer to use cash inquire at the front desk.”

yacht club laundry

What happens if I go to the front desk?

The front desk of your hotel can sell you a “Wave Rider” card for $7.00. The card includes one wash cycle, one dry cycle, and one box of detergent. The card they sell you is basically a workaround if you don’t have or don’t want to use a credit or debit card.

How does the card-based payment for laundry machines work?

There are instructional signs in each laundry room. Here’s what they say:

  • Load your laundry and soap into the washing machine(s).
  • Make your payment for each machine you selected at the payment station.
  • Select the cycles your desire at each machine before selecting OK to start the machine. The machine will lock one the cylce is started and remain locked until the cycle completes.
  • Repeat 1, 2, and 3 for the dryers.

Can I pay with my MagicBand?

Not now, though that may become an option at some point in the future.

yacht club laundry

How long does each wash and dry cycle last?

Theoretically, a wash and dry are 30 minutes each, but there is a huge amount of variability in this.

Ugh, so do I have to keep going back to see if my stuff is done?

Nope. There’s an app for that – called LaundryView.

How do I learn more about the app?

The following information is posted in the laundry rooms:

To check status and set alerts use Laundry View.

  • Scan the QR Code [displayed nearby] or enter the URL laundryview.com/disneyworld into your phone browser.
  • Select your location to view the status of each machine, including how much time is left on each cycle.
  • See laundry room usage reports to avoid the busiest times.
  • To receive text messages when your cycle is complete, select “option,” enter your phone number, select save, then select which machine(s) you would like an alert on.

yacht club laundry

Any tips about the app?

Well, I find it clunky and less than intuitive. But the laundryview.com website is great.

If you want to check when each laundry room is typically most active, use the “weekly statistics” tab on the page for each room.

I need some clothing cleaned, but I’m super busy (or super hard into vacation mode) and I don’t want to do it myself. Are there options for me?

If you’re interested in getting your clothing clean, but not interested in doing the wash yourself, valet service is available at all the Walt Disney World resort hotels. Valet service includes dry cleaning, pressing, or straight up laundry.

What will that cost me?

Prices can change, but for ballpark information some sample rates as of early 2020 were: dry clean suit, $15.00; dry clean skirt, $8.00, dry clean shirt or blouse $8.00; launder socks $3.00; launder pajamas, $7.50; launder tee shirt, $5.00. Obviously, it is much more cost effective to launder washable items yourself, but the dry cleaning rates are not far off what dry cleaners charge in urban areas of the United States. Pricing is uniform across all resorts.

yacht club laundry

So I can just pay $3.00 to get my socks washed?

Well, kinda. There is a $10.00 minimum charge for any valet service, plus you should probably tip the housekeeper that brings the clothing back to you.

Is there any other fine print related to valet pricing?

Oh yes. “Silks, linens, pleats, and lined items – 50% surcharge.”

I don’t need anything washed, but I do want something pressed. Can Disney do that for me?

Sure – press only items are charged at 75% of the cleaning price.

There’s also an iron and ironing board in every Walt Disney World hotel room, if you want to touch up some wrinkles yourself.

yacht club laundry

How do I tell Disney that I want something sent out for valet service?

At the moderate and deluxe resorts, you’ll find a laundry bag and valet price list hanging in the closet of your room. Touch the housekeeping button on your room phone and someone will come to the room to collect your items for you. If you fill out the valet slip, you can just leave the items in bag on your bed and housekeeping will deal with it.

At the value resorts, if you’d like an item dry cleaned or pressed, you must bring it to the bell services desk near the main resort lobby.

Are there specific hours for the valet service?

Valet service is available seven days a week. Items sent for service before 8:30 a.m. will be returned to you the same day, usually by 6:00 p.m. There’s also an express option, which costs $30.00 more, per order.

If you want valet laundry or dry cleaning overnight, that will cost you an extra $45.00 per order.

Any other tips?

Most of the WDW hotel gift shops sell Tide to Go pens, usually in the section with the over-the-counter medications. If you just have a small stain, rather than a stinky mess, a quick dab of Tide to Go might solve your problem.

Thank you for this information! We are planning a combined Disney Cruise and WDW Visit and wasn’t sure what the best way to pack would be. It seems like we’ll be able to take less since we can do laundry once we get to the resort. Do you happen to know whether there are laundry facilities on the Disney Cruise Liners as well? I’m hoping we don’t have to use them, but with a five-year-old and a two-year-old it’s best to be prepared!

