Aluminum Strength

With the up front caveat that there is no one “best” material to use when building a boat as they all have their own lists of pros and cons, when you set about building a boat to take on the extremes that Mother Nature can throw at you when crossing the world’s oceans “short handed” with just 1 or 2 people and doing so with the highest safety and comfort, the choice becomes more clear. As with many other choices when designing and building such a boat, this is an extremely personal decision and what counts the most is that YOU have the highest possible confidence in your choice and can set to sea knowing that your boat will be able to endure much more than you.

The reasons of choosing aluminium as your hull material

xpm-series-content-img-1

Fuel Efficiency

Fuel efficiency has become one of the most important subject for boat owners and sailors not only because of high expenses but also they pay attention to the environment and nature. Naval Yachts sees these facts and concentrates in new Technologies and engineered studies together with the technical universities and institutions to find and offer solutions.

We use aluminum. A superior material. Light and 100% recyclable. ( Aluminium Yachts )

We have hybrid solutions in powertrain. We have serial hybrid boats launched already with the latest technology.

We use light materials in interior. We make our calculations to reach a light but stable boat in the end.

We design and use the most efficient hull forms in order to get best results with minimum water resistance under the waterline.

Earth is a great planet to discover and experience on a boat. As long as you can. As the sailors would like to discover and see more places, they need enough speed, consume less and bigger fuel tanks.

Our boats can give the chance the sailors to cruise faster and longer without refueling.

Mission Safety / Safety First

At Naval Yachts, safety is our paramount mission. We prioritize safety first in every aspect of our aluminum yacht production. From design to construction, our unwavering commitment to ensuring the security and well-being of our passengers and crew is at the core of our values

Full Customisation

Naval Yachts is specialised in custom boat building. All our boats are unique and can not be repated because every owner has his own dream on board.

Thanks to our design and engineering team, we can make modifications easily and our experienced production and assemly team can produce and apply these modifications.

The reasons of choosing aluminium as your hull material;

  • Extremely easy to work with using regularly available tools such as carbide tipped saws and router bits and to fabricate with readily available welding and bending equipment.  CNC cutting with plasma, waterjet or laser works particularly well with aluminium which allows custom designs to be as affordably built as production boats with the dramatic savings in labour time and costs.
  • On a like to like boat comparison aluminum boat hulls weigh about 30% less than steel and less weight means a more easily powered hull which pays us back in reduced fuel costs for the life of the boat.
  • Our previous all steel sailboat taught us the valuable lesson that robustly built metal boats do not flex or move under the stress and strain of the seas and everything and everyone onboard benefits from boat parts that stay water tight because they don’t move and from the quiet of cabinetry that isn’t being flexed.
  • eXtremely low exterior maintenance time and costs when left unpainted down to the waterline as we will do.  Left unpainted, bare aluminium quickly forms a hard outer layer of aluminium oxide which prevents any corrosion which will be a major cost savings throughout the life of the boat.
  • Highest strength to weight ratio of any boat building material other than composites.
  • Future modifications or repairs of damaged parts of the hull can be easily done with either onboard equipment if you know how to weld or by pretty much any welders you will find in any country.
  • While steel may have higher puncture resistance in some situations, aluminium is the most pliable and ductile of any other boat material meaning that when (never if) we hit something the aluminium will bend but not break or crack.  By using gradually thicker aluminium hull plating from the 6mm we have on our decks to ultimately 16mm below the waterline and 25mm thick at the keel our hull will most likely see us through pretty much any scenario.
  • Relatively easy to control corrosion or rot compared to steel, wood, fiberglass or composites.
  • Aluminium is very “transparent” in terms of letting  you see any damage that does exist as there is nothing which hides below the surface of unpainted aluminium.
  • It varies somewhat between different world markets but aluminium boats tend to have a higher resale value than other materials because of all the advantages above.

WHY DYNAMIQ?

Forward thinking design, innovative naval architecture, highest engineering standards, top-quality steel & aluminium construction, ocean-going range, smart pricing.

Forward thinking design

Dynamiq's unique exteriors look impressive and fresh and express the sporty, chic soul of our yachts. They not only look great, but also perform at the top of their class and lend owners a sense of exclusivity and pride.

