Listen to Chance the Rapper and Lil Yachty’s New Song “Atlanta House Freestyle”
Lil Yachty and Chance the Rapper have shared a new joint track. It’s called “Atlanta House Freestyle.” Check it out below.
“Atlanta House Freestyle” isn’t the first time Lil Yachty and Chance have teamed up for a song. In 2016, Yachty featured on Chance’s Coloring Book cut “Mixtape” alongside Young Thug. Lil Yachty’s last studio LP was 2018’s Nuthin’ 2 Prove . That same year he dropped Lil Boat 2 , along with a slew of collaborative tracks with Santigold and Diplo (“ Worry No More ”), Gucci Mane and Migos (“ Solitaire ”), Sheck Wes (“ N----s Ain’t Close ” ), and more.
Coloring Book marked Chance’s last studio album, though he recently confirmed that a new record will surface this coming July. He recently featured on a track by fellow Chicago rapper Supa Bwe .

Big Sean Clears The Air, Doechii Excels, A$AP Rocky Acts Swiftly, And Other Hip-Hop Releases
“No drop an album,” one user wrote. “That boy rapping [with] passion again,” another fan commented. “I love when yo heart bleed out like this man. Fav ‘version’ of you,” another user wrote. It appears there is a lot of positivity for Chance, especially given the fact he hasn’t released an LP since 2019’s The Big Day .
In December 2022, he spoke with VIBE about his creative process while working on Star Line , which was originally titled Star Line Gallery , and his desire to do more than just prove he can rap well. “When I first started [working on the new album], every song was kind of like ‘The Heart & The Tongue’ and not in terms of production, but just in terms of it was very rappy,” he said. “I think in time, I’ve naturally grown and had so many different experiences that have catered it to move more towards substance that, it’s still rappy, but now I feel like ‘The Highs & The Lows’ verse, I feel, was very, very vulnerable.”
Earlier this year, he shared “I Will Be Your (Black Star Line Freestyle)” which sampled Stephanie Mills’ 1981 R&B record, “Don’t Stop Doin’ What ‘Cha Do.” Last year, he released the 10th-anniversary edition of his seminal mixtape Acid Rap and also appeared on Madeintyo’s “BET UNCUT” which also featured Smino.
It seems like the wait is over and Chance is ready to remind people what he can do on wax. It’s now just a matter of when Star Line will come out.

The “mixtape” collaborators are back at it..
Chance the Rapper and Lil Yachty just dropped their latest collaboration “Atlanta House Freestyle” on SoundCloud. Exchanging fast-paced bars over a bass-heavy beat, Chano exhibits a different side to his ability as a rapper, showing his flexibility to keep up with Yachty’s continuous flow.
“Atlanta House Freestyle” marks the pair’s second collaboration following “Mixtape” from Chance’s 2016 album Coloring Book.

Did you know Lil Yachty eats pizza every single day? The 19-year-old rapper is basically living the dream, and the folks at Genius decided to set up the interview of his life, inviting him to make his favorite dish and talk to Rob Markman in West Hollywood for their IRL series .
Yachty was candid after tossing some dough around, speaking about his upbringing, his father’s affinity for rap and how he got into creating music himself after making parodies of other songs. That last revelation might end up as fodder for his detractors, but Lil Boat seems to have a real passion for music after being surrounded by it during his upbringing.
Boat also discussed Chance The Rapper briefly, and his coup at the Grammys this year with his album Coloring Book , on which Yachty made an appearance. He championed Chance as a standard bearer, and spoke about how he opened the door for all Soundcloud rappers who chose to avoid labels.
“Chance just broke a barrier for all the independent, up-and-coming, SoundCloud, local, mumble rap, getting-no-attention-from-major labels, or just don’t want to take that route,” he said between bites of the pizza he made. “For all the new rappers — 21 Savage, Uzi, Denzel Curry, Kodak Black — he just made it easy for the Grammys. It’s the world now, bro. It’s not sales, it’s streaming. And we run that. I know I run streaming, bro. Whether you hate me or not, you can’t deny that sh*t.”
It’s a fun, unique style of interview for Lil Boat as he readies his debut album Teenage Emotions , which he said would have “that vibe when you waking up in the morning getting dressed and you just wanna dance.”

