MY Lusine is a 60-metre, full-custom, steel FDHF motor yacht with an enclosed volume of 1,079 GT. Frank Laupman of Omega Architects designed the exterior lines, introducing an eye-catching ‘bird’s wing’ motif to integrate the main, bridge and sun decks without interrupting the bold, horizontal sweep of the tinted windows.
60 metres. Steel construction. Fast-displacement hull form - a patented design from the Van Oossanen studio, honed to perfection by Heesen’s naval architects. Powered by two MTU 4000 series diesel engines, she easily reached a top speed of 17.5 knots during sea trails, with noise and vibration levels below the required limits. The yacht has a range of 4,200 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 13 knots.
In one of the most complex interiors ever crafted at Heesen Yachts Interiors Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design has created a calm and elegant interior decor that exudes sophistication. The open-plan main salon and dining room highlight the distinctive Sinot aesthetic, beautifully exemplified by the use of rare woods and veneers, the finest fabrics, exquisite leathers and bespoke metals and glass, as well as custom-built furniture and lighting. The full beam Owner’s stateroom offers 180-degree panoramic views. Fifty square metres of refined luxury, a haven of opulent serenity overlooking a private aft terrace with a whirlpool. The central king-size bed island commands the room. The sleeping area is delineated by a bespoke silk carpet, while the rest of the room is finished in a Versailles parquet.

The 197-footer's interior also includes 180 rare woods, stones, and other exotic materials. we take a cruise., julia zaltzman, julia zaltzman's most recent stories.
Blue origin successfully landed its 8th crewed flight.
Following his death, the owner’s family put Lusine and his second yacht—the 237-foot Espen Øino-designed Albatross —up for sale. Robb Report was aboard Lusine in September during a short cruise from Monaco to St Tropez.
Lusine —meaning moon in Armenian—is defined by its sleek and sporty exterior. Designer Frank Laupman of Omega Architects placed a significant emphasis on spending time outdoors with family. A sun lounge and al-fresco dining area for 10 guests was designed into the aft main deck and shaded by an overhang, while also including a refreshment center and two large televisions. On the forward upper deck is another large social area with sun pads and lounge area for informal dining.
On the sun deck, a touch-and-go helipad is personalized with a crescent moon symbol, which replaces the H found on standard helipads. This detail, specified by the owner, is found on the floors of all the exterior decks.
Minimal furniture makes the sun deck highly flexible, serving as a dance floor, yoga deck or sun lounge to suit a new owner’s needs.
The helm is not necessarily a social spot, but there are lounges where guests can watch the skipper and his team at work at the advanced helm. “ Lusine operates as a completely paperless yacht, meaning all charts and maps are digital,” Captain Varun Raju told Robb Report .
In fact, the only charts found on board are in the wall art in the near full-beam main salon. Made from blue agate and straw marquetry, they depict celestial constellations. It is also here where the boat’s “moon stone” is located—a meteorite inlay in the main salon coffee table, surrounded by palladium leaf. “This is the closest I will get to touching something from space,” mused Varun.
Penned by Sinot Yacht Design, the interior dazzles with more than 180 rare woods, precious fabrics and exquisite materials. Versailles-patterned oak floors, crystal chandeliers by Precision lighting and gold-leaf and white-onyx sideboards bring the bling. Puffer fish and stingray skins line the walls. Clocks of all shapes and sizes are found in every room to symbolize the owner’s mantra that “time is precious.”
“He was a details man who drilled down on every aspect of the design,” says Paul Costerus of Sinot. The owner met with Sinot at least a dozen times, bringing hundreds of samples for every possible material for Lusine , and showing the design team exactly what he wanted—from the heights of the furniture to specific nooks near the bed for storing his reading glasses, to the height and depth of bathroom cabinets to ensure towels with a specific thread-count would fit.
Spaces were large and the volume of materials made everything feel hugely tactile. I wanted to reach out and touch the walls and finishes.
As one would expect, the owner also thought hard about crew service to minimize disruption to guests. On his yacht, guests had pride of place. A central-atrium elevator transports the owners and guests from the lower deck to the sun deck. The elevator is beautiful, but the the multi-deck 3D-leather artwork by British artist Helen Amy Murray surrounding is more impressive. It reflects three dimensions of nature: the lower deck shows underwater marine life, above is illustrated with birds and clouds, and at the top, celestial moon and stars.
On the dedicated owner’s deck is a full-beam suite with king-sized bed, his-and-her bathrooms and a study. At the touch of a button, the master suite windows frost, creating a fully private haven. The owner’s private deck has lounge seats that face the stern, with an on-deck jacuzzi. The area is also set up for intimate private dining.
The VIP suite with private office is located on the same floor, with a marble ensuite and underfloor heating. There are also four lower deck twin cabins.
On the lower deck, a full-beam swim platform with an on-deck shower is where guests access the water. There is also a tender and toy garage with a day-head. An additional forward tender garage holds a jet ski and two tenders, including a 270 Dauntless Boston Whaler. Gull-wing doors mean the tenders can easily be launched from the side.
Lusine ‘s owner wanted the boat to be a social haven, inside and out, that would be used often by family and friends. In the end, he accomplished that mission.

