A: No experience is necessary to drive our boats. We can teach you everything you need to know before you leave our dock. We do suggest novice boaters or customers with little boating experience take our smaller boats.

A: All drivers must be over the age of 21.

A: There is no age limit, though some boats have safety requirements.

A: Parking can be found in Shoreline Village. Although we do not validate, any shop or restaurant you visit can provide 2 hours of parking for $2.

A: Since we are on the dock, the closest address to our location is the Yardhouse Restaurant 401 Shoreline Village Dr. Long Beach CA 90802. Our office is located on the opposite side of the restaurant as the parking lot.

A: Absolutely, highly recommended. Space is limited on the boats; call our office for more details.

A: Yes, however the driver is not allowed to consume alcohol.

A: We require 24 hours advance notice to cancel a reservation.

A: Yes, same day reservations can be called into our office or reserved online up to 2 hours in advance.

Astronaut Island (Island Grissom & White)

See at least two of the four Astronaut islands on a private long beach charter. These man made isles were built in 1965 and measure 10 acres each. The islands were designed by Disneyland architect Joseph Linesch as part of a city beautification project to camouflage offshore oil derricks and muffle their sound. To disguise the industrial oil production, he added waterfalls, screens, and extensive landscaping along with the condo-style camouflage, and colorful lights at night. The islands are ringed by rocks from Catalina Island and filled with millions of cubic yards of material dredged from the bay. They are only decorated oil islands in the U.S.

Belmont Veterans Memorial Pier

Built by the determination of locals the pier was first erected in 1915. It has since undergone 2 renovations and continues to be beloved by the community. Extending 1,800 feet into the bay offering a great spot for watching sailboat regattas.

Aquarium of the Pacific

Founded in June 1998, the Aquarium of the Pacific is the fourth most-attended aquarium in the United states. Displaying more than 12,000 Pacific Ocean aquatic inhabitants, the Aquarium of the Pacific is a highlight of the southern california area.

Pricing for a yacht charter party is based on departure location and guest count. Please find our pricing online.

Where can we charter a party boat from?

We offer party yacht charters from Marina del Rey, Redondo Beach, Long Beach, San Pedro, Ventura, Newport Beach, and more.

What kind of wildlife can we see on a daytime yacht party?

Depending on the location and the time of year it is possible to see humpback whales, blue whales (summer to fall), grey whales (winter to spring), minke whales, bottlenose Dolphins, seals, sea lions, pelicans, and more.

Can I decorate the yacht for my boat party?

Guests are welcome to decorate the boats, as long as no damage is incurred with the decorations.

Where will my yacht charter party go?

All charters are based on customers wishes and their location departure.

Are children included in the guest count?

Yes, children are included in guest counts. Children below 13 year old are also required to wear life jackets on yachts.

What type of clothing should I wear on a yacht charter party?

Ideally guests should dress comfortably. Layers are advised as it can be windier and colder on the water than on land. Don´t forget your sunscreen and sunglasses.

What to wear to a boat party at night?

On an evening yacht charter party it is important to dress warmly. While the boats do have interiors that can keep deduce the wind factor an evening on the water can be chilly. So it is best to dress in warm layers.

Can I wear high heels to a party on a yacht?

High heels can be worn on some boats. On large party boats with 30+ guests it should be fine. It is not practical on the smaller boats as you will be walking around on different levels and materials and it can be dangerous. A better solution would be a pretty flat, a fancy sandal, or a short mule if you must.

What do I need to bring to a boat party?

For a boat party on a yacht it’s best to bring whatever will make you comfortable. Some guests like to bring an extra sweater, favorite snacks and drinks, sunscreen, sea sickness pills, and if it's a birthday party a gift for the host.

How soon in advance do I need to book a yacht for a party?

Our bookings are based on a first come first serve basis. To make sure your preferred date and time is available it's best to confirm the date and time as soon as possible.

How do I start a yacht party?

Gather everyone together and share a toast to get the party started. Then play the music and let everyone mingle around in the different corners of the boat. This will make a boat party come to life.

Am I expected to tip the captain and crew?

