Custom Line

Founded in 1996, Custom Line, a brand of Ferretti Group, engineers, designs and builds made-to-measure, contemporary, high-end superyachts in composite material and aluminium alloy with custom interiors for highly demanding clients.

Each Custom Line yacht blends cutting-edge technology, ingenious functional solutions and unmistakable design and is made to reflect her owner’s personality.

More than 350 Custom Line yachts have been built at the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard in Ancona, Italy, over nearly three decades and cruise all over the world.

Created in partnership with the Product Strategy Committee, led by Mr. Piero Ferrari and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department that develops the naval architecture, the Custom Line range comprises three lines, ranging from 30 to 50 metres LOA.

The three lines - Planing, Navetta and Aluminium - are three like-minded spirits with the same passion for cruising, comfort, design, technology, total reliability, safety and different ways to experience the sea.

The planing line is made of composite materials, and includes the Custom Line 106’, Custom Line 120’ and Custom Line 140’. It targets dynamic and demanding customers who love performance and cutting-edge design accompanied by a high level of onboard comfort.

The Navetta displacement line, designed for owners seeking large volumes and the ultimate in cruising comfort on long cruises, consists of the Custom Line Navetta 30, Custom Line Navetta 33, Custom Line Navetta 42 and the new Custom Line Navetta 38, all made of composite materials.

Custom Line 50, the brand’s new displacement flagship, is an all-aluminium construction and a one-of-a-kind naval architecture and engineering project that stands out in the 50-metre segment. With a displacement hull under 500 GT and a length of 49.9 metres, the Custom Line 50 extends across five decks in a layout that revolves around the positioning of the owner’s apartment in the forward area on the upper deck.

Impeccable quality and attention to the subtlest detail have always been a Custom Line hallmark, along with the Italian heritage and deep expertise to create the finest works of art on the water.

The design process is a constant dialogue with the discerning owner's family. Every step is coordinated with the client, who experiences first-hand the unique satisfaction of creating his own magnificent yacht of distinct character and individual aesthetic taste. At the heart of this journey, the Custom Line Atelier and the Custom Line project management team include talented project architects, skilled engineers and technicians who support the owners right from the initial brief, developing the yacht and tailoring it to their lifestyle.

Custom Line combines advanced technology, Italian creativity, flexibility and craftsmanship throughout the design and construction process. The shipyard is a highly specialised industrial organisation with the experience to complete complex projects to meet the ambitious goals of building quality, fully hand craftsmanship, rigorous controls, optimized production and efficient delivery.

Custom Line’s many assets include the advanced Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard in Ancona in Italy. Spanning almost 80,000 square metres, around 33,000 of which is indoors, the Ancona construction hub builds pleasure vessels of up to 90 metres in length. This multi-brand facility is the centre of excellence for designing and building metal superyachts for CRN, Riva Superyachts Division, Pershing and Custom Line brands and composite yachts for the rest of Custom Line range: all icons of craftsmanship, design innovation and advanced technology.

The stretch of water that opens out in front is a unique space and a precious resource, a gateway to the Adriatic Sea, a strategic access door to the rest of Europe, the Middle East and the Mediterrean Sea, that offers the highest yachting standards, exceptional amenities and services.

Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard marina is a private tourist marina to full effect. Extending 250 metres along the coast, it provides large berths for fitting out and finishing up to 15 superyachts at once. The yard vaunts a 670-ton travel lift for launching metal and composite pleasure ships of up to 50 metres, which is also used to haul out vessels for testing. The facilities include nine modern high-tech sheds, all fully heated, air-conditioned and comprehensively equipped. They feature state-of-the-art air-extraction, compressed-air and centralised technical gas systems, heating and power-generation systems  and two overhead cranes for handling and installing materials on board.

Custom Line shipyard includes five dedicated sheds, each one with four workstations dedicated to hull construction and interior fittings of Custom Line's fleet.

Ferretti Groups "Private Preview" in Monaco shared 37 new yacht models and UK pop star Robbie ... [+] Williams with a select group of VIPs.

Since Ferretti Group CEO Alberto Galassi invited a very special (and large) group of Ferretti Group VIP’s to experience ELTON JOHN at an ultra-exclusive black tie concert in Venice’s Tetro La Fenice last December, I was hardly surprised to learn that the Ferretti Group would be staging an uber-exclusive “Private Preview” event to show off the all the Ferretti Group’s new models in Monaco before the Monaco Yacht Show. And, oh, by-the-way, UK pop star Robbie Williams would be preforming on a stage floating next to the Yacht Club de Monaco during the event too!