Hi Lindsey,

There are indeed laundry rooms for guest use on all the Disney Cruise Line ships. This post talks about laundry on DCL. https://touringplans.com/blog/faq-doing-laundry-on-disney-cruise-line-ships/

The ship laundry rooms can get crowded, but they’re definitely a good option in case of emergency.

Hi Erin, I wonder do the studios or DVC hotels provide a clothes horse please? Not all my clothes are suitable for the tumble dryer.

Drying racks are not part of the standard equipment in any DVC accommodations at Walt Disney World. I’ve also never seen this on the list of items that are available to borrow from the resort.

My suggestion would be to lay your items flat on a towel on the floor of your room. Or hang them on a coat hanger from the bathroom shower rod.

If you want something dedicated, there are a bunch of hangar-with-clips style drying racks sold on Amazon for about $10 that would fit in most suitcases.

It’s worth noting that although there is no rack, if you only have a couple of items there is a retractable clothesline in the bathtub of every Disney World hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. I’m pretty sure it’s standard equipment. It’s meant for bathing suits and sags in the middle if you hang more than a couple of items on it and they’re heavy, but for one or two things it will get the job done. These are the type I’m talking about. https://www.amazon.com/Retractable-Clothesline-Stainless-Clothing-Bathroom/dp/B07783N55D?th=1

The DVC villas in-room stacked dryers are not very powerful, so recommend smaller loads as they seem to take forever to dry. Old Key West villas have full size washer/dryers and they work very well.

As a UK visitor I stay at WDW for a minimum of 12 nights at a time and always do laundry half way through the trip and the day before I go home. After a 9 hour flight and 5 hour time difference the last thing I want to face when I get home is a suitcase full of dirty laundry! I always go in the pool in the evening when I return from the parks so I do it then. My preferred resort of choice is Port Orleans French Quarter and the laundry room is so close to the pool – and the Mardi Grogs pool bar!

We've sailed with MSC a few times but our next cruise will be our first time in the Yacht Club. Does anyone know if laundry service included in YC package?

This was a package available on Divina earlier this year...

There are also various packages that can be pre-purchased before boarding.

Is it better to purchase the launday package pre or during the cruise.  I was looking at purchasing it but did not see a way to apply my OBC to the purchase, only using my CC?

Anything you pre-purchase cannot use OBC, once onboard you can then use your OBC.

We have a lot of OBC on our Feb. cruise (MSC promotion at the time we booked) so we have only booked excursions before boarding, anything else we will get once we are onboard.

Unfortunately no although it should be.  If Diamond, 10 percent discount.

Thank you again Mark.  I'll hold off booking anything else until we are onboard.  Pretty sure some of my OBC may be going toward upgrading the WiFi.

We got 4 free services.

My hubby used 2 pressing and I used 1 laundry.

Don't recall what ship you are on, but Mera included internet was pretty good.

Under what conditions/offer was that from?

We are always given 4 free items of pressing but any wash/dry laundry is chargeable.

We normally buy a package in any event before we cruise but the free pressing is useful for shirts! 👔

We always use this perk too.

We purchased pre-cruise the 20 item package.  That should cover us for the 11-day cruise.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort Review (Why We Love This Nautical-Themed Hotel)

Often, I forget how much I enjoy a resort until we get to stay there again. However, Disney’s Yacht Club is not one of them. I’ll never forget the first time I stepped ashore at the Yacht Club’s dock in the misting rain on a cold December evening. It was nearly dark, and it was probably the worst time to visit a resort for the first time.

But I had heard many nice things about the Yacht and Beach Club. So, I was determined to visit during this vacation. “This is where we’re staying next time,” those words rang through me. That’s when it all started: my love for the resorts at Walt Disney World .

We felt warm and welcome upon entering the lobby and seeing the massive globe and holiday decor. Eventually, we figured out how to navigate our way to the Beach Club. Both resorts are charming in their unique ways. The Yacht Club is the more formal, masculine side of the resort, while the Beach Club is soft and casual.

Anyone with a love for sailing or all things nautical will find themselves at home at Disney’s Yacht Club. Between its prime location and a long list of amenities, the resort is hard to top. As we continue this review of Disney’s Yacht Club, we’ll share our latest stay at the resort. Additionally, I’ll include a few pros and cons to consider when planning a stay. Let me unravel the knot for you.

Disney's Yacht Club sitting on the shores of Crescent Lake

Over the years, I’ve overheard many describe the New England-style Yacht Club as stuffy. I find it anything but that. Since our initial visit, it’s become a place I call home. Disney’s Yacht Club indeed has a more formal feeling than its sister resort, Disney’s Beach Club. However, I find the resort to be stylish while remaining casual. Of course, the Beach Club offers a more beachy vibe with a softer color palette. Those considering both resorts will likely want to read that review as well.

