You have been introduced to Flynn's "new" ship, the Dread-Yacht. But before tracking down the hermit, some replacement parts are required.

Flynn: Alrighty - we gotta make a quit pit stop before we shove off to find that hermity fella. Cali: What do you expect to find around here? Flynn: Oh, you can find a lot of things around here, Cali... Maybe even love -- BOOM!!!

The dread-yacht (somewhat violently) docks onto the side of the island, sending a mabu flying.

Flynn: Welcome aboard the Dread-Yacht, Skylander. You arrived just in time, too. Here's the deally-o - first thing we need for our trip is probably the most important thing ever. Now, I'd go get it myself of course, but because of a 'misunderstanding', I'm not really allowed to set foot on this island... Heh, it's a long story. Cali: -And I'm sure a fascinating one. Flynn: So if you could just - uh - go pick it up for me, Cali can get going on some minor repairs, which... I'll oversee.

Dread-Yacht [ edit | edit source ]

Before heading onto the island, you can visit Persephone's Cabin (near Cali) to start purchasing upgrades, though they haven't been formally introduced yet. If you do not wish to purchase upgrades yet, continue onto the island.

Rotten Moorings [ edit | edit source ]

Y button

Walled Ruins [ edit | edit source ]

There are two more root runners here. Finish them off, then destroy the next wall. Destroy the pile of bricks on the left as well. Go to the left and drop down.

Rotten Bottom [ edit | edit source ]

There is a cave entrance here.

The Cave [ edit | edit source ]

Inside is some debris, as well as a tzo crystal. These can only be destroyed by bombs, but can also be destroyed with the attacks of Whirlwind, Flashwing, Crusher and Prism Break, and leave valuable loot. There is also a breakable wall. You could grab the bomb from earlier and quickly drop down, enter the cave and use it, but using a Giant is probably easier. The 1st Treasure Chest is revealed. Bust it open, then exit the area.

Rotten Bottom (cont.) [ edit | edit source ]

Use the bounce pad to get back up onto the mainland.

Walled Ruins (cont.) [ edit | edit source ]

Smash any other debris and walls blocking the path, then go through.

Eon: Using a Skylander of a particular element in areas that match will give them more power and experience.

Crumbling Remains (Undead) [ edit | edit source ]

There are a few chompies to kill. As always, you can use a Giant to destroy these walls, but to get the bomb, push all the blocks to the right. Then push the furthest block into the gap to form a bridge to a platform with some treasure and the bomb. You can destroy the next two walls from this position, allowing you to pass through.

- New Enemy: Drow Lance Master (Pointy Ears with Pointy Spears)

These guys aren't too difficult to kill, just avoid their spear attacks. A bounce pad will reveal itself on the right. But remove the boulder on the left first.

Hephaestus' Chain (Undead) [ edit | edit source ]

Crumbling remains (undead) (cont.) [ edit | edit source ].

Use the bounce pad to get onto the platform and collect the Octophonic Music Player.

Dread-Yacht (cont.) [ edit | edit source ]

Flynn: Awesome! Now it's finally a road trip! BOOM!

He turns on the music player, which blasts a funky tune.

Cali: Er... seriously? This is what we came here to get? Flynn: You are right, Cali. Let's get serious. Look - our engine is currently just a family of raccoons.

The ship departs the island.

Flynn: And that's probably not a good thing, right? Luckily, I know a guy who can sell us a real one.

The ship docks onto the next island.

Cali: Wait, up until now, this ship has been running solely on raccoon power? Flynn: ANGRY raccoon power to be exact. In fact, better not tell the little critters they're being replaced. They won't like that.

Dread-Yacht (Cont.) [ edit | edit source ]

Again, you can visit Persephone's Cabin if you wish. If not, head onto the next island.

Lonesome Drow Landing (Earth) [ edit | edit source ]

- New Enemy: Bark Demon (Chomps Chompies to heal himself)

These enemies are tough. They have both ranged and melee attacks, and eat chompies to heal themselves. Once these enemies are taken down, the battle gate on the right will open. Collect the key and use it to open the door on the left.

