2024 RORC Transatlantic Race
The Royal Ocean Racing Club's 10th anniversary edition of the RORC Transatlantic Race will start from Lanzarote on the 7th January 2024. The race will feature six Maxi yachts, six Multihulls, and 18 IRC boats, including former round the world racing yachts and a record-breaking trimaran.
2024 RORC Transatlantic Race
The Canary Challenge is a new race organised from 13-17 December 2023 by the Royal Canary Sailing Federation, Royal Yacht Club of Arrecife, and Calero Marinas. The race of approximately 600nm around the Canary Islands uses IRC and MOCRA rating rules. Aimed at Volvo 70s, VO65 and Multihulls, other IRC Classes maybe formed according to demand.
World Cruising Club
ARC+ is a new route option for the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers, which sets sail from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to the Caribbean every November. It offers a stopover in Cape Verde before reaching Grenada, and is limited to 100 yachts.
Single-Handed Trans-Atlantic Race
OSTAR is a yacht race across the North Atlantic, organised by the Royal Western Yacht Club. It was the first single-handed ocean yacht race in 1960, and has been held every four years since then, with different routes and sponsors.
Comanche sets new Transatlantic Race record
Comanche, a 30.48 metre carbon fibre yacht, won Monohull Line Honours and set a new monohull race record in the 2022 RORC Transatlantic Race. The yacht, designed by VPLP/Verdier Maxi and owned by Jim Clark, has a wide beam, a 47 metre rig and a stainless steel keel.