Robbie Williams put on a show for Ferretti Group VIP's in Monaco

The private concert was held for a carefully selected audience that included: H.R.H. Prince Albert of Monaco, Ferrari Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc (back home in Monaco after his victory at Monza), iconic fashion designer Domenico Dolce, Italian movie star Pierfrancesco Favino who’d just returned from the Venice Film Festival, and over 600 Ferretti Group Yacht owners from all over the world.

Robbie Williams and all of the Ferretti Group's new models headlined the latest "Private Preview" ... [+] held in Monaco

“A big thank you to Robbie Williams for the style and extraordinary talent with which he won the hearts of our guests and friends,” said Ferretti Group CEO Alberto Galassi. “He entertains his audience with an incredible joy and generosity that are perfectly in tune with the passion Ferretti Group brings to the creation of ever more beautiful dream boats. This stellar Private Preview welcomes in a remarkable season for Ferretti Group and its fantastic new products. We'll carry the enthusiasm and energy of this event in our hearts for the rest of the season and our memories of it will remain truly unforgettable.”

And the setting for the event at Yacht Club de Monaco provided a pretty compelling backdrop for the all of the Group’s boats that will be on display at the upcoming boat shows including the Custom Line Navetta 38 ; Pershing GTX80, Ferretti Yachts INFYNITO 80, Ferretti Yachts 670, Riva El-Iseo , Riva’s first full-electric powerboat, and two new models from Wally Yachts, the wallywhy100 , and the wallywind110 .

Robbie Williams was the consumate showman at the Ferretti Group private preview

My only question is: What is Galassi going to do to delight and excite is every expanding family of owners (and introduce new yacht models) next? I guess we’ll all have to just have to stay tuned to find out.

See inside the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection's second vessel, Ilma

Portrait of Nathan Diller

  • The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection's second ship, Ilma, departed on its maiden voyage Monday.
  • The 790-foot-long Ilma is larger than its predecessor Evrima, which launched in 2022.
  • The ship will operate cruises in the Mediterranean, Caribbean and Northern Europe ranging from three to 13 nights.

The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection is growing.

The luxury brand’s second ship, Ilma, departed on its maiden voyage Monday. The vessel, which will spend its inaugural season sailing the Mediterranean, was fittingly named for the Maltese word for water.

The 790-foot-long Ilma is larger than 624-foot predecessor Evrima, which launched in 2022 .

“It is with immense pride and excitement that we welcome Ilma to our growing fleet,” executive chairman and CEO Jim Murren said in a news release. “Since Evrima’s debut, we have been steadfast in our pursuit of excellence at sea. The addition of Ilma signifies a continuation of our mission to deliver legendary service and unparalleled enjoyment to our guests.”

Here’s what to expect.

Where does Ilma sail?

Along with the Mediterranean, the 448-guest ship will operate cruises in the Caribbean and Northern Europe ranging from three to 13 nights. The ship’s week-long maiden voyage from Monte Carlo, Monaco, to Rome, Italy, includes stops in Saint-Tropez, France; Bastia on the island of Corsica; and Livorno in Tuscany.

What can passengers expect on board?

For a relatively small vessel, Ilma has a robust culinary program. There are five dining venues, seven bars and a wine vault.

Two of the eateries were crafted by chefs from Michelin-starred restaurants. Modern Italian fine dining concept Seta su Ilma by Chef Fabio Trabocchi serves seasonal tasting menus paired with wines – largely Italian reds and whites. The beach club-inspired Beach House offers Pan-Latin dishes, craft beer, an “elevated tequila selection” and more, according to a separate news release , with a menu developed with Chef Michael Mina.

Another space, The Living Room, serves coffee and pastries in the morning, and cocktails, Champagne and wines later in the day, which guests can enjoy while listening to live music.

There are also two pools, including an infinity pool at the vessel’s aft, a spa and fitness studio. Passengers can find direct access to the water for activities like snorkeling and kayaking at the ship’s Marina, or grab a drink at the nearby Marina Terrace.

Each of Ilma’s 224 suites have private terraces, as well.

Floating resorts vs yacht-like vessels: How to pick between big and small cruise ships

How much do cruises on Ilma cost?

Prices vary depending on the sailing date, suite category and other factors, but starting prices for 2024 sailings currently range from $5,200 to $14,900 per person based on double occupancy.

The fare includes multiple dining venues, Wi-Fi, gratuities and more.