Notable Tracks: Bryson Tiller, Big Sean, Lil Yachty, & Chance The Rapper
The first Notable Tracks post of the year. This is where I gather 3 to 4 songs, sometimes with a theme, and other times, they are just new discoveries for me. This week is… whatever, let’s get into it.
Last month, Bryson Tiller released Slum Tiller, Volume 3 , and I’ll admit that I never set aside time to check out any release from this series. However, I did catch a song off the project, the Big Sean -featured “Get Dis Money,” which turns out to be basically a remake of Slum Village’s “Get Dis Money” produced by J Dilla . I don’t know if it’s a Detroit thing, but Sean sounds nice over a Dilla beat ( even though this isn’t the first time ). It’s worth a listen. Also, for a moment, I thought maybe the Slum Tiller projects were just Bryson Tiller rapping over Slum Village beats… it is not .
I see what Lil Yachty is trying to do: things like the song with J. Cole , teasing a project with The Alchemist , and now this, “A Cold Sunday.” But my thoughts always go like, “This would probably be better if somebody else was on it.” But I still appreciate the effort.
Like everybody else, I also kinda stopped paying attention to Chance The Rapper after The Big Day . While his star isn’t as bright as it once was, he has been dropping random tracks here and there, and “I Will Be Your (Black Star Line Freestyle)” is one of those and was released a few weeks ago. And it’s good. Apparently, Star Line Gallery is the name of Chance’s next project, and this may be a sample of things on the album. I wouldn’t call it a comeback quite yet, but I’m listening.

Did Big Sean diss Lil Yachty on his new album Better Me Than You? Rapper addresses rumors in latest interview
B ig Sean recently clarified the speculations of him dissing Lil Yachty in his new album Better Me Than You, released on August 30, 2024. When the Detroit rapper dropped his sixth studio album last Friday, many wondered if he was taking subtle shots at Yachty on his bonus track Wire Me in the album's limited edition, titled Pressure Edition .
"I mean, I might have to even throw 'em a lil' boat/ I'm seein' n****s gettin' drowned out 'cause they can't switch up the flow/Just give 'em a year or two, and they gettin' exposed," he rapped in Wire Me.
Yachty's other monikers included Lil Boat, which prompted speculations of a diss. However, Big Sean refuted these claims in an interview with Complex published on the day of his album's release. When asked if the line was an intentional jab at Yachty, Sean said:
"I wasn't talking about [Lil Yachty]. Yachty is on the album as well. On "Yes," he's doing adlibs with me. I'm glad you said that, no I'm not taking a jab at Yachty. It was like a whole double entendre. [If I was referencing him] that would have been a whole other entendre."
Big Sean added that Yachty had been in the studio with him when they recorded the album. He also said the latter had a verse on the track Yes , alluding to its potential release in the future.
During the interview, Big Sean was also asked if he was referring to any specific rapper with the line about artists drowning because they can't switch up the flow. Big Sean said he included the line in the song because he felt it was clever, but acknowledged that artists sometimes use the same flow, which bores the audience.
Big Sean also responded to accusations of stealing Baby Keem's flow in Yes
Big Sean was also accused of stealing 23-year-old rapper Baby Keem 's flow when he released the music video for his song Yes on August 20. While Sean defended himself on social media at the time, he elaborated on his thoughts about the situation in his Complex interview.
When asked what he thought about comments accusing him of stealing Keem's flow , he said he tried his best not to think much of it. He added that this was not the first time he faced such claims, recalling an anecdote of him coming across a group of teenagers playing his song All Me .
"They were playing "All Me" where I'm like "H** shut the f*ck up." And I remember one of the kids was like, "Oh, did you get that from Baby Keem?" But the kid had to be like, I don't know, 14. My point is that I just don't read too much into it, man. But there are always things that you can go into my discography and see that I'm literally just picking apart what I've already done," Sean said.
He continued he would always credit any artist who inspired him, saying people always deserved recognition because creating music was difficult.
Better Me Thank You is Big Sean's first album in four years, following Detroit 2 in 2020. The 21-track album includes features from Gunna, Kodak Black, and Cash Cobain among others. The album has four limited edition variants, each with a different bonus track.

