A Norway yacht charter holiday represents an ideal way of discovering this amazing country and its breath-taking natural beauty. Nature lovers on this Northern Europe Yacht Charter will feel as if they were sailing in paradise, cruising the fascinating fjords, taking in the impressive glaciers and the summer's midnight sun. Norway luxury yacht charters allow you to personalise your charter itinerary according to your wishes and desires, and see the places you always dreamt of in the comfort of your own motor yacht, sailing yacht or luxury superyacht. See below for a list of current Norway yacht charters avaiable now.
Norway's fjords are the most noticeable natural features and, together with the wide range of activities on offer, provide a great foundation for a creation of exciting charter itineraries for unspoiled cruising in protected waters. The endless leisure and sports activities to undertake during a Norway yacht holiday include fishing, cycling, horse-riding, sledging, canoeing and kayaking, hunting, hiking or wildlife safari tours. In addition, Norway offers its visitors excellent facilities and services, museums, galleries, cultural heritage and insight into the fascinating Sami culture.
Stavanger is the fourth largest city in Norway, boasting a combination of new and old historical influences and home to Norway's oldest cathedral: Stavanger Domkirke found in the centre of the city. Stavenger offers rich cultural life and plenty of opportunities for shopping, great dining or simply strolling the charming streets.Sun-riped tomatoes, lamb trotters and other exotic food traditions are abundant in pubs and restaurants with an international flavour - culinary magic with the best local ingredients. Let your taste buds enjoy new discoveries.
Bergen offers its visitors a vibrant cultural scene and is renowned for Bryggen Hanseatic Wharf, the Fish Market, and the surrounding mountains, as well as its fjords, including the breathtaking Hardangerfjord and Sognefjord. In Bergen you will find just about everything from tea rooms to gourmet fish restaurants, from small bistros to discotheques, bars and nightclubs. There are numerous boutiques and shops, great sightseeing possibilities and attractions that include the Floibanen Funicular, the Edvard Grieg Museum at Troldhaugen and Fantoft Stave Church.
Sognefjord is Norway's longest fjord, with Naeroyfjord, one of its arms, being on UNESCO's World Heritage List. Sognefjord is centrally situated at the heart of Fjord Norway and activities in its area include hiking the Jostedalsbreen Glacier or walking from cabin to cabin in Jotunheimen National Park. This hiking paradise has a large variety of routes to choose from, for both experienced and inexperienced adventure seekers. Sognefjord region is distinguished by its top-quality berries, fruit, lamb, game, mountain trout and goat's cheese.
HARDANGERFJORD
Situated not far from Bergen in the heart of Fjord Norway, the staggering Hardangerfjord is world's third largest fjord and second largest in Norway. It is well known for fruit trees blossoming in spring, the Vøringsfossen Waterfall and the Folgefonna Glacier. Here visitors on a Norway luxury charter yacht could incorporate a lovely Hardanger National Tourist Route hike or see the Barony Rosendal, a historic estate and manors.
Oslofjord is an inlet in the south-east of Norway, stretching from Torbjornskjaer and Faerder to Langesund in the South to Oslo in the North. It is not a fjord in the geological sense, but it refers to a wide range of waterways. Every single island in the innermost part of the fjord boasts its own identity and unique history. The most renowned islands include Hovedoya, Lindoya, Nakholmen, Bleikoya, Gressholmen, and Langoyene.
Oslo is Norway's capital with exciting city life and excellent access to the great outdoors. The most popular attractions comprise the Vigelandsparken Sculpture Park, the Opera House and the Viking Ship Museum. The Vigelandsparken Sculpture Park provides 63 acres of installations by international artists, as well as museums, restaurants and a panoramic view of the city. The modern downtown waterfront area has a fabulous blend of restaurants, museums and chic urban living.
Situated close to Stavanger, LYSEFJORD is renowned for the mountain formations of Kjerag and Preikestolen (The Pulpit Rock). Top activities for yacht charterers here would include a hike to the top of the Preikestolen or exploring the Kjerag Mountain. If you dare, you can stand on Kjeragbolten - a rock wedged in the mountain's crevasse, suspended above a 984-meter deep abyss. Hengjanefossen Waterfall is also a spectacular natural wonder to see.
THE NORTHERN LIGHTS
Vibrant colours and mystic tales spring to mind when thinking of 'The Northern Lights'. A must-see on a Norway superyacht charter, Northern Norway is a destination to include in your itinerary. Theoretically, you can see the northern lights all over Norway. However, the best places are above the Arctic Circle in Northern Norway.
Compared to its relatively modest land area, Norway's coastline is immense, if you include the mainland, the roughly 50,000 islands, the numerous fjords and all indentations it measures 21,925. This gives yacht charters a lot of opportunity for immense sailing and cruising pleasure in protected waters.
