Vacuum infusion technology for hull production makes it very stiff but light, stainless steel frame provides rigidity, and carbon fibre reinforcements in structural parts bring everything together, making this and incredible performance cruiser yacht.

When it comes to interior, our main aim was to create high quality, classic interior with a modern touch. Everything you see inside the boat was selected and made with attention given to detail, quality and functionality. First and foremost, it was important to create woodwork of the highest possible quality, made from real teak handpicked in Burma, dried for two years and then treated.

It blends together in a perfect harmony of colors and lines to make you feel like home. All furniture for More 55 is made by one of the best luxury yachts furniture factories in the world, “Metalika ship & yacht interiors“. Their impressive yacht portfolio includes luxury motor and sailing yachts, cruisers and passenger ships.

All furniture is additionally protected with two extra layers of varnish. Plywood is marine okoume of the highest quality.

Floors are made from Alucore aluminum with wood looking finish laminate, which guarantees you will have no moisture in the future and your floors will be the same for many years to come. Highest quality hinges, door handles and locks. Cushions are made from nano technology in Aqua clean material.

Maurizio Cossutti designed More 55 the only way Italians know how to design – to be beautiful. The modern lines and elegant features are emphasized with vertical backward inclining of the bow. Both the exterior and the interior profit from aligned windows which give the exterior a sporty, somewhat mischievous look, and privacy with natural lighting to the interior.

Since the yacht was designed to accommodate comfortably the crew during leisure sailing, to offer enough eating and lounging area to 12 people, it had to offer also enough space in the cockpit for the crew participating in a regatta. The yacht has several versions, and the future owner can choose among the three general versions with additional features available upon request, all in terms of possible offers. To achieve so much space without adding to the height of the cabins and overall yacht appearance, it took a lot of skill and knowledge, which is the best description of the cooperation between More Yachts and Cossutti Design.

This is a pure charter version in which there are 5 inner cabins, 3 toilettes, large kitchen and saloon, plus skipper cabin or sail locker. If you want to have a boat as an investment, this is a perfect layout for you. It will provide a long charter life to your boat and long season.

The theoretical maximum speed that a displacement hull can move efficiently through the water is determined by it's waterline length and displacement. It may be unable to reach this speed if the boat is underpowered or heavily loaded, though it may exceed this speed given enough power. Read more.

Sail Area / Displacement Ratio

General information

Accommodation, design characteristics.

The interiors have been designed taking care of each detail, looking at the best ergonomic layout to give to the owner a unique feeling, as well as the option of several interior layouts with up to 5 cabins plus crew cabin possible.

From the structural point of view, the More 55 is designed to be stiff and to withstand the natural loadings from the rig and keel. The hull has been laminated with an optimised lay-up including unidirectional and biaxial glass fibres. Different densities of foam core have been used in the different areas of the hull and deck to assure the proper balance between weight and stiffness, for example in the forward area, where there are high slamming loads, a high-density core has been used in combination with single skin laminate. Single skin laminates are also used in areas of through-hull fittings etc.

The central structure of the boat is dominated by a stainless steel frame sitting beneath the saloon sole which is designed to take the high loads from the mast, shrouds and keel and transfer them smoothly and efficiently to the hull. This frame is connected mechanically to the bulkheads. The remaining structure of the boat is made by longitudinal and transversal stiffeners laminated in a female mould with a combination of glass bi-axial end carbon unidirectional fibres, glued and tabbed to the hull.

All the bulkheads are made of plywood apart collision bulkheads which are located fore and aft, both of which are made of a composite material to offer a better resistance with less weight.

The T-fin keel is assembled with a cast iron fin and a lead bulb. The keel is then laminated in GRP to ensure accurate foil geometry. The appendages have been designed to have the best sailing performances with perfect manoeuvrability. The rudder is also supported by a stainless steel stock, and the rudder quadrant is easily accessible at deck level for increased safety and ease of maintenance.

Outside you will have a big storage area or skippers cabin depending on your wishes. You can choose to have a crew cabin with heads forward or a larger sail locker.

Things to know

A licence is required to sail this boat, you check the list on our page “Acceptable licences in Croatia” . However, if you and your crew do not have a boat licence you can easily add a skipper at the checkout. Similarly to renting a car, chartering a boat requires a security deposit. The deposit, refundable after check-out, covers you and your fellow passengers against accidental damage and ensures that contractual obligations are met. The security deposit varies in value depending on the model and brand of the boat. It will be returned to you after the boat has been inspected and is deemed undamaged. You can choose to purchase the refundable security deposit, or pay a one-off deposit waiver fee instead.

