BG’s “sails” at recent IOM World Championships: 1st 2007; 1st & 2nd 2009, and 1st, 2nd, & 3rd 2011.
BG’s Britpop: 1st, 2nd, & 3rd 2011 IOM World Championship. (These were the only prototypes in existence at the time – an unprecedented IOM clean sweep.)
BG’s personal finishes at recent IOM World Championships: 1st 2007, 2nd 2009, and 2nd 2011 (where it was decided on the exciting last race, which he went into on equal points. This excellent video takes you there .
Since 2003 BG has personally never finished out of the top 6 in IOM International events, so he has been at the top level for a while.

The rigs appear very similar. Did you establish a static rake for those boats too?
The location of the sail winch in front of the mast accessed by a hatch and general sheeting configuration is the same.
All have Dave Creed designed/manufactured foils and bulbs.

When you set the travel on your RMG sailwinch what angle is the limit for main and jib booms?
How much rudder throw do you recommend? Is this something where the more skilled get away with more throw because they know how to limit the use of this brake.
Do you use exponential on your rudder? For me it is very helpful, but I’ve tested a few boats that had more than I prefer.
How heavy are your jib counterbalances. What is the dock test to know jib counterbalance is correct?
Do you recommend Travel Adjust for the mainsheet with the RMG?

SAILSetc has a long association with the International One Metre class supplying specially designed products since the class’s inception in 1988. From the first World Championship in 1994 SAILSetc designed boats and equipment have given outstanding performance for a large number of sailors against the toughest competition at World, European and national level.

The first SAILSetc IOM designed with the help of a VPP, IKON, justified its use on that project and every design put into production at SAILSetc since then. IKON was followed by ITALIKO, TOPIKO, PIKANTO and FRAKTAL all of which, in turn, proved to be excellent designs giving success to many sailors and top quality performance years after their launch.

SAILSetc has ceased building boats and moulding other component parts. We have developed new sources of fins and rudders which, with our ballasts and in house moulded parts, can be expected to help other designs obtain their best performance.

SAILSetc spars, fittings and sails provide an optimised and compatible range of products with which to equip any IOM, whether from SAILSetc or from another source.

The Britpop Boat Party (over 30s Only)

Join us for this very special Britpop edition of An Afternoon of Indie as we take to the high seas of the East London Waterways for The Britpop Boat Party as Old School indie joins forces with Feeling Gloomy & Age Against The Machine.

Grab your sailor's hats and climb aboard as we take you back to the mid-90s for all those classic Britpop, anthems and sing-alongs to get you dancing on deck with your fellow shipmates. A fully stocked bar on board for you to buy drinks.

Expect to hear Blur, Oasis, Pulp, Suede, Elastica, Sleeper, Supergrass, Radiohead, Kula Shaker, Cast, Ash, Manic Street Preachers, Shed Seven, The Bluetones, Echobelly, Space, Republica, Mansun, The Stone Roses, Space, Reef and much more from the era of TFI Friday, Select Magazine and Cool Britannia.

**As with every Old School Indie event this is strictly for over 30s only. Photo ID MUST be produced, even if you have purchased an advance ticket!**

The Britpop boat will depart from Stratford Waterfront Pontoon, Queen Elizabeth Park. (A map will be emailed to all ticket holders a few days before the event (or see image attached now), but meet upis directly in front of the new East Bank development in the shadows of the UAL, V&A, BBC and Sadlers Wells buildings, adjacent to the London Aquatic Centre.)

2pm - Meet Time (please arrive in good time to board as the boat will be setting sail at 3pm regardless of latecomers)

3pm-6pm - Sailing / Britpop Disco Time

6pm-7pm - Wind down on the wharf to our playlist

A few rules to highlight:

- Boat sails at 3pm prompt please be there well in advance, late-comers cannot be jet-skiied over. Anyone not on board by departure will void their tickets.

- No drinks are allowed on board other than those purchased on the boat.

- Sea-sickness pills are not available, so bring a bag if you are not a salty sea dog.

- This is an 30+ event

Spanish Built Britpop Jib Swivel Line
This forms a tight loop, and when you feed a thin line into that squashed bit you can easily pull the line back through. I use to feed the sheets through the boom eyes - feed the "needle" through first, feed the line into the squashed bit, pull back though. I also used to to replace the jib swivel line on my Fraktal.