In the land of the midnight sun, you'll share your yacht charter experience with few, other than the local fishermen and several species of wildlife. Norway's most pristine cruising area is Lofoten, where rugged pinnacles protrude from the sea. The most visited fjords are Vestlandet, which in cases a long stretch of the Norwegian coastline. The landscape here will inspire the stereotypical images of Norway. Imagine yourself here, cruising through the incredible peaks, on your own yacht charter.
The best time to cruise the Scandinavian coasts, is from April to August, although, with the correct clothing and a heated charter boat, a western coast cruise of Norway, in off season, can be an equally unforgettable experience.
The types of yacht charter available in Scandinavia, Finland, Sweden and Norway include motor, sailing, bareboat charter, skippered, crewed yachts, catamaran, power boat, sailboat, and even the occasional luxury yacht charter.
A yacht charter in Scandinavia will leave you feeling breathless from the shear raw beauty the landscape provides.

We are back from our arctic adventure and had a wonderful time. Everything went perfectly: the boat was excellent, the captain and crew were positive and helpful beyond our expectations, Martin was a great guide, and the sun was shining almost every day. We saw all of the wildlife we expected, including the most unique narwhale sighting imaginable. We were so impressed that we are considering a trip to Antarctic in December M.P chartered HANSE EXPLORER in Norway and Svalbard Archipelago in August.

WHAT OUR GUESTS SAY ABOUT US
Epic week of powder during our ski tour and sail charter Thanks for everything!!!! We chartered the Arctic Ice for a week with boreal yachting, a 2012 Delphia 47′ sailboat. Boreal arranged for a great ski guide that traveled with us. There was amazing skiing peak after peak after peak in the lyngen alps. Ski touring started from quaint harbor villages and from the barren shore on a dingy. We also had Boreal cater the food. Fully stocked fridge with local salmon and even a night of reindeer cooked on board. After epic days of powder skiing we also caught the northern lights. This was a trip to remember. Whatever you can dream up Ivar and Espen from Boreal will make every effort to deliver!
Amazing catamaran whale day trip Went on a day whale watching trip with a family of 5 ages 22-60. Was an amazing experience and day. There was only another couple on our trip so it felt very intimate and we were glad we didn’t pick one of the bigger boat trips as the catamaran was able to get closer to the whales than the engine boats. The boat was lovely condition… ….The boat journey itself was amazing and the views spectacular and we were lucky enough to see a lot of humpbacks breaching and swimming near the boat. It was a lovely, intimate experience that we will never forget and I would happily repeat it and would recommend this strongly to anyone going to tromso!

testimonial
What our clients say.
"Karla and I had a wonderful trip on a great little boat, “Arctic Babe”, and your company provides a first class service to a most beautiful area of the world. Again many thanks."
"Our trip to Norway was absolutely outstanding. The landscape is stunning, the people incredibly friendly and welcoming, the sailing fantastic. The students responded with great courage and a spirit of adventure to each experience we threw at them. The boats were in good shape and met our expectations in every way. Thank you for all of your support, you were integral to a positive and smooth charter experience. All said, it was a remarkably positive experience and one we hope to replicate in a few years.”
“Yes, we had a great trip! We made it to the north cap and back within the week. Except one day with clouds, some fog and rain, the weather was also great. It’s such a great area for sailing that I really missed some more days to stop and look around. But this might be a good justification to come back again."
"Our charter experience was lovely. Rune was the best fit for our trip. What a genuine and thoughtful skipper. We were pleased with the boat and your operation overall."
"We really have had a wonderful holiday in Norway. North nature is wonderful and there are so many cute places in this country. Our friends have only great emotions, so we all thank you for your kind assistance."
"The holiday went perfectly. Excellent navigation, boat in perfect order as well as people to check in and check out."
"Very enjoyable, thank you. The scenery was fantastic with the fjords, mountains, patches of snow and painted houses, and it was really relaxing, sailing from place to place - tying up in small harbours or dropping anchor in peaceful lagoons. The boat, equipment and support was excellent. Really memorable, and suited us perfectly."
"We had an amazing adventure, it's such a beautiful place to sail and the people are so kind and helpful! The Arctic Sky was dry, warm and spacious above all easy to handle and very pleasant to sail. I'm planning to come again."
"It was great – yacht was in very good condition and we enjoyed a lot. Weather was very sunny and hot. We visited 2 key destinations which we liked: Rosendal and Lysefjord with the climb to the pulpit rock. Overall impression was very positive, special thanks to you for being helpful and responsive on all questions."
"Our trip was beautiful. We had good weather and always excellent seafood. Norway is a fantastic country."
“All perfect. Rich boat equipment for both navigation and life. Friendly weather. Sun first week, wind the second, and some drop of rain to remember us our latitude. Thanks to all”

Northwest Passage Expedition
In early June 2024, the Abel Tasman will set sail from Bergen, Norway, to embark on a 3-month expedition across the Northwest Passage. We’ll be sailing across the Atlantic Ocean to Iceland and then onto Greenland where we’ll spend a couple of weeks exploring the glaciers and wildlife on the western coastline. We then navigate our way through the Northwest Passage to finally arrive in Alaska by late August /early-September (subject to the ice). Our 9-person crew includes a film director and producer, explorers and adventurers, ocean divers, para-gliders, an expert sound recordist, and young scientists. We'll be exploring the region from the surface of the ocean from the yacht, under water with our scuba diving equipment, and from the air with our motorized paragliders.