Innovative naval architecture

Dynamiq’s high efficiency is based on innovative technologies in modern naval architecture: fast displacement hull lines, the Hull Vane under the stern, and Sleipner curved fin stabilizers. Completely drawn by leading naval architects in the Netherlands, all Dynamiq yachts feature a round-bilge shape for remarkably low resistance and low fuel consumption, while providing seaworthiness and comfort with long waterline length and low centre of gravity.

Highest engineering standards

Each Dynamiq yacht is by definition safe, comfortable and environmentally friendly in accordance with the strictest RINA and BV Commercial Class standards, prestigious Comfort and Green Star Plus notations, Large Yacht Code 4 (LY4) compliancy and manning standards. This not only makes our vessels ultra-safe and almost silent, but also means they can be chartered to offset the cost of ownership.

Top-quality steel & aluminium construction

Only certified marine-grade steel, aluminium and Sealium are used for Dynamiq hulls and superstructures. In comparison with composite hulls, they are much quieter, easier to repair and have higher trade-in value due to the fact that they have a very long service life.

Ocean-going range

Dynamiq yachts are designed with an ocean-going capability in mind, which means owners have the opportunity to enjoy multiple seasons during the year (say Mediterranean and Caribbean) and visit remote locations with no re-fueling infrastructure. Equipped with high-capacity marine fridges and freezers, cold garbage stores, separate laundry facilities, plenty of storage space, generous fresh water tanks and powerful water-makers, Dynamiq yachts provide autonomy at sea in complete comfort.

Smart pricing

Combining Dutch engineering with production facilities in the one of the biggest Turkish shipbuilding hubs of Antalya Free Zone means Dynamiq can offer North European standards and quality craftsmanship at significantly reduced prices. Being pioneers in the superyacht industry, Dynamiq also has an Online Configurator where clients can customize their yachts in a few clicks and see in real time how the price and delivery times vary.

Turkish luxury yacht firm to open new construction facility in July

Alia

Alia Yachts, which launched the 60m superyacht Samurai, is to triple the size of its shipyard.

Luxury boat builder Alia Yachts plans to open a new construction facility at its Antalya site on Turkey’s south coast later this month (July).

The new facility will boast a total indoor area of 16,000 sqm and include five construction halls; each measuring up to 90m in length. Two of the halls will have a height of 22m; enabling the use of cranes to assemble large yachts – even those equipped with radar masts – entirely under cover.

The existing facility, covering an area of about 8,000 sqm and comprising three construction sheds, specialist workshops and a design studio, has itself been expanded in recent years. The investment was made to supply bespoke interiors to other yacht builders worldwide; including firms in The Netherlands and Australia.

Triple the size of the shipyard

The new complex will triple the size of the shipyard, making Alia Yachts one of the biggest yacht-building facilities in Turkey.

Alia’ founder and president Gökhan Çelik said the investment will help the firm achieve three key goals. “First, it will increase our production capacity and allow us to work simultaneously on more projects. Second, it will enable us to accommodate larger projects than our existing sheds currently allow. And, last but not least, it will help grow our focus on the refit sector.”

Currently under construction at Alia’s Lloyds’s certified site is the 32.4m Nozomi II, which is the sistership to Virgen del Mar; described by the company as a “pocket superyacht”. Also under construction are two other motor-yacht projects plus a further three under final contract negotiations.

‘Pocket superyacht’

The builders, engineers, shipwrights, technicians, electricians, mechanics, welders and laminators all share invaluable insight into solutions for even the most complex yacht concepts, according to the company.

Alia Yachts was founded in 2008 by Çelik, together with his business partner Ömer Koray. Its purpose-built facilities are equipped to cater for luxury yacht construction in various materials up to 80m in length.

Meanwhile, in 2016, Alia launched the 60m superyacht Samurai . The vessel’s exterior was designed by Omega Architects and the interior was created by UK-based company Redman Whiteley Dixon with naval architecture by Van Oosanen.

Turkey is the world's third-largest builder of superyachts.