Related: Disney’s Beach Club Review

Before we go any further, there is one other essential item you might like to consider. Disney’s Yacht Club is a dog-friendly resort. That means there are designated rooms or floors where you can bring a dog.

Disney’s Yacht Club underwent a complete refurbishment several years ago, updating nearly every portion of the resort. However, it’s been a while since the rooms were completed, so we expect to see a room renovation sooner rather than later. The resort’s exterior boasts a pretty grey siding with white trim. Its subtle colors make for a lovely backdrop against the luscious green grass and landscaping.

disney yacht gazebo with crisp green grass and red paver walkway

If you’ve been following our recent coverage of the resort, you know we planned a stay at Disney’s Yacht Club for a variety of reasons. But first and foremost, it was time for several updates on the site regarding the resort. We also planned to attend After Hours at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We have a separate review of that experience if you want to learn more: Hollywood Studios Disney After Hours Review .

For reference, Disney’s Yacht Club is part of the Epcot Resorts Area , so the resort is directly between Hollywood Studios and Epcot. Therefore, you can walk from the resort to both theme parks. This location will be hard to beat compared to other alternatives. Furthermore, staying here made it convenient for us to switch between our planned priorities.

Not only is walking to two parks a considerable benefit, but the hotel resides on beautiful Crescent Lake . So it’s one of the most pleasant places to take a leisurely stroll at Walt Disney World.

a stream that leads to the lake at Disney's Yacht Club with the lighthouse in the distance

If you plan to spend a decent amount of time at Epcot or Hollywood Studios, I strongly suggest considering any resorts within walking distance of the parks . Other resorts in this area include:

  • Disney’s Beach Club Resort
  • Disney’s Boardwalk Inn
  • Disney’s Swan and Dolphin Resort

Another reason I love this area is that it provides teens with a great place to roam without worrying too much. When my son turned 14 (the age at which you can enter a park without an adult), he loved that I gave him some freedom to walk over to the nearby parks. Additionally, Epcot has multiple festivals throughout the year. If you plan a vacation primarily to visit any of the festivals, Disney’s Yacht Club is an excellent hotel option.

Disney's Yacht Club with crystal clear blue skies in the background

Disney’s Yacht Club has a classic interior with elements like sailboats, knots, and leather mixed with pretty shades of blue and gold. Modern furnishings were added to the lobby during its latest refurbishment.

You might even catch a glimpse of a giant hidden Mickey in the central rug. It’s the largest one I’ve encountered.

a giant hidden Mickey in the carpet of Disney's Yacht Club

A massive globe, the lobby’s centerpiece, sits prominently on display.

the giant globe that sits in the center of the Disney Yacht Club Lobby

On this visit, we were in room 2126, which was only a short walk down the second-floor hallway. We enjoyed walking out of our room and down the stairs to the lobby so quickly.

If you want to enjoy a more private space, there’s a small sitting area at the top of the stairs.

an upper level lobby with private sitting areas and a compass in the carpet at Disney's Yacht Club

You might also notice the carpet is on point. No pun intended. It features a compass pattern.

decorative display cases in the lobby of Disney's Yacht Club

Disney’s Yacht Club is slightly different from the other deluxe resorts regarding accommodations. It’s the only upscale resort without a separate Disney Vacation Club. However, next door, Disney’s Beach Club is home to the Beach Club Villas, a Disney World Villa Resort . All of the villa resorts are Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Resorts.

Most of Disney’s Yacht Club rooms sleep up to five guests. However, club-level rooms usually sleep four guests. If you’re curious about club level, we have an entire article covering the experience.

Related: Club Level at Disney’s Beach Club

Here are the following room view categories at Disney’s Yacht Club:

  • Standard View (Roof or Parking Lot View)
  • Garden or Woods View (View of Gardens)
  • Water View (View of Crescent Lake or Stormalong Bay)

Additionally, the Yacht Club has several two-bedroom suites for those needing a larger space. Those suites sleep up to six guests.

We booked a standard guest room with a garden or woods view for this stay. Our room had two queen-size beds and a futon-style sleeper.

room at Disney's Yacht Club Resort

Some rooms have king-size beds with a daybed. However, those rooms are usually considered an upgrade. Rooms at Disney’s Yacht Club have solid surface flooring that resembles hardwood. Here is the fold-down sofa that converts to a fifth sleeper.

Our guest bath was split with a separate vanity area from the water closet. There were two sinks, and our bath had a tub with a shower combination.

