Lil Yachty recently shared some new selfies on social media to show off his new hairstyle, after cutting off his braids. He poses around backstage and sits on a couch.

“She like my haircut, it turn her on!!!” He captioned the series of pics, seemingly pretty excited about them.

“I chopped da top, f*kk it,” Lil Yachty also wrote in the Instagram post.

However, he couldn’t have anticipated the reactions. Some people were pointing out that he looked better, while others had jokes and harsher comments.

“What’s under the hat boat,” one user asked. Lil Yachty took it well, responding with a hiding laughter emoji.

Others had trouble even recognizing him. “WAIT I JUST REALIZED THIS IS F*CKING LIL BOAT???” another person quoted.

About twenty minutes later, the rapper tweeted that some of the comments were upsetting him. “I did not stop drinkin lean for n****s to bully me and tell me I look like I have leukemia,” he posted.

Lil Yachty Braids: The Complete Guide for This Rapper’s Hairstyles

Lil Yachty braids are as unique and individualistic as the rapper himself. Since the day he arrived on the hip-hop scene with songs like “One Night”, “Minnesota”, and “Broccoli”, people have been impressed with his braids.

After achieving mainstream popularity, he has not gone for any style other than braids. Just think about him and you would find that you can’t imagine Lil Yachty without braids.

Even with his braids, he has not experimented too many times. However, there are a couple of braids styles that he has tried out.

Each one of these Lil Yachty hairstyles has been absolute bangers, just like his music. He brings some interesting twists on his braids that make them stand apart from the rest.

In this article, we will break down these amazing styles and talk about them in detail. So, read till the end to learn about the best braids styles of Lil Yachty.

Lil Yachty Red Braids

Red braids with beads, lil yachty black braids, braids with bandana, french braids, braided pigtails, tied beads on the sides, loose top knot, multi-colored beads, frequently asked questions, final words, 9 exciting lil yachty braids styles you should try.

We have picked and compiled 9 of the most stunning braids styles of Lil Yachty for you. Go through this list to find out which style you vibe with the most.

Lil Yachty Red Braids

Red braids have been the signature Lil Yachty hairstyle throughout his career. Even before he became a rapper or even had braids, he used to dye his hair red as a young man.

This red color has been a constant companion in his journey. Maybe that’s why for a long period of time we haven’t seen him with any other hair color. However, if I were you, I wouldn’t necessarily dye my hair red and would choose another color that’s more meaningful to me.

As for braiding your hair, you can go for simple box braids. I’d also recommend the two strand twist or three strand twist styles if your hair is still too short for braids.

Red Braids With Beads

This one is the Lil Yachty braids style. Without a doubt, this is his most widely recognized hairstyle. It’s probably the one Lil Yachty hairstyle you were aware of even before you started reading this article.

You should dye your hair before you start braiding if you want to keep it colored for a long time. If it’s a short-term commitment, then you can first braid your hair and then use a temporary hair color spray.

Lil Yachty also keeps his braids thin and has a good number of them. So, you have to divide your hair into many sections. When you are done braiding all the sections, you can attach the beads. Lil Yachty usually prefers transparent beads.

Lil Yachty Black Braids

The Lil Yachty black braids style surprised a lot of people when he first appeared with it. They were just shocked that he had finally ditched the red color and went with his natural hair color.

He again surprised his fans when he attached diamond beads to his black braids. I am very much aware that it’s not a viable option for most people. You can just attach white beads if you want as that would create a cool contrast.

Lil Yachty also went for thicker braids this time. They were lesser in number as well. So, you won’t have to create that many sections for this one.

Braids With Bandana

Lil Yachty seems to be a huge fan of bandanas. Back when he had red braids and even now, he seems to wear a bandana pretty frequently. It actually makes sense because wearing a bandana is one of the easiest ways of making your braids more striking.

There are two ways he styles his braids with a bandana. One is when he wears it just over his braids. Then, the braids come out from underneath the bandana.

The other style is when he wears it higher and lets a couple of his braids stick out from the top of the bandana. He has tried beads with both of these styles as well.

French Braids

If you are looking for Lil Yachty without braids, this style is the closest thing you will find. This is unlike any other Lil Yachty braids styles and he pulls it off really well.

