Performance & Range
Built with a steel hull and steel superstructure, she offers greater on-board space and is more stable when at anchor thanks to her full-displacement hull. Powered by 8 x MTU engines, she comfortably cruises at 12 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 19 knots with a range of up to 12,500 nautical miles from her 1,034,000 litre fuel tanks at cruising speed. An advanced stabilisation system on board reduces the side-to-side roll of the yacht and promises guests exceptional comfort levels at anchor or when underway.
Set against the backdrop of your chosen cruising ground, you and your guests can enjoy endless days of fun on the water with the exceptional collection of water toys and accessories aboard Octopus. The principal among these are Triton 3300 submarines for exploring amazing marine life. Take to the sea on a jet ski offering you an exhilarating ride on the water. Guests can experience the thrill and adventure of riding one of the four Yamaha FX140 WaveRunners. Octopus also features towable toys, waterskis, a kite surfer, kayaks, windsurfers, and much more. When it comes to tenders, Octopus has you covered - with five tenders, including an 18.1m/59'5" Delta Powerboats tender.
Octopus and her crew are available for charter this summer for cruising within the South Pacific. She is already accepting bookings this winter for cruising in Antarctica.
Showcasing meticulous craftsmanship coupled with high-end luxurious finishes, expedition yacht Octopus certainly has the "wow" factor, along with state-of-the-art amenities and array of water toys, promising truly unforgettable yacht charters for even the most discerning guests.

- Impressions
One of the largest and most spectacular examples of a full-fledged yachting and exploration vessel, 126-meter Octopus is equipped with highly sophisticated technology. Espen Øino International designed the striking exterior with a blue and white hull and superstructure, featuring two helipads and a hangar aft. The superyacht is capable of exploration and scientific research voyages requiring months at sea. One of her key features is an integrated dock for both the principal 20-meter guest tender and two submarines for exploring marine life, one of which is remotely controlled for reaching greater depths. Octopus also houses a professional music studio and a grandiose cinema, created by interior designer Jonathan Quinn Barnett.

Now available for the first time for exclusive charter, she is the perfect luxury launchpad for extraordinary adventures.
FULL SPECIFICATION
Description
The Northwest Passage, the High Arctic, Antarctica, Papua New Guinea and Challenger Deep -EYOS and the yacht Octopus have a rich history. The EYOS team is proud to have contributed expertise, logistical support, or guidance in these challenging regions during her tenure as a groundbreaking expedition yacht. Now we’re here to help intrepid explorers take Octopus in interesting new directions. Where do you dream of going? What experiences do you imagine? EYOS has the expedition credentials to bring your ‘mission’ to life.
Commissioned by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, M/Y Octopus was the largest private yacht ever when it launched in 2003. Today, she remains one of the largest private yachts in the world. Her size, however, is surpassed by the scale of her ambitions. Allen himself famously described her as “less a Bentley than a Range Rover,” because of the state-of-the-art equipment on board.
Now, her 2021 refit preserves her expedition bona fides. She boasts an ice class for polar exploring; two helipads and two helicopter garages. In her garage are 7 tenders including her powerful 54’ Delta ‘tender.’ Discover a fleet of boards, from wake and surfboards, to wind and kite surfers, even electric foil flight boards, for personal forays. And with a glass-bottom observation lounge, and a fully equipped dive center, including an ROV, make the undersea part of every expedition. Her beautiful interiors and superb amenities, with accommodations for up to 12 guests, dial up the quality of life aboard. A stylish new Beach Club opens to the sea. The bridge deck features a heated freshwater swimming pool with a retractable glass floor that raises to deck level for entertaining. Adjacent is a bar, spa pool and an open-air pizza oven.
The Octopus yacht has ranged widely. And now under private charter, she will explore the four corners of the world again.

Around the World in Analogue: Life in the Green City, Zelenograd
Back in 1958, Zelenograd was a new town formed and planned by the Soviet Union, specialized to become the central hub of electronics, microelectronics and the computer industry, and it has become as such to this very day for Russia. Dubbed as the "Green City" in reference to the city's color and the symbolic animal, the squirrel, Zelenograd offers much more as it provides wide, open spaces where modernity and nature meet. Through the photographs of Lomographer Igor Silaev a.k.a. mahoney66 , we see a gorgeous glimpse of his life in the okrug in harmonious colors.
I think 2020 was very hard for everyone. There are various restrictions in the country. Due to some restrictions, I even had to change jobs. But it was only good because I had more free time. Thanks to this, I returned to photography!
I live in Zelenograd (Autonomous district of Moscow). Unlike the center of Moscow, it is more calm and measured, and there are a lot of trees in our city (Zelenograd literally translates as green city ). Thanks to this, you can feel a certain connection with nature here, as if you are in the village. But at the same time, some areas look like a metropolis. There is also a very unusual architecture in the style of post-Soviet modernism, it is very inspiring. That's probably why I love this city.
First of all, I love my view from the window, because there are unreal sunsets. There are also many parks and alleys in the city, and in my opinion, they are much more picturesque than parks in the center of Moscow and not so mainstream. I would recommend Victory Park (not to be confused with the Park of the same name in Moscow) and the arboretum. From the Central parks, I would recommend VDNH, there is something to see and shoot.
Next to my house there is a Tanuki restaurant, where they prepare delicious Asian food. And from the bars I would recommend Hops & Coffee, it is located next to the train station. There are many varieties of author's beer and damn fine coffee!... and hot! If we talk about the center, then be sure to visit the cafe PEOPLE as PEOPLE -- this is a pleasant place where you can eat delicious and inexpensive food.
I Advise you to come to Moscow in the middle of summer, at this time there are the most comfortable weather conditions and you can walk all day long. Visit as many attractions and parks as possible, take a ride in the Moscow metro and take as much film with you as possible because here it is much more expensive! If you still need a film, then I recommend Perspektivalab . They have a good selection of films and the price is reasonable.
I like to think about the first time I went to Sokolniki Park with my girlfriend. That day, I was terribly stung by my new sneakers, but even that didn't spoil this beautiful day. We walked all day and took a lot of pictures. If you are in Moscow, be sure to go to Sokolniki Park!

Beautiful photos! Thank you for sharing.
nice photos, interesting report of that town,
very very good!! I like it !!
Thank you! Well said and beautiful photos. Only Zelenograd is not an «autonomous», but an administrative district.