Turkey, known for hot baths, baklava and fine leather goods, is also a serious contender in yacht building.  But since marketing is not one of its strong suits, the country could stay the best-kept secret in the superyacht world. A rich maritime heritage, pedigree craftsmanship and low wages have created a niche that positions the country at the heart of yacht production.

The collection of brands dotted along Turkey’s Mediterranean coastline include Turquoise, Akyacht, Alia, Vicem, Sirena, Dunya and Bilgin, along with lesser-known builders. After it’s delivered later this year, Dream Symphony —a magnificent 462.7-foot schooner built by Dream Ship Victory—will become the largest private sailing yacht in the world, knocking the Dutch-built Black Pearl off the podium.

There have been some impressive names to come out of Turkey, including the sailing yacht Maltese Falcon , the 348-ft. Dream, 253-foot Go , and the 236-foot Axioma , among dozens of others.

Turkey is the world's third-largest builder of superyachts.

The 279-foot Victorious was delivered earlier this summer to its new owner, and made its public debut at the Monaco Yacht Show.  Courtesy Akyachts

At the Monaco Yacht Show two weeks ago, Bilgin displayed the first of its 263 series, Tatiana . Its interior includes walls and furniture of rich Macassar ebony, eucalyptus and different marbles, and the exterior has a sleek, sexy profile. Lead designer Emrecan Ozgun of Unique Yacht Design said his firm went all out to avoid “high-dosage design clichés” throughout the boat, making it one of the most contemporary, elegant launches this year.

Another major launch at Monaco was Victorious , a 279-footer from Akyachts, a new yard that the owner established to build the sleek superyacht. London-based H2 Yachts did the contemporary interior design, putting paid to the notion that Turkey’s designs lag behind the European builders.

“It’s now accepted that Turkey ranks third in the world for yacht construction in terms of total feet, after Italy and Holland,” Alexei Mikhailov, founder and president of Bering Yachts, told Robb Report . “In my opinion, it will soon be considered second.”

Turkey is the world's third-largest builder of superyachts.

Interiors, like this salon on Victorious , are often designed by leading European design firms.  Courtesy tkkkkk

In April 2021, Bering’s 78.7-foot B77 explorer Veronika was delivered to her Australian owner. It’s the first of four deliveries planned by the shipyard this year, including a Bering 70, Bering 92 and Bering 76. Mikhailov believes the fiscal benefits of Turkey’s 18 Free Zones (VAT-free, tax-free and duty-free) make yacht building more accessible.

The Antalya Free Zone is the main yacht-building hub, accounting for around 80 percent, followed by Istanbul’s Tuzla district and Bodrum in the Muğla province. In 2019, 47 superyachts with a total combined length of 2,630 feet came out of the Antalya Free Zone, generating $95 million in revenue. The cross-section of owners came from the Netherlands, the U.S., Qatar, Croatia, the Ivory Coast, Portugal, Jamaica, Russia, Oman and Djibouti.

But Turkey’s appeal cuts deeper still. It has a solid artisanal workforce, a phenomenon that has arisen from the country’s longstanding manufacturing history and bespoke furniture making. And when the risk of a shipyard going bankrupt is taken off the table, the opportunity becomes even sweeter.

Turkey is the world's third-largest builder of superyachts.

“Purchasing a new build in Turkey is different from anywhere else in the world,” says Mikhailov. “The certificate of ownership is issued to the owner by the federal government from the very start of construction, which means Turkish shipyards effectively work for hire. So, it’s a really safe and transparent way of boat building that puts the owner in control from the beginning.”

In Bursa, at its 1.7-million-sq. foot yard, Sirena Yachts is making waves with its flagship 88, the shipyard’s largest model to date. Hulls three and four delivered in June 2021 to their Canadian and Spanish owners. The Canadian owner plans to live aboard for seven months a year, cruising the Bahamas and Caribbean. Eight hulls have sold in total to owners from Russia, North America and across Europe.

“The Sirena 88 is not a first-time user type of boat,” Ali Ongar, CCO at Sirena Yachts told Robb Report . “It’s designed for the owner who knows what they want. It’s a real hybrid, combining the American trawler-style of boat with superyacht speed and finesse and a bespoke interior, if required.”

