Used to love this place so much, but now it's just a trash bar with too many girls taking their shirts and bras off and screaming for attention on the bull. The music they play now is trash, it used to be so much better. During the two step songs, they don't allow people to stand on the dance floor, but yet, when the people who actually know how to line dance get out there and want to have fun, they do NOTHING about all the drunk people stumbling all over the floor, bumping into people and preventing them from dancing. I don't understand why that's allowed. As someone who loves to line dance, it's truly disappointing. As far as the bar, the drinks are overly expensive, $8 for 4 sips, like what?? They already make enough money from all the 18 year old girls and 35 year old drunk men who ruin the atmosphere. And if you think you're gonna go home and go straight to bed? Wrong, you're gonna wanna shower 5 times because of the thick smoke they allow in the building. I understand it's a bar, but smoking just ruins everything. 11/10 don't recommend if you wanna line dance and have fun.

A true, redneck bar experience. One that I hope to never have to partake in again. I reluctantly went here with some friends Friday night. I'm open-minded and can accept that Oklahoma does not have many places to go to outside of the Bricktown/downtown areas. Redneck's was about as bad as a time as I've ever had in the Oklahoma City area. It was 11:30 p.m. on a Friday night and the place was more than half empty. Maybe this could be a good thing to connect with some friends? Nope. At check-in, there was no cover, so that was nice, but I was asked if I had any knives or weapons on me. While I appreciate this for safety, it kind of gives you an idea of the type of crowd you might experience around a place like this. The crowd was the quintessential, trashy redneck group. About half of the people on the dance floor were underage women (under 21, over 18) with barely any clothes on. I kid you not that at least one person was wearing what looked like a bra and booty shorts that did not even cover underwear. Almost everyone was smoking while dancing, which might be a redneck or an Oklahoma thing, or both. Either way, it was very difficult to breathe. The ironic thing is that their description of this place says, "There is with no doubt a beautiful crowd every Friday and Saturday at RedNeck Yacht CLub." I'm not sure what sane, sober human being would consider the crowd I saw a beautiful one. The music was almost entirely country and I can tolerate some country, but this was too much. I could not recognize a single song and that says a lot. It was also extremely loud and that's with the place being relatively empty for a weekend night. Our group could barely hear each other, even when we raised our voices. I went over to get a drink and the floor was so sticky in front of the bar that I could hear my shoes squeak with every step I took. The hard liquor options were quite limited for a bar this size, as I suppose that most patrons are mainly interested in ordering cheap beer. There were some pool tables off to the side, but the crowd there was even more divey. One table had two barely dressed women sprawled on the tables. I'm not sure what was going on there, but I did not hang around to find out. We only stayed about an hour before we finally got the heck out of there. What a lousy "club" experience, even for Oklahoma standards.

Never been to a bar or dance club before and this shocked me. My friends took me here cause they thought I would like it. I loved the dancing atmosphere, but they literally played an hour of slow dance songs straight. I wish they had more line dance songs. I only got to dance to like 4 or 5 in the 3 hours I was there. It was kinda disappointing. It was very smoky, but the most shocking thing was the mechanical bull riding. There were about 6 girls who would trade off riding with no shirt or bra. They were grinding on the bull and yelling trying to get as much attention as they could. I feel like I need to bleach my eyes after seeing that. I would of loved to come back and bring my husband next time if it wasn't for that. Was hoping for a better country dancing club experience.

I love coming here. It's a very friendly atmosphere. I've met a bunch of really good people here and they have become true friends. It's one of the places I would recommend to anyone. I have a lot of fun and laughs every time I go. 10/10 in my books

Photo of Hailee J.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the people. I get its a country based club. But i kinda wish they played more than country music and evenly distribute the mix of music genres to suit everyone that is in the club. A little disappointed in that. Its hard to find clubs that are 18+ in okc so i rlly dont have complaints other than the music mix. Would recommend for a night out with girlies and the dudes. :)

Photo of Hannah S.