Gratuity is not included in the price and while not required it is always greatly appreciated. Any tips provided are split between the captain and crew.

Can I bring food and beverage aboard for a boat party?

Guests are welcome to bring food and beverage aboard.

Are refreshments included for a yacht party?

Refreshments are not included in the pricing. Guests are welcome to bring their own food and drink.

Is there a place we can go to swim during a yacht party?

We can offer swimming from our San Pedro & Long Beach departure locations.

What is a bareboat charter?

- A bareboat charter is a vessel that is leased by the owner to another person (a “charterer”) for a period of time without a captain or crew; - A bareboat charter is a vessel that is considered a recreational vessel and may not be subject to Passenger Vessel inspections by the United States Coast Guard; - Once the charterer takes possession of the vessel, the charterer becomes entirely responsible for the safe navigation of the vessel and its passengers; - The owner of the vessel is generally not responsible for any collision, personal injuries, and wages for the crew - The charterer is responsible for the vessel’s crew, fuel, insurance, any maintenance and repairs, and any liability associated with use and possession of the vessel; - The charterer must have the option of selecting and paying crew and may discharge the master or any crew member without referral to the owner; - The owner may require general levels of proficiency for the crew that is retained based on federal statutes; and - Charterers and passengers are solely responsible for making sure they understand and agree to the terms of any bareboat charter agreement.

I recently had the pleasure of using Doug and Donna's duffy boat services in June for a graduation brunch with my family. I had a great time! Our captain was Edwin who was an absolute pleasure to have on board. He was polite and offered additional information on the local scenery and assisted with DJ'ing and taking a group photo towards the end. The boat itself is just as described, very clean and spacious and fit 14 of my guests comfortably. Thank you all for your services and for making my event one to remember! :)

We rented the boat to remember my husband and scatter his ashes with family and friends. Captain Doug and Donna and the crew made the experience a beautiful tribute. Every aspect of the trip - from getting the permit to lowering his ashes into the sea - was handled with kindness and respect. Thank you.

We had Captain Steve for our amazing 2 hour adventure at sea. We had an employee fun event with a group of 12. Making the reservation was super easy, communication pre-trip from Captain Doug & Donna was fantastic and they made sure we were well informed about our boat tour. The Captain met us in the parking lot area and all went so smoothly with boarding the boat. We had a beautiful scenic boat tour. I would highly recommend Captain Doug and Donna's boat tour for groups.

Great boat rental experience! Tazy was punctual, called several times before the trip, and was quick to respond to messages. We celebrated my daughter’s birthday with a few of her friends, and they had a blast! Tazy was helpful and showed us a great time. The floating mat was a hit! The speed of the boat was exhilarating, and we didn’t know the boat could reach such high speed. Tazy gave us a nice tour of the harbor and even took us to a place where we saw a bunch of seals. His pricing is also reasonable. It was well worth it. I highly recommend Tazy for your boat trip! Thank you Tazy for making my daughter’s birthday memorable!

We left Long Beach for a sunset sail to celebrate a birthday with good friends. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience professional from the intial booking experience to porting. 5 stars it was better than advertised a great value, great sailboat ⛵️, and most importantly a great 5 star Captain. We will be telling our friends and booking Max again.

Finally a place that rents boats that you can take into the ocean! Although you're not allowed to go too far out. And they're phasing out their most powerful boat, the 75hp, because of too much abuse and the associated high insurance costs. But they still offer the 40hp boat and that has plenty of power, with a top speed of about 20 knots. It comfortably seats 4 people in designated seats, but can fit an extra two people sitting up front sideways on bench seating. I had a great time. I saw seals sunbathing on the buoys, and I even saw dolphins near the first oil rig island by the Queen Mary ship. Of course you can also get a nice close-up view of the Queen Mary itself. You're allowed to go almost to the Seal Beach Municipal Pier, but not quite. 1hr duration is enough if you want to do a quick single lap of the designated ocean area. 2hrs is highly recommend if you want to take your time and not be rushed. Be sure to bring a light jacket, hat, and sunglasses to protect yourself from the wind and sun. The designated driver is not allowed to drink. I'm not sure if the rest of the guests are allowed to drink. Park near the Yard House restaurant and then walk to the back of the restaurant and you'll see the little hut with the staff in it. If nobody is there then look over the edge to the docked boats because the staff might be down there instead.