We have partnered with Pantaenius and EIS to provide a range of additional insurance options for your charter.1) Charter deposit insurance - secures the security deposit in the case of loss or damage to the chartered boat as a result of a naval accident.2) Cancellation insurance - covers the cancellation cost in case of sudden serious illness, accident or death.3) Charter payment insurance - covers against the potential insolvency of the charter company; boating accidents occurring before the rental period or sinking. It also provides insurance in the case of the charter not being able to provide the boat selected at booking or an alternative vessel!

Croatia Charter Fleet offers a FULL REFUND for cancellations made within 72 hours of booking .Flexible payment dynamics to make your decision easier with minimum downpayment and multiple instalments .When you book a charter within thirty (30) days of departure, we require payment in full. You can get in touch with the skipper as soon as you’ve completed your booking. Our skippers are highly qualified and knowledgeable about their locality. They all speak English. The skipper is to be payed in the marina at the check in (for crewed charter, the crew is already included in the price)

A Transit Log is a variable payment, which can include the following: bed linen, cleaning, on-board Internet connection, tourist tax and base marina fees. The details of the Transit Log differ depending on the boat, location and charter partner. Once you choose your boat, our team will be able to outline the specifics of the Transit Log associated with your booking.

There are marina fees and fuel costs which vary depending on the type, duration and location of your sailing holiday. Marina fees need to be paid at each marina you choose to dock overnight – the amount varies but you may be able to find this information in advance by contacting the marinas directly. Fuel costs depend on whether you’re you like to sail or go with the motor. Here is the example of all obligatory and optional costs for one of the catamarans . CATAMARAN: 3,735.00 € Standard charter pack: 170.00 € (OBLIGATORY) Tourist tax: 1.30 € per person per day (OBLIGATORY) Skipper: 700,00 - 1,050.00 € (OPTIONAL) Hostess: 600,00 - 910.00 € (OPTIONAL) And here are some estimates expenses: Fuel est.: 250 – 350 € Mooring fees est.: 200 – 400 € Presuming that most of the nights will be on the anchor or mooring buoy. Some people will go entire week with only 150 € spent on mooring fees. It also depends on the weather. It is safer to be in marina if there is a storm. Food: 450 €+ (provisions for boat + skipper) Please note that this does not include dinners in restaurants. Meals in restaurants are 15 € for pizza and soft drinks, while full meals are 25-35 € per person. VAT is included in all the prices.

Divers searching the wreck of a superyacht that sank off Sicily found four bodies Wednesday, as the search continued for two more missing passengers and questions intensified about why the vessel sank so quickly.

Divers and rescue crews unloaded two body bags from the rescue vessels that pulled into port at Porticello. Salvatore Cocina, head of the Sicily civil protection agency, said two other bodies had also been found Wednesday in the wreckage for a total of four.

The discovery indicated that the operation to search the hull on the seabed 50 meters (164 feet) underwater was a recovery one, not a rescue, given the amount of time that had passed and no signs of life had emerged over three days of searching, maritime experts said.

The Bayesian, a 56-meter (184-foot) British-flagged yacht, went down in a storm early Monday as it was moored about a kilometer (a half-mile) offshore. Civil protection officials said they believed the ship was struck by a tornado over the water, known as a waterspout, and sank quickly.

Fifteen people escaped in a lifeboat and were rescued by a nearby sailboat. One body was recovered Monday — that of the ship’s Antigua-born chef, Recaldo Thomas.

Six people remained unaccounted for, including British tech magnate Mike Lynch, his 18-year-old daughter and associates who had successfully defended him in a recent US federal fraud trial.

Investigators from the Termini Imerese Public Prosecutor’s Office, meanwhile, were acquiring evidence for their criminal investigation, which they opened immediately after the tragedy even though no formal suspects have been publicly identified.

Questions abound about what caused the superyacht, which was built in 2008 by Italian shipyard Perini Navi, to sink so quickly, when the nearby Sir Robert Baden Powell sailboat was largely spared and managed to rescue the 15 survivors.

Was it merely the case of a freak waterspout that knocked the ship to its side and allowed water to pour in through open hatches? What was the position of the keel, which on a large sailboat such as the Bayesian might have been retractable, to allow it to enter shallower ports?