Barker's Knob (Earth) [ edit | edit source ]

Defeat the enemies here. Follow the coin trail to a nearby hut.

Forger's Basement (Earth) [ edit | edit source ]

In this room is some debris and a bomb that you need to throw at the far wall (or use a Giant). Behind this wall is the Legendary Treasure, the Propeller Pilot House Roof. You can then leave.

Barker's Knob (Earth) (cont.) [ edit | edit source ]

Get the key to the right of the hut, and use it on the door to the left of the hut.

Bottleneck's Keep (Earth) [ edit | edit source ]

There are some bone chompies to defeat.

- New Enemy: Drow Archer (Raining fire from above)

The Dread-Yacht

dread yacht

My Rating :star: :star: :star: :star:
What I Like It's awesome
Dislike Not in the new games

The Dread-Yacht, also known as Cap'n Flynn's Ship, is the hub world in Skylanders: Giants that is actually a cursed ship. It can be customized in the game from Legendary Treasures found in the game. The Dread-Yacht made a reappearance in Skylanders: Swap Force and later Skylanders: Trap Team.

Some say that the person who originally built the ship was a very bad pilot. He was constantly getting lost, crashing into things, not stowing his luggage safely in the overhead compartment, etc. So he decided that since he probably wasn't going to become a better pilot, he should try to build a machine that just makes him very lucky. He could still be bad but he would luck out and it wouldn't matter. So he built the Luck-O-Tron machine on board the Dread Yacht (then called the "SS. Look Out!!") but unfortunately, this guy wasn't a great inventor either because what the Luck-O-Tron initially did was drain all the luck permanently out of the ship and it was never lucky again. He was able to salvage the Luck-O-Tron to provide some help to people who fly on the ship, but never when they are actually on the ship. This is the original curse of the Dread Yacht.

Skylanders: Giants

Using the reward money for "defeating Kaos", Flynn purchased the Dread-Yacht from a desperate seller, who knew that the ship was cursed. The Molekin of Molekin Mountain, and Bowsers from Cutthroat Carnival, have heard or possibly knew about the Dread-Yacht's origins.

Skylanders: Swap Force

The Dread-Yacht took major damage during Flynn and Tessa's desperate escape from the Greeble Airships. It was soon towed to Woodburrow where the villagers began to repair the damage the vessel sustained. After a series of quests throughout the Cloudbreak Islands, Sharpfin and his crew repaired the Dread-Yacht, giving the ship new improvements including a spy mode, leprechaun gold plated trims, a manual, and a hot tub.

Skylanders: Trap Team

During their assault on the Skyhighlands, Cali piloted the Dread-Yacht to help tackle the aerial forces surrounding the pirate hideout.

Return of the Dragon King

The Dread-Yacht was used to transport Spyro, Hex, Cynder and Wallop to and from the Skylanders Academy during their journey to the Cadaverous Crypt. However, as an attempt to damage the newly revived Malefor, the airship had its trajectory redirected by Hex and dropped on the dragon, destroying most of it. The Skylanders then had The Dread-Yacht's remains tied to Malefor and its heavy weight was used to drag both it and the evil dragon to the lower parts of Skylands.

Rift into Overdrive

Flynn used the Dread-Yacht to transport Jet-Vac, Stealth Elf and Gill Grunt to Know-It-All Island. Soon after discovering the history behind the Rift Engines, Kaos created a rift, which consumed the island and the Dread-Yacht itself, leaving its fate unknown.

In the story events of Giants, the Dread-Yacht's bad luck brought misfortunes to the crew while they were on their quest to stop Kaos, such as the ship repeatedly breaking apart in some areas, getting struck by lightning, ambushed by an Arkeyan Copter and later a ghost pirate ship. Flynn however, refuses to believe that his ship is cursed.