ATTENTION PLEASE!!! The staff and owner are the most unprofessional and very rude group of kids ever. The boats are extremely unsafe and not well maintained at all. That corner of the marina is full of trash and floating objects. A perfect place to park the raggedy boats that they offer. A $500 deposit is ridiculous for the quality of boats they offer. They also fail to mention the deposit until the very last minute. I recommend going to any other boat rental place in the area. The boat will be a lot cleaner and safe to rent elsewhere, plus you will have a better scenery versus the LA river trash that they offer here.

This place is amazing! This is my 5th year renting a boat and I love my experience every single time. Austin made it 20x better this time around, super helpful and patient with us. THANK YOU AUSTIN!

Super Super easy to book and great staff... had family from out of town and we loved just cruising.. we didn't use the whole 2 hours but that's probably because it was kinda cold outside. We had a hiccup w our boats motor it wasn't running as smoothly - staff quickly accommodated and added bit extra time. Bonus experience & they let you bring a pup on board! haha

Well, it pains me to leave these reviews. Booked this reservations (4 hours on a duffy boat on a Saturday) about a month in advance. Wasn't too difficult to find based on instructions -- a small blue shack behind the Yard House to check in. Checking in was relatively easy. The staff, a young female, reviewed a map and made it clear where we could/not go -- she was sweet and patient. Once down on the dock, we met a young staff member: he was either extremely tired (yawning, no eye contact, dropped the clip board on the ground after we all signed the release...) or -- most likely -- he was high as a kite. He was disengaged and seemed disinterested in general. You ok bro? About an hour into the boat ride, which was super fun at first, the boat started making an extremely concerning sound -- like something was banging up against the bottom of the boat. We called the "emergency" number (no answer the first two calls), and the person told us it was "fine." It was NOT fine. We ended up having to go back and switch boats (9 people, several coolers, lots of bags...). All fine, right? As we were switching boats, one of the staff members shouts out "Is your driver sober?" Welp, I was the driver, yes I was sober, and wow...strike 2 -- that was rude! The "backup" duffy boat was not great. Super slow. But it did what was needed. We had an amazing time, but mainly because we know how to make the best out of any situation. Overall, I would not recommend this business. There are other boat rental folks in this area that have higher ratings that I would probably try next time. Both boats were old and clearly in need of maintenance, and the staff were immature and rude. I tried to provide this feedback after the ride, and no one was interested in hearing me. Disappointing.

The Renter can not invoke 'bad weather' and request a refund as reason for cancellation unless the Captain or the Boat Owner agrees to it. For captained charter, the Captain will make the decision if the weather conditions are dangerous to get out on the water. Cloudy skies or a slight chance of rain are not grounds for cancellation or rescheduling. If a cancellation or rescheduling due to bad weather is necessary, either the Renter or the Boat Owner must send an email to [email protected] stating the reason. The Alamitos Bay Marina opened in the late 1950’s and features 1,624 slips for recreational boaters. It’s located on the east side of Long Beach, at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Second Street, near Belmont Shore and Naples Island. The marina recently completed a $105 million dollar renovation, including replacement of all boat slips, docks, and various aspects of the marina’s infrastructure. The marina facility is staffed by a dockmaster and amenities include: boat slips and side tie dock space ranging from 25 to 115’; on-site designated boater parking; mailboxes for live aboard boaters; showers and restrooms; pump out stations; lockable dock boxes; courtesy dock phones; on-site fuel dock services; fee-based wi-fi services; on-site oil recycling + 24-hour security patrols. It’s conveniently located, with an array of shopping and dining options – many of which are in walking distance from the marina. A number of service providers are also located within the property, including marine hardware/supply stores, equipment sales and repair, as well as a full-service shipyard. With a strong team of experienced yacht brokers at our Long Beach location, Denison is here to assist in meeting any and all needs, whether it’s brokerage services, a slip, maintenance, local attractions, restaurants, or just a helpful hand.
