The Porsche 911 S/T is a creation born from the prowess of Porsche Motorsport’s GT division, renowned for their contributions to the acclaimed 911 GT3 models and other high-performance masterpieces. This particular variant is a testament to road-focused excellence, harmoniously merging elements from the GT3 RS and the GT3 Touring, while infusing a dash of nostalgic design elements.

One standout feature of the S/T is its adoption of the narrower bodyshell drawn from the GT3, enhancing its agile and athletic character. Complementing this, it incorporates distinctive cutouts strategically positioned behind the front wheels and incorporates lightweight carbon-fiber doors inspired by the RS variant. However, the true heart of the S/T is its engine—a formidable 4.0-liter, 9,000-rpm flat-six engine equipped with hotter camshafts than the GT3, delivering a resounding 518 horsepower at peak output.

Yachting blue interior anyone?

I've fixed my order with Rhodium Silver / Blue Top / Blue interior and there aren't many pictures or comments about this particular color. I thought many would have chosen it. So anyone happy with their yachting blue interior? Does it get dirty easily? Without full leather, does it look worse than black?

This $375,000 Porsche 911 RSR Tribute Restomod Was Engineered For Daily Driving

In 1973, Porsche first unveiled its now-legendary 911 RSR . Short for “RennSport Rennwagen” — literally translating to “Racing Sport Racing Car” — the RSR-spec 911 represented the absolute pinnacle of performance for the Stuttgart marque and would quickly prove its worth, racking up an enormous number of titles and race wins. Despite being pretty long in the tooth by modern performance standards, genuine 911 RSR specimens routinely fetch seven-figure sums when trading hands or crossing the auction block. 

Well aware of this reality, vintage Porsche fanatic Richard Schickman would launch The RSR Project, which is an East Coast-based customs and restoration shop specializing in delivering bespoke RSR restomod tributes — the latest of which to break cover is a 1986 911 known as the Gulf Blue 3 project. 

Originally leaving the factory as a 1986 911, The RSR Project’s newest build pays homage to the original 911 RennSport Rennwagen, maintaining its iconic style and widebody appearance while gaining a host of contemporary components and hardware that collectively bolster the car’s drivability, performance, and reliability. Like all builds from the Bedford Hills shop, this 1986 one-off — which has been dubbed the “Gulf Blue 3” as it marks The RSR Project’s third build in this style — this new project was developed by the shop with ample input from the customer who chose a myriad of bespoke options and details. 

The Powertrain

At the heart of the build is a 3.2-liter flat-six engine that’s been treated to numerous upgraded internals such as race-spec cams and an upgraded ECU, before ultimately being bored out to 3.4-liters. Bolted to a manual gearbox, the engine is now good for 235hp — all of which is sent to the build’s rear wheels. 

Gulf-Liveried Wide-Bodywork

After being converted to widebody-style bodywork, this one-of-one 911 restomod has been cloaked in a custom Gulf livery with a powder blue base, orange racing stripe, and orange “Carrera” and “Porsche” text/script. What’s more, this particular build has also been optioned with a front and rear bumper deletes, front and rear aluminum decklids, and a ducktail spoiler. The entire thing also now rides on a set of 15” Braid wheels shod in Michelin TB-15 tires.

Extensive Upgrades

Just like every other donor that comes through The RSR Project’s HQ, this 1986 specimen was first treated to a ground-up restoration before being built back up as a high-performance restomod marrying vintage looks and modern performance. In a bid to modernize the ’86 911’s handling, the restomod has been gifted a modern suspension setup complete with new bushings and top-of-the-line Bilstein shocks. Bolstering the vehicle’s stopping power is a new set of modern four-pot brakes. A number of weight-saving measures have also been taken to both increase handling and provide a better power-to-weight ratio. 

Rather than trying to modernize the interior of the vehicle, The RSR Project instead opts to stay true to the original RSR, with a largely spartan, race-inspired cabin that, in this case, has been treated to classic RS door panels, lightweight Perlon carpeting, a vintage dashboard fitted with fully updated gauges, a WEVO racing-style shifter, and seats trimmed in super-premium leather and fitted with Scottish Tartan inserts.

From Paul Stephens AutoArt to Singer to Gunther Werx to Macing Revival, there’s legitimately no shortage of elite Porsche tuning shops churning out high-dollar 911 restomods. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of German tuning house bb-Auto, Galpin Auto Sports has unveiled a one-of-a-kind restomod in Monterey. Inspired by vintage Polaroid photography, this 1986 Porsche 911 Targa features a striking livery, a refreshed interior, an updated chassis, and a hybrid powertrain.