After its debut, the ship has been badly damaged or even completely destroyed several times, but it is always rebuilt entirely in short amount of time.

Flynn took all the credit for the events that happened in Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure and used the reward money to buy the ship.

With the right set wings, you can unlock Hatterson's shop. The only set of wings that will do this is the Dragon Set's wings, which are available at Kaos' Kastle.

Despite being unadvanced in technology, the Dread-Yacht does have a holoprojector in Flynn's cabin.

If you use anyone who can create large objects and throw it down the side, the object will collide with an island.

Many fire attacks will die out when touching the water puddles on the main deck.

When a Skylander goes close to the music box on the Flynn's ship, they will sing his/her name.

Eruptor is the only Skylander that does not sing his name when near the jukebox.

Some Skylanders, like Gill Grunt, will have an unlimited amount of water when you stand on the puddles on the main deck.

Curse Magazine recently rated the Dread-Yacht as the #6 most cursed thing in their "Top 100 Curses" issue, just behind the vegetable, broccoli.

Ghost Roaster is the only Skylander who is able to die on Cap'n Flynn's Ship due to his ectoplasm mode.

In the Wii version of Skylanders: Giants, there is a glitch with Eruptor that is caused by using his Eruption attack while standing in a water puddle, then bringing up the Skylanders Stat Menu just as mist rises up from the puddle. If you keep performing this, the mist will stay there. It can lead to a game crash if performed enough times.

The people of Boom Town admire Flynn so much, that some of them think he disguised the Dread-Yacht as a rickety piece of junk (when clearly it was).

The Dread-Yacht's grappling hook can be seen in its back in the console version of Giants, while it had to be installed after the piece was found in the Rust Marsh's old troll factory. This implies the events of the 3DS version took place before the console version.

Raiders of the Lost Arkus, Part 1

Raiders of the Lost Arkus, Part 1 is the twelfth episode of Skylanders Academy Season 3.

  • 3 Featured characters
  • 5 Continuity

The Skylanders need to get to Arkus before Strykore and his minions, and a bold plan is the only way to pull it off.

With the map to Arkus in his possession, Strykore uses his powers to activate the castle's rocket boosters as he and his troll army begin their journey to Arkus. News quickly reaches the Skylanders, their best solution to halt Strykore is to get to Arkus ahead of him, but cannot travel themselves, with the map, the only source for its location, in Strykore's hands. Master Eon recalls Cynder's psychic ability to find any place in the Skylands and that she could provide the directions to Arkus, but that would mean an attempt to rescue her from Malefor's clutches in the Underworld, where Eon is unable to conjure a telepathic link for her exact location. Fortunately, Captain Flynn arrives yet again assuming they require his assistance.

Captain Flynn has recently journeyed the Underworld and has sighted Cynder's presence, so the Skylanders partner up with Flynn and board the Dread Yacht for a rescue attempt. Spyro, however, stalls their mission seemingly hesitant to face Malefor. With everyone unaware of this, Eon agrees to postpone but they inevitably must go. As the Dread Yacht heads for the Underworld, Stealth Elf draws up their plan on confronting Malefor which Spyro would spearhead. Upon hearing this, Spyro interrupts it with a sudden strong sense of someone else nearby needing urgent help. The team decide to trust his instincts and the Dread Yacht veers off course to intervene. But when they arrive at the sight, they only find a lone sheep about to eat grass, which Spyro exaggerates as the important situation. The Skylanders question Spyro's behavior, sensing something's bothering him, but Spyro denies this as he claims to commit in rescuing Cynder, but noticeably struggles to even speak Malefor's name.

Kaos struggles to break free from his underwater cell, since it even weakens his powers. In a desperate cry, he bangs his body against it. Though not free, it loosens a few screws, causing a leak which Kaos is able to manage at the moment. To his relief, Glumshanks is able to find him and prepares to set him free before more leaks break open. Glumshanks resurfaces and returns to his boat carrying 20 bags of concrete, claiming it will resolve the leakage in Kaos's prison, but proves too heavy when a single bag destroys his rowing boat.