This weekend the fashion world’s attention will be turned firmly towards the runways of New York. At Prada, however, they will be keeping at least half an eye on the Mediterranean waters off Barcelona. For this is where the Milanese house is driving its seventh attempt to win the world’s oldest international sporting competition: The Louis Vuitton America’s Cup.

Fashion and sailing typically only intersect during preppy revivals (deck shoes) or at parties off Cannes (where the superyachts don’t come with sails, so strictly don’t even really count). Yet since 1997 and driven by the passion of chairman Patrizio Bertelli, Prada has persistently been locked in a deadly serious campaign to claim the sport’s greatest prize. Miuccia Prada christened the team’s latest boat—the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli AC75–earlier this year and during its opening days of competition over the last few weeks it has only narrowly avoided being struck by lightning as this year’s competition heats up.

The Prada Luna Rossa in the Mediterranean.

While the ultimate objective is to contribute to Italy’s first-ever successful attempt on the (currently New Zealand-held) cup, Prada’s involvement in sailing has also indirectly helped steer it through the choppy waters of fashion. Back in 1997, as Prada prepared its first Luna Rossa challenge, it launched the Linea Rossa—the line in which it has outfitted its sailors ever since.

As Lorenzo Bertelli, Prada Group’s CMO and Head of CSR, said in an email: “Prada has combined the knowledge gained from developing technical sportswear for the Luna Rossa team with Prada’s aesthetics, resulting in the Linea Rossa collection.” He added: “The attitude to introduce technical fabrics and refinements typically belonging to sportswear into the everyday formal wardrobe embodies Prada’s unconventional spirit.”

Most especially in menswear, “technical” is often used as an adjective to indicate high-performance function—or at least the appearance of it—through technologically advanced fabrications. At Linea Rossa the garments, footwear, and eyewear are all rooted in that core performance sailing origin, which means the functionality and robustness of the products is more reliably high-spec, akin less to fashion pieces and more to items of industrial design.

That functionality hasn’t sunk Linea Rossa’s chances of the occasional appearance on Prada’s highest podium. In 1999, Linea Rossa featured on both men’s and women’s mainline runways (the menswear linked-hands section was especially memorable), and it made a return in 2000. The red line reappeared on both runways for a relaunch in 2018, just at the point when the house was setting sail from its longstanding home on Via Fogazzaro to its new berth at Fondazione Prada. The next time we saw Linea Rossa on the runway was during a stand-out section of its spring 2020 show in Shanghai. It most recently re-emerged during the doldrums of Covid, for spring summer 2021’s The Show That Never Happened .

According to Vogue’s skeleton crew of sailing watchers (just me, I think) this year’s Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli craft and crew seem strong contenders to emerge from the opening “challenger” stages as winners of the right to take on New Zealand for the America’s Cup. For fashion reasons as much as sailing ones let’s hope they do it—because such a famous victory would surely herald another Linea Rossa runway moment.

Tito Jackson, Michael's brother and member of Jackson 5, dies at 70, sons say

Updated on: September 16, 2024 / 1:15 PM EDT / CBS/AP

Tito Jackson, one of the brothers who made up the beloved pop group the Jackson 5, has died at age 70, his sons say.

Tito was the third of nine Jackson children, which include global superstars Michael and sister Janet, part of a music-making family whose songs are still beloved today.

"It's with heavy hearts that we announce that our beloved father, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Tito Jackson is no longer with us. We are shocked, saddened and heartbroken. Our father was an incredible man who cared about everyone and their well-being," his sons TJ, Taj and Taryll said in a statement posted on Instagram and Facebook late Sunday.

Fool In Love Festival 2024

Jackson's death was first reported by "Entertainment Tonight," which said in a social media post that, "Steve Manning, a longtime Jackson family friend and former Jackson family manager, tells ET that Tito passed away today. While an official cause of death has not yet been determined, Manning believes that Tito suffered a heart attack while driving from New Mexico to Oklahoma."

The Jackson 5 included brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael. The family group, which was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1997, produced several No. 1 hits in the 1970s including "ABC," "I Want You Back" and "I'll Be There."

The Jackson 5 became one of the biggest names in music under the guidance of their father, Joe Jackson, a steelworker and guitar player who supported his wife and nine children in Gary, Indiana. As the family's music careers took off, they relocated to California.

Born on Oct. 15, 1953, Toriano Adaryll "Tito" Jackson was the least-heard member of the group as a background singer who played guitar. His brothers launched solo careers, including Michael, who became one of the world's biggest performers and came to be known as The King of Pop.