Teezo Touchdown Is Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Rookie Of The Year
With co-signs from Tyler, the Creator, Travis Scott, Drake and more, the 31-year-old is making waves with his genre-defying "R&B with the boom of rock."

In late May, Teezo Touchdown — clad in all-black leather, spiky silver nails piercing his shoulder pads — leaped across the stage of Los Angeles’ Fonda Theatre. As he performed his groovy 2023 song “Mood Swings,” he screeched helium-pitched “Wee!” ad-libs mid-air, and a vibrant flower bouquet encasing his microphone swung along with him.

“I’m like the doorman welcoming you into Tyler’s crib, Travis’ crib: ‘Can I grab you anything? He’ll be down shortly. But while you here, let me entertain you,’ ” he explains. That attitude has also informed Teezo’s recent guest appearances on tracks by artists including Drake, Doja Cat and Don Toliver — A-list collaborations that launched him onto the Billboard Hot 100 with “Amen,” from Drake’s 2023 album, For All the Dogs , marking Teezo’s highest-charting entry, at No. 15.
“Teezo is your favorite artist’s favorite artist,” says his manager, Amal Noor, who has worked with him since 2019. “He respects these artists’ careers, and to know that they love him creatively is an amazing feeling.”
Long before he became Teezo Touchdown, the artist born Aaron Lashane Thomas followed in the footsteps of his father, a DJ and avid music collector, and started DJ’ing in the second grade, performing at friends’ parties, weddings and graduations in his hometown of Beaumont, Texas. “Every year, I would get something music-related for Christmas, but in seventh grade, I got this small box. There was a key inside to the studio that my dad had built for me upstairs,” he says. Teezo made his first song ever that day — and he still plays the piano riff at studios he visits “to call back to that kid on Christmas, like, ‘Look where you at right now.’ ”
Tragedy affected his trajectory early on. After his girlfriend was fatally shot in 2016, Teezo channeled his grief into his art, and in February 2019, he dropped the somber single “100 Drums,” which decried gun violence over a sample of Panic! at the Disco’s emo smash “I Write Sins Not Tragedies.” Chance the Rapper and Trippie Redd both noticed, and the latter flew him out to L.A. for the first time the following month. Noor noticed, too: After seeing a clip of the “100 Drums” music video on a meme page, she also reached out to Teezo.
While spending time at his childhood home afterward, Teezo stumbled upon his father’s toolbox. “Punks are usually spiky. My dad had nails around the crib, and I was like, ‘This is going to be my spike,’ ” he says. In March 2020, Teezo asked his best friend to braid the nails into his hair for the first time, for his “Strong Friend” music video. “I think I was meant to find [the nails],” Teezo says, adding that he has comfortably slept with them in his hair multiple times.
How Do You Sleep at Night? (released last September on Not Fit for Society/RCA Records) showcases Teezo’s genre-defying talents — from the garage punk-meets-R&B anthem “Too Easy” to the guitar-driven indie-rock jam “Impossible.” It failed to crack the Billboard 200 , but Teezo only cares about the numbers for one reason: “I’m so obsessed with numbers because I just want to make my team proud. I’m proud because I’m making music and one person knows who I am.”
Drake called How Do You Sleep at Night? “some of the best music ever” when Teezo played it for him a month early. But ironically, Teezo’s profile expanded even further when Kendrick Lamar name-dropped him in the opening lines of his Hot 100 No. 1 Drake diss track, “Not Like Us” (“Nail a n—a to the cross/He walk around like Teezo”). Having just started his own tour (a “little bubble” filled with “loving fans”) at the time, “I made a decision that I wasn’t going to listen to any of the back-and-forth,” says Teezo, who claims to have somehow avoided listening to the inescapable “Not Like Us” in its entirety. “I’m seeing a mob mentality, and I don’t like division. Sorry I’m so kumbaya, but it’s all love over here.” The simple fact that both Drake and Lamar “know who I am… it’s still one of those moments where you have to pinch yourself. The kid in Beaumont, I’m pretty sure he’s jumping through the roof right now.”
And it’s working: Teezo has already started on his next project. “The word that [we] keep bringing up is ‘undeniable.’ Everything that we’re making, is it undeniable?” he says. “If it’s not, put a red mark on it and let’s move on to the next.”
This story appears in the Aug. 31, 2024, issue of Billboard.