She has a volume of approximately 1,060 GT and to meet the Owner’s requests the engineering team needed to come up with some novel solutions. She is the first yacht to have the SCR system in addition to the V12 MTU engines and has a launching ramp in the aft tender garage for the Boston Whaler tender. Other features include full tropical air conditioning and a touch-and-go helipad which has its very own air-conditioned boarding lounge.

The interiors by Sinot Yacht Architecture and Design are elegant and tranquil, using high-quality fabrics, leather and wood varieties to create one of the most complex living spaces ever crafted by Heesen artisans. Within this bespoke setting, the accommodation sleeps up to 12 guests over 6 en-suite cabins: 1 Owner’s apartment on the bridge deck and 5 further guest cabins.

North Sea sea trials proved she was capable of her contractual speed of 17.5 knots using the two MTU 12V 4000 M65L Diesel engines, which have a total range of 4,200 nautical miles. Throughout the trials noise and vibrations remained within the required parameters.
Luxury yacht LUSINE is the first yacht from Heesen to be delivered in 2022 with many more custom and semi-custom vessels yet to be revealed.

The newly delivered 60-metre Heesen motor yacht Lusine has been sold with Andrew Bond of Fraser introducing the buyer, with Burgess and KAYZ Marine acting for the seller.
Lusine is one of the latest launches by Dutch shipyard Heesen, built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure with exterior design by Omega Architects . At 60 metres in length, she is Heesen's largest steel superyacht to date and was picked up a Judges' Commendation in the Displacement Motor Yacht (500GT to 1,499GT) category at the 2023 World Superyacht Awards.
A 1,079GT interior by Sinot Design & Architecture can sleep up to 16 guests in eight ensuite cabins with an owner’s suite that looks aft over a private terrace on the upper deck, complete with a Jacuzzi, dining space and sun loungers. The remaining guest accommodation is comprised of four twins on the lower deck, an additional twin and full-beam VIP suite with a private lounge on the main deck, and a sun deck twin suite with a private terrace.
Sinot created a subtly cosmic-themed interior that pairs light and dark woods with parquet flooring and pops of blue. Sliding glass doors lead from the aft deck to the main saloon which is home to a formal dining area that seats 10 beneath a modern light fixture, lounge seating and a games table.
Other highlights include a touch-and-go helipad on the aft sun deck, an elevator serving all decks and a large foredeck sun lounge for guest enjoyment - and privacy - when in port.
Meanwhile, a tender garage forward offers stowage for a pair of tenders - including a large 8.2 metre tender - behind the main deck shell doors.
Power comes from twin 2,655hp MTU diesel engines delivering a top speed of 17.5 knots and a range of 4,200 nautical miles at 13 knots. She is built to Lloyd’s classification and is MCA compliant.
Lusine was asking $82,000,000.