Press conference The Jacksons

Michael Jackson died at age 50 on June 25, 2009.

Speaking to The Associated Press in December 2009, Tito Jackson said his younger brother's death pulled the family closer together.

"I would say definitely it brought us a step closer to each other. To recognize that the love we have for each other when one of us is not here, what a great loss," he said, adding he would personally never "be at peace with it."

"There's still moments when I just can't believe it. So I think that's never going to go away," he said.

In 2014, Tito Jackson said he and his brothers still felt Michael Jackson's absence in their shows, which continued with international tours.

"I don't think we will ever get used to performing without him. He's dearly missed," he said, noting that his spirit "is with us when we are performing. It gives us a lot of positive energy and puts a lot of smiles on our faces."

Days before his death, Tito Jackson posted a message on his Facebook page from Munich, Germany, on Sept. 11, where he visited a memorial to Michael Jackson with his brothers.

"Before our show in Munich, my brothers Jackie, Marlon, and I, visited the beautiful memorial dedicated to our beloved brother, Michael Jackson. We're deeply grateful for this special place that honors not only his memory but also our shared legacy. Thank you for keeping his spirit alive," he wrote.

Tito Jackson was the last of the nine Jackson siblings to release a solo project, with his 2016 debut, "Tito Time." He released a song in 2017, "One Way Street," and told the AP in 2019 that he was working on a sophomore album.

Jackson said he purposely held back from pursuing a solo career because he wanted to focus on raising his three sons, who formed their own music group, 3T . Tito Jackson's website offers a link to a single featuring 3T and Stevie Wonder titled, "Love One Another."

Tito Jackson also is survived by his brothers Jermaine, Randy, Marlon and Jackie, his sisters Janet, Rebbie and Latoya and their mother, Katherine. Their father died in 2018.

Excellence is a story to tell

Background Philosophy

Experience the harmony of the water

Ever true to its original vocation, Custom Line has built a fleet of timeless yachts with a special focus on the bespoke. A perfect combination of cutting-edge technology, ingenious functional solutions, and exquisite, unmistakable design, every Custom Line creation is a unique work of art. Each Custom Line is a made-to-measure yacht that reflects the owner’s personality, their thirst for the horizon, their own way of living the sea. Every Custom Line yacht is a masterpiece with a unique story to tell.

Where water takes shape

Every Custom Line yacht begins her voyage well before she meets the water. It starts in the mind's eye of her designer and continues in the masterly hands of those who bring her to life. Each Custom Line yacht is designed and built by skilled employees, workers and specialist craftspeople working with pride and purpose every day to create the very finest superyachts, to create your Custom Line.

Riding the waves in style.

Where some people see technology, we see an unforgettable experience: shaping the water in a beautiful, mellifluous dance. Custom Line yachts benefit from patents that elevate the sensation of cruising into an art form.

Background Philosophy

Every detail defines an experience.

Technology, beauty and comprehensive functionality meld into a harmonious whole where nothing is left to chance. Custom Line has transformed cruising into an increasingly exclusive, personalised experience, with innovations for superior stability and control, reduced rolling and a delightfully quiet ride.

The state-of-the-art in a signature style

Every Custom Line yacht is a perfect blend of engineering and functional design. The yard’s pioneering vocation has revolutionised the pleasure boating arena. At the heart of this effort, the Ferretti Group Engineering Department is a world-leading research hub that explores the new frontiers of engineering, design and latest-generation materials.

yacht line group

Give free rein to your identity.

Custom Line was founded in 1996 to create a range of superyachts in composite materials individually made for highly demanding clients. The result is a fleet of planing boats and semi-displacement and displacement yachts from 30 metres in length with an array of personalised solutions. The idea is to give free rein to the personality of those who love to experience the sea, wave after wave. Some people see a line on the horizon; we see a world ripe for exploration. Custom Line has been synonymous with pleasure yachts that are supremely innovative, stylish and functional for over two decades, with a seagoing fleet of almost 300 boats worldwide.