Our goal is to raise awareness and understanding of the impacts of climate change on the Arctic Ocean, and the role the Arctic plays in the global climate system. We’re also partnering with leading scientists and universities to conduct research as we navigate through the Passage - this will include the first testing off micro-plastics on the Arctic Ocean between Greenland and Alaska. With 5 of our crew from Brazil, this will be thr first yacht crossing of the Northwest Passage by a Brazilian team; and we may also have the youngest ever captain to sail the Passage. We’ll be in regular communication with followers who will be able to engage with our activities and journey on a daily basis.

We sail to these destinations
The northbound voyage starts in Svolvær and the southbound voyage ends here. Svolvær is the capital of Lofoten with approx. 4400 inhabitants and the airport just 10 minutes outside the city centre. From this base we are in close proximity to some of the finest peak hiking mountains in Lofoten including – Blåtind, Rundfjellet, Torskman, Sautetind, Pilan, Kvittind and Geitgaljartind.
Andørja og Rolla
Andørja is Northern Europe's most mountainous island, with 20 peaks over 1000 metres. Langlitinden at 1277 metres is the highest mountain. Andørja and Rolla offer fantastic skiing that starts and ends at the shoreline. The islands are just 30 minutes outside Harstad in Ibestad municipality.
Norway's second largest island. The scenery here is varied with incredible high mountains, deep fjords and beautiful beaches. The possibilities for summit trips in summer and winter are second to none. The highest point is Breitinden at 1001 metres above sea level.
Kvaløya is located just outside Tromsø and is an island with a superb, mostly mountainous, landscape. Kvaløya is almost divided into three parts by the Ersfjorden and Kaldfjorden fjords. The highest mountain is Store Blåmann at 1044 metres above sea level.
The Arctic Haute Route runs along the Atlantic coast between Lofoten and Tromsø, dropping anchor at the best islands for summit tours in Arctic & Coastal Norway. Sailing aboard the magnificent M/S Sjøveien expedition ship that operated in Greenland and Svalbard in the past.
We sail to small places that larger boats can't access. Several of the destinations we visit have either no or limited accommodation or skiing infrastructure, which means we are alone in the mountains and make the first tracks.
Northbound route
Lofoten → Andørja → Senja → Kvaløya → Tromsø
Welcome to the most beautiful island kingdom in the world, Lofoten! M/S Sjøveien is ready to explore the coast of Arctic & Coastal Norway starting from Svolvær, the capital of Lofoten. In this picturesque fishing village there are many historical and cultural places to visit. If you only have a few hours before departure we recommend a walk along the quay and lunch with the splendid views from the jetty. If you want to experience more of Lofoten, tours and excursions can be arranged in advance.
M/S Sjøveien is docked at the Brekken pier next to Magic Ice and Vestfjord hotel, a few hundred meters south of the Hurtigrute quay. Check in from 18:00 and departure at 20:00. From Svolvær we are heading north, taking a leisurely sail into the Austnesfjord, to the heart of all classic routes in Lofoten where we anchor up for the night. Dinner from Arctic Adventure Cuisine is served at 20:30 and information - and guide meeting begins at 22:00. Get a good night's sleep before tomorrow's ski touring adventures!
First day of skiing! Breakfast is served from 07:30. In Lofoten and Austnesfjorden we use tenders to ferry guests to the base of various mountains. Alternative route options include Kvittind, Sauetind, Pilan, Torskmannen or other suitable mountains in the area. There are many possibilities and the days weather, conditions and group ability determine the chosen route.
The first day we plan trips with a difficulty level 3-4 on our scale up to 5. The ski touring hikes take 4-5 hours and are approx. 5-700 vertical metres in elevation. For those who want longer hikes and a faster pace, we can organise this. Independent excursions such as kayaking, fishing, sea eagle safaris, "vær-vandring" in Henningsvær or gallery visits to Lofotens Hus gallery og Kaviar Factory gallery can be arranged.
After a long day you can test the temperature in the fjord with a quick dip, or go straight to apres-ski and enjoy the great social atmosphere on board before dinner at 19:00. At 16:00 we sail from Lofoten setting a course north towards Andørja, dropping anchor before midnight. Ready for a new day of skiing!
We anchor in a fantastic fjord, observing the mountains we will climb later. Take the first coffee of the day on the deck and enjoy the view! Breakfast starts from 07:30. This is the day we'll explore the mountains of Andørja and Rolla. Andørja is Northern Europe's most mountainous island with more than ten peaks over 1000 metres, giving a wide array of ski touring possibilities.