While our view was private, there wasn’t anything outstanding about it.

a garden view room at Disney's Yacht Club with balcony

We’ve stayed in a water-view room at Disney’s Yacht Club in the past. This is my all-time favorite room view at Walt Disney World, and I’ve stayed at many resorts.

water view room at Disney's Yacht Club

I enjoyed this view so much that I woke up every morning and sat on the balcony. During the day, we would visit the parks for a bit before coming back for a break. My first thought upon entering the room was to head out to the balcony. We would get ready for dinner in the evenings and enjoy a drink on the balcony before leaving. Then, when we returned to the room after dark, we would enjoy the view of the fireworks from Epcot.

I could have sat there all day and indulged in the comings and goings below.

Overall, the guest rooms at Disney’s Yacht Club are relatively simple and modern. The beds are platform-style, which allows room to store luggage underneath. One of the items that I liked the most was the curtains, which feature Disney-inspired constellations.

curtains that are dark navy blue with golden constellations and Disney characters

In addition, our room had a built-in closet across from the bath area with a safe, coffee maker, and mini-refrigerator. We have a separate article that features a video tour of the room and photos of all the details.

There are plenty of dining options at Disney’s Yacht Club and within the nearby area. However, all of the resorts in the area lack counter-service options.

The Market at Ale and Compass is the primary counter-service dining option at Disney’s Yacht Club. Unfortunately, most of the items are pre-made, which is not a good look for a high-end hotel.

During our stay, I stopped for a few updated photos, but not much has changed since our last visit.

Additionally, The Market at Ale and Compass has a decent coffee bar. Here are a few of the available items.

Ale and Compass Lounge is located off the resort lobby. It offers a small appetizer menu and a fairly unique selection of cocktails. We often enjoy stopping in for an order of Parker House rolls.

Ale and Compass is one of our favorite restaurants at Disney’s Resorts. This location serves one of the best breakfasts at Disney, as well as lunch and dinner. Plus, they have a to-go menu on the mobile-order portion of the My Disney Experience app.

We had breakfast one morning during this stay, and I had the Salted Caramel Apple French Toast. It was divine. But as you already know, my favorite item here is the chocolate waffle.

Crew’s Cup Lounge is located down a hall off the Yacht Clubs’ lobby. This location serves as the lounge for Yachtsman Steakhouse. Don’t skip out on this location, thinking it’s just “another lounge” because it’s not. Crew’s Cup doesn’t require reservations and has a full menu with food and beverage options. On this visit, we stopped in to try the charcuterie board. It was delicious and more than enough for two people to share.

Yachtsman Steakhouse is the signature dining location at Disney’s Yacht Club. We’ve had the opportunity to dine here several times in the past. Yachtsman specializes in serving prime cuts of beef. On your way to the table, you will pass a butcher-style display of said meats.

However, the best part about dining at Yachtsman Steakhouse is the onion rolls. They are delicious, and the server will bring roasted garlic to the table for you to enjoy with them.

Lastly, we have Hurricane Hanna’s, a walk-up waterside bar and grill that serves Stormalong Bay, the pool area. This counter-service location offers burgers, chicken nuggets, sandwiches, and similar items.

Additionally, you might enjoy a meal at one of these restaurants located on the Beach Club side of the resort:

  • Beaches and Cream Soda Shop
  • Beach Club Marketplace
  • Cape May Cafe (Character Breakfast)
  • Cape May Cafe Seafood Buffet
  • Martha’s Vineyard

We have a complete guide that lists the options at both resorts.

In addition to its location, the Yacht Club has one of the best pools at Walt Disney World . Stormalong Bay is a huge feature pool that’s more of a water park than a pool. It has the following: a lazy river, a water slide, a sand bottom pool, multiple hot tubs, a kids’ pool, and much more!

We always plan an entire day at Stormalong Bay during our visits. For this trip, we checked into the hotel early to spend the day at the pool. Since our room was ready upon arrival, we were able to put our things away and then head directly out to the pool. However, a large bathroom behind the pool has a separate changing area for guests.

Additionally, there’s a shower with toiletries for guests. So, if you have a late flight, you could spend the day at the pool, shower, and change before heading to the airport.

There’s one other thing I wanted to mention about the pool. The Yacht Club’s water slide sits across the walkway from the pool area at the top of the shipwreck.

Sometimes, guests complain that children have to leave the pool area to enter the water slide. However, I’m sure most guests are unaware that there’s a kiddie pool inside the shipwreck. It’s a hidden surprise to those who dare to take on the Flying Jib water slide.