Scary and dirty. This place needs a major deep cleaning & renovation. You just feel icky once you're inside, I would hate to see it with the lights on. It's also 18 and older... which is great since they're aren't many in OKC.... but you either have 18 year old kids or 35+ year olds adults. Not a good mix AT ALL. I walked in... in 2016 and was creepily hit on by men near the mid-life crisis age, as well as followed to my car after leaving within the 15 minutes I was there. The staff wasn't helpful at all (pretty much red necks that act really unprofessional). They have weird music flow, goes from line dancing to twerking in seconds. Doesn't really count as a "country" place in my opinion. All the furniture and pool tables feel/look dirty and dated. Definitely an easy place to underage drinking as well, first time there the single men looking to take an 18 year old home would buy us drinks... talk about feeling like you about to get drugged?! People will literally pay the cover to go in and take pictures as a joke. Wouldn't ever recommend this place or send someone I care about here.

Photo of Adriene W.

I personally recommend reds to anyone whose 18+ and wants to have a good night out. My first time going was a couple weeks ago, maybe a month ago now, and I go every Wednesday. Despite what some reviews say, they do play more then country music. Once more people show up and there is a big enough group, they do the lines dances, and play other music. I haven't had any problems with drama or such since going there. It is a country bar, So it's not "high quality" but it's still nicer then some. They have pool tables down stairs, and up on the loft area. As well as a mechanical bull you can ride, and a big dance floor, and a outside area! It's good for a night out. Definitely strong on the smoke smell, so if that bugs you, just be aware! And a plus is that every Wednesday Ladies get in free from 8pm-10pm.

Photo of Conner R.

I was there on Friday for St. Patrick's day and the music was awesome! The floor was the perfect size to accommodate quite a few couples who were dancing, the drinks were reasonably priced, and it was fun watching people try the mechanical bulls! Additionally, I found out I'd lost my ID, called on a day they were closed, someone immediately answered, and he told me that they had a box of 200+ IDs. When I told him I lived in Norman and couldn't make it down to rummage through them, he offered to look through the box for me. That kind of commitment to service is what will keep me coming back to Redneck Yacht Club. It's obvious that management really cares about their customers.

What are the Cheapest Yacht Clubs?

The cheapest yacht clubs charge just under $1,000 per year for membership. While this does give you access to different types of experiences, you may be disappointed by the overall amenities.

Some yacht clubs are known for their extravagant country club styles that help you to embrace a particular lifestyle. They include Olympic-sized swimming pools, state-of-the-art tennis courts, and fine dining.

Everything has a beautiful waterfront view. It can feel like you are in the middle of an idyllic paradise without ever even having to leave the shore. If this is what you can gain from the most expensive yacht clubs, you should set your expectations much lower for the cheaper yacht clubs.

The cheaper yacht clubs lack the community aspect of these exclusive options. They feature dry slips and the occasional party, but not much more.

Some of them may have the feel of a county park with some picnic benches, outdoor grills, and a moderately sized swimming pool. Expect a much more casual atmosphere when you choose to go with a cheaper yacht club.

It is even possible that they are simply “paper yacht clubs” that do not even maintain a physical building of their own.

How Much Do the Most Expensive Yacht Clubs Cost to Join?

The most expensive yacht clubs can vary a great deal in price. Most of them will cost between $3,000 and $4,000 per year. However, you can certainly find more exclusive clubs that will cost above and beyond this.

Keep in mind that these more expensive clubs generally are not open to the public. They are offered by invitation only and you must have a member sponsor you to be considered for entrance.

When you are paying for a more expensive yacht club, you should make sure that you are really going to get your money’s worth. These expensive clubs promote a certain type of elegant lifestyle.

Make sure that you are planning to take advantage of all the amenities available from one of these clubs before you sink too much money into the membership fees. The social aspect of these expensive yacht clubs is extremely important.

If you plan to simply rent a boat from time to time, you might be able to go with a cheaper yacht club.

What Is Generally Included in the Membership Fee for Yacht Clubs?

Have you been wondering why you should join a yacht club? Many potential members want to know what they can expect from their membership fees before they commit to a year-long contract. There are many advantages to signing up for a membership with a well-known yacht club.

Amenities and Activities

First and foremost, you get access to activities and cruises planned by board members. These might be various sailing activities, dinners, get-togethers, tennis matches, or other events that take up a lazy Sunday afternoon.

You also gain access to any amenities that surround the yacht club’s marina. For many programs, this means a fitness center, pool, and tennis courts. Several locations also offer fine dining, meeting rooms, and more.

It is like a private oasis where you can get away from the hustle and bustle of the regular world. Time moves slowly when you’re enjoying the amenities here.