Turkey is the world's third-largest builder of superyachts.

Building speculation boats, Sirena Yachts has created a rapid lead time of just two years. But if an owner steps in up to 10 months before delivery, they still have the option to customize their yacht interior. “We never stop building our hulls,” says Ongar. “We can build a 58-foot yacht from start to finish in four months, so that means we have the capacity to deliver one boat every 35 days throughout the year. That’s the beauty of building on speculation.”

Many Turkish yards are also collaborating with established European designers to further elevate the status of the yachts. Ken Freivokh and Dykstra Naval Architects are the names behind Dream Symphony and Cor D. Rover penned Sirena 88’s interior.

Turkey is the world's third-largest builder of superyachts.

Sirena 88 facing the world, bow-on.Meanwhile, Evadne Yachts in Istanbul has also collaborated with Vripack to produce an entire series of Rock models, ranging between 80 and 138 feet. “When you pair world-class design with Turkey’s competitive boatbuilding edge, you create the ultimate talent pool,” Ali Sayakci, owner of Evadne Yachts, told Robb Report .

If the growing demand for new yachts following this year’s Cannes and Monaco yacht shows is any indication, Turkey’s boatbuilding sector could be in for a strong run over the next three years. “We have the best address in the world for semi-custom yachts,” says Sayakci.

Alia Yachts in Antalya, Turkey, have started construction on the 53m Alia Sea Club. The 499GT yachts exterior design, which features a nearly vertical bow, was conceived by Azure Yacht Design & Naval Architecture in the Netherlands.

“This new project is another glowing confirmation of our know-how and specific skills in building one-off, full custom yachts that are also designed to be fast, versatile and efficient," says Gökhan Çelik, President of Alia Yachts. “We are looking forward to working with Azure Yacht Design.”

“Our aim was to create a yacht able to carry a number of tenders and toys while keeping the onboard features of a superyacht,” says Onne Logger, Azure Yacht Design Director. “We developed the project from the conceptual phase in early 2021 and we’re now part of the owner’s team responsible for the exterior design, general layout and the overall project development.”

The steel and aluminium Alia Sea Club’s stand-out features include a large covered tender bay on the main deck, which will accommodate a 13-metre guest tender, an 8.2-metre crew tender, a submarine, two wave-runners, two sailing dinghies and two sailing catamarans.

Utility is the yacht’s primary vocation and a fully certified heli-deck and a 50m2 storage area on the lower deck, where an inflatable waterpark will be stored in addition to other toys.

Lionspirit: Construction on 62m superyacht continues in Turkey

Set for delivery in 2023, the 62 metre motor yacht Lionspirit has entered the next stage of construction at Nebula Yacht in Antalya, Turkey.

The in-build superyacht is being built on an inherited hull, with an Espen Øino exterior and and an interior that was originally conceived by Reymond Langton.

Work on the motor yacht includes lengthening the hull by a total of four metres – two metres in the back and two in the front. Lionspirit is also receiving a new helipad on her foredeck and the installation of a new cabin, replacing a former lounge room.

The latest construction steps to be carried out are outfitting and decorating. According to Cesar Abi Akl at yacht management firm Sailing Plus, the yacht’s interiors are getting “a lighter and more modern look”.

“She will have a great charter appeal when delivered,” continued Abi Akl.

Lionspirit spreads over four decks, with the upper deck boasting plentiful seating areas forward and aft. Up on the sundeck, two separate seating areas will be split by a patch of shade gifted by the yacht’s hardtop. On the main deck aft, a socialising and al fresco dining area overlooks the yacht’s beach club which plays host to a large swimming pool and swim platform.

Lionspirit is still for sale with Sailing Plus. The finished yacht is asking €59,000,000.

Our family foundation keeps it personal..

Sarp Yachts has founded one of the largest (10,000 m2) and most modern facilities in the Free Zone of Antalya in South Turkey. It's specifically designed for the new-construction and refit of luxury motor and sailing yachts up to 80 m in length.