Captain Flynn takes the Dread Yacht at a place at the Underworld where he last saw Cynder, but as they get near their destination, large floating islands get more concentrated where one damages the Dread Yacht. Captain Flynn decides not to join the rescue but stay at his ship, not willing to risk it get destroyed. Flynn drops them off and gives them limited time for their rescue before he returns. They manage to find Cynder and inform her of her rescue, but she refuses and pleads for them to leave, revealing she intentionally didn't want to be found by blocking Master Eon's telepathic link, as Malefor would pose a serious threat if they are caught. But they are too late, Malefor arrives and quickly engages the Skylanders. The team manages to counter Malefor, nearly subduing him, but Spyro remains terrified, missing his chance to deal the final blow. Eventually, Malefor regains his strength and blast the Skylanders with a magnetic burst that keeps them glued individually at small floating rock formations.

With no other options, Glumshanks returns to Kaos bearing terrible news; he can do nothing but watch as Kaos slowly drowns inside his cell with more leaks breaking through. Kaos accepts his fate and the two share their last remarks, but suddenly, the cell begins to float. Above the sea, Claire and Gary are fishing together, with Gary unknowingly lifting up Kaos's cell. When it finally reaches the surface, Kaos manages to get free, subsequently taking the Mabu couple's boat and forcing them to row Kaos and Glumshanks to Arkus, having memorized the directions earlier.

While Malefor scolds his daughter, Stealth Elf brings up Spyro's failure. Spyro confesses that he was afraid to act, as he fears Malefor. Reminiscing his traumatic experience, since Malefor was responsible for having Spyro get turned evil by Strykore that eventually led him to commit evil actions on his own friends. The Skylanders sympathize but encourages Spyro to face his fear in order to prevent such an event happening again. This gives Spyro an idea, just as Malefor confronts them again with the intent to consume their light energy and use it to have the ability to raise an Undead army that would invade the Skylands. But Spyro replies revealing that he is still a loyal servant of Strykore, claiming it was Strykore's idea to lure the Skylanders into a botched rescue attempt and he delivers Strykore's message of gratitude for his service, and the Skylanders seemingly express surprise at this. This convinces Malefor, eager to be more of service, and frees Spyro. Spyro claims that Strykore gave him an incantation that can make Malefor invisible, so he has Malefor close his eyes as he recites the made-up incantation while Cynder proceeds to free the team. When Spyro finishes, Malefor is fooled to believe that he is invisible but he notices Cynder and the Skylanders have boarded the Dread Yacht and make their escape. Malefor angrily gives chase to his daughter, but Spyro diverts him away, forcing Malefor to face him off instead. Spyro hides behind a floating isle, as Malefor charges and whips his tail at Spyro, but misses, causing his tail to get stuck unable to free himself. The Skylanders praise Spyro's bravery and tactics, no longer fearing Malefor.

Cynder makes a safe return to the Academy. But with Malefor closing in on Arkus, Master Eon urgently has to request Cynder to use her psychic ability to find Arkus. Though exhausted, she attempts to use her power to scour the Skylands, eventually finding the lost island. The team embark the Dread Yacht for Arkus. Master Eon and Kaossandra contemplate over Kaos's future, once Strykore is finally finished. To access Arkus, the Dread Yach has to enter a trans-dimensional vortex since it does not exist within the Skylands. Afterwards, they finally land at the beautiful land of Arkus, hurrying to get to the Iron First first.

The team arrives at where the Iron Fist is hidden but is met by the arrival of Strykore and his troll army, about to clash against each other in possession for the Iron Fist. But to their shock, Kaos already holds the Iron Fist and is committed to enact his revenge against his father. Strykore remains undeterred and laughingly allows Kaos to try. Kaos wears the Iron Fist and the entire island trembles as the Iron Fist summons the giant Arkeyan Conquertron.