Many yacht clubs have programs that introduce children (and adults!) to sailing. Take classes to learn more about improving your technique, sailing safety, and other important aspects of life on the open water.

Access to the Fleet

The main reason why most people join yacht clubs is to be able to rent out boats instead of purchasing their own. Joining a yacht club may give you access to an entire fleet of yachts that can be reserved for a day or weeks at a time. Some yacht clubs allow you to rent boats for up to ten days at a time.

Others do not allow you to rent out ships. They are primarily geared toward individuals who already own a yacht or will own a yacht in the future. Make sure you know the difference in advance.

redneck yacht club prices

Are There any Additional Costs Besides the Membership Fees?

Unfortunately, the membership fees are not the only cost associated with joining a yacht club. Most of the clubs in the United States also have a one-time initial fee that tends to cost thousands of dollars. Many will range from $1,500 to $5,000 depending on the location and the exclusivity of the yacht club.

This one-time fee should be the only additional money you pay except for fuel. Most yacht clubs do not cover the cost of the fuel used in the ship during your rental if renting is an option. Be prepared for what this could cost you.

If you cause damage to the ship, you can also expect some out-of-pocket costs. Insurance should cover the damage, but you will likely be asked to cover the cost of the deductible.

Be sure to inquire about how much you may be on the hook for before you sign up for any particular yacht club. Accidents can happen, even to the most experienced sailors. Make sure that you can afford the mishap in advance.

Is a Yacht Club Membership Right for You?

Understanding what the real cost of a yacht club membership is can be the first step toward determining if this is right for you. Many people love the luxuries available through the more expensive yacht clubs, but they may not be able to afford it. Consider what is most important in a club to you before deciding to sign on the dotted line for an annual membership.

The Meaning Behind The Song: Redneck Yacht Club by Craig Morgan

Song Meanings

Redneck Yacht Club is a popular country song written and recorded by Craig Morgan. Released in 2005 as the lead single from his album “My Kind of Livin’,” this upbeat and catchy tune quickly became a fan favorite. With its relatable lyrics and infectious melody, Redneck Yacht Club captured the essence of summer fun and the laid-back lifestyle.

Table of Contents

The song revolves around the concept of creating your own paradise, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, by escaping to the lake. Redneck Yacht Club is a term that represents a gathering spot for down-to-earth people who enjoy the simple pleasures in life – like fishing, boating, and sipping on cold beverages while soaking up the sun.

Tampa Bay area residents who enjoy getting down and dirty in the mud may have to find a new place to play with their ATVs and monster trucks if opponents of Punta Gorda’s Redneck Yacht Club get their way.

Following the Saturday death of Palm Harbor’s Nicholas Kirk, 20, during an ATV accident on the property, opponents are raising concerns about the attraction’s safety to Charlotte County officials.

Find out what's happening in Palm Harbor with free, real-time updates from Patch.

The Redneck Yacht Club calls itself the “world’s most exciting off-road park.” The park sits on more than 800 acres, offering an off-road experience for truck enthusiasts and ATV riders. It also provides on-site camping, Saturday mud truck races and other regular events, according to its website.

The park’s Memorial Day weekend bash, dubbed Memorial Day Mayhem, witnessed the death of Kirk. The ATV driver was on the yacht club’s property when he attempted to pass between two swamp buggies, NBC reported. It seems Kirk’s ATV got hung up in a tow strap, which effectively clothes-lined Kirk and his passenger Marlayan Gomez, 19, of Clearwater, several media outlets reported. Kirk died at the scene while Gomez was hospitalized for injuries.

While the yacht club has been a fixture for about a decade, residents say a lack of regulations and its bring-your-own-alcohol policy create a dangerous mix.

“There isn’t anything that isn’t allowed there,” former employee Dawn Erickson told WINK news. “The girls run around on ATVs with no clothes on. You see people having sex on top of a truck.”

Charlotte County officials say they are meeting with representatives from the yacht club soon to discuss the deadly incident, but say it’s unclear just how far they can really go in regulating the park a decade after its approval.

Even so, the yacht club has added more security, the station noted. It also has clearly posted park rules on its website . Those rules include mudding only in mudding areas, the required use of safety flags, the use of lights, adherence to posted speed limits and no fighting, among others. The park also prohibits the use of “stripper poles” and enforces quiet time between 2 and 7 a.m. daily.

It is unclear just how soon county officials will meet with park officials or what, if any, actions will result.