We'll arrange trips with a difficulty level of 3-4 on our scale up to 5. The tours take 4-5 hours, and are approx. 6-700 vertical metres in elevation. If anyone in the group wants a longer hike, we suggest that one or more groups walk for 5+ hours, up to approx. 8-900 metres altitude. This gives a combined hike up two or more mountain peaks, with a difficulty level of 4 on our scale up to 5.
After the tour we return to our floating lodge and enjoy apres-ski with a local snack before dinner at 19:00.
During the afternoon we set sail to the north and, if we are lucky, get to experience the northern Lights. We drop anchor off Kvaløya just before midnight.
Breakfast is served from 07:30. Today's tours are organised based on the current weather and snow conditions. Our guides tailor make tours, dependent upon ability, for new beginners through to highly experienced skiers.
We'll arrange trips with a difficulty level of 3-4 on our scale up to 5. The tours take 4-5 hours, and are approx. 6-700 vertical metres in elevation. If anyone in the group wants a longer trip, we suggest that one group walks for 5-6 hours, with a difficulty level of 4-5 on our scale up to 5.
After a long day, you can test the temperature in the fjord with a quick dip. Alternatively go straight for after-ski and enjoy a local snack along with the good atmosphere onboard before dinner at 19:00. At 16:00 we sail south and arrive in Kvaløya at approx. 23:00. With luck, we'll experience the Northern Lights on the journey!
Your final day starts in spectacular fashion with a ski tour on Kvaløya. The guides organise tours that are right for you based on the day's weather and conditions. We take tenders to the shore, and immediately begin the summit treks from the shoreline.
We'll arrange trips with a difficulty level of 3-4 on our scale up to 5. The trips take approx. 3- 4 hours, and are approx. 700 vertical metres in height.
You'll check out from the ship in the morning before we land ashore, leaving the luggage that will be transported straight to the airport. After the tours guests are taken directly to the airport, arriving at 15:00. The luggage shipped earlier will be made available.
If you are tired and a little achy it is possible to explore Tromsø, go dog sledding or take in other sights in the surrounding area. If you have the energy to stay with us for a few extra days of adventure and treks, we'll arrange this in the area around Tromsø or Lyngen.
DAYS YOU WILL REMEMBER
Many of our guests return to join us again. We hope that a tour with us creates moments and days you'll remember for a lifetime. You'll always be welcome aboard and welcome back!

The yacht has a large lounge area on the upper deck for dining and socialising, as well as plenty of space on the deck. The bridge is open to guests for a coffee and a chat with the captain. To quickly bring guests to shore, we have two fast-moving Zodiacs and a crane.

Social, after-ski and plenty of 'hygge'
Imagine how incredible it is to sail into the fjords and to lie at anchor surrounded by the landscape of the next day's tour. Get up at sunrise and enjoy the first coffee out on the deck. Watch a couple of small fishing boats slowly pass by on their way to the fishing grounds, prepare for the weather and be on your way. In every aspect the Arctic Haute Route is a very unique form of Arctic alpine holiday in the north.
Being on an Arctic Haute Route voyage is much more than a raw nature experience with amazing ski-touring. The voyage along the Norwegian coast, gives you the chance to see some of the most beautiful places in the north. In addition, there is a great social environment and plenty of ‘hygge’ (playful happiness) where you can share skiing adventures, fun experiences and your "passion" for an active lifestyle with other like-minded people.
On a small, intimate ship you quickly get to know the others in the group, and after a day or two we are one big happy family! The Norwegian Adventure Company team are always available for any questions you may have along the way, and the ship's crew are attentive and helpful.
You’re in safe hands with our certified guides who are knowledgeable local area experts and you’ll certainly learn some new tricks. Every afternoon we serve local snacks from the region for après-ski, followed by dinner and local dining experiences from Arctic Adventure Cuisine.
During afternoons and evenings, light snow falls and sunsets are best experienced with others on the deck, where you feel the wind, weather and the sheer joy of being on tour.
How difficult are the summit ski tours?
The most common questions we get asked is how tiring and long our summit ski tours are and how steep the descents are. This is not easy to answer as for each individual there is a different experience of what is deemed to be simple or demanding. Our guides will always seek to adjust according to the group, but as it is a group tour a certain level is expected. You will be out ski touring 5-8 hours a day, the speed is lower than skimo, we want you to enjoy the views. For the decents you must be able to ski in terrain with 25-30 degrees angle. Avalanche risk, snow conditions and weather will determine where we ski. To try to give guidance we have graded our tours on a scale from 1 to 5 . Both Arctic Haute Route and Ski touring weekend is on level 3-5.
Up to 300 metres altitude | Easy summit trip that everyone can master. You must have ski-touring gear, avalanche gear and a hiking bag.
Up to 500 metres altitude | Summit trip for those with normal fitness. You must have ski-touring gear, avalanche gear and a hiking bag.