“There’s a lot of uncertainty as to whether it had a lifting keel and whether it might have been up,” said Jean-Baptiste Souppez, a fellow of the Royal Institute of Naval Architects and the editor of the Journal of Sailing Technology. “But if it had, then that would reduce the amount of stability that the vessel had, and therefore made it easier for it to roll over on its side,” he said in an interview.

Yachts such as the Bayesian are also required to have watertight, sub-compartments that are specifically designed to prevent a rapid, catastrophic sinking even when some parts fill with water.

“So for the vessel to sink, especially this fast, you are really looking at taking water on board very quickly, but also in a number of locations along the length of the vessel, which again indicates that it might have been rolled over on its side,” Souppez said.

Italian coast guard and fire rescue divers, meanwhile, continued the underwater search in dangerous and time-consuming conditions. Because of the depth of the wreck — which is far deeper than most recreational divers are certified for and at a depth that requires special precautions — divers working in tag teams can only spend about 12 minutes at a time searching.

The limited dive time is designed in part to avoid decompression sickness, also known as the “bends,” which can occur when divers stay underwater for long periods and ascend too quickly, allowing nitrogen gas dissolved in the blood to form bubbles.

“The longer you stay, the slower your ascent has to be,” said Simon Rogerson, the editor of SCUBA magazine. He said the tight turnaround time suggests the managers of the operation are trying to limit the risks and recovery time after each dive.

“It sounds like they’re operating essentially on no decompression or very tight decompression, or they’re being extremely conservative,” he said.

Rescuers have recovered the last body from the sunken Bayesian superyacht. The body belonged to 18-year-old Hannah Lynch, the daughter of British billionaire Mike Lynch, Italian newspaper Giornale Di Sicilia reported. Divers found Hanna's remains on Friday morning near the Yacht's wreckage.

Her father's body was found on Thursday afternoon, bringing the total number of confirmed deaths from the sinking to seven. The Italian Coastguard announced on Friday that they had located the sixth and final missing person on the sunken Bayesian. Vincenzo Zagarola of the Italian Coastguard said that the search for Hannah had been neither "easy nor quick," comparing the submerged yacht to an "18-story building filled with water."

Grim Discovery

Hannah's body was pulled out of the waters on Friday morning, bringing an end to a grueling rescue mission that lasted more than 84 hours. Hannah was also the youngest of the seven victims of the superyacht.

The body of Recaldo Thomas, a Canadian-Antiguan national who worked as a chef on the superyacht, was recovered at the site of the sinking on Monday.

Gareth Williams, a friend of the chef, told the BBC: "I can talk for everyone that knew him when I say he was a well-loved, kind human being with a calm spirit."

The others identified among the recovered bodies include New York City attorney Christopher Morvillo and his wife Neda, along with Morgan Stanley executive Jonathan Bloomer and his wife Judy, according to The Guardian, which cited reports from Italian media and divers.

Lynch's wife, Angela Bacares, and 14 others, including a 1-year-old child, were able to escape the ship before it capsized.

Lynch had invited the group on his family's yacht to celebrate his recent acquittal in a major U.S. fraud trial. Among his guests were lawyers from the firm that defended him, along with friends and supporters who stood by him during the legal ordeal.

Ending in Tragedy

The search for the sixth and final missing person continued on Thursday, with authorities committed to finding the missing teenager by day's end. "We are still working on it," Giuseppe Petrone, the national director of Italy's firefighting department divers, told The Guardian. "We should be able to recover the sixth body today."

Divers spent the last four days searching within the wreckage of the sunken yacht, but their task posed major challenges due to the ship's depth—around 160 feet underwater.

Given this depth, divers could remain submerged for 12 minutes at a stretch.

It was earlier revealed that the captain of the superyacht, New Zealander James Cutfield, was "questioned for more than two hours" by Italian prosecutors last night.

The "highly respected" seafarer was interrogated by the Termini Imerese Public Prosecutor's Office as part of their investigation into the incident. It is expected that other passengers and crew members will also be interviewed as part of the inquiry.

Speaking to Italian journalists from the hospital the morning after the incident, Cutfield said, "We didn't see it coming."

The investigation will examine whether the crew had left hatches open, potentially causing the boat to sink within minutes.

The yacht was carrying 10 crew members and 12 passengers when it was struck by tornado-strength winds during a violent thunderstorm at 5 a.m. on Monday, August 19.

The impact was so powerful that the vessel sank beneath the waves, vanishing completely in "just 60 seconds," leaving those on board in a desperate race for survival.

While 15 people managed to reach safety, including a British mother who bravely kept her baby daughter afloat in the pitch-dark waters, seven people remained unaccounted for.
