Had an accepted offer in on an older sailboat with the slipped then when I asked him if they had Permission to transfer the slip they said yes but they didn't have that they wanted me to get a survey with their own survey or recommended when I said I had my own they said the boat was no longer available and not for sale check back at the website a month and a 1/2 later The boat is still for sale Yup these guys have had a bad reputation for a long time they are the Lowest of low

I contacted BYS to sell my boat with slip in Oceanside Harbor. With BYS service I received an offer, counter offered and buyer agreed. After boat survey, buyer made another counter offer that I agreed to & BYS charged me 10% on original sales price, not the selling price and threw in two of my kayaks in the same deal which I didn't agree to.

This guy is a joke. If you are trying to sell a boat...you might want to know that he is NOT interested in working to sell your boat! I have been by his office a few times over the years. He is never busy but alas...never has time to show the few boats posted. Make an appointment, come back later, busy busy busy. Walked in today to look at a couple that I have seen online and was ready to inspect them to buy. He turned me away...make an appt next week... Very very busy...but not a soul around. Meanwhile, same boat has been listed with him for months. Sellers - just post direct...Buyers will find you! This guy is so full of himself and doesn't mind turning buyers away while you keep paying slip fees. Horrible business. You will lose quality CASH buyers by listing with him because I honestly wouldn't buy a boat from him if he were the last broker on earth. RUN, don't walk away from this guy. Boats are hard to sell...I know...and real buyers are hard to find - so turning them away is a pretty bad strategy for sellers. I feel terrible for all of you.

Great experience!! The Owners of this yacht brokerage were a breath of fresh air. They were upfront on the pricing, went over our choices with their inventory, were extremely knowledgeable, and did not try to hard-sell us. If you are in the market for a yacht or a boat, this is the place to go in San Diego and Southern California!

We had an poor experience with this brokerage and we believe they were disingenuous with us. Be circumspect with this company.
