The 5'1" draft keel protects the rudder more. Also, deeper keel = better performance. If you do a search here in The Cherubini Hunters forum on"Hunter 37C Problems" you will know about 90% of the problems endemic to this model. Since you have restored other boats, you already know many of the problem areas in any old fiberglass sailboat anyway.

The Cherubini-Hunter 37 (with some updates) is a fine boat for someone that needs/wants a cutter rigged, heavy displacement boat. According to Sailboatdata.com it has a 50 foot air draft, and a 5 foot draft.