On a previous visit, we splurged on a cabana rental at Stormalong Bay. While the rental was pricy, it was an experience we won’t soon forget. We have a separate article that details our day.

Outside the pool area, several beaches are available with chairs and swings. Below is a photo of the fire pit where marshmallows are roasted each evening. Additionally, Movies Under the Stars are usually held in this area on the beach when it’s warm.

There should be several activity schedules posted around the resort.

These schedules list the times for the campfire, poolside activities, crafts, and other various recreational items. Toward the bottom, it lists the nightly movie schedule. It was cooler in the evenings during our stay, so movies were being held at the Beach Club’s Solarium.

Guests looking for a more private relaxing spot at the Yacht Club will enjoy the resort’s quiet pool, the Admiral Pool.

Additionally, the resort’s main laundry facilities are located near the quiet pool, so if you need to do a little laundry, this is an excellent location. I usually start our laundry, then grab a bite to eat and enjoy a peaceful lunch by the pool.

Disney’s Yacht Club has a fitness center called Ship Shape Health Club. It sits directly behind Stormalong Bay and is shared with the Beach Club. Ship Shape is a convenient facility that offers anything needed to get a good workout while on vacation. In addition, the gym has cooling towels and a place to refill a water bottle.

Lastly, Disney’s Yacht Club shares an arcade with the Beach Club. Lafferty Arcade sits next door to the Ship Shape Health Club. Here is a look inside.

As we discussed earlier, the Yacht Club’s location is one of the resort’s most significant benefits. In addition to being able to walk to two parks, the resort offers boat and bus services. The Yacht Club has a dock right outside its back door at the lighthouse. Disney’s Friendships boats provide transportation to the surrounding resorts, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios.

If you prefer to walk, Epcot is less than 10 minutes away. For Hollywood Studios, the walk takes approximately 15-20 minutes. Walking on the way back to the resort is a great way to decompress after visiting the parks. Guests traveling to the following theme parks and destinations will want to take a bus from the Yacht Club.

  • Magic Kingdom
  • Animal Kingdom
  • Disney Springs
  • Blizzard Beach
  • Typhoon Lagoon

Yacht Club’s bus stop is outside the resort’s main entrance.

Bus Stop at the Yacht Club

Both resorts (Yacht and Beach) share bus service, so don’t be surprised if your bus stops at Beach Club before heading to your destination. Yacht Club is the first stop upon return. Guests can also walk to the International Gateway or Hollywood Studios to use the Skyliner gondola transportation. This is a great option for anyone visiting Caribbean Beach or Disney’s Riviera Resort for a meal. For more information, we have a guide with tips on the best way to get to and from the Yacht Club.

Resorts Gal’s Spin on Disney’s Yacht Club

Is a stay at Disney’s Yacht Club worth the price? My answer is that it’s entirely up to your budget. However, if you can reasonably afford to stay at the Yacht Club, I don’t think you’ll regret it.

We love to stay at Disney’s Yacht Club because we enjoy the classy style of the resort, the pool, and the location. It’s our vibe. That said, Disney has a ton of excellent deluxe resorts that might be more what your idea of a vacation is than mine. All of the great options can make the decision difficult.

For example, while I love the Yacht Club for its location, you might enjoy a resort like Disney’s Polynesian. It has a tropical Hawaiian feel that you might consider more relaxing. ( Disney’s Polynesian Resort Review )

Another favorite is the Animal Kingdom Lodge. While this is not my favorite resort, it ranks as our choice for the best resort at Walt Disney World due to its uniqueness. ( Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Review ) Additionally, we love to stay at Disney’s Contemporary Garden Wing . However, the Contemporary is not for everyone.

Final Thoughts

We hope this review of Disney’s Yacht Club provided an overview of whether or not the resort will work for your family. We love staying at both the Beach and Yacht Club. Even during this most recent stay, I thought about how I’ve never tired of staying here. These are also the resorts I almost always compare with other hotels.

As someone fortunate to travel often, I always eventually get a little homesick for this place I love dearly. Some of the days we’ve spent at Stormalong Bay are my best Disney memories. I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I do.

Wrapping up this Disney’s Yacht Club review, I wanted to add a few points to remember about the resort.

  • Staying at Disney’s Yacht Club offers the opportunity to save a considerable amount of travel time between two parks. Additionally, the ease of being close to Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at Epcot only add to the convenience.
  • Since Yacht Club is a Disney Resort, resort guests are eligible for early theme park entry .
  • Resort guests of the Yacht Club will also have access to extended evening hours for deluxe resort guests .