Up to 700 metres altitude | A more strenuous summit trip, for those in normal to good condition. You must have ski-touring gear, avalanche gear and a hiking bag.
Up to 1000 metres altitude | It is required that you are in good shape and that you regularly take long hikes. You must have ski-touring gear, avalanche gear and a hiking bag.
More than 1000 metres altitude | It is required that you are in very good condition and that you are used to walking several days on hilly terrain. You must have ski-touring gear, avalanche gear and a hiking bag. |
What to pack for the tour
Pack your ski gear in a large ski bag where you also have room for boots, helmets, skis, etc., and a large North Face bag (waterproof 100-140 L is recommended) for the rest of your gear and clothing. You can take the hiking bag and any boots on board the aircraft.
Bring mountain gear and clothing for three days of trips, and casual outfits for travel, dinner and social occasions. The atmosphere on board is relaxed and the cabins are small, so make a capsule collection and leave your fancy clothes at home!

Explore the breathtaking fjords on your yacht charter in norway.
There is nowhere in the world quite like Scandinavia; and there is nowhere in Scandinavia quite like Norway. A once-in-a-lifetime yacht charter destination, Norway is unbelievably beautiful.

From iconic fjords and glaciers to its towering mountain peaks and forested plains, there is nowhere in the world quite like Norway. And to make sure you check off all the things on your Scandinavian bucket list, when planning your next yacht charter in Norway, make sure you pick the time of year that works best with your itinerary.
Spring Spring in Norway is just as beautiful as the summer — except for the fact that the temperatures are much colder. That said, late spring is a good time to sail through Norway. After a cold Scandinavian winter, spring in Norway means all the streams, brooks, rivers and waterfalls flow freely with the snowmelt, and the country’s vast population of wildlife come out of hiding and start roaming through the forests. This is also the time of year when the trees and flowers start blossoming again, so the scenery you’ll sail past will be nothing short of stunning.
Summer This is definitely the most popular time of year yacht charters in Norway to sail through the fjords, and that’s only because the weather is absolutely perfect. During the day, the temperatures will be warm and sunny, and there will be so much to see — from glaciers and forests, to animals, beautiful landscapes, and if you go far enough north, the “land of the midnight sun,” where the sun never sets.
Fall Early fall is a great time for a Norway yacht charter. During this time of year, the trees will just start to lose their leaves and turn multiple shades of red, orange and gold. You won’t see as many yachts around this time of year, which has its own merits; you get beautiful Norway all to yourself.
Why is Yachting in Norway so Spectacular?
Norway is filled with dramatic landscapes
From seemingly impossible fjords and vast green space to glaciers, ice fields, mountains, and rocky coasts, Norway yacht charters are nothing short of natural wonders. Because of its diverse landforms, its beauty rivals some of the world’s most raved-about travel destinations. Adding to its intrigue, these Arctic landscapes are just a backdrop for Norway’s ever-growing population of wildlife: polar bears, reindeer, musk oxen, and schools of salmon, to name a few.
The fjords alone are reason enough to visit
Who doesn’t want to see the fjords of Norway? Flanked by steep cliffs, mountains, and glaciers, the fjords are naturally beautiful; a result of their narrow, steep-sided crystalline rock walls that stretch from 1,640 feet below sea level to 4,593 feet above it. Some of Norway’s fjords have been dubbed a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The sun always rises
In northern Norway, above the Arctic Circle, you can see the sun 24 hours a day. In the summer, “sunrise” is at midnight, leaving plenty of time for sailing, climbing, and exploring.
It’s one of the best spots to see the Northern Lights
Best spotted in autumn and winter, the Northern Lights are a sight to be seen in northern Norway. Attracting travelers from around the world, these cloud-like lights can only be seen at night. The Northern Lights come in shades of green, pink and violet, and look like a light show dancing across the evening sky.
In Norway, adventure is encouraged
For Norwegians especially, nature is a part of life — one they have a passion for exploring. As a result, Norway has become one of the world’s top adventure tourism destinations. Depending on the seasons, travelers and locals alike can be found hiking, cycling, white-water rafting, dog-sledding, skiing, snowmobiling, sailing and more. They do this for good reason; Norway’s most beautiful assets are its stunning landscapes.

Guide to Norway
An historic and colourful destination which calls out to all adventurers
Home to some of the best scenery to be found the world over, Norway treats her visitors to truly awe-inspiring views as they make their passage through her coastlines and fjords. Flanked by steep, dramatic mountains, the mainland also serves as a source of endless inspiration.
With an island count comfortably in the tens of thousands, and a distinctly vibrant city life, Norway presents a wealth of opportunities when it comes to compiling a uniquely memorable charter itinerary. Indeed, as a firmly established yachting hub with a centuries-old marine tradition, Norway offers visitors the chance to enjoy the most sublime sights of Scandinavia both when underway and at anchor. A favoured destination amongst expedition yachts , Norway also benefits from a number of quiet bays which offer charterers the opportunity to vacation in total peace.