The space to create

Custom Line yachts are built entirely in our superyacht yard in Ancona, Italy. This is where water takes shape. Custom Line owns dedicated strategic facilities here, with latest-generation tools for building semi-custom and custom-made superyachts in composite materials and in aluminium alloy across the entire Custom Line range and in metal up to 90 metres in length for other Ferretti Group brands, in a state-of-the-art 80,280 sqm shipyard. The stretch of water that opens out in front is a unique space and a precious resource – a gateway to the Adriatic and a private marina to full effect. Extending 250 metres along the coast, it provides large berths for fitting out and finishing up to 15 superyachts at once. The yard vaunts a 670-ton travel lift for launching metal and composite vessels of up to 50 metres, which is also used to haul out vessels for testing. The facilities include nine modern high-tech sheds, all fully heated, air-conditioned and comprehensively equipped. They feature state-of-the-art air-extraction, compressed-air and centralised technical-gas systems, heating and power-generation systems, and two overhead cranes for handling and installing materials on board. The sheds can accommodate up to 24 superyachts under construction at the same time.

Innovation becomes inspiration

The yard is a space where Italian inspiration becomes pure innovation, where the future is no mere horizon of idle dreams. Here, where cruising becomes art, is where the Custom Line journey begins. A journey that leads beyond the surface, beyond the superficial. A journey that starts with people – the artisans, the workers, the practitioners of the art of building the finest yachts. A journey as unique as the yachts and their owners. Because cruising is an art. The art of going beyond. The art of being different.

Sicily Yacht Victims Died of "Dry Drowning" After Running Out of Oxygen in the Cabin

Following the bayesian yacht’s tragic sinking, more information has emerged on the cause of death of four of the seven victims who drowned in the aug. 19 accident.  .

More information has been shared on the deaths of the Sicily yacht victims .

The initial autopsies of four of the seven victims who died when the Bayesian yacht sank last month—cook  Recaldo Thomas , spouses  Christopher Morvillo  and  Neda Morvillo , Morgan Stanley International Chairman  Jonathan Bloomer  and his wife  Judy Bloomer  as well as tech mogul  Mike Lynch  and his daughter  Hannah —have revealed they died of “dry drowning,” CNN reported , citing authorities.

The finding suggests, per CNN citing local media reports, that these four victims—couples Christopher and Neda as well as Jonathan and Judy, per officials—had found an air bubble in the cabin in which they were found and had consumed all the oxygen before the air pocket turned toxic due to carbon dioxide.

The outlet further cited reports saying the autopsies for Mike and his 18-year-old daughter are likely to be carried out Sept. 6, while the autopsy for chef Recaldo is on hold due to difficulty in reaching his family in Antigua.

E! News has reached out to the public prosecutor's office of Termini Imerese, which assigned the autopsies, as well as the Institute of Forensic Medicine of the Policlinico for comment but has not yet heard back.

It was previously confirmed that spouses Christopher and Neda died together , Italian news organization ANSA confirmed Sept. 2, and that the autopsies exhibited “no signs of trauma” and there are “no other causes linked” to their deaths.

At the time of its Aug. 19 sinking, the 184-foot Bayesian yacht had 22 people aboard in total, including 12 guests and 10 crew members. The sinking, which has been described by maritime experts as anomalous, occurred due to harsh weather conditions, including a waterspout, Salvo Cocina of Sicily's civil protection agency told NBC News .

As Salvo noted of the ship, “They were in the wrong place at the wrong time.”

In the weeks following the tragedy, captain James Cutfield has been placed under investigation for manslaughter following the incident, as confirmed by his lawyer Giovanni Rizzuti to NBC News . However, that does not mean he will face charges.

As NBC News noted, being placed under investigation in Italy does not imply guilt and does not guarantee formal charges will follow. Instead, notices need to be sent to people under investigation before authorities could carry out autopsies.

One of the survivors of the sinking  Charlotte Golunski —who survived alongside her partner  James Emsley  and her 12-month-old daughter  Sophie —previously detailed the terrifying moment the ship was hit by the storm. "

For two seconds, I lost my daughter in the sea, then quickly hugged her amid the fury of the waves," she told Italian newspaper  La Repubblica  one day after the accident, per the BBC . "It was all dark. In the water I couldn't keep my eyes open. I screamed for help but all I could hear around me was the screams of others."

Bears Fail to Measure Up Against Texans in 19-13 Defeat

Gene chamberlain | 14 hours ago.

Tight end Dalton Schultz tries to elude a tackle attempt by Jaylon Johnson in Sundays 19-13 Bears loss.

  • Chicago Bears

The Bears and Caleb Williams didn't figure to be on a level with the Houston Texans.

They weren't, but they took measure of how they compare with one of the league's better teams and quarterbacks, them moved on after a physical 19-13 loss.

