Many, many boats listed with POP, many, many individuals as brokers with POP. Most of their boats were rather ratty, their responses weren't timely, I never looked at any of their boats physically. IDK what their business model is, but I wasn't impressed. | | | 29-12-2020, 09:02 | | | (to FL) and again advised the broker (a different one) what day they would be here to see the boat. Well, in the meantime the broker scheduled himself to accompany a potential buyer for another boat on a sea trial, and instead of getting another broker to show the boat or simply letting the couple come to our house (boat is on a behind out house), he simply said that they would have to wait! Now, the prospective buyers for my boat had already advised the broker that they had already purchased their ticket, and that it was non-refundable. Didn't matter. This couple eventually was able to track me down after their return to , to let me know what was going on with my broker. They also told me and the broker that they were cash buyers. Needless to say, I blew up at this final one and ended my arrangement with POP Yachts & RVs. They are, in my personal experience, a horrible company to deal with and I would not recommend anyone to them. | | | 29-12-2020, 09:21 | | Boat: 38" Sailboat | . Again look at the listings. All the listings should have good pictures and information, the boat should be neat and orderly in the pictures and not a mess. If the listings are subpar, you will not get many buyers and most will be bottom feeders. This should allow you to narrow your selection. Then go talk with the brokers, bring a binder with pictures and information on your boat, and an idea of what you would like to sell it for. Talk to everybody on your list before making a decision. When you talk to them try to find one you like and feel us honest and not just blowing smoke. They should tell you everything you will be expected to do in the selling process also. Brokers though are a lot like car salesmen, most should have their business license on display, and when you complete your deal everything should go through a reputable escrow agent. | | | 29-12-2020, 09:49 | | | are boats the owner tries to sell himself - no luck - mostly because overpriced or in bad shape - boats a professional broker wont take - POP takes them - jacks the price up - does take a lot of pics and waits for an ill informed buyer comes along - you might get a deal - but read the reviews - the whole enterprise sounds unprofessional - regular brokers are bad enough - these guys seem to take the incompetence to an entire new level - run away. | | | 29-12-2020, 11:04 | | | and somehow convince the owner that what they listed the boat for plus Pop's commision is a reasonable asking price !!! I have my boat listed on Ebay, CL, here on Cruisers Forum, Yachtworld, Sailboat Listings and POP. None of these listing agents, including POP, have altered my price, pics or description. Stating that POP "jacks the price" or takes mostly "overpriced or in bad shape" are both erroneous in my case. POP has sent me weekly viewer reports for probably a year, and they are quite detailed. It is a little annoying for browsers on POP to have to enter an to see all the photos, but this is propably how to watch which boats you click and peruse. Ebay does something similar on my listing, because they show me how many views and watchers I have. POP has now found a buyer, facilitated the buyer and his surveyor aboard, has collected an escrow deposit, and scheduled the sea trial and due date. My treasured is about to accompany the new owners around the world, and doing Ted Brewer's design proud. | Thread Tools | | Rate This Thread | : | Posting Rules | post new threads post replies post attachments edit your posts is are code is are are are | Similar Threads | Thread | Thread Starter | Forum | Replies | Last Post | | Welschrisby | Cruising News & Events | 27 | 28-06-2020 12:31 | | deckofficer | Flotsam & Sailing Miscellany | 6 | 15-01-2012 02:33 | | David_Old_Jersey | Construction, Maintenance & Refit | 11 | 23-10-2011 11:13 | Privacy Guaranteed - your email is never shared with anyone, opt out any time. - Forum Listing

POP Yachts opinions.Hello, Have anyone sold or bought a boat through POP Yachts, LLC? I am questioning how legit and good they are. Any issues to be aware of? Thanks. They're a broker so...beware. IMO, you're much better off selling it yourself. Yeah, I agree. I have my boat listed on boat trader. I’m selling my CC to buy a microskiff. I thought about expanding my options if they are legit and have good reviews. What they say is too good to be true, if you know what I mean. I am looking to see what the guys on here have to say about them or any broker. Look over at The Hull Truth. Lots of threads about them and none are positive. No positive reviews? That says a lot. Thanks. I have purchased a boat through them and it was a really smooth experience. On the other hand, I would not sell a boat through them as they essentially take 10% of the sale to put on boat trader and similar websites. I initially had mine listed with them but after months I took it to south FL and sold with a broker in 2 days. I would think a lot of negative reviews are those that were frustrated on their individual boat sale (ex. someone who thinks their 1990 starcraft with a 70 hp 2 stroke Johnson is 10,000) jlindsley said: I have purchased a boat through them and it was a really smooth experience. Curiously, I just got an email from a Pop Yachts scammer broker in Bradenton, and the boat is on Craigslist in Maine. Wanted to get my phone number so he could "call and explain the process." Said he wanted to market the boat and charge any fees to the buyer. So, Shane, the answer is a resounding "NO."
However, whether POP Yachts is a scam or not probably isn't actually that interesting for most consumers out there. Instead, what most of them are really interested in is whether POP Yachts can be trusted to provide them with their desired service or not, in which case, the answer is at best a "maybe, maybe not.".
he explained the seller does all the leg work by filling out all the details and everything. They also need to submit a ton of photos. The only thing POP does is help with is submitting the offer and the paperwork during a sale. basically POPS hosts your for sale ad and guides you thru the paperwork process.
POP Yachts lists it for $90000. Thats how they make their commission. The difference is pop yachts goes out and takes detailed pics of every single surface of the boat - well over 100 pictures. the buyer will have a much better idea of the boat than my 20 odd CL pictures. They also check the specs and go over them.

I never had an actual sales transaction with Pop Yachts, but when searching for my cabin cruiser I spoke with them and was added to the sales email list, with requisite filters for my idea candidate. It was great getting so many boat candidates emailed to me daily, but probably more than half did not fit the filter criteria I specified ...

How does Pop Yachts work? I am looking ot buy a cheap boat off of Craiglist or similar. I have heard that Pop Yachts cruises those type of websites, and hits up owners to list with them with the propisiton that Pop Yachts will charge a commission if they find the buyer, but no commission if the seller finds the buyer themselves.

The POP agents maintained contact with me several times each day until we found a solution around the situation. Without the glitch, from day 1 to possession would have been 7 or 8 days; with the glitch it was 10 days. I'll 100% use POP in the future! Date of experience: July 26, 2024. Reply from popsells.com.

Pop Yachts is a legit broker. They just sold our 33' Baja Outlaw in less than 2 months. We listed it on Craigslist and Pop Yachts contacted us to Broker it for us. We listed it with them, but the agreement was such that if we sold it ourselves we paid no Broker Fee. We received weekly reports showing how many hits their ads received, where they ...
Pop Yachts usefullness is very uneven and one of their standard strategys is to find listings on "sailboatlistings.com" that haven't sold and somehow convince the owner that what they listed the boat for plus Pop's commision is a reasonable asking price !!! The online listings they have for sailboats are amazingly uninformative .

Pop RVs is owned by a company called Pop Yachts. Pop Yachts was established in 2009 and has a successful history of selling boats and yachts online through their marketplace. The team behind Pop Yachts knows how to make sales happen by bringing the buyer and the seller together. In 2015, they decided to open Pop RVs.
Let me be quite clear - every single positive review of this company on this website is a fake planted by POP Yachts. This company is a scam, management are lying thieves, and the whole thing is a racket to squeeze money out of dim-bulb boat buyers stupid enough to but lousy vessels that can't be sold by normal methods.