Providing something of a bustling alternative to the rolling rural landscapes surrounding the fjords, the city of Bergen is defined by the cosmopolitan vibe which pervades its historic streets. Located on the west coast of Norway, the city is populated by a number of boutique stores and restaurants as well as a number of quaint buildings preserved as part of a World Heritage Site. Due to being one of the smallest cities in Europe, visitors are able to easily take in Bergen’s various charms in a relatively short period of time.
Getting out of Bergen and back into the iconic fjords is nicely straightforward, and it is here that the sheer tranquility of Norway can be felt. With over fifteen thousand miles of coastline being inhabited by less than five million, visitors are afforded a vast amount of space to enjoy their company and surroundings in a totally uninterrupted fashion. Expertly maintained, the Geiranger and Nærøy fjords are UNESCO-protected and boast an assortment of cascading waterfalls, mountain peaks, and even glaciers.

Norway Yacht Charter
Norway Luxury Yacht Charter
A gateway to adventure, incredible natural beauty, and fascinating culture
With immense fjords, majestic mountains, and towering glaciers, Norway is a destination like no other. Postcard-perfect scenery and rustic villages nestled in sweeping green valleys offer some of the finest landscapes anywhere in the world. And with the world’s second largest coastline, exploring this splendid destination by yacht is the perfect choice to see everything this Nordic sanctuary has to offer.
Cruise during the summer months of May through July and you’ll experience the glowing Midnight Sun, where the sun glimmers across the land 24 hours a day and never fully sets. At midnight, watch your yacht glide through the waters, illuminated by the ethereal twilight. A unique experience you won’t soon forget.
Navigate your way through the calm waters of this kingdom of fjords past steep mountains, cascading waterfalls, and massive glaciers. With secluded anchorages all to yourself, glorious isolation will be your only companion. For those seeking a little more adventure, entertainment can be found on shore with cycling, hiking, zip lining, or from above by taking a helicopter tour. And foodies will delight in the selection of incredibly fresh seafood available at restaurants on shore, or as prepared by your yacht’s chef.
Cruising Norway delivers a much more diverse experience than that of the well-traveled seas of the Mediterranean and the Caribbean , so be prepared for something different: a spellbinding adventure in the heart of nature.
STAVANGER TO LYSEFJORD
Arrive in Stavanger to meet your yacht, but before embarking on your voyage, stroll the town’s boutiques and shops and enjoy a celebratory cocktail as you catch your first glimpse of Norway’s spectacular scenery. Stopover at one of the more popular tourist spots in the fjords, the island of Hidle, known for its exotic gardens full of blossoming plants and palm trees. Enjoy a delicious meal ashore or dine on the deck of your yacht.
PULPIT ROCK & HAUGESUND
Adventure-seekers can head ashore and hike up to Norway’s famous Pulpit Rock. This three and a half hour trek is somewhat challenging, but rewards the experienced hiker with incredible outlooks and panoramic views from atop the steep cliff. Return to your yacht and make your way to Haugesund, a young, vibrant city that hosts several festivals every year. History enthusiasts can tour the Viking Farm, and anglers can choose from several excellent spots to drop a line.
AKRAFJORDEN TO ROSENDAL
As you cruise to Akrafjorden, relax and absorb the sweeping scenery as you prepare for your next adventure. For an exhilarating on-land experience, a visit to Trolljuv Adrenalin Park offers thrill-seekers the chance to zip line across the Trolljuv Gorge and bungee jump from the bridge. When you return to the calm respite of your yacht, don’t miss the view of Langfoss waterfall, which cascades a total of 2,008 feet in all. An exquisite anchorage awaits you at Rosendal, where you can enjoy a compelling range of leisure activities.
ROSENDAL TO LOFTHUS
Continue your voyage with a scenic passage that begins at Norheimsund, where you’ll find the Steinsdalsfossen waterfall. Then cruise to the Kalrassen waterfall, where your yacht can get close enough that you’ll be able to touch the cascading water from the deck. End up at the port of Lofthus, where you can head ashore for elegant dining at the Hotel Ullensvang.
LOFTHUS TO EIDFJORD
Take advantage of the helipad at the Hotel Ullensvang and charter a helicopter for a truly elevated, bird’s eye view of the Folgefonna Glacier and the Trolltunga viewpoint. For yet another adrenaline-packed experience, head to the Trolltunga Zippen, a 2,000 ft. zip line that descends its riders 650 ft. to the lake below. Return to the comfort of your yacht and unwind with a cocktail on deck before cruising onward to Eidfjord. It’s here you’ll find one of the most visited tourist attractions in Norway, the famous Voringsfossen waterfall, where the pristine water has a free fall drop of about 475 feet.
