For oversized yachts headed towards the West coast of the US or Canada, we are able ship yachts by ocean liner – however, due to the Jones Act, yacht transporters are required to ship yachts to Ensenada, Mexico and then pilot up the coast to your destination in California, Washington, Oregon or western Canada.

Yachts can easily be shipped from Florida to the Caribbean. We offer yacht transport service to the Caribbean all year long. Heading into hurricane season, you may want to move a yacht out of the Caribbean. We offer this service as well but we tell our customers to please book early since yacht transport out of the Caribbean during hurricane season is very common, so there is limited space on charter ships heading back to the United States. We can also offer yacht shipping from the Caribbean to Europe or Canada.

In order to transport your boat safely, you have to measure Heigh, Beam (Width), Length, bow pulpits, swim platforms, outboard motor brackets, outboard motors.

Any loose items down below may damage your boat or be damaged, Remove any loose items on deck. Stow and secure all loose gear.  Remove anchors from the deck. Tape your hatches closed for transit.

Preparing Your Yacht for Its Shipping Process

• Take any hazardous materials off the yacht including paint, oil, fuel and any other flammable or dangerous liquids.
• Make sure all latches and hatches are fastened and secured tightly. Reinforce latches with rope, straps or zip ties. There shouldn’t be any way for water or debris to get into the yacht.
• Go through the yacht to remove any valuable or sentimental items. The transporter will not be held responsible for any of these items. Remove the anchor and any other heavy unattached items as well.
• Lock or secure shut all doors, cabinets, windows and drawers to prevent them from opening during the yacht’s transport.
• Secure loose gears and cables inside and outside of the yacht.
• If the yacht exceeds 13ft in height, make sure you inform the transport company of this. They may need to come up with an alternative route to avoid certain bridges and tunnels. If you can remove the piece or part that makes the yacht this tall, please do so.
• Disable all electrical and gas powered appliances and equipment. Batteries must also be disconnected.
• Have all necessary documentation regarding the yacht ready for the towing operator.

To the amazement of onlookers, former UFC owner Frank Fertitta III’s $250 million yacht, Viva, got stuck at a Fort Lauderdale bridge. The 308-foot yacht, boasting a gym, pool, cinema, helipad, and even a beauty salon, may have suffered damage in the accident.

The Viva yacht, known as an active Feadship luxury vessel delivered in 2021, experienced a bit of inactivity at Fort Lauderdale on September 10th. The vessel, with a top speed of 20.0 knots, was caught in a state of inertia due to the massive luxury yacht being lodged against the bridge. A video of the 308-foot pleasure craft, named Motoryacht of the Year in 2022, shows the pearly white hull practically stuck to the bridge with barely any space for air to pass through. It doesn’t take a genius to guess that this unwanted attachment likely caused some damage, though it is difficult to confirm from the video.