To get this style, you only need to have two long braids. First, you have to create a partition straight down the middle. Then, you need two braids at the front. Both braids will start from the partition, go sideways, go halfway around your head and then fall at the back.

I would also keep my front hairline tidy and crisp for this style. The rest of that hair that’s not braided should be slick and close to the scalp.

Braided Pigtails

This is a unique Lil Yachty hairstyle that he has come up with just by tying up his braids in a certain way. I can’t be entirely sure if he intentionally wanted to create a pigtail-inspired style. But, the style certainly looks like that.

You have to create a middle partition for this style as well. Then, you have to take all the braids from one side and tie them up on that side of your head. Do the same for the other side as well.

There will be a couple of loose braids at the front and the back of your head. Also, this style works better with beads because then it has more texture and character.

Tied Beads On The Sides

You have to attach beads to your braids for this style. Beads are necessary to create this distinct look. Also, make sure that there are 4-5 beads for each braid.

You have to create a middle partition to begin. Then, you have to create scalp braids that go sideways. Just like French braids, these braids will go from the partition to the opposite side of your head.

Finally, you have to take all your braids from one side and tie them together, kind of like the pigtail style. But, you have to tie them in a way so that only the beads are dangling from both sides.

Loose Top Knot

This Lil Yachty braids style is really easy to get. Despite being a simple style, it actually is quite impactful and can give you an attractive look.

It is basically a top knot style where you take all of your hair and tie them right at the top of your head. But, you would not tie all your braids for this style.

Few braids need to be free. Lil Yachty styles it in a way that there are loose braids on the sides and the back. If you want, you can let a few of them fall from the front to your forehead.

Multi Colored Beads

This is the last Lil Yachty braids style on my list. This one includes beads as well. For this style, it’s better if you have thin braids and there are a lot of them.

The more braids you have, the better you will look. Also, the braids need to be longer. At the end of each braid, you will attach multiple beads and they will be of different colors.

You can just create a middle partition and let these colorful beads hang down from both sides. Feel free to choose any color you want.

We have already mentioned how popular Lil Yachty braids are. So, it’s not a surprise that there are tons of questions that are frequently asked about his braids. We’ll answer a few of them in this section.

How to get Lil Yachty Braids?

Well, you have seen from the list that there are a couple of Lil Yachty braids styles you can choose from. But, most of them include box braids and attaching beads to your braids. Check out this video to have a basic idea of how to braid your hair and attach beads.

Why did Lil Yachty ditch his red braids?

Lil Yachty has stopped dying his braids red, which he was doing for a long time. He said in an interview that dying his hair frequently was actually damaging his hair a lot. That’s why he stopped doing it before his hair got severely and irreparably damaged.

Through this article, I have shown you the best braided hairstyles of Lil Yachty. It is now up to you to decide which styles you want to adopt.

When you have braids, you have to be extra careful about maintenance. You can’t avoid providing the care that your braids need. I have a few suggestions that you can follow.

You must avoid making your braids too tight. If your braids are too tight, that can seriously damage your hair and might even cause permanent hair loss.

You also have to regularly hydrate and moisturize your scalp. Oiling your scalp is also a very positive practice. However, whatever moisturizer or oil you are using, make sure that those suit your hair and scalp.

Finally, sleep on a silk or satin surface. Also, wear a durag while sleeping to keep your braids fresh. Just follow these recommendations and rock your Lil Yachty inspired braids with confidence.

Lil Yachty Shows Off New Hair Style

Lil Yachty isn't waiting for the new year to show off his new self, taking to Instagram Live on Monday (Dec. 19) to show off a new hair style. As seen in the above video, Yachty has let his signature braids and beads go, his red locks still as colorful as ever.

"See this right here? The James Brown look, you know?," he says. "I’m working on my album. This look means seriousness. This hair do means hits. And to Funkmaster Flex this means a lot of mumble rap." Jay Z was known to miss the barber's seat whenever he was in album mode, Yachty likewise switching his style up.

In November, Yachty said of recording his debut album, “I have so many amazing songs that we never put out. But we’ve been on tour, and I keep trying to record on tour but I keep losing my voice. And it’s just hard for me to record, 100 percent. So once I get off tour on the 18th, we’re really just gonna lock in and just start completely fresh. So there’s no songs: we’re really just gonna make it in three or four weeks.”