Easy words to say, but few stand in their own truth when they speak them, because true quality is demanding. It calls for the purest principles, the deepest commitments and only the truly dedicated will ever measure up. But it’s worth the search if you can find the road. There are subtle landmarks along the way and a discovery that drives you forward, and when you find true quality, it’ll stop you in your tracks. A supremely crafted superyacht is an unforgettable discovery, and it also tells a story.  A story of absolute precision, trusted engineering, the finest materials and beautiful spaces, designed to be shared. Ultimately it’s a story of those who built the yacht and their deep seated passion and determination to craft perfection. When this comes to life in an exceptional superyacht, you can be sure you’ve uncovered true quality. Yours, to enjoy and a story to continue.

At Sarp Yachts we take the long road to quality investing the time, refining the detail, gathering the best around us and expecting the best of ourselves. Sarp Yachts is one of the very few yacht-builders able to cope and even excel with such a challenge. We actively seek innovative and unusual projects and recent launches prove our ability to fuse luxury interior craftsmanship with complex exterior engineering. Sarp Yachts  is designed to have a timeless appeal. Creating an iconic yacht of which an owner can be proud of, is very much part of the design brief we launch.

Every part of the technical team can log into the same data, achieving a reduction in total building time and improvement of quality for the final output.

Working in close collaboration with one of the world’s foremost naval architects, our in-house experts have total control of the build process from concept to launch. SARP offers a broad range of tested platforms on which various projects can be based.

A series of tank and propeller tests with programmes designed to analyse the performance, wave keeping and handling qualities on our yachts.

In co-operation with the relevant Classification Society, tests are conducted in a deep-water basin as well as depressurised towing tank.

Probably one of the most controversial talking points in super yacht building circles is the question of where a yacht is built, the quality and the cost. Sarp Yachts run a competitive pricing policy and is driven by R&D, efficiency, investment and modern management, supported by a highly skilled workforce operating in high tech environments. We also follow through on a practical level, employing them afterwards in our shipyards and providing them with a solid start in their professional lives. Our results have proved that when a young person is able to work with some of the finest experts in their field, as is the case in our shipyard, his or her own talents will bloom. Bilgin yachts is working on four projects lately: Bilgin 163, 243 and 263, 278. Designed in collaboration between Bilgin Design Team and the Unique Yacht Design, 50-meter Bilgin 163 is as trendy and spacious as her predecessors ex-Nerissa and ex-Lilium. Natural colors used in the living areas in combination with large windows and high-gloss materials in order to create contrast and to offer the feeling of autumn. With a six-cabin layout, the yacht is going to offer extensive living areas, 20 percent larger areas compared to 48m yachts by Bilgin.

On the other hand, the 74-meter project Bilgin 243 also has the signature of the Unique Yacht Design in her exterior areas and naval architecture. Thanks to her five six-deck layout, the superyacht will offer the yacht owner and their guests alternative living areas on deck. Besides a flybridge and extensive sunbathing areas, there will also be a lounge on the upper deck, a living room with a bar section on the bridge deck, and another living room with a 16-person dining table on the main deck. The owner will benefit from full privacy thanks to the large area devoted to the front part of the main deck.

The Bilgin 263 series, started with the splash of Tatiana, crowned the worldwide success of the shipyard. The second hull of 263 series -which is already sold- is planned to be launched in 2022. The third hull, the 80-meter Project Silence will offer 20% larger volume as well as various technical improvements, additional features for greater comfort and autonomy at sea. Built at Bilgin Yachts’ main facilities in Istanbul, the Project Silence (NB78) will be launched in 2023. One of the latest models of the shipyard is the 50m Bilgin 163 which will have more spacious living areas compared to 48m yachts of Bilgin. The first hull of two 50-meter yachts had her technical launch in March 2022 and will be delivered to her owner in 2023. Last but not least, the shipyard’s exciting big step is also for a 2,100 GT 85-meter yacht. The manufacturing process of this yacht has already started. All Bilgin yachts are built in compliance with IMO Tier III certification and ABS-class requirements, and are supposed to be the most environmentally friendly yachts in their own class.

One of our hangars has the capacity to build 40-45 meter vessels, while we can build 2 boats up to 55 meters in the other one.

Also a portable hangar is available at this facility, in which we can build vessels up to 60 meters.