"What I was most proud of was the guys fought all the way to the end and we had ourselves a chance to win the game to the last possession," coach Matt Eberflus said.

The offense failed to measure up to what the Texans got from C.J. Stroud as Williams completed 22 of 37 for 174 yards with two interceptions and was sacked seven times, but Houston's QB went 23-of-36 for 260 yards with one TD.

"Watching tonight we were moving the ball pretty well in the first half it felt like," Williams said. "Then in the second half it kind of got shaky and out ahead for us and things like that."

The Bears defense recovered from a rocky start to hold the Texans to three second-half points, limiting Houston's Joe Mixon to 25 yards on nine carries one week after he ran for 159 yards.

However, Stroud did enough first-half damage throwing to wide receiver Nico Collins to give Houston all the points necessary on the day, with a 23-of-36 effort for 260 yards and one TD. Collins had eight catches for 135 yards and the 28-yard TD for a 10-3 lead.

Wallow in self-pity, panic, or do whatever you need to do for a day or two but they are 1-1 with plenty of winnable games coming up. This is a young team with plenty of growing pains to figure out. There’s no reason this team can’t be 5-4, if not better. #Bears pic.twitter.com/GZNh9Pco28 — Aaron Leming (@AaronLemingNFL) September 16, 2024

Houston gained just 75 yards rushing as a team, but the lack of punch by Williams and his receivers, and the missing running game left the Bears with the road defeat.

The Bears defense combined with 115 yards in Texans penalties to keep the Bears in the game, while Williams and the passing game inched forward.

However, a final drive with no timeouts remaining ended in a fourth-and-17 incompletion from the Bears 40 to snuff out their chance to upset a 6 1/2-point favorite on the road. In the process, the Bears committed nine penalties of their own for 60 yards and repeatedly stumbled as a result.

Houston scored on its first three possessions as the Bears fell behind 13-3 and their defense started almost as poorly as the offense. But the defense gave up only one field goal in the second half after the Texans had their only touchdown in the second quarter on a second-and-24 throw of 28 yards to Collins by Stroud.

"Be careful to draw too many conclusions too fast after two disappointing starts. Be cautious in concluding anything but the #Bears have done a lousy job of giving their rookie QB an offensive line that gives him a chance to succeed.'' https://t.co/5EFr8nuxSI via @670TheScore — David Haugh (@DavidHaugh) September 16, 2024

"It's a good player, I mean, a really good player and he got right behind our linebackers into the second part of the coverage," Eberflus said. "Again, I could have called a better call. I wasn't crazy about the (defensive) call."

A Cam Akers fumble forced by Andrew Billings and recovered by safety Kevin Byard at the Chicago 3-yard line with 6:28 remaining provided the Bears with a chance to rally but neither of their last two possessions resulted in a long drive.

The Texans had field goals of 56, 53, 47, 59 and 53 yards from kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn and their blitzing defense managed to halt every Bears drive except for a 49-yard march to Khalil Herbert's 2-yard TD run with 32 seconds left in the half.

An O Line that gives up 7 sacks. Cant create holes in run game. And commits penalty after penalty. Yuck. — Mike Hall (@MikeHallHere) September 16, 2024

It pulled the Bears within 13-10 but Houston rebounded with a quick 24-yard march to the 59-yard field goal, then added the 53-yarder in the fourth quarter for a 19-10 lead. The Bears were left in comeback mode.

Santos had a 54-yard fourth-quarter field goal after hitting from 53 yards in the first quarter, but the offense managed only 71 yards rushing and Williams threw two second-half interceptions.

"In terms of running, we obviously want to run the ball better than what we did," Eberflus said. "It was OK, but not good enough.

"We've got to establish the run game. I think it's always a good friend to a young quarterback when you can do that."

I feel like I’ve watched that exact same Bears game about 1,000 times in my life. — Nick Friedell (@NickFriedell) September 16, 2024

The Bears offense gained 57 more yards than last week and Williams threw for 81 more yards but without Keenan Allen due to a heel injury and with Rome Odunze playing on a sprained knee, the passing game lacked the punch to make up the difference.

They had one Santos field goal and two interceptions with six punts on their final nine possessions.

"When we finally connect and we're all on the same cylinder, in the same cylinder, it's going to be good," wide receiver DJ Moore said. "Right now we're building this puzzle together. Until we get that puzzle fully complete it's going to be an up-and-down road."

It took every bit of my soul not to thrash that boy. https://t.co/vJE6AFvzz4 — Roschon Johnson (@roschon) September 16, 2024
