COSTA SMERALDA

Right by the harbor the busiest part of Porto Cervo, with the small square, luxury boutiques, ateliers, elegant cafes, and exclusive bars that electrify the nightlife. The picturesque alleys and colored balconies create the scenario of pleasurable walks to enjoy on a sunny day.  Porto Cervo enchants the visitor day and night.

The old harbor is the result of the love of Prince Karim Aga Khan IV for beauty. At the end of the Fifties, the Prince bought this stretch of wild coast and, with the help of a team of famous architects, built an elegant social destination that soon attained international fame. Local forms and shapes inspire Porto Cervo’s landscape architecture. The unique style of the location derives from the harmony of landscape and human design.  The new harbor larger and can accommodate more yachts. Considered among the best of the Mediterranean, it accommodates luxurious and exclusive yachts.

Close to Porto Cervo, to the south of Costa Smeralda, is Cala Volpe. This naturally secluded cove is an exciting spot to anchor your yacht and enjoy a day in the water, embraced by the charming colorsand smells of the nature. The sandy seabed, turquoise waters, and wild vegetation are a breath-taking spectacle to newcomers and habitué. Just as spectacular is the hotel by the same name, designed by Jacques Couelle.  The lovely islands of Mortorio, Le Camere and Soffi, are surrounded by nature and crystal clear waters.

To the north is the quiet spot of Baia Romazzino, situated near Punta Capaccia. Relax is guaranteed if you decide to sleep in the exclusive, eponymous hotel, one of the most loved of the Coast.. Sailing to the south of Porto Cervo you encounter Pevero bay. Crescent-shaped, the bay is divided in two beaches of white sand and juniper trees: “piccolo Pevero” and “grande Pevero”. The untouched nature, low seabed and transparent waters conspire to create an enchanting vision.  A wonderful view of islands and cliffs awaits the yachters who ride at anchor in one of the inlets that follow each other along the coast. Grande Pevero is also a golfing destination and home to the exclusive Golf Club. For fans of the nightlife, there is ample choice of clubs and bars.

ARCHIPELAGO OF LA MADDALENA

Located in the North-East of Sardinia, overlooking the Bocche of Bonifacio, the Archipelago of La Maddalena is a paradise for pleasure boating.  Navigating the waters is challenging, and it's good to rely on experienced hands and plan your route well, keeping in mind that the prevailing winds in the summer months are the west winds, Maestrale. The islands offer many shelters within a few miles, each bay is a masterpiece of nature. Of the more than sixty islands and islets that make up the archipelago, La Maddalena is the biggest, the only one inhabited (except for the few houses in Santa Maria and the Stagnali village in Caprera) and it offers all port services. The heart of the island of La Maddalena is lovely, very pleasant for a stroll or to have lunch, and Cala Gavetta is the historic and picturesque port.

We head through between the wonders of the archipelago encountering the Island of Caprera, whose coastline is a succession of colours, and beautiful bays and coves. The rich Mediterranean vegetation, the rocks shaped by the wind and the crystalline waters, creates one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world.The most famous cove is Cala Coticcio (called Tahiti), whit a lots of opportunities to stop for swimming and scuba diving. Cala Napoletana on the north and Cala Garibaldi on the west offers excellent shelters from winds of the II quadrant, while Porto Palma to the South is the location where you will find shelter from almost all winds. 

Continuing to the North West we meet the Island of Santa Maria, with its famous bay where it is possible to drop anchor in 4/5 meters of sandy bottomed sea, or use one of the buoys placed by the Park Authority. Just on the opposite side there is the island of Budelli, with its sumptuous mooring, called Manto della Madonna, a natural swimming-pool of deep blue sea, which offers shelter from the East. Arriving at shore, with a short walk you can visit Spiaggia Rosa (PINK beach), where it is forbidden to navigate or drop anchor. A wooden walkway allows you to walk around this spectacle of nature, at sunset to watch the red granite that colours the sea and the horizon.

To the west lies the Island of Spargi, stopping at Cala Corsara or at Cala Connari allows you a swim. Visiting these islands on board, the possibility of stopping are numerous, small beaches stretch along the coast. To the north, directly overlooking the Bocche di Bonifacio, there is the Island of Razzoli. The harshest and less welcoming, but one of the most beautiful. Dominated by the lighthouse built in 1800, Razzoli offers a good shelter from Eastely winds in Cala Lunga, a long inlet where the National Park Service has placed buoys. The water is clear, huge rocks polished by the sea and wind take on strange shapes, dozens of species of fish will accompany you while bathing.