As for his Funk Flex remarks, the Hot 97 DJ called Yachty out by name recently during an on-air screed against mumble rappers. Yachty responded via Twitter, writing, “If it ain’t one hot 97 dj it’s another lmao.” Earlier in the year, Yachty and Ebro had exchanged words over Yachty's rapping ability.

Drake Does Son Adonis Graham's Hair in Sweet Instagram Photo

Fellow rapper Lil Yachty jokingly accused Drake of pretending to do Adonis' hair "for the internet" in the comments section

lil yachty blonde hair

Drake/Instagram

Drake is in dad mode.

The Canadian rapper, 36, documented a sweet parenting moment in a new Instagram post .

On Friday, the Grammy winner shared a photo of himself and son Adonis . In the snapshot, Drake sits behind the 5-year-old as he carefully takes his blond curly tresses out of their braided hairstyle.

The “One Dance” rapper also wore his hair in braids in the father-son photo, prompting Tyga to comment, “Like father Like son.”

Collaborator and fellow dad DJ Khaled also commented on the post with a simple emoji: "👑."

Drizzy captioned the carousel with an Allen Iverson quote: “Just because you put a guy in a tuxedo doesn’t make him a good guy.”

In the same post, Drake also shared one of his signature mirror selfies — sporting a Notre Dame Fighting Irish basketball jersey, faded jeans and large white sneakers — and a funny video of Adonis and the rapper's mom Sandi Graham .

In the clip, Sandi, 63, thanks her son for gifting her a new watch. “What a gift,” she says of the sparkly green watch. “Isn’t that gorgeous?”

The “Passionfruit” rapper then asks his son, whom he shares with French artist Sophie Brussaux, to comment on the present. “Do you like Bubby’s watch?” he asks.

Adonis, who was playing ping pong before his dad began filming, shrugs off the purchase, telling Drake he does not like it because it is “too expensive.”

“I know,” the rapper tells him. “Don’t worry, when you get older.”

The “God’s Plan” musician, who is currently on his It's All a Blur Tour with 21 Savage , also stirred the pot in the post’s comments section following an accusatory remark from longtime pal and fellow rapper Lil Yachty .

“It’s no way [you're] sitting here acting like [you're] braiding his hair for the internet,” Yachty, 25, jokingly commented on the post.

Drake clapped back with his reply, writing, “I was unbraiding it bitch your son said you ain’t hit him in 6 months on his finsta."

"He said he need some Jordans and a backpack for school," he added.

This is not the first time the pair has faux beefed in Drake’s comments section.

In July, the “One Night” rapper complimented Drizzy’s massive diamond earrings, prompting him to reply with a rant about homophobic comments he has received about his nails — which he painted at Yachty’s recommendation.

"GET OUT MY COMMENTS YOU TOLD ME TO PAINT MY NAILS SO I STOP BITING THEM AND NOW THE WORLD IS BEING HOMOPHOBIC FOR THE 1st TIME SINCE RICH FLEX…which wasn’t that long ago now that I think about it," Drake responded on the post. "Wait is the world homophobic? Smh."

In response to his friend, Yachty wrote, "Woo-sah brother, [you're] not supposed to have these episodes in public, it’s fine.”

"They just don’t get u bro #UDIFFERENTAF,” he finished.

Lil Yachty Trolls Drake Over His Son’s Hair & Gets A Pretty Spicy Response

Lil Yachty Trolls Drake Over His Son’s Hair & Gets A Pretty Spicy Response

Lil Yachty has gone after Drake ‘s head top once again after the 6 God posted a photo of himself taking out his son’s braids at his home.

On Friday (August 11), Drizzy posted a carousel of images and a video on Instagram which showed him unbraiding Adonis’s sandy blonde hair. For comparisons sake, in the next slide, Allen Iverson was famously getting his braids fixed by his aunt during an NBA game .

The two additional slides show Drake rocking LeBron James’ St. Vincent–St. Mary Irish High School jersey and him showing off a diamond watch with a light green band that he got for his mom.

In the comments section of the post, Lil’ Boat jokingly attacked Drake and said that the rapper was simply capping for the internet. “It’s no way your sitting here acting like your braiding his hair for the internet,” he said.