EIDFJORD TO TYSNESOY
With all the heart-racing activities Eidfjord has to offer, it’s a thrill-seeker’s paradise. Downhill cycling through the Hardangervidda National Park is sure to get your blood pumping. Or for a truly unique experience, White Water Jump is an exhilarating combination of abseiling, zip lining, and aerial acrobatics high above a rushing river. After all that activity, your reposeful home on the water awaits, ready to transport you to a splendid anchorage off Tysnesoy Island.
TYSNESOY TO BERGEN
Tysnesoyis the perfect spot to splash around with your yacht’s water toys, try your hand at fishing, or visit a local salmon farm to enjoy a catch-of-the-day that doesn’t get much fresher. When you’re ready for boutique shopping and entertaining nightlife, cruise to the city of Bergen, an ideal ending to this incredible journey.

The Kingdom of Norway (Norwegian Kongeriket Norge). This country, occupies the western part of the Scandinavian Peninsula in Northern Europe. Its name originates from the Old Norse word Nor?rvegr – “way to north." Norway is a great sailing destination, surrounded by three seas: the Barents Sea to the northeast, the Norwegian – to the West and Northen Sea – to the south-west it has a lot to offer to most experienced sailors. Norway has a long and narrow territory with 30% covered by forests, many rivers and lakes. More than half of the country's territory is occupied by mountains.
Only Norway yacht charter vacation can offer a unique blend of gorgeous scenery, diverse wildlife and spectacular Nothern Lighst watching. Explore drammatic northern nature and spectacular landscapes form the comfort of your yacht or catamaran.
General description: The kingdom of Norway, one of the largest countries in Europe, spreads its borders along the North Sea, the Norwegian Sea and the Arctic Ocean. Norway yacht charter is an ideal way to explore magnificent fjords, which are unique geological formations stretching deep into surrounding mountains, indenting its rugged coastline, present the most spectacular features. Norway is also the home of the Nobel Peace Prize.
Places of interest:
The capital, Oslo, is a vibrant city centered round a harbor and guarded by the 14-th century castle. The center of Oslo is home to the Royal Palace, Viking Ship Museum, a lot of parks and galleries, as well as other public institutions. Rent a boat in Norway and discover the area close to Oslo, that is well built-up, with bustling harbors, guarded by fortresses as early as 1643. But further south the scenery is like post cards depicting dramatic towns and serene villages with quaint clapboard houses and boats galore.
Bareboat charter in Oslofjorden area will bring you to the oldest settlements dated back to Stone and Bronze Ages. Hanko is one of the islands in this area. Its harbor town has the oldest naval museum in the world, established in 1853. Although it sits on a bare rock, facing the fjord, its sheltered eastern side is well forested, providing a much-favored harbor and anchorage. The Norwegian Yachting Association was founded here in 1882. Since then the island has been a venue for national regattas, sailing races and world championship events. Norway yacht charter in July will give you a chance to see most popular Hanko Regatta that collects over 200 boats.
Southern Norway bareboat charter
The southern coast ( Oslo and Bergen ), lined with silver-sand beaches set against a backdrop of high mountain plateau, and white-painted houses in fish-farming villages, is known as the sunny side of Norway and summer paradise for holiday-makers. Renting a boat here you will find numerous harbors with all necessary amenities.
Western Norway yacht charter
The long lacy western coastline borders the North Sea. This part of the country is a true land of fjords, waterfalls, glaciers and secluded beaches. Bergen is the second biggest town in Norway and offers number of yachts for charter. Back in 10170 Bergen was the largest town in the country and the capital of a region that included Iceland, Greenland and parts of Scotland. Even after Oslo became capital of Norway in 1299, Bergen continued to grow as a trading center, especially for the exports of dried fish. Now it is a true center of shipping. Bergen is a World Heritage City and the official residence of the king of Norway.
Northern Norway
Northern Norway ( Tromso and Lofoten ) has been called as "the land of excitement" or "the land of the high flames". These expressions capture the essence of it - the shimmering Northern Lights of winter and the midnight sun that shines day and night in summer. With bareboat charter, you will be able to explore its unspoiled coast that consists of a multitude of islands, fjords, snow-clad peaks and glaciers. The northernmost point in Norway, Nordkapp (the North Cape), is a place of pilgrimage for all-time traveler. Sheer 1,014-ft (309-m) high perpendicular cliffs form this most amazing landmark as Europe's most northerly point.
Rent a boat in Eastern Norway
The route between Tonsberg and Tjome, known as World's End, is only 19 miles (30 km) but plenty of time needed to explore this stunning archipelago. There are impressive coves, narrow sounds, old skipper's houses and boathouses, also a string of inviting holiday resorts. Bridges connecting the larger islands and the sea is never far away for a refreshing swim. Mountains, valleys and lakes dominate this incredible landscape. It has a special appeal for rock climbers and hikers: from the easy alpine pastures in Alvdal to demanding peaks in the national parks.
Festivities. There are four defined seasons in Norway and "every season has its charm". And Norway finds its enjoyment in each of them by creating a number of festivals: snow and ice sculpture tournament, ski- kite event, white-water canoe racing, dog-sledding, boat festivals - fairs and games all the way along the coast.
