If you’re wondering what a catamaran of the future might look like, this is it . The Italian Sea Group ’s Tecnomar brand just unveiled a radical new multihull called This Is It that looks as if it’s been plucked straight from the year 2050.

“The realization of this extraordinary project challenges the ‘conventional’ perceptions, driving us to completely recreate the boundaries of aesthetic parameters,” TISG founder and CEO Giovanni Costantino said in a statement.

With an interior volume of approximately 750 GT, the vessel can accommodate up to 14 guests across six generous staterooms. The expansive owner’s suite is distinguished by a large skylight, a dedicated terrace, and a two-story vertical garden, no less.

Spread across four decks, the living quarters pair a calming palette of beige and gray tones with wood and leather finishes. The interior is outfitted with nearly 6,500 square feet of glass windows, too, which create a light and airy atmosphere while providing prime views. Other highlights include a luxe massage room and a mirrored galley designed for events and show cooking.

TISG says the design of the exterior is reminiscent of a luxury villa with sizable balconies and relaxation areas. The aft deck is a clear standout, with a striking swimming pool, lounge, and sunbathing spot.

This Is It was commissioned in 2020, with construction work on the vessel kicking off in 2021. The catamaran will premiere at the Monaco Yacht Show later this month. The event will take place from September 27 to 30 if you wish to see the cat IRL.

The Italian Sea Group have announced the launch of their brand-new catamaran THIS IS IT under the Tecnomar brand. This unique and exceptional 43.5 m (142’7″) superyacht will make her debut at the Monaco Yacht Show later this month and is characterised by her unique and bold silhouette.

Superyacht THIS IS IT

The exterior is sinuous and soft and features 600sqm of glass, challenging the perception of what is possible using conventional construction processes. This amount of glass needed careful weight management and the complex profile pushed the limits the aluminium’s capabilities.  Ultimately the optimised shape enhances the hydrodynamic efficiency, leading to a significant reduction in fuel consumption and, therefore, emissions.

The interior mirrors the futuristic exterior and presents with a unique galley featuring polarised glass enabling a subtle connection with the guest areas. Using sophisticated materials including leather and Alcantara, oak and teak plus grey marble with bronze, titanium and carbon creates a stunning and elegant contrast throughout the spaces.

Accommodation is across six suites with The spacious owner’s stateroom featuring a skylight with an 3.3m skylight, superb panoramic terrace and a unique vertical garden spanning two deck and giving the feeling of being in a seaside villa.

Powered by twin MTU engines, she comfortably cruises at 17 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 21 knots with a range of up to 3,600 nautical miles from her 53,000 litre fuel tanks at 10 knots.

Equipped with a selection of water-toys This is It lets you and your guests turn the Mediterranean into your own private playground. Take to the sea on the Jet Skis offering you power and control on the water. In addition there are Jobe towable toys offering fun and adventure. Also there are waterskis that are hugely entertaining whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro. If that isn't enough This is It also features a seabob, wakeboards, kayaks and kneeboards. This is It features two tenders, but leading the pack is a 15m/49'3" Technohull Chase Tender to transport you in style.

The Italian Sea Group is pleased to announce that their Tecnomar Catamaran, “This is It”, has been honored with the “Best Catamaran” award in Robb Report’s Best of the Best 2024.

The esteemed yearly event was held at the Yachting Club in Monaco on July 10th. It honors leading luxury goods and experiences in diverse fields such as yachting, architecture, fashion, design, and technological advancements.

The evaluation committee comprised editors and specialists across 15 categories, including automotive, yachting, aviation, travel, style, watches, jewelry, food, wine, spirits, art, design, cigars, equipment, and residential construction. They judged submissions on innovation, meticulousness, and the quest for perfection.

Tecnomar - The Italian Sea Group

Under the Tecnomar brand, The Italian Sea Group manufactures and markets yachts up to 50 metres in steel and aluminium. Founded in 1987 and acquired by The Italian Sea Group in 2009, Tecnomar, which has always been synonymous with dynamism, is characterised by cutting-edge lines and design at the service of powerful and reliable mechanics. Each Tecnomar model represents a design challenge that balances the elegance of the best Italian nautical tradition and the use of extremely innovative technologies and materials, with particular attention to eco-sustainability.

In 2020, The Italian Sea Group confirmed its strategic positioning, having developed a partnership with renowned Italian luxury brand Automobili Lamborghini, for the design and creation of the "Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63", a limited-edition of motor yacht with extraordinary performance and quality beyond all limits.

This Is It is an exciting new presence on the catamaran scene that defies convention with its unique and innovative design. Tradition and innovation come together to create a radical lifestyle concept, defined by a layout with striking asymmetries and a bold, eye-catching silhouette enveloped by over 600 square metres of imposing windows.

The inspiration is technological, far from the typical yachting design and more in tune with civil architecture. The external lines, sinuous and soft, challenge our perception of what is possible, forcing us to rethink our aesthetic parametres. Innovative design, speed and sportiness, elements in the Tecnomar motor yachts' DNA, make This Is It an exceptional catamaran.