Drake fired back with his own funny — but spicy — response, saying: “I was unbraiding it bitch your son said you ain’t hit him in 6 months on his finsta he said he need some Jordans and a backpack for school.”

Check out the post below:

Both rappers have gone back-and-forth trolling each other throughout the last few months. Just this month, Yachty jabbed Drizzy over recent Instagram caption that appeared as lyrics .

“Least you can do is introduce me to the new you or the old clone or whatever she’s called, But you expected me to know who she was all along They used to banish ppl from towns for things smaller then what you’re on,” Drake subliminally penned.

The Atlanta native didn’t understand what Drake was talking about and therefore let him have it in a playful way. “Y’all what do dis n-gga be talkin bout load of blabber am I right,” he wrote.

Plenty of fans agreed with Yachty as they spoke up in the comment section of  OurGenerationMusic ‘s repost of the exchange. “I need a friendship like drake’s and yachty’s,” one fan tried to manifest, while another chimed in: “Drake has to stop with the lightskin literature!”

While Yachty has shown love to Drizzy by  blessing him with an icy Concrete Boys chain  and Drake has returned the favor by having Boat open up on  certain dates of his current tour , the trolling still goes on as  Yachty dissed Drake’s earrings last month on social media .

“Boy got them heavy hangers in his ear,” Boat wrote.

The  OVO  boss responded immediately, saying: GET OUT MY COMMENTS YOU TOLD ME TO PAINT MY NAILS SO I STOP BITING THEM AND NOW THE WORLD IS BEING HOMOPHOBIC FOR THE 1st TIME SINCE RICH FLEX…which wasn’t that long ago now that I think about it…wait is the world homophobic? Smh.”

Lil Boat then hit back with: “woo-sah brother, your not supposed to have these episodes in public, it’s fine. They just don’t get u bro #UDIFFERENTAF.”

The Kanye West Beauty Prescription: Match Your Hair to Your Yeezy Sweats

yeezy show

When Kim Kardashian West walked into Yeezy’s Madison Square Garden show today shrouded in a sea of white—think an oversize blanched fur designed by husband Kanye West and a new icy platinum dye job , it was just a hint of what was to come. Beneath a sheet in the center of the auditorium, models (including Alek Wek, Liya Kebede , and Veronica Webb) stood perfectly still on platforms, their hair wrapped in black skullcaps, save for a lucky few. There was also Naomi Campbell , an ebony-clad counterpart to Kim’s winter white ice queen, her obsidian lengths and straight bangs cutting a strong profile against a jet black Yeezy fur.

Naomi Campbell

From the look of things, Campbell and Kardashian West won’t be the only ones taking head-to-toe color coding to the next level for Fall 2016 . Elsewhere onstage, Ian Connor lit up a cigarette and naturally shook his mustard dip-dyed locks, which blended seamlessly into his color-matched shearling coat and hoodie. Nearby, standing taller still, Lil Yachty wore fire engine red ear-length hair and a crewneck sweater of the same shade. And a few feet away, a tan bodysuit was the mirror image of another model’s close blonde crop. The message? Unless you’re going to dress for your dye job, consider covering your hair. Or, in the words of the Yeezy model rules, which were passed around backstage, “Do not be casual.”

Disclaimer: Applying any sort of chemical to your hair is a very risky job as this can lead to breakage or thinning if not done correctly, therefore we always recommend you use a professional.

How to Care for Dye & Bleached Coloured Hair

We always advice you see a professional when it comes to the act of placing chemicals in your hair, however here’s what you should do to maintain it.

– Minimize washing frequency: Washing colored hair too frequently can strip away the color faster which is why we advice you give some time between wash days!

– Use sulfate-free and color-safe shampoo: Regular shampoos containing sulfates can strip away the color and moisture from your hair. Opt for sulfate-free shampoos that are specifically formulated for coloured hair and one for your hair type!

– Condition regularly : Coloured hair tends to be more prone to dryness and damage. Conditioning regularly is essential to keep your hair hydrated and nourished. This is even more important for afro textured hair!

– Limit heat styling: Heat styling tools like flat irons, curling irons, and blow dryers can cause further damage to coloured hair. Minimize the use of these tools or opt for heat protectant sprays before styling to create a barrier between your hair and the heat.