Although sometimes wind or cold, rain or snow, can bring those pleasures indoors (Jazz, folklore and dance festivals, film premieres and art exhibitions), but nothing can spoil high spirit, because festivals are important part of the nation's cultural life.
While on the yacht charter in Norway do not miss its vibrant cuisine rich in fresh seafood (smoked, pickled or dried fish including whale meat and seal) and wild game (reindeer, elk, pheasant, etc.). Although over the years the local restaurants have become incredibly diverse, including exotic international meals in the menu, Norwegian specialties, such as lamb and cabbage stew or reindeer medallions or marinade of rabbit, cannot be missed. Other traditional favorites include cured smoked sausage and pheasant breast served with mushroom sauce. One should not forget Norwegian most famous cheeses, best served on Ryvita crisps. And for desert try fruits and especially berries (gooseberries or black- and red currants).
Climate in Norway
Much of the country is habitable due to the warming effects of the Gulf Stream. It comfortably creates mild winters and cool summers on the west coast. The south and west of the country have the highest average temperature 72F (22C) in Oslo in July. Norway is a vast country with wide variations in its geographical and climate conditions. Both at sea and in the mountains the wind and weather can change rapidly, thus it is advisable to consult local people with knowledge of the sea before setting forth into unknown waters.
Magnificent scenery combined with the wide range of outdoor activities (whale and seal safaris; cave walking; dog-sledging, mountain climbing, etc.) - that what makes Norway so appealing to adventurous travelers. Norway has enormously long coastline interspersed with fjords and islands, making boating a pure haven. And the most rewarding way to explore the remote and enticing parts of this unique country is definitely by sailing. The western coastline provides the most convenient and safe mooring for the boats. Although anchorage is free-of-charge in Norway, there are certain (and sometimes complicated) specifics about mooring and berths. That's why it is better to let experts deal with it. No matter how well-organized your sailing event looks like, it is always wise and safe to consult and present your vacation dream to professionals and let "12 Knots" do what they are good at.

You Can Rent The Below Deck Adventure Yacht Mercury For Yourself
But it will cost a pretty penny.
Captain Kerry Titheradge and his crew head to the chilly fjords of Norway in Below Deck Adventure Season 1 . They will be sailing along the picturesque landscapes and through dangerously narrow passageways in a super yacht by the name of Mercury . Built in 2001 by Amels shipyard in Holland, the 164-foot motor yacht will travel to locations like the Valdall Caves and the seaside town of Andalsnes — all while navigating the icy and unpredictable waters of Norway.
Just as in past seasons, you can rent the Below Deck Adventure yacht . But it’s available for the tune of approximately $168,000 a week before expenses, and in high season can go up to around $183,000 a week. The yacht can fit up to 12 guests and 12 crew members, and it features five cabins: a master suite, two double cabins, and two twin cabins. Other amenities include a gym, a deck jacuzzi, two waterskis, kayaks, and fishing equipment.
Titheradge explained to TV Insider that Amels makes really sturdy yachts — but they do come with some downsides. “Amels yachts are built to go anywhere in the world. They are built in the arctic Overbuilt so the advantage of that is it’s strong. The disadvantage is it’s heavy and slow,” he said. “My engines are not as powerful as in a boat [ Below Deck Mediterranean captain] Sandy Yawn is running, which is a lighter boat with big engines that are more forgiving and use engine horsepower to get herself out of trouble. With my boat, you have to plan for things far ahead. It’s not going to stop straight away. You have to stop far ahead before you do something.”
Titheradge himself has nearly 30 years of sailing experience, so he’s more than ready to sail the Nordic seas. Joining him are chef Jess Condy , described by Bravo as a perfectionist who clashes with the other crew members when it’s clear there’s a lack of provisions in Alesund, Norway. There’s also chief stew Faye Clarke, who’s traveled the world for more than a decade but is tasked with the challenge of getting the whole team working together. Kasie Faddah is a stew from Seattle who left the Mormon church for the open seas, but she struggles to get along with everyone in her department. The other stew, Oriana Schneps, has a tense relationship with Faddah, who she worked with previously. Meanwhile, bosun Lewis Lupton has a brewing romance with Schneps, while deckhands Nathan Morely, Michael Gilman, and Kyle Dickard grow close and then clash when situations get heated and guest expectations aren’t met.
“Pretty much every staff member except for one was challenging. Everyone is coming from different places, backgrounds, and ages. They all have their own intentions, and we all have to find our own footing,” said Titheradge . “Understand a brand new boat in a totally new country. That puts pressure on everybody. For me, it’s understanding that everyone is human. Everyone gets a pass, but if you start taking my kindness for weakness, that’s when I change gears.”
It’s certainly a lot of drama on the high seas. And while you might not be able to afford to rent Mercury yourself, at least you can enjoy watching everything unfold on deck from the comfort of your living room.