The model pays homage to the bb-Auto Rainbow Turbo Targa , originally created in collaboration with Polaroid in 1976. This new version is based on a 1986 911 Targa with a wide body, carefully restored by Galpin and Porsche Santa Clarita. The custom livery showcases rainbow stripes over black bodywork.

The most significant changes lie beneath the surface, with the addition of an electrified powertrain. A new 4.0-liter flat-six engine by Ed Pink Racing is paired with a Vonnen hybrid system, delivering a combined 550 hp (410 kW / 558 PS). The electric motor, positioned between the engine and transmission, contributes up to 148 hp (110 kW / 150 PS).

To handle the added power, the classic 911 Targa has been equipped with modern suspension and brakes. The coilovers, inspired by the 997 GT3, are paired with an Active Suspension Management system. Additionally, larger Brembo brakes are fitted behind custom 18-inch Titan 7 alloy wheels.

The interior has been fully overhauled, featuring bespoke Recaro LX seats upholstered in blue, matching the dashboard and door cards. A 9.2-inch infotainment touchscreen, mounted on the passenger side, complements the Porsche Classic Communication system. The 911 also benefits from electric A/C and a high-end 660-watt Focal audio system.

The 1986 Porsche bb-Auto Targa Hybrid will make its public debut at Werks Reunion in Monterey on August 16, alongside a 1984 Porsche 911 Slantnose and a 1981 Porsche 928 Targa, both modified by bb-Auto. The restomod will also be showcased on the Concept Lawn at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on August 18.

Galpin Motors, which holds exclusive rights for bb-Auto, plans to produce a limited run of 50th Anniversary bb Targa hybrids. While pricing hasn’t been disclosed, the company stated that each model will be customized to the owner’s specifications.

Monterey Car Week is nearly upon us, and it will be the setting for some truly incredible reveals, including the new Lamborghini Huracán successor . Lovingly restored by Porsche Santa Clarita and Galpin Auto Sports, the multicolored Targa pays tribute to the iconic bb-Auto "Rainbow" Turbo Targa. The original - created in partnership with Polaroid for the 1976 Photokina photography show - is something of a style icon, and this latest model pays homage to the rainbow 911.

While the styling and paint scheme remains unchanged, the engine is thoroughly modern. The regular 3.2-liter flat-six engine has been enlarged to pack an almighty punch. Behind the lid, you'll now find a 4.0-liter motor (engineered by Ed Pink Racing) that delivers 550 horsepower. That's plenty of power - especially for a little Targa - and it's thanks, in part, to a hybrid system from Vonnen technology. The timing of this build is impeccable; Porsche recently debuted hybrid technology in the 992.2 911 .

According to Galpin Motors, the Vonnen-sourced hybrid system is lighter and more compact than conventional electric vehicle batteries. The setup makes use of a 150-hp electric motor generator that lives between the transmission and the engine. The hybrid Targa has also been equipped with heat exchangers and two cooling circuits to manage the additional heat.

Big Power Requires Serious Handling Upgrades

With more muscle comes the need for enhanced stopping power and handling. Behind the custom 18-inch wheels - wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 rubber - you'll find six-piston Brembo brakes. 993-style custom billet suspension (with an active management system) is complemented by upgraded coilovers and adjustable sway bars. Whereas the original bb-Auto Rainbow Porsche was silver, the reimagined variant receives black paint, which helps the rainbow color scheme pop.

This is the second vehicle in Thornley Kelham's European series, and it looks magnificent. If you want one, you better have plenty of cash to spare.

Flowing around the rear fascia, the sides of the vehicle, and the Targa roll bar, the classic G-body Porsche looks wonderful in this unique color scheme. The interior is also a delight for the senses, with custom Recaro LX seats trimmed in a vivid blue velour-like upholstery. This vibrant hue is also found on the door cards, while the carpets repeat the rainbow motif. A wooden gear knob, a modern air-conditioning system, and a new 900-watt Focal sound system form part of the other changes. While this exceptional vehicle marks a one-of-a-kind addition to Porsche ’s legendary heritage, it symbolizes the brand’s commitment to individuality, craftsmanship, and the passionate vision of a true car lover. Luca Trazzi — an architect, industrial designer, and Porsche enthusiast — has long admired the Speedster models that have been part of Porsche’s legacy since 1954. These cars are known for their distinctive open driving experience and dynamic performance, characterized by a shortened windshield and a sleek rear lid. However, Trazzi noticed a gap in his collection — a 911 Speedster from the Type 993 generation. With the help of Porsche’s Sonderwunsch program, he brought his dream to life, creating a one-of-a-kind 911 Speedster that reflects his personal vision. Luca trazzi’s Three-Year Journey of Creation The process of bringing Trazzi’s dream car to reality was labor-intensive, taking over three years of collaboration between Luca Trazzi and Porsche ’s Sonderwunsch experts.