SOUTH OF CORSICA

We invite you to discover the Southern end of the island, the Corsican mountains sweep down to the sea in an apotheosis of beaches, creeks and islets. In our navigation route along the coast of Corsica we will sail between the islands of the Bocche di Bonifacio and then to the west to the city of Bonifacio. Corsica offers pure nature, beautiful beaches, harbors among the most beautiful in the Mediterranean but it requires careful navigation. Rely on our expert hands or well planned routes with pilot books and papers! Considered one of most beautiful places with stunning crystal clear waters and fine white sand is Isola Piana; a small island connected to the mainland by a shoal which can be taken by foot. You are well-sheltered from the 'Levante', both in the East and West, but be careful of low sand-banks. The bay is usually very busy in the summer, with boats louds of tourists who flock to the beach (and windsurfers whizzing over the water). If you get to shore along the shoal you can visit the ruins of a Roman Villa or you can just have a drink at the little bar on the beach.

South East of the Isola Piana there are two of the most famous localities of Bonifacio's Park, the island of Cavallo and Lavezzi islands: two places so close but so different! Cavallo is the island of celebrities, great villas, and it is forbidden go on foot beyond the beach. It is not forbidden to moor in Cala Zeri in the East side, or in Cala Alga in West slope, you will enjoy spectacular seas full of fish and colors similar to the Caribbean. Alternatively you can dock in the small but equipped port of Cavallo. Lavezzi on the other hand is an uninhabited island, an accumulation of stones shaped from the seasand winds over the centuries, from the truly timeless beauty, both above and below the sea. We will sail towards Cala di Greco where you can leave the boat to explore the island which you can see on foot in a few hours.

A few miles separate Lavezzi from Bonifacio, one of the most charming Mediterranean ports to visit. Entering the port is already "a sight in itself", a long fjord that cuts the white cliffs with the old town above. You won’t be missing the nice walk on the upper old town of Bonifacio. Through the doors of the old castle along the nice Promenade.

PROTECTED MARINE AREA OF TAVOLARA

Embracing one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline and picturesque Mediterranean marine protected area of Tavolara, covers approximately 15 thousand hectares of crystal clear water, in our itinerary we will sail between inlets and coves that extend from Capo Ceraso to Punta l'Isuledda. The Protected sea area of Tavolara - Capo Coda Cavallo, founded in 1997, includes within it special protection areas (islands of Tavolara, Molara, and Molarotto): the pond of San Teodoro, visited with an easy and picturesque trail, resting point of pink flamingos in migratory periods and the said residence of the 'king' of Tavolara.

The marine area is ideal for scuba diving: dive sites, tested routes, biodiverse environments populated by shoals of Mediterranean fish that offer an unforgettable show for divers. Authorized diving centers guarantee professionalism and security for both dives: with breathing apparatus or snorkelling. The island of Tavolara has cliff faces of 500 mt in limestone and granite. The island's ecosystem has been preserved intact over the centuries by a lack of human intervention.

The eastern sector, a military zone, is inaccessible. Otherwise in the low panhandle, called Spalmatore Earth, there are beaches, a marina, two local restaurants and some houses. Together with the neighboring islands Molara and Molarotto, there are approximately 150 wild goats. Its granite cliffs are full of caves and niches. On sandy strips grow sea lilies while the rocks are covered with juniper bushes, helichrysum, rosemary and mastic. It is said that in the last century Charles Albert, King of Piedmont and Sardinia, landed on the island in search of the mythical goats with gold teeth (phenomenon caused by a herb that reflects a golden awe), he was fascinated to the point of naming its only inhabitant, Paolo Bertoleoni, "King of Tavolara".

For several years the island has been the setting for an interesting summer film festival, the Tavolara Film Festival, involving artists of great fame and draws a passionate audience.

Continuing sailing northwards we reach a promontory of rare beauty, Capo Figari, it is the most extreme part of a ridge of hills that runs through the Golfo Aranci in its entirety. Jutting out into the Tyrrhenian Sea with imposing majesty and stands out in the enchanting blue sea with its rocks and its cliffs, it is a paradise of flora and fauna, enriched by the scents of juniper, which characterize it and make it natural jewel. In the vicinity of the Cape Figari is its observatory, famous for being the place where Guglielmo Marconi sent the first Radio connection between Capo Figari and Rocca di Papa.

Porto Cervo

5-Hour Cruise

Embark on your yacht in Porto Cervo, Sardinia and sail off to Ajaccio, Corsica's capital city and birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte . Anchor for lunch in Sartène as you make your way up. Go onshore to explore the old town or lounge on the water and have dinner aboard amidst the picturesque sunlit hillsides. Head back to the main center of Costa Smeralda, Porto Cervo, with its chic boutiques and amazing marina.
