If you love nature, you can visit beautiful national parks such as the Teide, the Picos de Europa or the Timanfaya. Of all European countries, the most IBAs (Important Bird Areas) can be found in Spain. This wonderful place can be found in the southern part of Costa Brava in Blanes. Barcelona is the second-largest city in Spain and an important port of the Adriatic Sea. The main sight here is the La Sagrada Familia – the Expiatory Church of the Holy Family, which is a World Heritage Site. Further famous sights include the Santa Maria del Mar cathedral and the Picasso Museum. The town centre has a green area called Parc de la Ciutadella; its fountain was inspired by the Trevi Fountain in Rome.
Gastronomy of Spain
The paella is among the greatest delicacies; it is made with good quality rice coloured yellow by saffron. They put many types of meat and vegetables in it. Popular soups include cool gazpacho and warm cocido. Tapas is also popular, and we differentiate several types. They prepare it with olive, sausage, vegetables or cheese. The famous Jamon Serano ham is a delicacy that you must definitely taste. Churros is a popular dessert, and so is the Madeleine called Magdalena. As for drinks, they have sherry, Malaga wine and Sangria.

Its pleasant climate and natural beauty make Spain an attractive destination among tourists. Our article [...]
The Canary Islands have a pleasant subtropical climate, while there is a greater fluctuation on the Balearic Islands. It often rains in the summer, and the amount of precipitation is higher during the winter. Between the autumn and spring periods, stronger winds arrive, for instance, the Mistral, the Vendaval or the Sirocco. We recommend water enthusiasts visit Spain in the summer, and the autumn period is perfect for visiting the historic and natural sights.
The geographical location, as well as the orographic conditions of Spain, made its climate particularly diverse. Spain is the most climatically diverse country in Europe. Spain is characterized by the overlap of one fundamental climatic division (between humid and semiarid and arid zones) by another (the threefold division of the peninsula into maritime, continental, and mountain climates). Some regions can be very cold during the winter and extremely hot in the summer. The vast central plateau, or Meseta, has a more continental-influenced climate. On the Mediterranean coast, the climate is moderate with rain in spring and autumn. The Balearic Islands have a maritime climate, with cool, wet winters and warm, dry summers.
On the central and southern coast of the Mediterranean, the sun shines quite often even in winter. On the coast of the Mediterranean Sea and in the small Atlantic coastline of the Gulf of Cádiz winter is mild. Temperatures range between 20°C and 30°C. Wet periods are between September and October. The months of January until February provide the coldest time of the year. In comparison with the northern coast, the rains are rarer and sunshine is more frequent. This is due to the fact that the Mediterranean coasts of Spain, exposed as they are to the east and south, are relatively sheltered from Atlantic weather fronts. Along the Mediterranean coast and in the Balearic Islands, summer is hot and sunny, as is typical of the Mediterranean climate , the air is humid but sea breezes temper the heat during the day.
Summer is cool and quite rainy on the Atlantic coast, where even in July and August the sky is often covered with clouds, and the sea is not warm, barely touching 21 °C in August. The Coastal Mediterranean region is marked by Leveche winds: hot, dry, easterly or southeasterly air currents that originate over North Africa. The climate and landscape are determined by the Atlantic Ocean winds whose moisture gets trapped by the mountains circumventing the Spanish Atlantic coast. If you want more accurate/detailed information about the weather and wind conditions, select a region from the bareboat yacht charter in Spain destinations tab. Please search for the desired holiday destination within the region and you can find the weather tab under the city tab.

Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands, famous for its beautiful beaches, resorts and nightlife. As the island of Tenerife is renowned for its breathtaking beaches and volcanically scarred landscapes, there are not many bays to anchor a yacht. Additionally, the island has protected areas where anchorage is forbidden, and all anchorages should be approved by the authorities ahead of time. The surrounding waters of Tenerife provide many great opportunities to spot whales and dolphins throughout the year.
For your convenience, you can moor your yacht in one of the following marinas of Tenerife:
- Marina Santa Cruz is located in the city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, which also happens to be the island’s capital. This marina has 300 berths for yachts up to 90 meters long. A full range of yacht maintenance services, supermarkets and small shops are also available at this marina. Every year, the marina hosts many rallies and regattas, which must be taken into account when considering vacancy for mooring.
- Marina Tenerife is located in an artificial harbor. It has 220 water berths and additional 100 berths for dry docking, for yachts up to 16 meters long. Conveniently, a shipyard is located nearby, providing yacht repair and maintenance services.
- Marina Galera is located on the southeast coast of Tenerife. There are 176 berths for yachts up to 20 meters long. Additional accommodations include a swimming pool, shopping centers, bars, restaurants and more.
- Marina San Miguel de Abona is located in the south of Tenerife. The marina offers 344 berths for yachts up to 20 meters long, yacht repair and maintenance services and a gas station. It also provides fresh water, electricity, Wi-Fi, shopping, restaurants, bars, hotels and a golf course for its visitors.
How to rent a yacht in Tenerife
The boat rental process in Tenerife is very simple.
- Choose the duration and the starting date of your vacation. Yacht booking ahead of time is highly recommended, due to high demand during the sailing season.
- Choose a boat that will accommodate the number of your traveling party.
- Select the type of yacht you desire. Sail boats, motorboats, catamarans, RIB and many more boat options are available for rent in Tenerife.
- Pick your yacht category — a bareboat or a yacht with a skipper. Bareboat rental is available for individuals possessing a skipper's license, which allows yacht operation in Spain. If you do not have a skipper's license, you can book a yacht with a skipper.
- Go to Sailica.com and send a yacht rental request.
The rental cost only covers a yacht itself. It's important to consider additional expenses such as fuel, skipper services, food, equipment rental, boat berthing fees, etc. Our management team will contact you shortly to confirm your reservation and answer any additional questions you may have about a yacht rental in Tenerife Island.
